So malam tadi semua da tau kan sapa yang layak ke Anugerah Juara Lagu.

Well... sebelom I get on to the full list of songs that made it, I want to wish congratulations kepada semua lagu yang layak berdasarkan kualiti komposisi dan bukan atas sebab sebab lain ye.

Laser semacam kan? Well, hakikat kan? At the end of the day, some songs yang qualified (memasing paham la mana satu) memang don't belong in the elite league of compositions which will face off kang masa di AJL.

To friends, I personally congratulate Alya, Estranged, Stacy and Misha kerana meka akan perform kat pentas akhir. To Aizat - I am especially proud of you cause it was a fitting tribute (whether you thought of it or not... and I'm sure she would be really proud too, bro, if she was here... cuma pasni jangan emo ke focus sangat sampai hanyut lupa lirik). To Hafiz and Akim - bangga ada gak anak-anak murid yang akan beraksi pentas AJL.

Aku happy for them personally.

To Yuna and Hujan, congrats - and pada orang kampung aku, Bunkface, you guys are the future of our music where there are talents who also sing their own compositions. You guys, Estranged and Aizat definitely deserve in for the new breed of talents we want to lead the way.

Aku sakit hati tol serious dengar Shila nyanyi. Nothing personal against her, but I think she is so unsuited for the song. Sora dia tuh sesuai stakat lagu Britney Spears yang feeling overproduced in the studio je.

Anyway, a few horrible songs aside, looks like Muzik Muzik kali ni memang planned out well. For the sake of production - memang kali ni a good mix of bands, solo vocals yang power, mellower delivery and pop offerings. All in all, production heaven. Is that good for music in general... entahlah.

Bummer!

Saiful did it, Najib has done it! It definitely is in the vogue now! Swearing in the mosque here has officailly ousted the previous favourites of statutory declarations! Swearing on the Quran itself however is still an optional activity, as in Najib's case.

It is still not known if Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will follow the latest trend or look for other means to introduce a new fad.

Meanwhile, incentives are still hot with impending the impending by election.

Petrol is down 15 sen to 22 sen as of today while diesel is down by 8 sen.

Never mind oil prices have dropped the last few weeks, and yesterday it dropped more than US$6 to USD$114.59 a barrel.

At that time of the price hike, the world oil price was US$125 a barrel before it began its downward trend since early this month!

Better late than never? Even it if it's only 15 sen?

Sorry about the entry smalam guys. Seriously been feeling blue the last couple of days but trying to keep it in. You know me... every couple of months I have my emotional breakdown gituh. Traumatising kan?

Anyway... really didn't feel like updating at all.

But first a quick recap. Thursday night was an occasion to say happy birthday to Farhan with a surprise party by family and friends at her home. And boy was she surprised! Sampai in tears tuh!





Didn't do much remainder of the night as could feel depression peeking. Yesterday wasn't any better. In fact it was a slide further. Felt like shit... The weather was a little reflective of my mood though. Grey and stormy.



The weather forecast for today? Looking out my window, expect pretty much the same weather? Me? Hoping to spend a little time to get over this depp blue funk I'm going through.

So-sial event

Tension tahap gaban aku smalam. Temankan Faz, along with Juan and Ju ke event pelancaran majalan hiburan baru ni. Malas nak sebut event apa la. Tak perlu nak bagik promosi percuma untuk event yang macam $%^&!!!

Yang make my blood go upstairs sangat sebab aku kesian sangat panggil selebriti tempatan nak make the event more meletup gituh, tapi layanan diberikan macam. Erm...

Dahler staff dia tak kenal majority of the local artists, especially the Malay entertainment industry. So ko imagine ler the sort of things that can and did happen. Sakit jiwa kalao aku repeat. Yang dia kenal yang bukan Melayu saja.

Apahal nak wat event camni sebab nak the attention, tapi tetap ignore when you get what you've gotten. So salah ok!

Anyway, seb baik ada ler aku snappy some pics tuk isi masa. Thank goodness ramai gak kengkawan hadir. Walaupun memasing semua muka sentap gak sebab yang ada free flow Stout je. Aiyo... tak sensitif langsung meka. Rupanya someone forgot to mention Coke was an alternative. Matilah...

