Right or wrong?

Korang ingat tak kes ni? It was highlighted by The Malay Mail. I did a story on it. Lagu Secebis Harapan nyanyian Nora... bore too many similarities to another song.



Lagu tu has too many uncanny resemblance to this song performed by Ishtar, titled Horchat Hai Caliptus.

So... pas kes tu tutup sikit masa lepas Anugerah Juara Lagu sikit masa dahulu, ingat da takde la yang kes-kes yang lagu sama akan timbul (walaopon memang ada yang rajin curi hooks sana sini, at least takde la full song persamaan agik kan)

Yerla... negara kita takde laws yang ketat bab nih. Enforcement agik jauh.

So nevermind lagu Secebis Harapan was contested in Anugerah Juara Lagu 2006 - and Horchat Hai Caliptus was in Ishtar's The Voice of Alabina released in 2000. Erm....

And then this happened.

Here's a song by Natasha Hudson - Hanya Tuhan Yang Tahu - which was CLAIMED that it was penned by Natasha herself.

Nice song isn't it... too bad the lyrics bosan sikit. But wait a minute... watch this. It's a song titled Right Or Wrong by Kim Chuah.

Miss Chuah claims this in her Youtube channel.

Perhaps we should just listen to Miss Kim. Her Youtube channel has this description of her.

"Iam 20 Years old and i'm a singer songwriter and musician form West Yorkshire UK. I have been playing guitar since the age of 12, singing since the age of 3 and songwriting since the age of 9.
At the age of 12 i taught myself how to play guitar and drums and at the age of 12 I was already descovering how to really structure catchy songs. One of my first proper Pop/rock tunes was 'Right or Wrong' which you can watch in my uploaded videos.

Belum?

Hari ni memang hari yang indah!

Matilah statement happy tak menentu.

Actually happy for a few reasons. Work is going ok, I'm a little relaxed (tapi masih tengah perah otak nak conceptualise two more events, selain some other projects yang need that extra boost of creative juice).

Tadik, gi buka puasa kak Nita. Sekali launching single dan music video lagu Raya dia, Maafkan. It's pretty good. Leh layan la gak. Especially since it's been a long time since kak Nita da tak wat lagu ballad camnih, Throwback to the old Anita Sarawak pre-Seksis/Ular etc.

The song is written by Helen Yap, with lyrics by Johan Nawawi and Haslan something or other. I forget...

Abang Johan bak kak Nora sekali. Lama tak meet her da. I think the last time we met was sometime semifinal Muzik Muzik, which was late last year. My memory fails me to recollect a specific time.

Kengkawan ramai pon hadir, so kinda fun. Actually ada satu lagi majlis buka puasa, bersama Leya, yang nak show her babies. Aduh... susah time camnih, torn between work dan kengkawan.

So sorry Leya, and family. Couldn't make it on time.

Wasn't all bad though, sebab dengan kehadiran ramai kengkawan, it reminded me why I love my job.

Things may get stressful, but when you're out to work - you actually can have fun... unlike other jobs.

But satu lagi benda yang wat assignment ni, erm... menarik, adalah tarikan pada seseorang yang ada time tu. Ya ampun.. kenapa muka dia mirip seseorang yang pernah aku gilakan tahap gaban! Heh... dari Makati rupanya. Filipino!!! Filipino!!! Bebot Bebot!!!

When it was all over, headed back early. Started packing. Ada short trip besok. Will be back on Sunday. Tapi janji memang seronok, walaopon nama je tuk keja.

Esok, will travel about 5 hours or so, from Kuala Lumpur - masuk hutan belantara untuk shooting filem baru. Memang aku tak penah gi tempat ni, but have heard so much about it.

Korang tunggu je la aku post update, though I doubt ada Internet connection (memandangkan aku da tak pakai mobile broadband da). Won't stop me from trying though.

Bolos!

Ok quite q quick entry today. First of all nak cakap. Have you heard of those drinks Anything and Whatever? No, this is not an advertorial. Just nak tanya, sebab ramai sangat cakap pasal these two drinks. So on my way out, what did I do?


Yeap, went and bought both nak test power. Tapi dalam beli dua tin Anything dn Whatever tu, aku perasan ada Kampai! Kampai ni kan considered alcopops. Iaitu pop drink, kira macam soda la, minuman buah yang bergas, tapi ada alcohol. Rupanya mereka sekarang keluarkan versi tak beralcohol lak.

