Tickets are RM330, RM220, RM190 and Rm130 but you can get these Elite Passes FREE to watch K-Ci & Jojo, Mint Condition, Lil'G of Silk, Mark Douglas, Taufik Batisah, Nikki, Jaclyn Victor, Azan (Ruffedge), Lah(VE) and Mode. I have no idea what the seats are like or where they are or whatever...but hey...they're FREE!!! (Malaysians love that word, right?)

Am dead tired because I just got back from the Live & Loud 07 80s show with James Ingram, Kool & The Gang and Hazami, which was also at Stadium Negara.

It's just simply AWESOME. One thing for sure, the performers are all top notch, and the production of the show like no other concert you've seen or heard in Malaysia.

I usually get b****y about concerts here because of lousy sound systems or nightmare acoustics, but this...was simply awesome (all the more reason you guys shouldn't miss winning the tickets).

Energetic show - boogie all night long.


As you can see from the pics, it was really a fun time. Hazami was pretty good, tapi yang best nya, masa James Ingram performed, he actually got off stage and layan everyone in my section of the arena. Cool!

Sapa yang minat tapi tak gi, rugi siot. He sang all his biggies! As did Kool & The Gang! They've got so many hits in their catalogue, it's not funny, sebab aku dah semput asik menari, and there was no stopping, because I seemed to know every song (I'm not old... I... erm...listened to...erm... my parents' collection?)

A salute to the Kool guys, one of whom noticed me freaking disco-style in the front row and waved to me, pointing out my hair. Erm... red is very attention grabbing, that's for sure.
Got an invite from Reymee, the head honcho of Live & Loud 07 to join the private post party with the band, tapi memang letih gila, so torn between wanting to go and boogie some more or not.

I'm not as big a fan of Kool & The Gang, but it was the thought that counted, and it was sweet of Reymee to invite me, so props to you dude!

Apapun, I have to compliment you la mate sebab ko rilek jer throughout the whole show walaopon apa berlaku. I am so proud to know someone yang muda muda, dah berani nak take all this on. If it were me, I would have either gone crazy ke...warded terus sebab tak tahan all the stress.

Reymee was my junior in college (a big shout out to Ocean Institute of Audio Technology - 241B!) yang memang ramai produce orang industry skang.

Dia nih memang humble giler. Masa aku kuar college aku da dengar mamat ni nyanyi, tapi tak sangka we crossed paths again when Innuendo nak kuar album (yeap, the one with Belaian Jiwa - everyone's favourite karaoke tune) and I interviewed them. Terkejut gak aku...but who would have thought...I'd be on the other side.

Apapon - dude, you've gone far, and just keep chasing your dreams! No matter what. Kalau ada sesapa masih ingat dan minat Innuendo, here's a pic of Reymee and I. The coolest, and now most busiest dude in town (muka pun nampak letih giler walaopon senyuman menyembunyikan stress memacam)


By the time we ended, memang aku rasa nak pengsan. Letih siot! Dancing throughout the night takes its toll (actually it was dancing on and off for an hour or so, with the rest of the time sitting on my ass too lazy to move anything apart from my head)Did I go to the post party. Nope... but got to meet Kool & The Gang anyway pastuh to interview them. Coolness.


Esok ada interview ngan James Ingram, tapi sibuk ngan KLIFF, so no go on that. Got to catch some shut eye now. Cheers!


PS - Sapa layan aku pagi tadik kat Astro Awani, jangan carut aku ek sebab rupa aku ngantuk sangat. Aku half asleep on the program, tambah lagik takde orang nak bangkang point aku. Heh...ok ler tuh. Kira menang tanpa bertanding.

Menuju ke destinasi...yeah yeah!

Alahai...comeinya si Samihah nih main topeng lak time amik pic nih. Heh... amik ko!

Keluangman? Keluangwoman? Apapon, Misha looked good masa aku bumped into her backstage ketika Muzik Muzik separuh akhir Pop Rock kat Sri Pentas 2, Plaza Alam Sentral malam tadi.

Feeling restless, unlike the other two semifinals, aku merayap jer, catching most of the show either backstage, or in the wings itself to get a closer view, diselit ngan sesi gosip sana sini ngan kengkawan yang ramai ada.

Hah... ni dalam wardrobe room... tengok intense tak bebudak layan TV kicik ala ala kedai kopi gituh nak tengok competition camna.

Hazami dan group dia bernama Hybrid ada, si Fiq...ramai lah. Aku join meka kejap layan the earlier part of the show.

Time commercial break, mula ler mengular lagik. Memula jenguk our Datin Seri Siti Nurhaliza, or Datuk kalau nak kira title dia sendiri (independent woman gituh ada title sendiri ok!) yang final touches gituh. Pas borak jap, went back down to catch the show from backstage, in my seat and various other spots (gatai tol takleh dok diam) and caught Jac yang baru abih perform. Rock chick chic gituh...


Pretty much settled down pastu to enjoy the show. After dropping by the various areas one last time. Leh? Tu la akibat commercial break banyak. Jalan je keja aku.

Hah..jangan ingat nak wat show easy ok. It's a lot of waiting about that takes up most of your time. Sempat ler layan Mawi dan Felix gak, tapi time tuh tak amik pic.

Sat awhile to watch the rest of the show...

Masa time debaran nak umum, aku lepak ngan Audi and Aidit.

Aku dah speculate my choices sudah masa tuh.

I had already drawn up my four confirmed songs nak mara, and two yang aku rasa would fight for one last spot.

So far, I've been pretty accurate in my prediction, taking into account not just quality of compositions from various aspects, but also the popular appeal sekali ngan programming needs, all of which are enough to predict a line-up of tunes which will make Anugerah Juara Lagu 2007 (ironically enough held in 2008...leh?)

As they assembled everyone on stage just before the commercial break, aku pun snap some more pics. Hah...time nih tense abih dah. Artis semua atas pentas dah dag dig dug da jantung memasing.

