Bummer!

Saiful did it, Najib has done it! It definitely is in the vogue now! Swearing in the mosque here has officailly ousted the previous favourites of statutory declarations! Swearing on the Quran itself however is still an optional activity, as in Najib's case.

It is still not known if Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will follow the latest trend or look for other means to introduce a new fad.

Meanwhile, incentives are still hot with impending the impending by election.

Petrol is down 15 sen to 22 sen as of today while diesel is down by 8 sen.

Never mind oil prices have dropped the last few weeks, and yesterday it dropped more than US$6 to USD$114.59 a barrel.

At that time of the price hike, the world oil price was US$125 a barrel before it began its downward trend since early this month!

Better late than never? Even it if it's only 15 sen?

La di da... boring!!!

Sorry about the entry smalam guys. Seriously been feeling blue the last couple of days but trying to keep it in. You know me... every couple of months I have my emotional breakdown gituh. Traumatising kan?

Anyway... really didn't feel like updating at all.

But first a quick recap. Thursday night was an occasion to say happy birthday to Farhan with a surprise party by family and friends at her home. And boy was she surprised! Sampai in tears tuh!

Didn't do much remainder of the night as could feel depression peeking. Yesterday wasn't any better. In fact it was a slide further. Felt like shit... The weather was a little reflective of my mood though. Grey and stormy.

The weather forecast for today? Looking out my window, expect pretty much the same weather? Me? Hoping to spend a little time to get over this depp blue funk I'm going through.
Will update... soon... hopefully...

PS - Note to self. Have emotional breakdown at convenience of others from now on.

Aku mahu tidur

Yang indah hanya di mimpi
Yang sempurna tak mungkin dalam sedar
Penungguan mentari indah
Suatu pengkhianatan
Hanya doa yang mengiringi
Memberikan semangat kepadaku
Buat sementara
Keletihan menyerang aku kembali
Aku mahu tidur dulu
Buat seketika sahaja
Semoga aku masih dapat lihat
Sinar mentari pagi lagi
Walaupun sesaat
Doakan aku...

So-sial event

Tension tahap gaban aku smalam. Temankan Faz, along with Juan and Ju ke event pelancaran majalan hiburan baru ni. Malas nak sebut event apa la. Tak perlu nak bagik promosi percuma untuk event yang macam $%^&!!!

Yang make my blood go upstairs sangat sebab aku kesian sangat panggil selebriti tempatan nak make the event more meletup gituh, tapi layanan diberikan macam. Erm...

Dahler staff dia tak kenal majority of the local artists, especially the Malay entertainment industry. So ko imagine ler the sort of things that can and did happen. Sakit jiwa kalao aku repeat. Yang dia kenal yang bukan Melayu saja.

Apahal nak wat event camni sebab nak the attention, tapi tetap ignore when you get what you've gotten. So salah ok!

Anyway, seb baik ada ler aku snappy some pics tuk isi masa. Thank goodness ramai gak kengkawan hadir. Walaupun memasing semua muka sentap gak sebab yang ada free flow Stout je. Aiyo... tak sensitif langsung meka. Rupanya someone forgot to mention Coke was an alternative. Matilah...

So ramai terlopong bodoh jer la... lucky sempat isi masa ngan gosip. Merasalah.
Got to chill with Faz, goss ngan Sarimah sebab lama da tak catch up ngan dia, as well as borak panjang ngan Vanessa.

Tapi aku terbodoh gak event tuh sebab aku jumpa someone yang erm... you know when you meet someone yang, I don't know.. just makes you wish there and then ko leh propose to them?

Sempat sembang ngan dia tapi I think I made a fool out of myself sebab nervous. There you go. Interview memacam orang tapi simple conversation ngan someone I fancy leh horror.

Macamana tuh... damn.

Moving on... so here are some pics of friends at the most boring event of the year.

And of course I have to feature Faz, sebab loved the Chanel ankle purse she wore which was like really red, and matched with the red trademark soles of her Christian Louboutin. Check out the second pic to pick up on the Chanel ankle purse. It's so cute! They made their rounds on the catwalk a few seasons ago but if you saw the Nelly music video Stepped On My Js, Ciara ada pakai pon.

One pic I snapped which I liked a lot was Rich and Velvet together. Yes, they're coming out. Tak nak cover cover lagik! Not like we didn't know they were an item, but it was sweet to see them together as one.

And then... Vanessa was with a friend who just arrived fom Japan. For fans of The Amazing Race Asia 2, you'll recognise the Japanese contestant who was up again Van and Pam along with her brother. I think her name's Sawaka. Before anyone asks who's that with Sarimah.. tuh adik dia.

The last pic tuh si Razif Hashim. Remember he was in Gol Dan Gincu. Also Ghost, and movies Goodbye Boys dan yang terbaru Jarum Halus. Also in a couple of theatre productions and last seen in 8TV's Quickie before he quit. Dalam berapa minggu he's heading for London nak pursue his Masters in acting. Good luck Raz!!!

Bangga talents muda kita. Sayang old crockpots rule the business when young promising talents like this overlooked.

Eh dahlah... nak kuar jejalan. Bosan dok rumah ari ni takde keja nak wat lak.

Now look what you made her do...

Miss Avril Lavigne, 1999

Avril Lavigne's Malaysian Concert Denied Permission

August 20, 2008 02:59:58 GMT

The Arts, Culture and Heritage Ministry agree to Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party that her 'sexy' act will not coordinate with the image they want to create for upcoming independence day.

