Hari ni the day they decided on sapa layak Anugerah Juara Lagu 25 lepas the final semifinal. Aku separuh akhir ni, layan persembahan semua dari belakang pentas, nak amik feel camna debaran semua.
And also sebab dapat gosip dan lepak ketika show, borak-borak ngan semua kengkawan.
And here's your peek at what happens backstage.
Propkesayangan ramai ni. Kaki ala ala Upin dan Ipin ni da kena basuh la berkali bebudak pakai. Heh! Si Black dan Hafiz dan macam kembar Siam melekat kat badan da.
Sempat snappy si Tomok dan Black bersama... sebelum Tomok dihalau untuk tugasan dia... iaitu...
Tuh dia. Tugas Tomok? Nak jadi aerial bagi satu-satunya TV yang hado kat belakang pentas ni, yang bergantung live feed. Reception lak hado, so azab la semua kena harap reception ok. Ni si Tomok kena dera sebab dia berdiri sebelah TV tetiba baru ada gambar dan sound. Merasalah dia dipaksa jadik aerial demi kepuasan semua menonton backstage.
Comel tak kak Dibah pose dok rileks je. Si Ana dan Yuna pon ada, sempat snappy pic ni just before meka panggil semua onstage.
Belakang pentas lak ramai berkumpul. Ni snap pic API - Angkatan Pemuda Indie, three members at least ngan Din (Estranged), Loque (now known as monoLoque dan AJ (Popshuvit) sekali ngan Sam dari Bunkface.
And some others in Lan, Stacy, Adira, Ana dan Shahir.
And then - the announcement. Well, not yet. Ni masa semua tunggu ketika nak umum. Sempat agik tuh main-main atas pentas. I like this year sebab all the performers (most of them anyway) can get along and mesra, performing for the fun of it - and rileks je. Takde feel competition sangat sebab semua tak tekankan soal bersaing.
And finally - ni semua yang layak.
And ni full list semua yang layak. Especially pada anak-anak muda yang singer-songwriters yang represent the future of the music scene. You guys rock!

Still - it was a happy night, save for Aizat takde which cam lacking lak with the whole gang. It's going to be a great AJL - here's hoping for the best jury to make the right choices when the show is on next year (cam lama sangat padahal sebulan lebih je)
Firstly... rupanya kecoh gak aku post pics benda asing yang berada atas pentas kat Anugerah Juara Lagu. Kat forum Cari, aku da paste sana tuk discussion - rupanya sampai 60,000 views in just over three days.
Lom lagik beratus-ratus komen all together from various blog sites, forums and also Facebook dan Twitter accounts yang bersepah post the pictures I took.
Tak sangka aku ramai sangat suka cita paranormal nih. Pergh! Patutlah orang kata Mastika majalah nombor satu in the country. Walaupun...
Anyway, aku terpanggil untuk ulas sikit lagi pasal benda ni sebab ramai menyangkal apa aku jelaskan (obviously ada yang tak pandai baca.. so baca slow-slow ek.. aku taip perlahan-lahan tuk ko!)
Ini some pics yang da muncul - the first two dalam Facebook fan page Faizal Ismail and the last dalam forum Cari (tatau nak kredit sapa so aku kredit Cari forum sebab da paste sana - tuan punya sila bagitau kalao ini hang punya so aku kredit hang).

Now tengok balik pics aku. Like I said - the first pic aku amik (memula nak amik sebab ingat penari Faizal so nak blog kan wat lawak... until aku balik aku tengok balik pic tuh teringat balik banyak tak kena). Masa amik tuh, blur, so I took a second one. Masa nak amik the third, in the space of just seconds, benda tuh dah hilang.
So here's the pics, including the first pic aku tak penah posting, and the zoomed in one. Again, banding with the pics above.
Now... as I said before. MASIH JELAS (merasalah promo lagu Hafiz) yang benda tuh berada JAUH ke depan (bukan bahagian tengah stage) daripada tempat penari Faizal turun.
On top of that, it's too high - bukan pada scaffolding erected by TV3 for lighting (which was where penari Faizal berada). Kira kalao ko nampak dalam pic - benda tuh berada lebih tinggi dari the video screen box thingie dah.