Aku amik beberapa angle...sambil closer to home, Audi and Aidit were chatting away. Such a sense of urgency and priority gituh.

Looking front - the audience, back to the stars on stage and looking from behind the artists, their...erm... butts? Meanwhile, Audi Mok and Aidit Alfian find something better to do than snap pictures.


The commercial break seemed really long this time, so dalam nak layan bosan (suspen ilang pas the first two minutes di ganti ngan bosan). All three of us (Audi, Aidit and abang Eidil from Maestro), found out that we were wearing Crocs! Erm.. how interesting. Pop Croc night?

Er...what a load of croc? Ok, I'll stop now.

So they announced the songs, and ni la lagu-lagu yang layak. Instead of five, of course those of you who watched the show would have known that TV3 wat kejutan ala Akademi Fantasia, kata there would now be six songs from the Pop Rock category yang akan layak Anugerah Juara Lagu 22.

The songs that qualified are Farhana (Bumi Kenyalang) (composed by Denai, with lyrics by Andy Rahman and performed by Jinbara), Janjiku (Taja & Tass/Sofaz), Sembunyi (Aidit Alfian/Loloq/Misha Omar & Andy Flop Poppy), Itu Kamu (Estranged, Richard Lawrence Gimbang/Estranged), Angan Dan Sedar (M.Nasir/Loloq/Mawi) and Destinasi Cinta (Lin Li Zhen/PSNN/Datin Seri Siti Nurhaliza).

Woohoo! Aku teka betul, with Sembunyi and Farhana my fifith choice. Turns out both dapat, walaupun aku geli sikit lagu Farhana (sori ler sapa yang minat - aku tak minat tol lagu tuh)

Apapon, happy that Siti and Mawi especially akan berentap dalam final sebab kengkawan kan...tapi yang lebih penting, excited abih Estranged too akan berentap. Especially proud of Rich, walaupun memacam kutukan (termasuk dari aku...ngaku nih) time Akademi Fantasia, he's really proven himself, with HIS song in the final with HIS band. Cool!

No? Tuh...cover muka sikit sikit tuh sambil gelak. It's... Velvet! Hah...amboi bertahan agik dia dan Rich 'teman tapi mesra' ek! Sampai mai support. Not really a surprise sebab masa launch In Hating Memory, album Estranged kat Laundry Bar pun Velvet ada. Tapi time tuh takleh cakap apa sebab ramai kuarga Akademi Fantasia hadir sekali.

Apapon, doakan terbaik bagik meka. Selain Khai dan Rosma, nampaknya hanya Rich dan Velvet jer bertahan antara couples dari program tuh.

It was now time for press conference. Sempat tuh dalam soal jawab, amik pic nih. Time tu, si botak tengah dok signal sigal saja carut mencarut. Merasalah ko Mawi. Happy ek masuk! All the best ler.... janji show meletop!

Yang penting, yang wat rambut adik dia si Saerah tuh. Buat ngan begitu semangat sampai tangan melecur wo. Tu ler lain kali rilek, Saerah oi... heh...semoga sembuh cepat. Biar luka tangan, sempat posing sakan ngan injury. Makan hati ler tajuk albumnya pose maut tuh.

Ayuh!

Entry earlier mengenai Tirai Akademi Fantasia bahagian dua, bayangkan...aku upload ketika kat Planet Hollywood.

Sebenarnya, aku da prepare entry malam semalam time tengok the programme, tapi tak sempat upload.

Anyway, sampai lak sana, jumpa tobymiaw (hah...ko hengat aku tak kenal ko ek!), yang datang sekali ngan Budiey.

Cari tempat, tapi ada orang lupa booking meja..Sentap gak, tapi nasib baik banyak gak pilhan meja member nak nompang...I have such good friends. Last last tumpang meja Hazami yang main table jer.

The first set of the show was amazing, tapi sayang pendek sangat, aku rasa below the standard of 45 minutes. Yang penting tetap bak choir enam ke tujuh orang.

Tu lum campor backing vocal tiga orang.

But the show was awesome...and masa tengah break tuh ler yang aku dok bosan tunggu start, kuar ler teman setia aku, my laptop.

Online je, ada yang nun jauh di Langkawi kebetulan online. Aduh...best nya rasa bila dia mesej (this part if personal so jangan baca kalao menyampah -HAH!)

So chat sikit...sambil tuh aku posting ler entry yang last tuh. Last last on webcam!

Sebab dia da lama tak jejak Planet Hollywood katanya...lagikpun rasa rugi tak dapek tengok Hazami live, so aku pon on ler webcam. Gelap gelita katanya...

Bila da abih update, sambung chat to pass the time. Anti social tol kan...layan laptop tak mengGROkan diri seperti biasa walhal ramai member yang ada malam tuh.

Menyibukkan diri sangat,tak perasan mula mula si Misha dok belakang aku je. Erm...sayang aku lebih penting (amik ko).Misha wasn't the only artiste in the house. Spotted Sarah, Amylea and also Nikki among others. Dayang tak jadik datang. Sayang tol...

Tapi dalam pasang webcam tuh, siap dedicate song pelbagai...seronok lak feeling romantic ni.

The highlight of the whole vocal powerhouse showcase was the combination of medley of hits by Sarah, Amylea dan Nikki yang memang menerima tepukan gemuruh.

Well, that's understating it..riuh siot cam Planet Hollywood nak roboh lak. It was that good!!!

Tapi nak review pepanjang aku bagik orang lain jer buat ek. Tapi merasalah power the four young (muda agik ke Mi?) divas.

Orang tersayang pun layan kata besh...amik ko semua kuarkan sora. Sarah was in her element and power vokal dia memang tak dapat dinafikan. Nikki lak was the opposite of Sarah's sound, but matched her with her higher range.

Amylea mungkin tak dapat menandingi suara kedua meka, tapi persembahan dia tetap mantap.