So verdict? I love the Anything and Whatever ad campaigns, but minuman meka.. erm.. not my personal taste. But I guess quite nice sebab ramai suka. Just not my cup of tea.. eh cola.

As for the Kampai? LOVE THEM! Very the same taste with the alcoholic version, but minus the arak gituh. Heh.

Anyway petang tadi ke Studio di Wisma Ali Bawal tuk rakaman Bolos. Alif amik bahagian, joined by Ayien dan Naim. Lawan sapa? Bebudak Flava.

Stacy dan Cherry ada aak temankan ke production wrap party, but I thought it would be inappropriate for me to go sebab the party is bebudak production nya.

So lepak jerk ngan sesi mengumpat aku ngan karakter misteri. Banyak gak info dapat tuk menjadi bahan gelak.

Abih je wrap party lepak Pelita. Sori ler aku tak amik pics time ni. Malas dowh!

Tapi ramai layan borak sambil tunggu bola. Pastu sibuk gelakkan ada pak pak Arab yang kecoh riuh sokong Turkey. Heh.. sakit hati Turkey menang sebab mat mat kecoh tu tak didiamkan.
Sapa ada ek. Alif, Faisal, Naim, Toi (kali pertama bebetul dapat borak ngan Toi), Syed, Juan.

Ramai lagik sebenarnya but lost count lak. Heh! Eh... Bob pun ada ngan Shuib as well as bebudak 6ixth Sense. Lupa lak.

Anugerah Juara Lagu

So korang suka tak results tadik. Kalao ikutkan, aku kena cakap yang sebenar. In yesterday's entry aku kata aku da dengar bisikan tertentu about the results kan? Well, that part if true.
But sebenarnya aku tak dapat result penuh.

Yang sempat dibisikkan tuh mengenai Estranged dan lagu Itu Kamu menang tuk kategori Pop Rock, dan juga overall.

Kategori Etnik Kreatif and Balada aku tatau sebenarnya. Tapi aku nak clarify dua benda takot ada yang salah anggap.

Satu, result memang da pre-judged. Ertinya memang da diputuskan sebelom ini mengikut perjurian - dan juri yang hadir malam acara tu hanya menentukan pemenang untuk pemenang persembahan terbaik dan vokal terbaik jer. So jangan lak ada yang speku fixed. The results were fair and square!

Secondly, tilikan aku, as in my predictions in last night's posting was done BEFORE aku tau result. Dapat ler aku compare tengok betul ke tak. Heh... kena ke tak kena... So did I guess it right?

Ini keputusan tadik.

Irama Malaysia & Etnik Kreatif
Samudera (Johan Nawawi/Ahmad Fedtri Yahya/Nora)

Aku da terang terang nyatakan Samudera akan muncul juara kategori. No doubt! So score one to me.

Balada
Izinku Pergi (Azlan Abu Hassan/Sulu Sarawak/Sahri)

Walaupun aku tak berani pilih, aku ada nyatakan "I pretty like Mahakarya Cinta to win tapi kalao overall, Izinku Pergi is pretty strong."
Despite the immense competition, that was my overall favourite to win, walaopon hati aku harapkan Mahakarya Cinta.
Score two... more or less.

Pop Rock
Itu Kamu (Estranged, Richard Lawrence Gimbang/Estranged)

Komen aku, "But I think the best package comes from Estranged with Itu Kamu. At least I'm hoping la." Susah again nak wat pilihan, but I was hoping that the judges would be looking for something fresh and not formulaic, with which Itu Kamu would be the immediate winner.
Score three!

Juara Lagu
Aku katakan "Pemenang kategori Balada akan muncul juara kot. Kalao Itu Kamu menang tuk Pop Rock, then ada harapan la. But it all really depends on who the judges are - dari sana baru leh wat ramalan sebab each person ada individual outlook berbeza and it's easier to predict if you know who they are and what they like."
And true enough, with the win of Itu Kamu in Pop Rock, it was the best candidate to win the overall title. Aramaiti!!!!!!!