I wish some people wouldn't terus kata tuh nih cam aku penipu, sebab siap ada yang katakan aku photoshop the pics. I have the original photos in my camera and anyone yang nak menyangkal kata aku touch up these photos, you're welcome to check my camera.
Ada yang katakan lighting - pantulan cahaya dan sebagainya. Which would have been fine if benda tuh muncul dalam gambar SAHAJA! How do you explain that lima orang dari tempat duduk media (different angle) nampak benda sama.
Aku mewakili The Malay Mail buat liputan, selain itu turut menyaksikan adalah Izwan Mohd Dan dari Metro Ahad dan Farihad Shalla Mahmud dari Berita Harian, selain dua orang teman lagik.
We saw the 'person' moving.
We noticed it looking at the audience, with minimal movements (aku nampak cam lambai).
We also noticed it disappearing.
So kalao sapa nak menidakkan.. pikirlah dulu. Aku bukan kata benda ni seharusnya yang siap berjubah ke berkain kapan ke haper. Walaopon sebenarnya nampak cam seseorang berambut panjang, berjubah dan membawa anak (matilah ko pepandai lagik add on).
But whatever it is - it is not a figment of our imagination, it is not lighting, it is not a camera trick, it is not photoshop and it sure as hell is NOT a lie.
Ehem... secondly... aku nak lepas geram ada yang tak puas lagu Pergi Pete Teo dan Amran Omar menang. Memacam spekulasi.
Now I know people will always have differing opinions.. which is ok sebab taste memasing.
Tapi yang geram bila orang menidakkan lagu ni sebab kata lemau dan sebagainya.
I chose this song as a possible winner in my prediction. And when it won and orang tak puas, aku malam tadi siap borak sorang anggota juri - who told me the vote was SEBULAT SUARA - UNANIMOUS yang Pergi was more than deserving.
Ada la bongok nak kata lagu ni lemau la takde dinamik la tak uji vokal la...
Kenapa orang kita nih nak glorify sangat lagu-lagu yang kena menjerit? Kat Malaysia nih, zaman 80and dan 90an kita disajikan dengan memacam lagu - lagu ballads and also rock yang sampai kuar anak tekak atau pecah kaca punya mengilai, menjerit, memekik dan yang sewaktu dengannya.
It's 2010 people!
Move on!
Pergi won because of the so many things - bukan sahaja kekuatan melodi, susunan struktur lagu tu dari segi komposisi, kesinambungan kandungan lirik dengan muzik, and the fact that ia jenis lagu bukan semua yang dapat sampaikan.
It's a song that many can sing - but few can emote, or menjiwakan.
And it was done well by Aizat.
Benci tol orang kata patutnya lagu A menang padahal lagu very the lagu 20 tahun lepas, lepas tuh performance tak kena langsung sebab ala ala nak bunuh orang dari mempersembahkan mesej lagu tu tang cinta.
Or lagu B tuh hanya kerana dapat memekik melolong sampai benda atas pentas tuh pun lari (or terbang) ketakutan!
Or C - hanya kerana comel la si drummer (motif??? ni dedicate kat si Chi yang menggedik)
Or even D sebab ramai kata lagu tu selalu keluar radio.
Hello, people. This is not a damn popularity contest. Kalao nak sangat have your say yang bijak pandai, then tengok Anugerah Bintang Popular. Tu bagi peminat kuasa memilih (time tu kalah lak kata stakat populariti takde kredibiliti lak).
The two most pretigious competitions dalam negara ni adalah Anugerah Industri Muzik dan Anugerah Juara Lagu.
Bab Anugerah Juara Lagu - it's about COMPOSITION. Pasal LAGU! Bukan samaada hang suka ka... laku ka... jual berapa ribu unit ka... mak ko kata sedap kat halwa telinga ka...
This is voted for by the industry - for the industry. PERIOD!
But AJL ni ada something different. It allows for the relevancy of popularity and also credibility.
Minggu demi minggu, peminat vote so it can go semifinal. Sampai semifinal one more vetting by jury, tuk ke final. Then baru sampai juara. So you had your damn say who deserved in. Kalao hazab la sangat tak layak Pergi, tak masuk pon.
Aku kalao korang nak carot lagu lain menang aku paham. But there are about five songs dari empat belas yang bertanding, which I thought had the POTENTIAL to win. And the strongest was Pergi. So deal with it.
