About a decade ago, I was in a house in Jalan Setiamurni, Bukit Damansara. Masa tu bertugas. I had traipsed all around Kuala Lumpur, only to end up back there for a press conference.

In the middle of it all, pandemonium broke out. The house was surrounded by uniformed and non-uniformed personnel of several bodies of the law. Within minutes into the press conference, hell broke loose!

The window beside the front door was broken, and eventually, the door too. Men in ski masks, balaclavas if you must, rushed in, brandishing what looked like M16s.

Having heard the commotion, the person holding the press conference, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, was brought to a safer part of the house by family and friends, while idiots like me rushed to the front door to see what was happening.

The moment the men rushed in, aku dok terpaku. It was something frightening for me as I had never ever thought I would experience that in real life.

Several members of the Press, tak silap aku dari suratkhabar lain, and a member of the foreign press were roughly handled. I kept snapping photographs with my company camera.

Then the men came after me as I snapped their pics.

What do you think I did?

I ran screaming like a little girl la! What the f**k did you think I was going to do???!

They gave up chasing a hysterical queen and everything else, happened like it was reported on the news. Anwar was arrested.

Now... ten years later, it's happened again.

Again he has been arrested, and perhaps in no less a brutish manner.

Aku tak sempat tengok berita, but I knew they reported his arrest, which was no surprise.
The part everyone forgot to highlight was that not only did they arrest him before his time was up at 2pm (et they have an excuse for that), they also sent in the men with balaclavas again! (CLICK HERE to read more)

I remember back then I felt the fear of living in what was almost a police state... where you could be dragged kicking and screaming from your beds when all this happened before me. Now I feel that same dread again.

My heart goes out to the family of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. The law is the law... and no one should be above it (someone tell that to certain people within the government)... but this is simply too much.

Everyone has rights.

My heart especially goes out to Nurul Izzah. It's been almost a decade too since I last spoke to her. Wonder if she still thinks Radiohead and Smashing Pumpkins rule!

Whatever you guys think, consider this. What if it happened to you, or your loved one.

CLICK HERE to read Izzah's account if you've never imagined a daughter's pain and another side of the story the mainstream media conveniently forgets to highlight each time. I remember the sh*t I got for my story on the family's account even back then... so my heart goes out to my colleagues who work in this period where jouirnalistic freedom is so enjoyed (that does come with a hint of sarcasm.. you think???!!).

Away from all that (had to get that off my chest)... I spent the whole lounging (meaning bumming) at home. Tak sihat lor.

But before midnight I parked my rear end kat Pavilion (managed to avoid any stupid road blocks, the result of more paranoia).

I celebrated the dawn of my birthday (literally sebab shooting sampai 5 lebih pagik ok), with Stacy, Zahid, Shawal and Riz, apart from Cherry, Nurul and the rest of the production crew of Aku Stacy and the TV commercial shoot for the Boh tea campaign.

It was fun, and passed time playing with my N95 8gb since leh wireless to get online. Cool! A lot of pics, so brace yourselves.
Ok la.. enjoy it. Tomorrow one more shoot for the commercial. More pics then. Toodles!

PS - Wonder what happens with Raja Petra today?

Erm...

Otak jam ari nih. Went to a mind-numbing total of three meetings today, plus one rehearsal session. Am so pooped!

Actually cuma rehearsal tadik dapat ler dok jap tengok other people sweat it out through the vigorous routine. Si Stacy, Shawal, Riz and Zahid semua involved for the dance training tuk shooting iklan Boh which will take place next week.

Seronok dapat lepak jap ler sebab otak stress seharian pikir nak wat jadual nak organise my time. Yer... aku skang kena organise time aku da. Matilah... so unheard of me kan? Well, seeing I have so many things on my plate right now, kenalah.

For sesapa yang fans of the kids, ni some pics.

Getting ready for his part in the routine

Stacy sempat pose tu. Riz lak focusing on choreography

Amboi.. pose lagik

Dan lagik... erm.. I think that's all folks!

Another day to go through before I get a break over the weekend. Yeay! Not counting the Sunday night promise to be a guest for TV1's Blog program.

Pening.... at least tomorrow no meetings, just one studio session je.

Would love to post more... but feeling mengantuk da.

PS - Did a little blog hopping. Haven't gone into YB Jeff Ooi's blog in a while. CLICK HERE for an interesting read and HERE for the source story. Wonder if harga minyak akan turun ke, atau ada yang wat bodoh jer. Turun ler... horror la nak terus camni....

PS Pt II - Our beloved Prime Minister finally set his retirement date saying he he will hand over the leadership to his deputy in June 2010. Enquiring minds want to know if a) is that constitutional as Ku Li puts it and b) will there be anything to hand over by the time 2010 rolls about. The Pakatan opposition this evening filed a no-confidence motion against the PM. The plot thickens.... there better be more scandals in the entertainment industry, or politics is turning out to be more fun...