Best Performance
Sebab menda nih half jury dan half SMS susah nak predict. This is one category aku tak berani teka, sebab time rehearsal, Siti memang takde, which I said she would be one to watch.
And indeed, kalao ikutkan, and please people get it right - this is the actual results as revealed by TV3. No other blog akan confirmkan yer. Speku mungkin... tapi sebenarnya tidak...
Mawi menang bukan SMS. Kalau ikutkan SMS, Datin Seri Siti Nurhaliza won. But it was close there. Cuma, bahagian juri pula, SEBULAT SUARA Mawi dipilih sebagai pemenang.
Of course when you tabulate the results, Mawi won on average on both being the favourite of the jury, and second highest choice in SMS votes.
Not totally unexpected - but I think Mawi can be proud (sebenarnya masa PC pun dia terkejut dia menang bukan kerana SMS.

Best Vocal Performance
Aku ada katakan antara Siti again,and Jac for sure.Well, Jac won with Lah. Tapi this is one I SO WISH I was wrong. Sebab untuk aku, there was one outstanding winner, and it was Bob.
Smalam masa abih full dress aku ada tanya Bob, jadik ke dia ganti Ajai yang patutnya ganti Faizal Tahir. Dia kata tak kot... sebab TV3 mintak dia stand in ker haper jer sebab Ajai not in KL.
Tapi dia kata esoknya, TV3 ada mintak dia hadir standby. And luckily for us, Bob yang nyanyi. And he was AMAZING! Dia sorang jer yang relaxed and emoted the song so well.
Walaupun masa rehearsal lirik baru dapat - and dia unfamiliar ngan lagu nih. I think he deserved it!
Besides, because it was a duet, so judging patutnya ke atas kualiti vokal dan delivery by both Jac and Lah. While Jac was amazing - Lah... erm... some parts horror sikit la. I think in some parts he was trying so hard to keep up with Jac tuh yang kelam kabut.
The only award aku tak stuju.

What did I think of the overall performances?
Ok, ni my mini review. Sapa tak nak dengar aku carot artis kesayangan atau lagu kesayangan meka, please skip this part and not b***h about it kang!

Farhana (Puteri Bumi Kenyalang) - Denai/Andy Rahman & RD Razi/Jinbara
Macam sarkas ngan badut lompat terkinja kinja. The performance was ok ok saja, tapi standard fun fair la. Nothing great about the vocals and showmanship.

Samudera - Johan Nawawi/Ahmad Fedtri Yahya/Nora
Aiyo... for half the song ok, and then as it progressed, mak aih! Scary Mary! Kak Nora was struggling with the higher notes and she totally crashed and burn after that. Bleeding... my ears are bleeding....

Harapan - Hazami/Fazli Zainal
Let's see... lagu by Hazami. Lirik by Hazami. Persembahan pun Hazami? After all, same choir ek. Erm... tak kreatif tol. And overdone. Too much drama. Too theatrical. Cam pementasan teater lak. No.. no.. no!!!

Destinasi Cinta - Lin Li Zhen/PSNN/Datin Seri Siti Nurhaliza
Aku memang suka lagu nih. Tapi tonight, I LOVE IT MORE!!!!
Cakap la apa korang nak... baju back up buruk. Siti ala ninja. Backing cam pesta chingay kebangsaan. TAPI - yang penting - MELETOP!!!!!
I like the whole execution dan walaopon Siti semput situ sana sini sikit sikit (leh wat lagu nih... part two?), but aku respek dia selit choreography yang precise and energetic.
Memang antara best performances.

Mahakarya Cinta - Audi Mok/Shah Shamshiri/Fiq
Pas berdarah telinga aku... kuar nanah lak. Aku da agak dia tak mampu nak bawa lagu nih. Erm... kenapa orang kita slalu tak paham beza antara MENJERIT dan MENYANYI. Bezanya lebih dari sekadar ejaan yer... Fiq tadik MENJERIT. Sekali melalak, melolong.. etc. He murdered my favourite song.

Kasihnya Balkis - Adnan Abu Hassan/Mohariz Yaakup/Aishah
Selamat datang ke Hari Penyampaian Sekolah Rendah Kampung Pelir Hitam!!!! (time Akademi Fantasia jer biasa nama Kampung Pelir Hitam digunakan - and by the way... tuh bukan carot ek... apparently it exists in Sarawak!...konon la - ni pun aku layan dari @15 bebudak sembang)
Wrong presentation for wrong event. And kak Aishah was not at her best.