So ramai terlopong bodoh jer la... lucky sempat isi masa ngan gosip. Merasalah.
Got to chill with Faz, goss ngan Sarimah sebab lama da tak catch up ngan dia, as well as borak panjang ngan Vanessa.

Tapi aku terbodoh gak event tuh sebab aku jumpa someone yang erm... you know when you meet someone yang, I don't know.. just makes you wish there and then ko leh propose to them?

Sempat sembang ngan dia tapi I think I made a fool out of myself sebab nervous. There you go. Interview memacam orang tapi simple conversation ngan someone I fancy leh horror.

Macamana tuh... damn.

Moving on... so here are some pics of friends at the most boring event of the year.

And of course I have to feature Faz, sebab loved the Chanel ankle purse she wore which was like really red, and matched with the red trademark soles of her Christian Louboutin. Check out the second pic to pick up on the Chanel ankle purse. It's so cute! They made their rounds on the catwalk a few seasons ago but if you saw the Nelly music video Stepped On My Js, Ciara ada pakai pon.

One pic I snapped which I liked a lot was Rich and Velvet together. Yes, they're coming out. Tak nak cover cover lagik! Not like we didn't know they were an item, but it was sweet to see them together as one.

And then... Vanessa was with a friend who just arrived fom Japan. For fans of The Amazing Race Asia 2, you'll recognise the Japanese contestant who was up again Van and Pam along with her brother. I think her name's Sawaka. Before anyone asks who's that with Sarimah.. tuh adik dia.

The last pic tuh si Razif Hashim. Remember he was in Gol Dan Gincu. Also Ghost, and movies Goodbye Boys dan yang terbaru Jarum Halus. Also in a couple of theatre productions and last seen in 8TV's Quickie before he quit. Dalam berapa minggu he's heading for London nak pursue his Masters in acting. Good luck Raz!!!

Bangga talents muda kita. Sayang old crockpots rule the business when young promising talents like this overlooked.

On Motorola ROKR E8, Marsha, Velvet, Estranged, Marie Digby, Nadia FC, Alif FC and Diari (banyak tuh)

Sepanjang hari, blogdrive wat hal. Tak cukup tuh, imageshack lak wat hal, so nak letak pics pun takleh, so I apologise guys kalao posting nih lambat sangat nak up kan.

Tambah lagik hectic gila, so it didn't help with things.

First destination of the day, well of the evening actually, was to 1 Utama for Marie Digby! Mak aih!

Can you believe it took me over an hour just to get a parking spot. Gila la! Mencik tol parking sana. Anytime of day pegi sana mesti cam lahar nya. Ni lak nak cepat, it was even more painful to play this kejar kejar game tunggu orang nak kuar keta, then rush over to fight for one lousy spot.

Can you believe the waiting pun da cost berapa Ringgit lak. Untung mall camni.

But it got worse when I headed down for the show, and over a thousand people spread out all about. Malas berhimpit. Matilah claustrophobia aku kang menjadik lagik. So dok area behind the stage jauh sikit from the crowd, layan audio jerk.

Ramai lak kawan kawan serempak kat sana yang saja nak check her out.

The show was good, but it didn't get that much attention from me, because I was too amazed at the number of people who were busy playing pro photographers. Looks like almost everyone has some sort of camera nowadays.

Tapi yang caught my attention was how most of these people weren't enjoying the show, but how they seemed more intent being there to snap a pic or take a video. Maybe events like this da jadik bloggers heaven kot... meka leh carik content, because aku balik jerk, aku perasan a whole lot of activity on the Web ngan individual testimonials of being at the show.

Yes the evils of technology. And artiste is now an 'event' and no longer appreciated for her songs.
Speaking of which, not many who turned up seemed to know about her.

Some guy professing to be the biggest fan asik jerit pronounce nama dia salah.

Most others didn't have a clue to her songs. Until she did her cover of Umbrella then most of them went wild. Erm... so obvious... oh nevermind.

I wasn't the only one to notice as some other friends yang sempat singgah borak pun laser benda sama. Meka datang nak watch a show by someone they loved on the CD, and instead, had to put up ngan orang yang tak penah dengar anything apart from her cover of Umbrella. Bumped into Aizat and family.. they weren't too amused either.