She kept up alright...no problems.

The show went on, and asik dedicate lagu kat si 'dia'...HEH!

Anyway, we had a whale of a time and walaupon aku sebenarnya da malas nak ke Sunday Nite Live showcase sebab paling menci nak jadik zombie (ala ala Heliza) on Monday mornings, this was one show that I wouldn't have missed for the world.

Anyhoos...mula mula nak balik, tapi last last menyimpang ke bahagian opis lepak jumpa ngan Hazami sat.

Tu yang one thing aku suka pasal Planet Hollywood. It's practically my second home. Gi sana tak rasa janggal ke out of place. Ever...

Walaopon staff baru dia sorang dua bangang nak mampos dan feeling tak kuasa nak layan.

Matila abih pizza pun tak nampak Tabasco sauce yang di minta. Keji lah idop ko...but I love you Sharina (huggies and kissies for you gorgeous!)

Pot pet lama lama...mmm..kuarkan ler webcam terus

Cam ada ilham je nak wat something...so start ler (merasalah ada yang mengikut pakai handphone! - amik ko inspiring the filmmakers of tomorrow gituh!)

Anyways, kami tengah melantak tuh, aku notice a familiar face.

Actually terperasan suara dia dulu baru terperasan orangnya.

It took me more than a second, sebab the others didn't seem to notice or care at all...

Aku pun tegur...hey!!!

I mean ramai ramai budak budak vocal group Hazami ni memang familiar dan aku kenal, tapi this one familiar, aku kenal, but not from the group.

Dari mana ek...then it hit me!!!

Pada sapa yang ada menonton Mukhsin dah...korang mesti ingat tak watak ayah Orked.

Hah...yang moka comel (agak hensem gak) ngan sora serak yang menggoda tuh) dan rupa pun kekadang melawak.

Anyways, mai aku perkenalkan Pak Atan yang sebenarnya...yang kekadang aku tengok tak sebegitu jauh bezanya dari the character in the movie, cuma mungkin he looks and acts younger on the outside...

Merasalah nak introduction walaopon aku pun tak kenal sangat background dia.

All I know is, nama dia Irwan iskandar, nama manja Wan, dan dia ada berlakon in Yasmin's first movie, Rabun. Selain dari tuh, memang dia ada berlakon, dan jangan terkejut, dia memang terer menyanyi.

Tapi sapa yang menggatal, bini dia pun penyanyi dan penari...hah! And both of them were part of Hazami's vocal group. Dapat ler kenal dia lebih dekat and chat with him.

By the time we all headed back it was something like almost 4am. Matilah...

Nice meeting you Wan. Arituh actually masa premiere Mukhsin tak sempat berteguran ngan dia...agikpun ngan adanya kak Yasmin, kak Fati, Nani, kak Dibah...dan ramai agik member, memang takde masa pon nak tegor sapa.

Agikpun time tuh tak kenal so segan gak.

Ok ler...ni ada keja ni. Jangan lupa tonton Diari Akademi Fantasia malam ni.

ita tengok apa cita ari ni, dan adakah budak budak terpilih tu akan membuktikan andaian ramai salah yang Akademi Fantasia musim kelima tidak sehampeh seperti yang dirasakan.

Dahler torture satu, I notice certain people with body odour get a lot more offensive in this weather.

Oh...one more thing, semalam sebelom aku layan Tirai part two tuh, aku gi ler jumpa member kat Cheras sat sebab besday dia. Time aku sampai meka da pun gerak ke Carrefour kat sebelah, walaopon janji nak lepak Starbucks (matilah janji tak leh tunggu aku walaopon aku kira tak lewat gak).

Masa kat check out counter, I notice this assortment of condoms and lubricants (yang sapa yang tatau what these things are, you shouldn't ask)

Anyways, there was this brand of Durex punya which claimed itself as 'pleasure enhancing arming lubricant'. Aiyo!!!

And I thought the vibrating condoms were funny!!!

Anyways, there was this little tag on it (tengok pic tak jelas sangat but you can just make it out), which says BLOW TO ENHANCE!

That's pretty obvious and I think no one needs direction for that....or did they mean something to do with the lubricant?

Busy busy busy

Today got up early, and started work immediately. That's what feeling good can do for you. Some of us get paid to make a living and do what we do, so takyah ler complain kan.

Essentially, names and titles don't matter, neither does self glorification for grabbing credit for others' work...cause there's a difference when you're in charge of what you do, rather than being hired help out for that limelight.

Rushed a little pas abih settle four articles. Ada meeting ngan Jac kat Habib Jewels with Zura, jer designer.

We're supposed to pick more jewellery today. So hooray for that...looking at more diamonds.

We were a little late sebab of some complications, and when we got there, it immediately started raining.

My goodness, bila ler nak let up on the showers ni.

Jac was already picking pieces, so me and Zura got straight to it, helping her go through a collection of sparklers.

Sambil wat tuh, lari keluar kejap kejap sebab nak bantu lak Nizam dan Wanie as well as pihak Habib Jewels tuk pilih barang barang perhiasan (perhiasan...such a simple word for expensive items) for Mawi dan Rosyam before the photo shoot which we hope to hold by next week.

Rupanya, as esxpected, sib baik I called for a seperate meet nak pilih dulu barang barang seperti cincin, brooches dan sebagainya, because nak jaga sensitiviti peminat.

Yerlah...nak gold in whatever form takleh. So kena redah carik men's collection dia yang ikat suasa and so on. Also, we had to find items appropriate untuk design baju Mawi dan Rosyam.

In between this and that, Jac kept calling nak pastikan each piece tuh kena ke tak.

Aiyo...cantik nya barang kemas...and I don't mean the staff ok...I mean the actual jewellery (lame...but not too truthful joke).

We got this gorgeous pair of earrings, which I thought befitted Jac very well.