Sembunyi - Aidit Alfian/Loloq/Misha Omar & Andy Flop Poppy
There were so many things wrong about this performance I don't know where to start.
Masaalah teknikal, sora tenggelam, Andy semput tak sampai note... etc. Wrong... wrong... wrong.

Janjiku - Taja & Tass/Sofaz
Meka naik pentas pas lepak Kotaraya ke? Wardrobe takde budget or sponsor ke?
And performance? Better than semifinal... tapi tetap vocal tahap busuk.

Iziku Pergi - Azlan Abu Hassan/Sulu Sarawak/Sahri
Aiyo... seb baik aku bukan kat rumah, kalao tak confirm tukar channel. I think Sahri has improved, but the whole presentation membosankan sial. Static, flat... zzzzzzzzzz

Angan Dan Sedar - M. Nasir/Loloq/Mawi
That's my magician bud! Walaupun sebenarnya nak wat quick change tapi tak pakai teknik sebenar, aku tetap salute Mawi.
Semua elemen show dia pakai, and sora takde la koyak, walaupun ada yang anti Mawi kutuk memacam.
Proud of him - and camna pon he did his best, which was among the best for the night.

Ceritera Cinta - Ross Ariffin/Habsah Hassan/Jaclyn Victor & Lah Ahmad
Jac rocks - Lah should just relax. But I like the chemistry between them, and the smoke effect on stage, gave it an ethereal feel. Sweet. But again, not Best Vocal Performance material at all for me on Lah's part. Jac takyah la cakap. Amazing as usual.

Itu Kamu - Estranged/Richael Lawrence/Estranged
Menjerit aku time nih. Awesome! Good song, even better arrangement, and awesome performance - in a simple presentation which was true to the spirit of the song.
Memang antara best performance. Masih... masih...masihhhhhhhhh!!!! Sing with me now!

Dirgahayu - Eddie Hamid/Hairul Anuar Harun/Ramlah Ram
Aku kuar isap rokok sebab tak larat da tinga asik berdarah.

Kasih Tercipta - Ajai/Shuhaimi Baba/Bob
Lari masuk balik the moment dengar sora Bob. Me likey! Powerful, honest and simply.. WOW.
Undoubtedly - top three male vocals in Malaysia (korang stuju ke tak lantak la) in no particular order are Hazami, Bob and Anuar Zain.
Bob is so underrated sometimes kesian dia. I hope persembahan dia nih membuka mata orang to his abilities.
Ok kita break jap layan pics, kalao tak ada yang ngadu pening nak baca fonts aku yang kicik comel cam aku.

Mek & Donald

Hari ni punyalah malas sebenarnya nak kuar ke apa. Rasa nak guling guling kat katil jerk. Sekali sekala bebetul day off nih yang besh. Tapi had to go to 1 Utama tuk sidang media dan juga showcase Anugerah Juara Lagu 22.

Mak aih... decor centre court area tuh cam ada majlis perkahwinan lak. Tema sesuatuh sangat.




I didn't watch the showcase sebab dok luar sembang tempat meka ada reception. Cuma sempat layan si Faizal nyanyi Mahakarya Cinta jerk.

Tak semua artis yang layak hadir ari nih. Of course yang missing yang nama nama paling besau like Siti, Mawi and Jac sebab memasing ada komitment... biasalah Saturday nih mesti show berlambak. Ada lak yang belah awal.. so nih jerk pics yang aku sempat amik of those yang hadir.





Ramai woo yang menyerbu gak. Sampai naik claustrophobic aku. So edged away slowly. Ni part of the crowd yang menyerbu. Do you spot yourselves in it?



Hah ni ada sorang agik artis yang lupa tempek pic. Heh... kalao korang tak cam takper. Sebenarnya nih kak Kelly dari TV3.

She's an executive producer (sorry kak kalao pangkat salah!!!!)

Saja je sakat dia nak amik pic dia. Dia nih kira star gak sebab menjadi tumpuan ramai. And tak nak ketinggalan photo op kak Kelly. Matilah aku!!!

Arghhh... ampun kak Kelly, mencarut!!! Anyhoo, after we were done, ingat nak join si Farihad and gang sambung shopping tapi dok sembang sembang ditinggalkan lak.

Erm... dilema baru. Patut ker aku dok tempat aku skang ke, amik tawaran yang lebih lumayan yang mendatang.