Bosan la ada yang melalut lagi. Yang best nya ni pengkritik kedai kopi yang feeling tau segalanya. Cam pakcik pakcik yang melalut dari pagi ke petang cita pasal politik kat kedai kopi seperti meka la tau apa meka leh wat tuk selamatkan ekonomi dunia.
Grow up. Realise la sikit.. it's a competition. The noted best was recognised.
Camna la industri muzik kita nak grow kalao peminat sendiri kat tahap lama? Jangan nak demand artis dan syarikat rakaman je update sikit. Peminat pon. Ni tak.. banyak bunyi last last HADO beli album? Download MP3 haram je keja - kononnya freedom of information. Matilah ko piracy ko halalkan sesuka hati tak hormati intellectual rights orang.

I used to like American football a lot. My fave teams were Dallas Cowboys. Then there were the Buffalo Bills. Tapi kan sebelom aku merapu, this entry is not really about American football.
Ni pasal one of the players in the Buffalo Bills now.
His name is Ellis Lanksder and he kicks ass big time. Even though tak follow sangat da, kalao catch his play memang bagus la dak nih.
Tapi kan, he has one SERIOUS problem. He is a massive stutterer! Gagap! Merasalah Stacy muncul nyanyi lagu dia terus.

Now.. the real reason for this entry.
To show how creative some people out there are - that I wish were here. Some dude out there, took this footage, and made his own remix! Don't believe me? Check it out.. it's pretty good.
Creative, imaginative.. and rajin gila dowh nak dok edit on top of making the music to make it flow. Genius! I wish there were more people who thought out of the box in this country.
We need ideas to develop.
Or at the end of the day - Cam Tun Mahathir penah cakap.. kita ni just first world infrastructure, tapi tetap third world mentality!

Ok so I posted this pic smalam. I didn't say much about it... and most of you yang baca sini tak amik pot sangat pon pasal pic tuh.
Tapi pas aku paste kat forum, and ramai discuss about it, and aku risik sikit agik... banyak persoalan timbul - just a picture of WHAT did I take?

The facts of the case. Aku ngan kengkawan what looked like a person up there, tengah-tengah lagu Aizat - Kau Aku, sebelum Bencinta. I didn't think anything about it, neither did anyone sebab kami ingat penari Faizal Tahir yang turun pakai harness tuh.
But yesterday morning after I posted it more as a joke... so much was said about it, aku besarkan pakai Photoshop and cleared up the pic a little.
And this is the close-up.
The facts now are this.
1. Five of us saw the 'figure', and yes it wasn't an illusion of the light or anything. Because I was using a simple camera with not much of a zoom - you can't really see anything but a cloudy blurrd figure.
2. Among the movements were a sort of movement, like a wave. It also stared down at the audience.
3. Aku da bertanyakan orang kuat production TV3 dan setelah gambar dikaji, memang sesuatu yang pelik sebab - a. Bahagian beam dia dok tuh, terlalu jauh dari tempat bebudak penari Faizal yang pakai harness gayut. They came down in the middle of the stage area, above the pit that had hydraulics to lower or raise performers. This was right above the front end of the stage near the audience.
b. Tidak kelihatan kelibat pon orang lain - dan tak mungkin dancer unsupervised alone kalao betol. There had to be a technical/production person to act as a spotter and there was none. Besides, point a. pon da buktikan it's not a dancer.
c. Tempat itu terlalu jauh kedepan, memandangkan dia da keluar zon pentas, dan tidak ada staff production yang akan ke sana sebab tak ada kena mengena atau fungsi. On top of that - orang production akan pakai warna hitam sahaja.
d. Memang juga disahkan itu bukan pakaian penari Faizal.
So balik soalan nya. What is that in the picture? Bukan ilusi cahaya, kain terbang, penari Faizal yang gayut dari atas pentas mahupun ahli production. Renungkanlah.
The whole of last night borak ngan kengkawan yang da tengok pic ni and everyone tried to rationalise it.
Seb baik dua orang kawan yang nampak benda tu malam AJL ada sekali so meka pon backing story aku cakap what they saw.
And no one had an answer... a real answer. Spekulasi memacam.