After the show, moved away from all the groupies. No way I'm going to be associated with the stampede. Joined Sarah and colleague from EMI at Gap where Marie was going to have the autograph session.

When Marie arrived (after being literally mauled by overenthusiastic groupies), dia perasan aku dok ngumpat kat one corner dia hi kat aku and cuba ler nak sembang.

Aku hi balik jerk and just signalled to talk later jerk.

Matilah aku rasa cam mesti kena sumpahan by at least five jealous fans da masa tuh like, sapa mamat nih kenal dia taking up her precious time by being there. Matilah aku...

I sought refuge in the Gap store for most parts as the fans outside started literally rioting demanding to be let in. Aiyo! Sabar lah dik! So as the regular fans (kerek tak statement?) beratur kat luar, aku dok tengok dari the comfort of inside the store yang cuma Gap employees, EMI staff and security apart from Marie and her couple of people yang bertugas jaga dia leh masuk.. owh.. dan juga kawan kawan penganjur cam aku yang dok melangut sana. Heh.. merasalah carut diri sendiri.

Malas tol scenario camni. I mean, can't they line up and wait their turn?

I happened on several blogs yang beriya cita camni camtuh, but from their pictures, aku cam meka, and beriya posting meka... rupanya propah. Heh.. kelentong la. Konon meka camtuh camni. Wow... blogging has become fiction ke sekarang?

Malas nak snap any pics, then member EMI kata amik jer pic letak blog. Ack! I'm going to be one of those people.

Sebab da jumpa lepak ngan Marie in a more relaxed environment, rasa cam tak perlu pon. But snapped two pics jer for sesapa yang minat dia (alasan jerk tuh.. padahal bateri cam pun da nak mati da time tuh)

I couldn't take the crowd anymore. With less than an hour to go to the end of the autograph session and with hundreds more in the line to meet Marie, I got out before it got ugly, Especially since, I knew Marie had to ciao by 11 to catch her flight.

Made my way to Laundry Bar at The Curve for the launch of the Motorola ROKR E8. Yer.. and I get to tayang the phone. Orang baru nak launch aku da pakai dulu. Semakin hari smakin sayang lak phone nih.

Lepak ngan my sis ngan colleagues dia, as well as bumped about from table to table tayang phone as I got jealous looks, before I bumped into Rich and the Estranged gang. Meka pon had a phone each da! But aku punya set lengkap. Meka nya takde the ear piece thingie. Heh.. jealous meka!

Meka perform malam tuh along with some other acts. Tapi celah all that, spotted two people yang menjerit cam orang gila bila nampak aku. Sapa ek? Here are the piccies.

After about an hour or so, terpaksa gerak sebab ada kengkawan menunggu kat NZ di Setiawangsa. Janji sebenarnya nak join Juan and Co nak planning bab Alif FC punya booth tuk carnival masa final kang. Sekaligus, jumpa geng dari Nadia FC yang nak story mory drama swasta yang berlaku smalam as well as nak bagik suntikan semangat. Iyolah tuh! Tapi besh gak.. sebab meka sempat eratkan silaturrahim. Uwaaaaaa... katanya.

But I like the cooperation between the FCs and so far these two, as well as Nadia FC and Stacy FC kerjasama and understanding, aku suka sangat. Abih jer... balik KO. Sambung tengok rakaman Diari. Ni sempat wat ulasan sikit as usual recap the day's events.

When you benarkan yang tak ada jiwa seni, masuk ke dalam dunia ini untuk cuba mempraktikkan apa yang memerlukan emosi. jiwa dan keikhlasan, what do you get?
You get Ramli MS having to tell Nubhan how to feel his song, or Stanly how to sing without overdoing his notes.

But on to the drama, Riz dan Nadia, tried to clarify with Ramli MS what happened.

He gave the most simple response, which would make sense to anyone as the obvious solution. Gi mintak maap. Kan senang jerk.

Merasalah kena ada konsep nyanyi Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word ker? Elok.. semua jadik Blue, Stanly jadik Elton John for the newer version.

Erm... what's with the Nubhan and Stacy pairing. Damn... wish they would stop doing that.
Siti Hajar has to give that reassurance to the kids, especially Toi.

How many times do they need to hear the same things before they finally understand what's trying to be hammered through?