Moved about 3am...not too late...tapi takkan nak tunggu subuh baru balik.

One of my favourite performances of the night for the sheer impromptu horror, and yet amusement of M. Nasir and Mawi pakai wig, aku give two thumbs up! Three thumbs up kalau aku Hrithik Roshan!!!

Memang kelakar abih...but not in a degrading manner to the performance.

Walaupun aku admit vocally ada ler out sana sini, lari tempo dan pitching, serta kesemputan light light, but all in all, it was the most spontaneously entertaining show I've seen in a long time.

Kudos to Mawi and abang Nasir sebab korang rock the house. There is no right or wrong in rock (though I still draw the line if you sound like Neves).
Tahniah gak kat kak Marlia Musa for idea last minute gila babas dia nak pakaikan laki dia dan Mawi rambut palsu.

Tapi selain this weird take of wigs, aku nak bagik style icon award kat beberapa orang gak for daring to be different.

Of course kalau korang pasang radio pagik tadik korang mesti dengar orang carut Dayang sebab baju dia yang terlampau seksi time dia selak sana selak sini.

I lurve it!!! Of course it came out a little wrong...and any woman knows you don't wave your thingamajig like that...but all in all she looked fantastic and that's what counts. Very Beyonce, Dayang.

Tapi kain tuh...erm...lain kali jangan pakai ler yang nampak murah sangat. Cut da cantik da tuh...but what is it...satin? It looks a little cheap...or maybe it's the lack of detailing and embellishments.

Memang meletup. Takyah susah susah tema fusion yang tak jadik tuh sebab ramai artis trie too hard. Despite the simplicity of the outfit, Dayang stood out for the right reasons.

Ella punya baju was a little confusing. Aku kind of like it dari jauh masa kat stadium...and ramai yang tengok kat TV pun puji.

Tapi pelik gak baju dia nih..cam balut kain kapan pun ada...erm...or does she look like she's wearing a tank top and then a bedsheet. Apapun, Ella ni pun style icon, sebab only she can ear something like this and get away with it. Kind of like Amy Search, who I still maintain is Malaysia's only real metrosexual! Pakai apa pun lawa jer...some people have it and some poeple just don't...and Ella is one of those who does have it, like Dayang.

Oh by the way...dia kaki ayam pun bukan kali pertama ok. So Elyana takyah berangan yer (we'll get to that in a little while)

But the true iconic style award I want to dish out, goes to none other than,Ning Baizura!

So very the grandiose gituh pakai baju Dominique Chen. Again...screw the theme. Ning just looked FABULOUS! No other words to describe it!!!Undoubtedly, she is Malaysia's very own Madonna with her constant reinvention.

Ok...so a lot of artistes try and reinvent themselves too...but rarely it works out like it does for Ning, and I am proud to be associated with Ning for all it's worth.

I've watched Ning grow...and believe you me, she deserves everyounce of praise that comes her way for the sheer effort she puts into everything.

Yerlah...dalam nak puji tuh...kena lah puji orang nih gak.. how else could I have decided to work alongside with him for several things now kalao bukan kerana excellent sense of fashion dia dalam memilih aku tuk realise some of his chosen looks for his stable of artistes.

Ni posting dan ulasan secara langsung Anugerah Industri Muzik 13.

Gelak? Well...they can stop me going but they can't stop me writing...kan?

After all, music belongs to everybody.

Again I stress...music is NOT elitist!

Decided to do something yang aku tak penah buat, which is post immediately ulasan aku as the show is going on in the comfort of home...again something I've never done when it comes to events like this.

Aku mula posting ni sebaik saja opening number berkumandang..

First thing that caught my eye was the stage. Walaupun konsep menggunakan plasma screens kerapkali kelihatan ketika anugerah-anugerah, I thihnk this time the implementation not as exciting, though I have to say at least it makes a difference.

Satu aspek aku pelik bab stage ni, perasan tak tahun ni bersegi tiga aja design dia. Backdrop dia...the stage. Not very good feng shui...camno tu...patut ler kontroversi. Next time consult ler feng shui master ek tuk rekabentuk pentas.

The stage itself nampak cramped. Sempit sangat without much performance area.
V.E.memulakan show dengan Rentak Diso which was decent I suppose., tapi kinda tired punya show. We've seen it a million times from them. Tanpa gimik dengan choreography yang tak sharp, it's a little dissapointing ler for an opening act yang patutnya lebih power.

Sejurus jer lengkap persembahan, Afdlin Shauki and Bob Lokman came on. Someone tell Bob to get a proper tailor for clothes that fit, and a proper haircut.The jokes were kinda lame, tanpa much input daripada Bob. Tak payah ler lawak bangang pasal memancing ke...masak asam pedas ke haper...I mean seriously. Not only is the subject dated...execution tak ada langsung.Rambling...rambling...

"Artis datang dan pergi, tapi pemuzik boleh tinggalkan alat muzik untuk orang lain gunakan"

What an intelligent quip. Wonder how long it took for him to come up with that.

Afdlin did a Billy Crystal by showing off his vocal prowess, which would have been quite nice, until Bob decided to join and sent many rushing for earplugs and those at homes, their remote controls to cut off the volume.

Nice for them to pay tribute to the musicians yang usually orang keramaian tak kenal like musicians in Jamie Wilson, Hillary, Steve Thornton, Andy, Ujang and Aubrey Suwito as well as backing voals (though I think tu tak perlu sangat ler...)

All in all, I think the presentation took about 10 minutes, which if you think about it could have been put to better use by giving some talents on stage to perform.

The commercial break ends at about 8.55pm, which means half an hour of programming dah terbazir camtuh jerk. Adus...when they going to learn to make the most of the millions watching.

Eh...muka Dina lak keluar kat kaca TV. Erm...no komen.

Amy Mastura dan Sarimah Ibrahim bagik the first award.

Didn't quite like what they were wearing, but the duo memang lively and bubbly. Nothing fresh in their banter, tapi quite straight to the point.