Question is now - what did we see that was in the photographs?
Well it is a pretty good morning isn't it... after the splendid results of Anugerah Juara Lagu 24. Walaopon aku tau ada yang mesti merungut... sebab their favourites didn't win.
Boo to you then.. sebab I think the jury did a splendid job.
For those of you who missed the results - nih dia.
Juara Lagu : Pergi (Aizat/Pete Teo/Amran Omar) (RM35,000 and trophy)
Runner-up : Dan Sebenarnya (Yuna/Yuna/Yuna) (RM15,000 and trophy)
Third place : Bencinta (Faizal Tahir/Audi Mok/Faizal Tahir) (RM12,000 and trophy)
Best Vocal Performance : Black (Aku Rindu Sayang Kamu) (RM10,000 and trophy)
Best Performance : Aizat (Kau Aku) (RM10,000 and trophy)
So my prediction of Pergi memang betul.. as was my prediction of Bencinta in the top three pon being in second. My wildcard possibility of being in top three in Dan Sebenarnya made it beating Kau Aku, tapi prediction aku for Best Performance in Stacy was wrong when Aizat won for Kau Aku - which I mentioned masa dry run (check a couple of entries ago) that it had the possibility of a win after watching preparations.
As for Best Vocal - Black was nowhere in my list. That much I have to admit. So that was the only one aku tersasar gila babas punya.
Now before anything.. layan pic ni jap.
Nampak tak apa apa yang pelik?
Ni time masa Aizat tengah perform Kau Aku. Nampak tak benda putih wrapped in white.. erm... kalao iut watermark aku atas the second 'B'. Scary!
Tapi aku rasa ni antara penari terbang Faizal sebab pastuh dia perform Bencinta. Tapi erm.. yang ni cam dibalut kain putih. Argh!!! Horror! Mungkinkah... JANGAN TEGUR!
Apapon... kan aku da kata opening MELETOP! Aku menjerit cam orang gila. Siti and Lan... FANTASTIC! Best opening EVER in an awards show to date and it will be VERY DIFFICULT to top this collaboration.
Apapon... for those yang nak bitch about the results. Aku hanya leh explain the best I can for those yang tak paham jury choices.
By the way, sebelom apa-apa mai aku explain sapa jury and what they did.
Syed Ahmad Faisal Al-Attas atau lebih dikenali sebagai Pacai dan Hazami yang bertanggungjawab score for composition manakala Dr Wan Zawawi dan Fatimah Abu Bakar on lyrics, sementara Datuk Siti Nurhaliza, Zainal Abidin and Media Prima Television Networks group chief executive officer Datuk Seri Farid Ridzuan yang score for performances along with the other judges to make up for the 30% of the score untuk dicampurkan pada previous pre-judging by the assigned judges. Paham?
Ok... Pergi... berkali aku explain why this choice of my Juara Lagu - and the eventual winner was the best composition.
Memang lagu lain sedap - tapi Pergi ni lain. Lagu nih simple, but again like I always maintained, is COMPLEX in all its simplicity. From structure of the composition, to the simple but lyrics yang mendalam, Pergi memang kelainan. Plus on top of that, walaopon lagu ni senang dan ramai mampu nyanyi - but only someone like Aizat yang dapat menyelam ke dalam jiwa, and pull out those emotions could bring out the emotions of the song to make it an even more superb masterpiece!
And plus the AWESOME arrangement, with Linda doing the Indian style vocalization... dia start je aku da nitis airmata. It would take a heart of stone not to melt when you hear Pergi... especially this version.
Thank you Aizat for the experience... and for delivering the emotions. I'm sure... many are proud, and some would have been proud if they had been able to hear it...
Bencinta? I've always liked Bencinta. It's not run of the mill rock. And ramai biased sebab tak minat Faizal Tahir mostly kalao kata tak suka Bencinta, or perhaps not a fan of his style. But this is a song composition contest, and Bencinta is a unique and rather experimental piece of mainstream rock-flavoured pop.
And I sort of like the tribute to Michael Jackson. It was inspired by, and not an Adam Lambert meets Michael Jackson doused with Mad Max affair like Bengang became with horrible conceptualization.
Dan Sebenarnya, so may argue is the best sebab lyrical content dia. I don't doubt it is good, and deservedly among the winners, tapi I think it's not strong to go against Pergi, but again, layak to be in the best three.