Da sembilan minggu.. aduh.. letih tenaga pengajar nak berulang, letih lagik nak dengar every day of nine weeks.

Toi ngan Syafie. What do you expect? Miracles? Toi tetap tahap tuh gak.

Stacy on Beat It. Wish someone would work on her intonation because that needs some work.

Oh look... sempat Nubhan, Toi dan Riz borak pasal Michael Jackson. Erm...

What would cam whoring be without Toi. Tetap nak menyelit masuk!


Back again to the drama. Finally Riz kata sedih pasal the whole issue.

I think it's a case of him always realising too late what he does. Berkejaran Riz dan Nadia nak nak mintak maap beriya. Oh well.. we all know they would have to in the end kan.

In Linda's class, preparation for choreography for Beat It.We didn't get to see much of it.

Sesi makan, Nadia mintak maap ngan Mariam. Then Riz mintak maap lak. Then it's on to Shafiq for apologies.

Lastly to Kutip.A refresher course for them on the basic rules of the Akademi. Nine weeks later.
Shafiq and Mariam lak sembang ngan Kutip. All the b****ing and hopefully, some overzealous fans tak main halalkan jerk kalao ada yang meka minat, wat salah.

For comic relief, 'Kotak Man' yang masuk dalam Akademi. Kotak Man yang pakai baju ala Ramli MS tuh yang dulu letak the lovely defaced pics of the kids a week or so ago.

Muncul dua kali bebudak first try kejar, second time meka da tak larat da.

They had the kids weigh in. Semua naik berat badan. But the thing I observed was how callously meka repeatedly say kalao tak lose weight tak cantik. Come on! The stress for the shallowness is so wrong ok.

It just sends the wrong message to kids out there that they can be ugly for being 100 grammes more. Hello bulimia and anorexia.

The kids did a run through for umi. Malas nak cakap what's lacking or not sebab it's going into the final week, and aku rasa kalao sebelom ni orang masih tak nampak the weaknesses of certain kids, takyah la ulang.

Terselit ada lawak dari Sarimah. I think she's hilarious cita pasal penampilan and all, dia leh tunjuk belakang baju dia ada sepit sepit. Matilah! Aduh.. pecah perot gelak.

Moitf kak Mah? Pas sidai lupa bukak klip ke?


Session with kak Nita. She reminds me of watak Maria dalam The Sound Of Music. She makes me smile for that.

Dalam sesi kak Nita, had to put up with endless efforts of Toi yang nan ado melalak. Damn. But at least we had a lovely shot of his t shirt yang promo Carrefour. LEBIH MURAH ek? You think?

Goodnight...and goodbye...

The lights went out on Live & Loud 07 tonight. Kinda sad, but the festival will be back bigger and better next year (and hopefully with me part of it, eh Reymee?) It's been hectic but fun. Congrats to my friends who worked their asses off to pull it together.

You proved walaupun kita orang Malaysia, omputeh pun tak semestnya lebih bagus dari kita.
Semalam was World Music & Culture and Heritage night, so music dia tak ler tuk frantic sorts like me. Ada persembahan kebudayaan, then Mawi, Mila, Zahid... ramai la anggota keluarga Akademi Fantasia perform. Lebih 2,000 layan.

By the time they finished, tinggal lebih kurang dua ratus orang layan Zainal Abidin. Er... tak campur.

"Malam ni bukan malam world, tapi world music."

Some people just sound so bitter. Ok la..malas tulis pepanjang. My line is still wonky, even though the Streamyx techies I call says they've reset my port or whatever. Sheesh!

Menuju ke destinasi...yeah yeah!

Alahai...comeinya si Samihah nih main topeng lak time amik pic nih. Heh... amik ko!

Keluangman? Keluangwoman? Apapon, Misha looked good masa aku bumped into her backstage ketika Muzik Muzik separuh akhir Pop Rock kat Sri Pentas 2, Plaza Alam Sentral malam tadi.

Feeling restless, unlike the other two semifinals, aku merayap jer, catching most of the show either backstage, or in the wings itself to get a closer view, diselit ngan sesi gosip sana sini ngan kengkawan yang ramai ada.