I couldn't think of an act deserving like V.E., walaupun saingan sengit in the form of Raihan and Rabbani.

Terpaksa berdepan ngan muka Bob Lokman lagi sebelum the next performance, which was the much awaited duet between Hazami dan Siti Nurhaliza.

Alamak! Siap ada iringan penari ala RTM, complete ngan baju glitter. Tolonglah...that went out in the Eighties.Firstly I have to say this is one of the few times yang Siti dressing kira kena la...cantik, pakai pants and jacket yang flattering cut. The colour could have been better, but she did look gorgeous.

Hazami was more plain, but definitely not in the vocal aspect.
It was a good combo, though aku masih tak paham pilihan lagu Getaran walaupun aku akui entertaining.

Bukan ke lebih baik kalau Siti membawa lagu daripada album Transkripsi? I'm sure Hazami pun ada lagu-lagu yang boleh diketengahkan.

"Terserlah kejantanan Hazami disebelah Siti Nurhaliza?" Bob Lokman again makes an irritating prat out of himself.

Siap introduce Nurul dan Ajai as pasangan yang halal dan dihalalkan. Apa hal lu...
Kesian lak Ajai punya monologue sounds so scripted. Perasan tak by the way, Nurul cam rupa Linda dari Akademi Fantasia lak...cuma versi lebih tan.

Siti Nurhaliza - Siti Nurhaliza In Concert at Royal Albert Hall, London

Aku memang bersyukur Siti menang. Dah bertahun aku tak sorak camni tuk Siti. Walaupun ada ler sikit kesedihan bukan Adibah, tapi it was overwhelmed by kepuasan bukan Dina (yang aku rasa memang tak layak dicalonkan sekali pun) ataupun Anita Sarawak (non-Malaysian) yang menang. Lagipun, memang vocal Siti dalam the live album tuh meletups gak.

AIM bersambung ngan Afdlin introduce the line up for the next performance yang merupakan mereka yang tercalon dalam Artis Baru Terbaik.

Sharifah Zarina started the show with Langit Ke-7. She looks so pretty in that dress (except for those fabric tentacles sprouting from the side of her dress). Classic beauty. Too bad suara dia seperti tak kesampaian.

Adibah came on with Terlalu Istimewa showing why after 12 years, the industry made a mistake in thinking she wouldn't amount to anything.

Awmigawd....feel dia. Rasa nak nitis airmata. Proud that she has come this far after all her struggles...not to mention, unline anugerah-anugerah atau event sebelum ni, baju dia kelihatan erm...not so nice, this time she looked fabulous.

Jac was next dengan Tunggu Sekejap. Baju meletup! The best dress I've seen lah so far. Close up pun make-up flawless! Vocals? As usual, Jac memang dependable bab tu. Cuma some of her ad-libs over the top. Still in other parts, it added her individuality and uniqueness to the song.Aku lari cari remote controlo sat bab Dina masuk.

Tak sempat mute, and bateri habis, so terpaksa layan.Tengok dia...teringat si Mek dari Salam Pantai TImur (tak kenal takper) Cuma Mek cerah sikit.

Tak perlu ler backing dancers, feeling siot all out ada pihak seolah nak perjuangkan dia siap ngan pyrotechnics lagik. Ada dance break, tapi takde tarian? Camna tu? Setakat libas rambut? Penting ke?

Pakai cam ala Brokeback Mountain tapi feeling J. Lo?

Dan dance break tuh cam kenal jer drumline dia? tebas dari lagu orang lain ker...sedih ler kalao nak layan yang camni....buang masa jer ada dalam line up. Dah sah ler minah ni tak tahan lama...

Ahli Fiqir Dan 7 Penyamun was the next song out. Aku bab ni impressed, sebab meka perform kira up to mark. Cuma memang aku dari peringkat awal sudah membantah kehadiran Ahli Fiqir di dalam AIM simply because AIM adalah anugerah untuk industri muzik Malaysia dan the simple fact is they're not Malaysian.

Good show, but they were there for me as a selingan saja.

Minah Ahli Fiqir tuh (terlupa nama) cantik, and dressed to theme ala Arabian, dan berkaki ayam. Teringat dulu masa Emmett Butterfingers perform camtuh gak.

Etty Farhana dan Siti Sarah came on next. Who the freak is Etty? Popular ke? Ada album ke? Nampaknya siapa-siapa saja leh onstage sekarang. Sampai Sarah pun panggil dia Hetty.

Sarah lak? Kesian...kalau dulu dia la menjadi the toast of AIM, this time around setakat reduced to presenting an award bila album entah kenapa tak layak untuk apa pun pencalonan.

Aku tak setuju dengan pilihan Jac bukan sebab I don't recognise her talent, but because I feel she did not win on merit.

After all, the technical specification untuk layak untuk kategori iniis that the album must be a debut! Tapi Gemilang merupakan her second, dan entah kenapa Akademi melepaskan album dia untuk contention in the first place.

Flop Poppy dan Nitrus were the closest competition, but Awie was definitely deserving.
Kenapalah rock sampai ada dua kategori ni...untuk pop rock dan hard rock lak? Gila ke apa?

Memang deserving ler. Aku rasa tahun ni, selain Raihan, hanya Siti je yang challenger tuk anugerah ni kerana stint Royal Albert Hall dia dan tour Jakarta dia.

Tapi aku rasa memang Raihan layak sebab of their world tour. Hiburan sambil berdakwah...insaf kejap!

Tak tahan lama keinsafan aku si Jason Lo da naik pentas wat persembahan.

Aiyo...I like the intro!!! Dia pakai yang ala violin kulit kelapa entah haper namanya. Er...bagi mereka yang tak kenal...tu bukan Jason. Si Jason yang main gitar tuh. Anyway biola tuh dulu aku ada kat rumah selalu main-main.