Best Performance may not be expected - but neither did I. But Aizat did well with Kau Aku. Walaopon ramai bawak tiga empat kampung, and kids especially, Kau Aku worked well with it. There was a certain element of genuine honesty with the performance and I guess that's why the jury awarded it that. Admit it.. you felt like dancing with the kids too. A little Laskar Pelangi flavoured.
Best Vocal Performance. Well... ok.. I expected Misha technically, though she wasn't perfect. Or Stacy for her ability to hold her own despite the moves. But Black, according to Fauzi Marzuki, which I have to agree with, did something impressive from the lowest note to the highest, showing off his range, especially when he started outside the stadium. That I have to give credit to Black walaupon aku mencik lagu dia.
So anyway.. congrats to the winners. No matter what anyone says... you guys deserve the wins. And kengkawan kat TV3 especially to Gbam and Su and Co. - congratulations for the best show ever in AJL history. Walaopon camera angle kekadang gila... dan tak sheshuai!!! Still a lot of Astro productions can learn a lot from you.

PS - Tak paham sebilangan kecil yang otak sempit tak puas hati speku bagai hanya kerana bukan pilihan cliche yang menang. Rata rata kemenangan Pergi disambut baik penggiat seni - and fans of music, so this loud minority nak bising sebab something cliche tak menang. Sodih perangai. Educate yourself, bitches.
Semalam gi usha latihan for Anugerah Juara Lagu 24. The set looks interestingly impressive, walaopon kena pakai imagination sebab banyak lom siap.
The lighting and layout are impressive - tapi mana taknya, dengar meka abihkan RM2 juta for the production. Hope everything goes well.
Actualluy kalao leh aku tanak tengok latihan - sebab kang spoil penghayatan gituh pada the night of the event.
But since ni cam dry run je takpe la. Banyak performance masih in the stage of tweaking sana sini, so tengok je la.
Yang penting, opening Datuk Siti Nurhaliza... I LIKE!!! Meletop hawau! Not the usual Siti performance.
I won't say much, but aku paling suka dia duet ngan Lan - tanpa typewriter nya. Who would have guessed that the diva can rock it out. I guess you learn something new everyday.
Ni dia yang bakal kuar album rock - pepandai je aku.
A lot of the performances were interesting, awesome. And so far, my predictions (usha beberapa entry lalu) - tak ubah. Sama je... cuma, for Best Performance - aku rasa saingan akan diberikan kepada Stacy (yang dance break bagus gila) - from Aizat (untuk Pergi obviously but surprisingly Kau Aku pun best gak show), Faizal Tahir (Bencinta). Interesting to note is Hujan - yang akan wat flashmob!
Jangan terkejut... bangga aku. Inspirasi dari our KLCC flashmob. Mana taknya.. tukang wat pon orang sama. Heh! Korang tengok je la hasilnya.
Tapi rata-rata, dua elemen yang paling menonjol sebagai gimik persembahan AJL kali ni.
Kalao dulu kak Ani je bawak dua kampung ke atas pentas! Kali ni - ramai dirasuk membawa tiga kampung lak - tapi yang dirasuk nya semua pala batu - atau rockers.
Hujan, Bunkface, Aizat, Faizal Tahir.. penuh stage AND offstage. Oops. Tanak bagitau lebih.. kang spoil surprise korang.
Anyway dua elemen aku maksudkan - koir dan kanak-kanak. Lots of that tomorrow.
Tapi kan.. kalao ikut semalam, aku paling suka persembahan sapa tau. I was moved by Aizat doing Pergi. You have to see the montage playing.
But I was most moved by Faizal's performance of Bencinta.
Especially since he looked to be in so much pain. Dengan bertongkat, dengar Faizal is one painkillers sebab serious dia memang tak larat sangat nak wat. Still, semangat dia berjuang tuh, added to the pain of the song.. I don't know... it was touching in a way.
Noh nak wat reunion MIX dan Faizal nak reunion Mirwana (matilah aku carot)
Misha time out jap masa rehearsal pas abih slot dia
Supposed to go for ujibakat hari pertama Akademi Fantasia 8 kat Stadium Nasional Bukit Jalil. But with only two hours sleep in 36 hours or so... serious aku KO terus.