Hah... ni dalam wardrobe room... tengok intense tak bebudak layan TV kicik ala ala kedai kopi gituh nak tengok competition camna.

Hazami dan group dia bernama Hybrid ada, si Fiq...ramai lah. Aku join meka kejap layan the earlier part of the show.

Time commercial break, mula ler mengular lagik. Memula jenguk our Datin Seri Siti Nurhaliza, or Datuk kalau nak kira title dia sendiri (independent woman gituh ada title sendiri ok!) yang final touches gituh. Pas borak jap, went back down to catch the show from backstage, in my seat and various other spots (gatai tol takleh dok diam) and caught Jac yang baru abih perform. Rock chick chic gituh...


Pretty much settled down pastu to enjoy the show. After dropping by the various areas one last time. Leh? Tu la akibat commercial break banyak. Jalan je keja aku.

Hah..jangan ingat nak wat show easy ok. It's a lot of waiting about that takes up most of your time. Sempat ler layan Mawi dan Felix gak, tapi time tuh tak amik pic.

Sat awhile to watch the rest of the show...

Masa time debaran nak umum, aku lepak ngan Audi and Aidit.

Aku dah speculate my choices sudah masa tuh.

I had already drawn up my four confirmed songs nak mara, and two yang aku rasa would fight for one last spot.

So far, I've been pretty accurate in my prediction, taking into account not just quality of compositions from various aspects, but also the popular appeal sekali ngan programming needs, all of which are enough to predict a line-up of tunes which will make Anugerah Juara Lagu 2007 (ironically enough held in 2008...leh?)

As they assembled everyone on stage just before the commercial break, aku pun snap some more pics. Hah...time nih tense abih dah. Artis semua atas pentas dah dag dig dug da jantung memasing.

Aku amik beberapa angle...sambil closer to home, Audi and Aidit were chatting away. Such a sense of urgency and priority gituh.

Looking front - the audience, back to the stars on stage and looking from behind the artists, their...erm... butts? Meanwhile, Audi Mok and Aidit Alfian find something better to do than snap pictures.


The commercial break seemed really long this time, so dalam nak layan bosan (suspen ilang pas the first two minutes di ganti ngan bosan). All three of us (Audi, Aidit and abang Eidil from Maestro), found out that we were wearing Crocs! Erm.. how interesting. Pop Croc night?

Er...what a load of croc? Ok, I'll stop now.

So they announced the songs, and ni la lagu-lagu yang layak. Instead of five, of course those of you who watched the show would have known that TV3 wat kejutan ala Akademi Fantasia, kata there would now be six songs from the Pop Rock category yang akan layak Anugerah Juara Lagu 22.

The songs that qualified are Farhana (Bumi Kenyalang) (composed by Denai, with lyrics by Andy Rahman and performed by Jinbara), Janjiku (Taja & Tass/Sofaz), Sembunyi (Aidit Alfian/Loloq/Misha Omar & Andy Flop Poppy), Itu Kamu (Estranged, Richard Lawrence Gimbang/Estranged), Angan Dan Sedar (M.Nasir/Loloq/Mawi) and Destinasi Cinta (Lin Li Zhen/PSNN/Datin Seri Siti Nurhaliza).

Woohoo! Aku teka betul, with Sembunyi and Farhana my fifith choice. Turns out both dapat, walaupun aku geli sikit lagu Farhana (sori ler sapa yang minat - aku tak minat tol lagu tuh)

Apapon, happy that Siti and Mawi especially akan berentap dalam final sebab kengkawan kan...tapi yang lebih penting, excited abih Estranged too akan berentap. Especially proud of Rich, walaupun memacam kutukan (termasuk dari aku...ngaku nih) time Akademi Fantasia, he's really proven himself, with HIS song in the final with HIS band. Cool!

Pada peminat Siti, suka tak rambut dia? Aku suka gila tengok style ala Farrah Fawcett from the original Charlie's Angels dia tuh. Rambut lentik ke belakang gituh.

Yang penting, yang wat rambut adik dia si Saerah tuh. Buat ngan begitu semangat sampai tangan melecur wo. Tu ler lain kali rilek, Saerah oi... heh...semoga sembuh cepat. Biar luka tangan, sempat posing sakan ngan injury. Makan hati ler tajuk albumnya pose maut tuh.