Definitely a great lead in for Jason's performance of Sleepy Head.Now THIS is an award event worthy performance. Kat rumah pun aku rasa nak mosh.

Er...tak berapa paham konsep bebudak bak sign Smile, Believe, Try, Relax, Help, Peace dari Sekolah Seri Inai (Junior) Kuala Lumpur tapi dari camera angle dari belakang aku da perasan the backboard tu membentuk bendera.

Hah...nampaknya Jason nak defend diri sebab orang kritik dia tak patriotik ler sebab menjadi penganjur Pesta Malam Indonesia.

Rina Omar dan Popshuvit were the next presenters. Even they couldn't wake the crowd.
That's the best thing...on camera meka leh try paint a picture of kemeriahan tuk orang yang tengok atau mendengar dari rumah...definitely cuma orang kat dewan je tau kebenarannya.

But it's painfully obvious just how 'exciting' this AIM is.

Sempat aku isap rokok sebatang dan gi toilet during the commercial break, something I can't usually do at the dewan. So ada ler blessing in disguise kena ban ler.

Pakai M.A.C. tuk wanita muka kemek? Kalau aku sponsor aku da maki da aku nya product di wat lawak camtuh during product placement. Idham wardrobe? Trust me...nothing to puji ler bab baju meka tak tuko tuko tuh...

Yes, worthy recognition of a talent when they're still alive.S. Atan is definitely one of the deserving winners for the lifetime achievement award. Tapi bab anugerah camni, disebabkan ramai yang layak pun kerana sumbangan mereka dalam industri muzik, tak tahulah kalau ada yang membantah.

Eh...Aziz Bakar dan Sandy Monteiro yang memberikan anugerah? Gelak je...
Alamak...lifetime achievement aku leh la terima menitis airmata, tapi jadi dedication tuk wedding anniversary camna tuh?

Next performance a solo performance by Ridzuan (takde album tapi sebab artis Boon Tan) nga lagu Permata Kasih.

Memang sedap suara dia...tapi tertanya gak kenapa artis yang berpotensi selama ni tidak diberi peluang untuk muncul kat pentas, tiba-tiba setakat keluarkan satu single, dapat pencalonan hanya untuk Artis Harapan Terbaik terus layak Shanon Shah next with Dilanda Cinta. Zoul was next. I summarise his performance by saying...we already have M. Nasir. The elder brother is better not just musically...but also better looking. And oh...Dicelah Gigi? Dream up a better title la tuk lagu ko.

At this point aku dapat SMS sorang lagi kawan yang berada kat dewan yang berbunyi, Welcome to Amateur Hour at the AIM...or something like that. Gelak sambil tergolek aku...

Yang tak pahamnya...kenapa Afdlin dan Bob kena introduce satu persatu dan bukan direct je ala medley persembahan mereka ni.

Jawapannya dalam lagu seterus in Tak Tercapai Akalmu. Yang menyanyi the horrendously dressed (what's with the pink ribbon kat bawah tuh???) Ezlynn wannabe, Elyana (nama pon ala ala da).

Nikki came on with Farah Fauzana next. Adus...sapa laaaa yang prepare script ni?

Seronok sebab lagu Warkah memang aku da lama suka. It's a great song even though not so radio friendly. Cuma sedih sebab kak Dibah ended the night tanpa satu pun anugerah. Apa nak jadi ni???

Apapun tahniah pada adik oren....no longer mee segera, bro...you proved them wrong.
To kak Dibah, you'll always be a winner for a lot of us who know the real talent that lies behind you, babe.

Seriouslah..what the hell is happening sampai Adibah tak menang satu pun. Just plain ridiculous! Aku simpati ngan meka ya.

Sesuai sangat ler Spider tutup show ngan Nazraku...lagu basi tuk anugerah paling pretij industri muzik negara kita. Such a great reflection of what's going on.

Ok ler...hope you guys 'enjoyed' the show as much as I did.

By the way aku ada last addition ni. This is a little touch of fashion colour ler to my pages. This is how you SHOULD and SHOULD NOT dress to an awards show as a new artist.On the left...we have Dina, who is obviously the big no no.

The big no no obviously being that purplish maroon chiffon or whatever material (kaim khemah kot) that is draped over her. Wonder how much fabric is hanging off her (harus ler harga kain melonjak pasnih)

And to top it off, top it off with an ugly bow that looks like it's holding it all in place.

Let's not forget bad hair and heavy make up ala drag queen on a bad day and you have HOW NOT TO DRESS FOR AN AWARDS!

On the plus side, and easier on the eyes is Marsha who simply looks stunning in comparison. No description necessary for her except to simply put it...she looks STUNNING!

So the problem here? Some people aren't just meant to be celebrities for a lot of reasons, but mostly simply because they want to be be in that position so bad, they don't mind coming across totally horrible.

Take Adibah Noor for example...simpe beauty! radiant and gorgeous from within...someone teach Dina that...

Note the reason why I haven't added a lot of pictures is because I think only those who deserve a mention for real are focused upon. Yes, these are my winners (except for Dina and that horrid dress and routine, she's the exception...along with Bob Lokman)

Entry kurang gigih

Aku memang malas sikit ler kebelakangan ni nak update.

Mampuslah konon kena calonkan sebagai Bloggers Paling Gigih konon for the Golden Blog Awards anjuran Ginger de la Loca for the local blogging fraternity.

So sebab dapat pencalonan camtuh...erm...nampaknya I have to lah kan...

So here's my update this time around.

Dah pasti ler dengan Anugerah Juara Lagu semalam, I guess I have to ler at least let a little in about how it was kan?

Semalam janji memang ngan kengkawan because I had lotsa of extra tickets, so Muzaffar, abang Badrul, Najmie, Nizam, Zam and me, myself and I gi jumpa kat area opis aku kat Bangsar.
We went in two cars, dan sampai je sana, after checking in, kita gi makan kat coffee house at the Pan Pacific. Abang Badrul belanja (rasa bersalah lak). Habis melantak we made our way back to Dewan Merdeka.