Slept maybe at about 3am... and woke up only 12 hours later! Matilah! But feel refreshed. Not going to watch the rehearsals sebab nak surprise element sikit. Lagikpon kengkawan mana aku leh bantu advise da pun bagi nasihat.. pepandai la memasing da besar panjang.
Apapon - here's to all the performers tomorrow - prove me right! (or in the case of those yang aku hazabkan - prove me wrong!)
Esok je gi ujibakat Akademi Fantasia - so sapa nak audition esok, see you there. Kita cam whore bersama ek!

Well... sebelom I get on to the full list of songs that made it, I want to wish congratulations kepada semua lagu yang layak berdasarkan kualiti komposisi dan bukan atas sebab sebab lain ye.
Laser semacam kan? Well, hakikat kan? At the end of the day, some songs yang qualified (memasing paham la mana satu) memang don't belong in the elite league of compositions which will face off kang masa di AJL.
To friends, I personally congratulate Alya, Estranged, Stacy and Misha kerana meka akan perform kat pentas akhir. To Aizat - I am especially proud of you cause it was a fitting tribute (whether you thought of it or not... and I'm sure she would be really proud too, bro, if she was here... cuma pasni jangan emo ke focus sangat sampai hanyut lupa lirik). To Hafiz and Akim - bangga ada gak anak-anak murid yang akan beraksi pentas AJL.
Aku happy for them personally.
To Yuna and Hujan, congrats - and pada orang kampung aku, Bunkface, you guys are the future of our music where there are talents who also sing their own compositions. You guys, Estranged and Aizat definitely deserve in for the new breed of talents we want to lead the way.

Aku tanak wat prediction sapa akan menang ke haper. Wat skang, personally tuk aku, aku rasa lagu paling kuat adalah Pergi dan Bencinta (tu pun kalao Shila tak nyanyi yang menyakitkan telinga sampai tahap Akim wat tuk konsert Akademi Fantasia JAUH lebih meletop! Shila pon meletop - ala Altantuya uols.. pasang C4 lebih sikit... cam hanjeng sangat!!!!!!!)
Aku sakit hati tol serious dengar Shila nyanyi. Nothing personal against her, but I think she is so unsuited for the song. Sora dia tuh sesuai stakat lagu Britney Spears yang feeling overproduced in the studio je.
Anyway, a few horrible songs aside, looks like Muzik Muzik kali ni memang planned out well. For the sake of production - memang kali ni a good mix of bands, solo vocals yang power, mellower delivery and pop offerings. All in all, production heaven. Is that good for music in general... entahlah.

So tuh je la. Malas meroyan agik panjang. Nak siapkan artikel tuk paper yang meroyan sepenuh nya dengan penuh analysis yang mendalam. Fuh! Katanya...
Heh... anyway korang perasan tak pas Shila nyanyi semalam. Pastu Ezlynn puji puji when done, pastuh dia kata... "... walaupun..." Pecah perot kami kat sana gelak.
Dalam berdarah telinga... gelak gila babiks kita semua. Eh ok la.. panjang lak kang meroyan.
Harini aku ada berita baik, tapi tanak bagitau pe pe kat sini. Cukup aku bersyukur kerana peluang nampaknya da terbuka tuk aku mengambil selangkah lagi dalam mengembangkan bakat aku ke disiplin lain dalam bidang hiburan sekarang.
But it was a good day today and aku kept busy with some stuff. Again takleh bagitau apa.
What I CAN share with you is something unrelated. Besok memang busy gila. I got to rush to TV3 to pick up something. Then make a dash to Kompleks Suka Bukit Jalil nak tengok ujibakat Akademi Fantasia, hari pertama. Then pas urusan peribadi sikit and a spot of shopping with Faz, nak ke Stadium Putra seberang jerk tuk layan rehearsal Anugerah Juara Lagu 23.
Following which I got to dash off to Damansara Perdana tuk pelancaran butik Belicious milik Umie Aida dan Betty. Da janji ngan Faz and Liyana to meet up so should be quite a night.

