Jangan Tegur

Got up feeling woozy today sebab stayed up the night nak finish up work for my column and a story or two for cover. At least with that out of the way, takyah melekat office hari nih, and leh kuar assignment. That's the part I love most about this job. If you want to cut the chase... you can. Just do things in a more rajin fashion - and you get to kick back a little.

Anyway, got myself straightened out and headed to Mines Shopping Fair nak ke Lemon Restaurant owned by David Teoh. Ada pelancaran filem Jangan Tegur by MIG Production. It's a new horror movie they're shooting soon written, directed and starring a very talented young man, Pierre Andre. The same dude yang responsible untuk Jalan Pandang Belakang.

The cast termasuk Julia Ziegler and Rozita Che Wan. Yang tak dapat hadir include Nadia Mustafar, Almy Nadia.. a few. Tapi kak Ellie Suriarti and Azri Iskandar who are also in the cast sampai lewat sikit sebab meka ada rehearsal lain.

The complete cast for the movie includes Kaza pun ok... amik ko! Mesti horror besh... walaupon aku tak der ler enjoy sangat Jangan Pandang Belakang (except part nenek tuh yang go on, "bughok bonar kawan ko tuh" *shivers*)

Hah.. ni some pics.

The leads - Pierre, Julia and Rozita.

Pics candid manja.

Amik banyak tuh jer pon. Spent some time talking to Pierre. Am really impressed with him la. That's one young man yang memang focused on what he wants. I can only hope that my plans turns out even half of what he has done in such a short time.

Anyway, we ended the thingie about almost 8pm. Tapi tetiba kak Ellie sampai pas practise dia so dok borak anyam ketupat sat. Mak aih... kalao da dok gossip tak hengat masa.

I absolutely adore kak Ellie. For me, she is indeed one of the best actresses in the country. And underrated too. Aku penah tengok one of her mono-presentations kat Aswara... terpegun. I can still remember her performance. Too bad most actresses now harapkan gosip murahan nak rampas suami, laki orang jer. Matilah ko.. don't you even dare mention anything about a cat *gelak pecah perot*

Anyway, kak Ellie is having another monologue thingie soon, so I'll keep you guys updated on that. She's doing the Islamic musical Sirah Junjungan (so want to watch that!) which is expected to be a powerful presentation and then Jangan Tegur first.

Anyway... tengah sibuk borak borak... bini David... Jane offer len chee kang. So ok jerk. Now this is authentic Chinese styled len chee kang. Sebab molot memasing da kering, aku pun down everything quite fast. Farihad punya bowl pun nak kering da time tuh.

Alamak... da hampir habis rupanya. Almost. Then... Rudy made a discovery which left all us nak throw up.

Yes... it was actually a bloody fly in the len chee kang. Must be the Asian twist to the fly in my soup joke (I think the bloody thing looked drowned!). But no one batted an eyelid sebab sibuk gossip (Rudy stakat ask them to take it away with a disgusted look), though I felt sick after that membayangan entah haper yang masuk da. Eew!!!

Well.. still... it was good len chee kang (matilah!!!)

Sped off to meet Boo after hari pertama dia keja part time. Bangga dia nak independent. Walaupun keja biasa jer part time for a convenience store, aku memang bangga sebab dia tak harapkan sesapa nak survive. Hey.. not all of us are born with silver spoons shoved way down our throats.

But I suppose bitching about it isn't going to change anything - and while opportunity doesn't knock that much when you start with that handicap of not having that leg up, one day... things will happen if you keep going at it, and keeping your intentions for wanting to succeed right and clear. Me? Aku nak make lots of money so I can afford a fantastic retirement for my parents. Tuh jer.

And if I can move beyond that - maybe I'll get that Prada suit I want. And those Gucci sunnies which are on 40% discount. Damn.. off topic lak. Sorry... shopaholic.

Boo had to do assignment sikit, so about midnight pas jemput dia, lepak McDonalds Shah Alam (tatau section berapa) tuk just menyibuk dia and a four other course mates dia nak wat presentation.