We bumped into Javardkent yang penah jumpa sebelum ni manakala sorang agik anggota Bloggers United, Juan, muncul kemudian (biasalah diva kan kena grand entrance!)

Kat luar da crawling with people da, so we decided to book our seats first, walaupun da reserved section, risau gak kang masuk lambat nak catwalk...last-last dok lantai cam Hits 1. But of course, this isn't an RTM production...so we seated ourselved third row from the front dekat-dekat da tengah.

The first thing that caught my eye was the stage. Adus...bak kata kawan-kawan, cam kain ela tergantung sebagai perhiasan backdrop. There were a million and one things that was all wrong, but malas ler nak cakap sini.

Pada sesapa yang kenal aku da, or has been reading my blog for ages, you know I can't review penuh-penuh kat sini sebab aku write for a living. So please check my other blog - which is my column (kena laa jual mahal skali skala)

In order of performance, ni my evaluation of how they fared.

Semalakama (Pak Ngah/Ce'Kem/Zehra Zambri)
Perlu ke? Seriously?
She exceeded ler my expectations sebab mampu to perform well live vocally as well as in terms of stage command. But the song...haiyo!
Pak Ngah suka wat hal kan buat lagu-lagu standard issue camni.
Terasa cam tengok Siti yang tak lengkap lor. It did nothing for me at all, and aku rasa show dia nothing great.
Kalau nak audition sebagai back up singer or dancer tuk memenuhkan stage kali seterusnya Kak Ani nak wat show ok ler...
The song was crap, and the performance ala kadar je. Kalao AJL 10 tahun lepas, leh ler bagik rating tinggi.

Elegi Sepi (Azlan Abu Hassan/Julfekar/Azharina)
For some reason, lagu ni memang tak memikat aku dari dulu. I never felt this was a strong composition, and lyrically tak challenging. Tapi aku tau memang ramai suka ler lagu ni (habis aku kena carut kawan-kawan sendiri bila kata tak minat)
The performance?
Aku disappointed sikit Nina. Mungkin dia gementar, but she really couldn't hold it together vocally and aku rasa elok lagi dia perform kat Hits 1.
Never had high hopes for this song anyway...

Pop Ye Ye (Shahrin Azmi Mohd Shaharudin, Damien Seet, Abdullah Ahmad, Zaf, Cham/Zaf/V.E.)
Aku kecewa teramat ngan V.E.
Going into my final, they were my favourites for Pop Rock, dan aku da bajet ler that they would put up a good fight with Hazami's Katakan.
Tapi ikutkan trend, memang Pop Ye Ye is typical category champion material.
Anyways, takler disappointed sangat they didn't win, but I really feel like their performance really turned me off.
Props gedabak, ngan Vespa pelbagai. But execution - SEDIH!
And please ler...sapa ler back-up dancer yang bulat pakai ijo tu?
Very the salah ok! Not even funny! Rosak tambak rosak agi bila Joe Flizzow's mic tak fungsi lak! Huh! Ilang the impact of the song. Masa semifinal lagi better.

Taat (Rosli Md Kasa/Tok Wan/Rohana Jalil)
Aku ingat dalam keghairahan kak Ana nak perform, sampai kuar bila cue Mawi masa nak intro, da menjanjikan a good performance.
It was very theatrical, I'll give her that. Tapi geli aku dibuatnya kerana terasa cam mayat berbalut kain kapan lak menari-nari.
A little too dramatic for a song yang too weak.

Awan Yang Terpilu (Lin Li Zhen/Loloq/Ning Baizura)
No matter how anyone looks at it, Awan Yang Terpilu deserved to win something.
Tapi apa nak buat kan...industri menobatkan it as Song Of The Year, while a few people think it doesn't deserve anything.
Apapun, Ning put up a superb performance that was inspiring tro say the least.
It wasn't just me yang bulu roma meremang, atau rasa nak nitis airmata (control macho babe!)...everyone felt it, and you had to be bloody lying to say otherwise.
No matter what the jury says...Awan Yang Terpilu was a winner.
Ning out sikit in tempo at the start, but with just a strings intro, it was forgiveable.
Dengan semua bak rombongan (kecuali Jac), Ning stood out sebab menjiwai lagu bukan dengan rombongan Cik Kiah...but with the simple tools of emotion with her expression and vocals.

Tak Tahu (Edry/Edry/Adam)
Busuk ler performance Adam. First of all recycle habis. Koreografi, and gimik kesemuanya la.
Props murahan...vocal tak mantap.
I mean, seriously, the only reason anyone could rate this boy highly was if they wanted to get into his pants, atau like all those hormonal girls in Dewan Merdeka yang tak reti nilai good performance menjerit cam period mencurah tak henti.
It was a performance yang very the Hadiah Penyampaian Hadiah.
Nothing personal against him, but I think he needs to really take a good, long hard look at his performances and tengok apa kelemahannya.
People can put on nice clothes, and whimper out a tune, and pass it off as a pro act.
But let's just say, in this case, he didn't stand a chance. Hopefully he'll do better next time, sebab bakat dia ada...tapi...let's admit it, he's not the best singer around. So he really has to improve and be mkore polished. Ni bukan Akademi Fantasia lagi.

Ayuh Juragan (Noraniza Idris/Fedtri Yahya/Noraniza Idris)
Bak nyanyian Ito dan Neves yang sumbang tu, apo nak dikato?
Seriously...it was just standard kak Ani. Lagu tak sekuat Iboq...and performance takde yang luar biasa.
Tambah agi tolak markah bagi penari dia sorang yang menimbulkan kerisauan sebab ala bulldozer ada hati nak lonjat overdose!