Apapon, back to cita Anugerah Juara Lagu on Sunday. Aku dengar pagi esok at 11am, bertempat di Sri Pentas, Bandar Utama, the final voting will be going on. Aku dikhabarkan senarai mereka yang menjadi juri. Setuju sangat hampir semua nama termasuk penyanyi, pencipta lagu dan sebagainya. Cuma dua nama je aku rasa very the tak perlu. But oh well. Let's just hope for the best.
Ada ke keputusan bocor. Eeee... tak mungkin. Kalao aku tahu pun (cam sebelom ni penah jadik) aku diamkan jerk.
But on bab Anugerah Juara Lagu 23 nih, aku baru sedar aku lum wat predictions. So here they are.
So ni lagu-lagu yang akan bertanding Ahad nanti di Stadium Putra Bukit Jalil, secara langsung menerusi TV3 pada jam 9.00malam hingga 11.30malam.

So what are my predictions sapa akan menang? Ok let me just say this first. A good song - is a subjective matter indeed. So mungkin apa sorang suka, sorang agik tak suka kan?
For me, the kriteria of judging should not be based on the definition of best as in the technical approach of things, because there is no way to ascertain that. Those are following factors that should apply.
For me - what makes a song good - will be the uniqueness and fresh appeal of a tune. Does the song sound tired and a repeat of something that may have been done before, and it's relevancy to the business today. Subjective again perhaps - but a more reliable measure to judge by.
On that note, my predictions.
ETNIK KREATIF Honestly... korang nak aku buang masa predict ke? Ok.. senang. Doa Dalam Lagu. Not because it's that good. But it's the best of the worst. Ngan competition dari lagu-lagu camni, baik buang je kategori ni sebab memang this category drags down the standards of the whole competition.
Bagi meka yang kat stadium ke kat rumah, time persembahan lagu-lagu ni memang tak mustahil penonton gunakan tika ni tuk gi jamban ke haper jer. PREDICTED WINNER : Doa Dalam Lagu (Etnik Kreatif/Zahid dan Heliza/Ajai/Loloq)
POP ROCK This is where the competition gets a lot tougher. Baru nampak sikit saingan.
For me secara jujur lagu paling lemah sini lagu Aku Stacy. This is followed by Bukan Di Sini.
Tuk kategori Pop Rock, it's a three cornered fight antara Yang Pernah, Kalis Rindu dan Lagu Untukmu. And I think Kalis Rindu yang pertama tercicir if it boils down to this.
So we have two bands who rock the house being the possible winner here. Both from the new school of Malay rock. It could go either way in terms of the overall compositions and their updated take of the genre today. PREDICTED WINNER : Yang Pernah - tapi menang photo finish ni. Sengit gila.
BALADA Ni lagi satu kategori yang memang gila babiks nya tough fight. Tolak tepi lagu Dingin dan Hanya Di Mercu for sounding like something that was released 10 years ago - and nothing spectacular at that (trivia time - lagu haper la yang leh layak ngan lirik dengam perkataan CECITA... meletups!)
Also tolak tepi Bila Nak Saksi. No offence, but tuk aku, again kalao lagu Mabuk, mungkin Spider stand chance. But not on this song.
So again three cornered fight. Of which I think Cuba will fall by the wayside first, walaupon aku rasa tu personal favourite aku.
So the fight will be between Lagu Kita and Sampai Syurga. PREDICTED WINNER : Sampai Syurga pas juang habis habisan ngan saingan in a simple but beautifully written Lagu Kita.
JUARA LAGU Honestly aku tak berani pilih walaupon tuk prediction. So my guess, depending on whether the judges are all above 35 or not, will be Yang Pernah or Sampai Syurga. Yes, their age and background have everything to do with it too.
When things get too hard - look at who the judges are and you may guess their choices right.
My guess is Sampai Syurga may just win this. But again - I'm saying if both songs indeed win their category as I predicted Yang Pernah stands the best chance to make it a second win for Estranged again. Just knowing the judges, I doubt it.
For Best Vocal Performance aku dapat rasakan Aizat, Estranged and Faizl Tahir stand the best chance, though I really don't know sebab tak tengok rehearsals lagik tuk judge. Just guessing based on their past record. . For Best Performance, Stacy, Estranged, Faizal Tahir stand chance walaopon aku guessing again. Will let you guys know if I change my mind pas tengok rehearsal esok.