Had fun... chatted, helped them out a little. And before you know it, da 4am. Mak aih!
Sempat complete this entry - and then preparing for bed.

Fazura punya court case bersambung tomorrow - da janji nak gi lend moral support. Also adik Acaf call aku da, mintak tolong pick up Sunburst nya tickets. Alamak... lupa. He's supposed to call me when he reached KL besok...

Damn... looks like I'm not getting much sleep tomorrow.

Malam esok lak da janji Nik nak ke final Raja Lawak. Argh... Saturday lak packed. Damn! Between Sunburst, Akademi Fantasia and Dynas punya wedding. Matilah aku!
Ok la... nak tido la. Pening pikir jadual camni...

Enjoy these pics from yesterday punya entry aku tak sempat letak.

Door gift dari Astro Oasis yang unik. Fighting fish (I think). And a scented candle... I don't know how they're related... got two, so gave one to Boo.

Weird toilets in Parkroyal Hotel.I understand if the guy needs a head (matilah lawak lucah), but what's with the headless thingies.

Gimme gimme more... gimme more...

Okay so this is going to be another long entry, in part thanks to the banyak gambar aku amik masa sanding Leya and Ashraf earlier tonight.

Memang besh event tuh. Tapi apapon, let me start dari mula, and backtrack since my last posting was done at their house. Memang it was the most multicultural wedding aku penah hadiri.

Mana taknya... sebab bonda Leya, Nani, Lesya and Yana, kak Fatimah Abu Bakar is half Chinese, meka also pay respects to their mother's side of the family in typical traditional Chinese style!

Kalau ikut gaya kaum Cina, cara untuk hormat orang tua masa kahwin, is when you bring your husband home to the family house, you must present him to your parents and grandparents, and then keseluruhan keluarga to ask for their approval untuk dia diterima dalam keluarga.
Memang macam wedding kaum keluarga aku yang penah aku saksikan.

The reason for this, is especially to pay respect to kak Fati's mom, nenda Leya and sisters, who is pure Chinese. Walaupun dia convert - ni soal kebudayaan, so it was touching to see they still observe simple things like respecting their elders in the traditional Chinese manner.

Iaitu dengan pasangan pengantin menghidang teh kepada kaum keluarga, bermula dari parents, then grandparents (either way pun boleh) followed by sedara mara. Yang lebih muda dan lum kahwin, the other way around... kena serve pasangan pengantin.

Yang pasangan pengantin hidang teh - akan memberikan angpow, dan yang menghidang pasangan akan menerima angp pow! Amik ko!

Dapat gak angpow walaopon raya Cina lom sampai kan!

I didn't take pics of the tea ceremony - except one sebab sibuk kaco kak Fati ngan aturcara - kerana ingat what my grandma and my aunties taught me about the ritual. But I'm going to start this posting ngan beberapa pics yang tak sempat aku upload semalam.

By the way, keluarga Ashraf pun dapat pengalaman pertama take part in the tea ceremony. How sweet...

Nani - the best woman - never the bridesmaid ok!

Yana pun nak mencelah.

Sempat enter frame tuh si Nani...

Only pic aku sempat rakam masa upacara hidang teh dari pasangan pengantin to Leya's grandparents.

The happy couple - Ashraf and Leya, with wedding planner si Eena, bini Yasin and Nani - the woman of all trades yang control freak (matilah aku!)

Cantik Leya - tapi rambut bentuk cam kepala Alien! (ampun Leya!!!!)

Apa hal Nani dan Yana ni... kena kurung ke???

On the way out - reminder of the happy event...

I was dead tired bila sampai rumah Bangsar way past 5pm. Ngantuk siot tak cukup tido tapi sebab tak berani tidur tak tak jaga jaga and miss my later private event - tahan jerlah. By the time event habis - pas 1am, aku balik terus KO. Gawd! This is like the first Saturday in months aku tidur this early.