Masaalahnya, nak join the corporate culture tak larat aku. Argh! Nak very the protocol gituh nak pakai kemeja and slacks, kekadang tie and suit... campur lagik dalam keadaan camtuh kena kiss ass boss besau semua. Camnih nih. Nak ke tanak. Kalau amik, mewah ler hidop... siap ada ramai ler staff sendiri... tapi... sanggup ker aku nak korbankan keselesaan aku to be who I am for now?

Major dilemma... so tak nak pikir wat skang. Kalao reseki ada tak kemana. It come with so many pros and cons. Apart from the money, and having a team of my own, I'd also be able to make some of my ideas a reality.

The downside is aku kena dress more corporate (no more weird hair, piercings or t shirt and jeans), pandai bodek orang atasan as well as have my ideas mangled more than occasionally.
But the money's good.

Well... all of us have to grow up sometime. So kena seriously consider lah nih. Just that aku risau kang tak happy tak tahan lak. Because it means restricting who I am for the sake of a paycheck.
To shake the burden of the offer made by a kind soul who shall remain anonymous, aku pun jejalan la shopping carik birthday present tuk Maz. Suka taw last minute.

Seb baik ada sale! Everywhere was on sale. Dorothy Perkins, Miss Selfridge, Guess, but finally settle for Topshop sebab lebih pada selera dressing Maz.

Picked out three tops after nearly two hours deliberation.

Extra tuh nak bagik sis aku. Matilah alasan kalao nak shopaholic kan?


Realised I hadn't eaten anything the whole day, so popped down to the fast food outlets. Bumped into Datuk Farid Redzuan and family. Bought some snacks, tapi didn't get to eat much, no thanks to the wonderful view I got below.



Sped back to Shah Alam, picked up Boo and joined Maz and friends for her birthday celebration. Didn't know a lot of them. Just a few like Maz herself, Ema and Lara among the all-girl crowd.

Sial jerk si Anas, Wandie dan Mozac tak sempat mai seperti dijanjikan. Anyway, happy birthday Maz! Semakin kertu ko!

Bought a pair of Russian Winter mini hamsters (at least I think that's the right species name). Also a cage, food pellets, pine shavings, vitamins etc.

Spent about RM107 total package. But the joy - PRICELESS!!!
Pastu ke tempat keja Ayien (selamat pengantin baru!!!) where we met Juan to lepak which was a McDonalds along a highway where he's manager.

Started fitting stuff together and all, and siapkan air dan makanan dan sebagainya.

Comel ok cage mini hamsters ni. Everything lengkap. From a small house, to a slide, to a wheel, food area as well as tempat minum air.

Mini hamsters aku nih, sepasang jantan dan betina start exploring la.

Yang jantan tuh dok tido je keja. Yang betina tuh hyper sampai tak hengat. Pine shavings went flying all over immediately sebab dia sibuk gali sana gali sini. Cam kesial.

But had a laugh alright. So I guess this was an okay buy for my Boo. Thank goodness I changed my mind from the sugar glider, the tarantula, the scorpion, the albino python and the whip snake.

Matilah kalao bak ke mana mana pets lain aku tuh, mau ada nya yang pengsan kan?

Anyway, sempena 'pembinaan' rumah dan sangkar meka, we named the hamsters after McDonalds.

That and another reason la.

Yang betina tuh nama Mek (matilah...tapi elok dari Markonah, Tumirah dan pelbagai lagik nama pelik di suggest oleh Boo dan si Juan)

Antara sebabnya sebab dia kuat menyepah bebenda dalam sangkar tuh. Er... go work it out.

Yang jantan tuh sebab dia reserved dan pendiam (actually keja makan tido je like most males), dinamakan Donald. Konon kelas sikt la...

Walaupun.

So in the end kena pakai gak mobile phone aku tuk snap. Aren't they just cute? Time ni meka tidur. Well, Donald yang kat bawah tuh was... si Mek ala ala romantic baring atas Donald jerk... tapi kejap kejap jaga (with probably the thought of stupoid humans taking my photos!)

Yawn... we stayed up and had supper AND breakfast at McDonalds' (matilah Supersize Me!)

Tired as all hell... malas nak tulis lebih. Ni pun da panjang lebar dari intended entry. Esok je la aku citakan sesuatuh berkaitan Akademi Fantasia ek.... night...