Wajah (Othman Mohamad/Habsah Hassan/Jaclyn Victor)
I never agreed with this song daripada mula. Horror bila masuk. Anytime Langit ke 7 ke apa lagik elok.
But yesterday night, it was decent, thanks to Jac's vocals.
Kalau bagi orang lain nyanyi - entahla apa hasilnya.
Ni ke evolusi muzik yang dibanggakan?

Patutnya rename je lagu ni Gayah sebab very the che gayah. Ala segala unsur show cabaret ada ni.
Tak caya? Gi tengok performance bebudak kat The Ship.
Dengan ular lah...main api lah...
Gelak sat kerana aksi Wachaa! Zainal, and terdiam sat kerana material seluar baju dia transparent, bila kena lampu dari belakang nampak bentuk segalanya.
Terus pening...perlu ke?

Aduh Saliha (M Nasir/Loloq/Mawi)
Ok...ni kena outline bebetul. Kalau tak roboh blog aku jap agik ada y ang protest.
Objectively, Mawi seriously has improved vocally. Stable, and quite confident in his delivery, memang banyak lah improvement dia.
UNFORTUNATELY, setakat dok terpaku setempat kerana teragak-agak is not exactly good showmanship. Dia masih teragak-agak bab pergerakan ni, and it's obvious his control of the stage has to be choreographed. Ada yang bising pasal tak dapat tengok dia gelek kat TV, but serious, kalau Zehra, Adam dan sebagainya menari takde orang puji...apa lagi la setakat step Mawi.
Still...it was a watchable performance sebab Aduh Saliha is a good song.
Best performance? Rationally...you know the answer...

Gemilang (Aubrey Suwito/Asmin Mudin/Jaclyn Victor)
Kalau nak ikutkan, her performance masa the final of Malaysian Idol was something that can never ler be repeated.
Sejak tu...she has never had the power to deliver it just the same. Still amazing...but not quite as good.
Really think she deserved the vocal award...though with Hazami getting it, takler teruk sangat kan. At least lost to an equal...
The song itself? Undeniably haunting....

He outdid himself. Hazami has done me proud by not just his vocals, tapi korang prasan tak dia ada menari?
Hah...ko nak puji bab menari...puji ler Hazami..sebab dia lagik kayu dari Mawi sebenarnya.
Bukan kutuk...tapi that boy has got three left feet.....so you can imagine ler kan.
Still, great choir act (cayalah Safri conduct meletop!)...and the backup vocals as well (Farah best!)
Kalao korang nak tau, choir dia dan backup vocals dia semua anak didik dia...

Ini ada dua keping pics lagi sepanjang awards yang aku rasa nak kongsi (nak dapat title Bloggers Paling Gigih ler konon)

First pic : Innuendo ketika mempersembahkan Belaian Jiwa. Korang cam tak mereka. Ok...asalnya, Innuendo in the first album comprised of four people, iaitu, Reymee, Taj, Pot dan Sam yang kemudiannya meninggalkan the group.

Yang kelakarnya...malam tu meka perform, haram aku cam budak yang nyanyi skali ngan Sam dan Reymee yang aku dapat identify tu.

You see, Reymee and Taj were my college mates, sesama amik sound and audio engineering dulu (241B!!!), and aku kenal meka kerana meka ni junior aku.

To cut a long story short, orang ketiga ngan meka tu, is neither Pot nor Taj.

So who was he?

Apparently, he was just a stand-in meka brought in about half hour before the show started.
Aduh...apalah...last-last member yang dok rumah (kat Dewan Merdeka tak perasan sangat) yang ngadu mamat tu sumbang abih kalahkan kesumbangan Dina dan FO3!

So much for evolution...

Kalau korang nak baca ulasan yang intelligent, yang merapu, yang kelako...then baca balik ulasan aku.

Tapi kalao korang rasa nak something the opposite of all that (matilah aku kena carut teman-teman seangkatan!), then try clicking sultanmuzaffar, Javard ataupun pendatang baru dunia bloggers yang da season, Aku Belum Gila Lagi Tau (ada berani mau click???!!!) ataupun MysticDreamworks (mistik mimpi keja katanya direct translation...)

Pic two : Ini masa Amy dan Andy Flop Poppy kan...masa tengah duet. Amy still maintain...and in fact, aku rasa anytime Amy can teach these kids a thing or two about performing, looking and sounding good.

The thing I wanted to raise was...Andy pakai camtuh kenapa?
Harus ler peminat Brokeback Mountain kan!

Kalau Amy pakai camtu gak camna?

Leh imagine tak korang meka as the lead characters (pengsan terus in horror!)

So it was a little funny...but thank God Andy is one of the few with a decent sense of humour and equipped with the slight ability to laugh at himself.

A lot of people can;t do that, sadly enough.

Anyways...ride 'em cowboy!!!

Ok...aku rasa setakat ni jer ler entry aku pasai Anugerah Juara Lagu.

Malam semalam balik kat Bangsar bagi semua amik keta da dekat 2am da. Everyone wanted to head home, so I went back to the office to finsih my article for news, and then wat tuk entertainment.

The joke? Aku dok office sampai 5am pastu ngantuk sangat tidur keta.

Bangun 9.30am, cuci muka (yer...tak mandi!!! Phew!) terus sambung keja. Until now.

Sebenarnya kerja leh cepat abih...biasalah procrastination melampau kan...

Still...more updates tomorrow sebab aku cuma ada press conference Anugerah Industri Muzik 2006 at 3pm tomorrow, which gives me lots of time tomorrow to do some stuff. Banyak chores aku.

Kena gi finance nak settle keta punya payment yang aku tak sempat lagi bayar. Then have to go Maybank and pick up my Mastercard and Visa replacements.

And of course...update my blog over one or two things I want to share...until then...toodle doo kiddies... oh by the way guys....jangan lupa akan datang ni kat Planet Hollywood for the next Sunday Nite Live...sifu himself (tatau lak kalau dia bak Mawi guest artiste kan!)