Next day bangun awal - ada event Marsha FC punya bowling. Ramai team amik bahagian siot! Lebih 40 siot! Aku kena gi sebab main mewakili team Bloggers. My team mates? Abang Bad, Diddy and klon Juan Danza (ampun makcik!) yang kena ganti the original yang tido mati tak sedau walaopon aku call beribu lemon kali!

Ni some pics aku amik kat sana. Before I forget...tahniah pada semua pemenang and all the sporting fan clubs - and also to the organisers yang sudi jemput aku. Besh besh besh.. me likey! Ramai hadir - sekali ada Shawal, Amylea, Heliza... not sure if anyone else from the camp was there sebab riuh rendah!

Walaupon ni event FC dia, Marsha sibuk abih. The other piccies of Team Blogger (we weren't the best - but we also weren't the worst, ok!)

Heliza pose haper tuh??? Amylea cam bosan lak...

Do you spot yourself in this pic? Peminat semua amik pic kenagan.

Cantik tak baju Marsha?

It was massive fun! But also tiring. Tapi sebab nak keep awake lak tuk acara sanding Leya and Ashraf malam ni, again tried to keep awake.

So jalan-jalan shopping dulu. Merasalah bonus lum masuk nak shopping. For my friends yang sama minat magic - I got myself the Fireball!!! Woohoo!! Sapa nak tengok aku throw out balls of fire! Aku dah leh da skang. Entah kenapa aku naik gila tetiba spur of the moment punya purchase.

Dari Berjaya Times Square - gi lawat kawan kat Cheras dulu (rindu ko Zai akhirnya dapat jumpa), before gerak ke Legend Hotel.

I'll let the pictures tell you about the simple, tapi romantic sanding event ok. The reception start ngan pasangan mempelai masuk dengan iringan lagu Glenn Medeiros, Nothing's Gonna Change My Love. Then doa, and dinner. Followed by speeches from the three sisters in Nani, Lesya and Yana. Touching gila their short, simple speech sampai ngundang airmata - especially dari orang nih.

There were also video messages on screen dari rakan rakan artis wishing the pasangan well - including Datin Seri or Datuk (depending which title ko nak pakai) Siti Nurhaliza.

The whole thing was over in two hours. I like! Short and simple - tak meleret, tak overdose nak grand sampai bagik orang fed up. Made everyone apppreciate the special occasion so much more.

So here are the pictures...

Isn't that just sweet...
;

The pelamin - simple but elegant hues of white and gold

Setting for the main table - white totally! Simplicity at its best. Less is more...

The door gifts...

Berdebar masuk dewan dan naik pelamin depan lebih 500 orang.

Yana, Lesya and Nani the bridesmaids.

The terror that is Nani begins. Here's the bridesmaid from hell!!! (matilah Nani bunuh aku pasnih!) First escorting the bride...

Nani fussing over Leya...

Antara tamu...

Sesi gosip otai.. Pierre senyum jerk.. merasalah terperangkap celah orang anyam ketupat!

Fara sempat pose...

Nani begins said reign of terror - fussy fussy!!!

"Pose camni.."
.

"Just smile sayang..."

"She fussing again... tell me darling, why is she the bridesmaid again?" "Erm... because she's your sister, you love her... and she's the jack of all trades who gets everything done?"

"She's fussing with my shoes.. AGAIN!!!"

Kak Fati, hubby Syed Zainal, daughter Nani, Lesya and Yana, we well as Leya with hubby, Ashraf

Dengan keluarga pentantin laki lak...

Congrats Leya!!!!! You have a good one, sister and all the best!

Congrats again Leya!!! And also Ashraf of course! I wish you guys the best. Now... breed like rabbits!!! (wish alaf baru gitu!)

Arghhhh!!! Nak tidur. Got back past 4am after supper and drink with Vern and Rudy at Concorde Hotel punya Melting Pot (which doesn't have a f***ing workable wifi service for use.
Ngantuk hawau!!!