And one more thing... Happy birthday to Tun Mahathir Mohamad! You're 83! Blowing out the candles should be fun, sir!

Oh happy day...

So the day started pretty eary for me today, right. Unusual tapi nak wat camna. Hari nih memang plan banyak benda nak buat lasting into the night, so kena la up and about awal.
Masa left Klang tuh, bersemangat la. Sebab I would have to put a few things together today in preparation for some projects I have coming up.

Tengah pikiran melayang tuh, tetiba nampak lak aksi circus tengah jalan. Or is it more like mesin penyapu jalan?

Erm, I don't know how I'm supposed to react seeing this, but one thing I can say for sure is that it hardly inspires me to vote. Tolong la... I think dalam beriya nak kempen nih, this particular supporter may have just broken quite a few traffic laws. Mana la datuk datuk kuda belang time nih nak saman... ish ish ish.

Was on the way to Suria FM nak jenguk kawan-kawan when Juan called. Met up Julia there and had lunch. Ada la benda nak borak - dan carut.

Abih jer, sent Julia home before we made our way ke Palace Of The Golden Horses tuk PC Secretaries Week Mawi dan Mila yang bertema Go Green With Mawi. Cam slogan kempen mengundi jerk.... matilah aku (gelak sendiri nih kalao ada yang tak paham tuh sorry la)

Comel tak next to each other? Tak? Kalau tak, nih lagik comel tak?

Gila ko kata tak...matilah aku kang kena carut pasnih. Ampun Farihad... ampun Shazryn!!! Korang nih... jangan carut tau... kang aku hantar Dee marah korang baru tau.

Matilah aku... anyways sempat borak ngan dak botak. Yerlah. Maklumlah dia kan jet setting kuar skang. Da la baru balik dari UK - ke Manchester, London and Oxford. Rehat beberapa hari sini and on Thursday da nak fly ke LA pulak da.

So catch up borak ler sikit. Erm... ada la discuss business sikit. Apa dia... erm... tunggu la ek. Apa salahnya kalao ada joint venture project kang.

Borak punya borak, tengok jam da lewat petang da. So aku ngan Juan pun rush ke Pavilion for next meeting lak. Lepak La Bodega nak jumpa someone from erm... adalah nak discuss something. Jangan tatau - Juan pun tukau keja nih. Ada la career movement. Stakat dot com nan ado tuh perlu ke kan... merasalah!

But glad for him - and this opportunity is good plus - we have a few projects lined up da so that should take up a lot of time da. Tengah lepak bertiga tuh ada familiar face walk past.

It was LJ (matilah adik adik membayangkan LJ yang lalu - this joke intended bagik meka yang paham jerk). Yeap Linda was on the way nak ke gym. Gigih nih walaupon katanya kaki sakit.

Nak tetap mantain body slim tummy trim gituh la. Some people just take the joy out of life for me - heh... takpe takpe.. aku nih sebelah Linda nih rasa cam Bluehyppo kena sabar je la.

You go work out Linda, I'll stick to my Marlboros and Coke diet Dari Pavilion, rush across the road. Ada dinner Malam Gala Karyawan lak. Patutnya start 7.30pm. Tapi waktu Malaysia paham paham jer la. Lagipon kami borak sampai tak sedar da kol 9pm!

But the funny part was - masa sampai Ritz Carlton - rupanya dinner baru nak served. Aiyo! Lucky we didn't parking sini awal awal. Nyesal hidup.

We arrived same time ngan Rizal and joined at the lifts by Sean Ghazi, so we were in good company.

Actually - the whole night was good company all the way. Met up with old friend Reymee and chatted business (abih tuh - da nak ada syarikat sendiri kena networking tuk projek)... then also had a fun chat ngan Hannah Tan (she cute lah) Gosip ngan Safri and layan ngumpat ngan everyone else.

Dalam ramai ramai tuh - sakat kak Ogy - PENGKRITIK TETAP KONSERT AKADEMI FANTASIA (matilah aku!), caught up with Zahid, my bro, and borak ngan many others. Dah tak cam keja lak kengkawan semua ada. Ni some pics I took.

Hah... tapi korang nak gosip tak? Gosip jer... kalao korang layan Melodi (one of the only TV3 programs yang watchable - tuh pun kalao ko tune out Wahid yang pukey tuh), of course korang kenal Michelle kan? Ala... nickname bebudak gosip jahat ngumpat panggil ialah Michelle Karat.
Now I love Michelle cause she's sweet - yerlah... keja nampak je ganas. Nama pun keja ma... kena all out. Tapi anyway - mana abang Nas rambut ketak ketak?

Hah.. perkenalkan. Nih sidekick baru dia yang tengah biasakan dirinya sebagai broadcast journalist baru tuk Melodi iaitu Azmi. Familiar?

Erm... mungkin ke kita tatap wajah pasangan pengacara baru Melodi? Oops.. gila ko... matilah Fara Fauzana mai carik aku cekik speku lebih.