Avril Lavigne will not perform in Malaysia on August 29 as scheduled due to the opposition sent by an Islamic movement that deemed her act as too "sexy" for the event leading up to the country's independence day on August 31. The canceled gig, however, will be rescheduled by the organizer Galaxy Group, to a new date which will still need approval from The Arts, Culture and Heritage Ministry.
Based on the meeting conducted on Tuesday, August 19, the ministry decide to give an all-clear to the appeal sent by Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party that fears youths in Malaysia will be influenced by Avril's performance. Speaking on the reason of the cancellation, Shukran Ibrahim who is a senior official from the department said, "It is not timely. It's not in the good spirit of our National Day. If we go ahead with the concert, it is contrary to what we are preparing for."
Galaxy Group, that have not yet given their statement regarding the ban as in press time, promoted the concert even before given permission from the government which is compulsory for foreign acts. It was reported that half of the concert seats have been sold.
Earlier this week, Kamarulzaman Mohamed from Pan-Malaysian told the Associated Press that Avril's sexy image is "not good for viewers in Malaysia." The youth party official said, "We don't want our people, our teenagers, influenced by their performance. We want clean artists, artists that are good role models."
Foreign acts have to abide to the dress code and stage rules set by the Malaysian government if they want to perform in the country which is largely dominated by Islam faith. They require that the stage costumes should cover from chest to knees and that they should not include any drug-related image. Shouting, kissing, hugging and jumping are also banned from the stage.
Last year, Beyonce Knowles preferred to move the concert to neighboring country Indonesia when the rules were applied to her. Gwen Stefani, however, raised the challenge by abiding to the rules and wear 'descent' clothes.

Fetched from Acesshowbiz

So there you go. One more international artist thinking so much more of the lovely regulations our country comes up with. And we wonder why it's so hard to get big names to come our way, or even if they do, it's way past their prime.

Only a handful conform to our high moral standards, and are worthy of our time.

Notch one more great achievement up for Malaysia.

Wonder what they mean by not in the spirit of Merdeka when the concert's 48 hours away. Oh well.. the mind boggling mysteries of the universe...

Now look what you made her do...

PS - Reuters is quoted to say that it is merely 'postponed'.

PS Pt II - Am on my own to a party. Be posting more later tonight.

Yawn...and then some...

So I needed rest. After the hard rockin' Pesta Malam Indonesia... damn... hell yeah I needed to recover. Lama da tak enjoy concert camtuh. Nak harapkan konsert tuh nih, ada je yang tak bagi saying it's too sexy... too wild... too.... (fill in the blanks here).

But... as usual.. I'm starting off all wrong.

Today was quite relaxed. While awaiting news of the budget presentation of Project R, aku siang tadik ajak Juan singgah Suria FM tuk gi lunch skali ngan Julia. Skali skala kan, lepak ngan kengkawan nak catch up... nak gosip... I mean... erm... nak intellectually debate...matilah... so it's just idle gossip lah. So sue me!

Anyhoo, before and also after lunch, aku kaco ler kehidupan seseorang nih. Sapa lagik kalao bukan taiko sana, Engku Emran Engku Zainal Abidin (motif sampai letak nama penoh?)
Yes, as you can see, Emran was very hard at work.

Merasalah sibuk with that thing Between My Legs (ewwwwww!!!!). Erm... if you bothered to click that link, tuh ler blog dia. But one thing ler... dia sibuk ngan blog dia pun berfaedah.

Sebab Emran for one, who is also the vice-president of the association of local radio stations Commercial Radio Malaysia (CRM) is one of the few who have dared vocally voiced out his opinions AGAINST the 90:10 quota proposed by Karyawan to DICTATE what people should hear on local radio.

CLICK HERE if you want to read what Emran thinks on the issue, plus, also he has some interesting bits (jenuh aku baca tau... sampai juling mata aku panjang gila babas karangan dia). INCLUDING a chat with Amy Search which I found quite insightful... mind you ni the guy which was painted by the media as the head of the mob leading the witch hunt against the Indonesian music scene infiltrating our shores gitu.

Respek gak ngan Emran nih sebab walaupun there are a lot of SNIVELLING COWARDS out there in the form of artists and management, here is one man who speaks his mind. FINALLY!
Few have spoken out on this issue because they think it's not going to go anywhere (let's face it - it's all about political mileage anyway for some). But damn..

CLICK HERE to read my previous post on the issue and what I thought.

And since I am on that topic, just wanted to add some insightful thoughts (insightful ke?)
Anyway - Emran - cheers to you for being proud of what you have between your legs (leh tak aku rename my blog Di Celah Kangkang Aku?) cause you sure have 'em for speaking out. Even though you find it hard to keep your word bila kata nak call ke time ajak minum (matilah akuuuu... lariiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!)

Isn't it strange that MOST acts here don't compose or write their own tunes when the ones they lambast in the Indonesians do?

And remember in the 80s and 90s industry kecoh kata DJ kena sogok (sebab time tuh DJ semua mainkan lagu pilihan sendiri konon syok sendiri dan tak hormat selera pendengar. Matilah da tukar format pun nak carut katakan screw the listeners, the should be listening to what we dictate.

Panjang lak ceramah aku tiap kali bukak bab nih.

Moving on... anyhoo pas lunch, dropped by back Bangsar nak bagik makan sugar glider aku yang tercayang tuh. Merasalah masuk hari keempat tak stock makanan dia. Baby aku tuh mesti kebulur. Singgah to buy some apples from TMC, and then picked up tea.

Yummy! Lama tak camni ok. Just some pics.. korang layan jer la...

Yeap, bought EVERYTHING you saw in the pics above. But bukan aku makan sorang. Ada geng nolong. When was buying stuff, spotted these!

Forgot totally dah Hungry Ghost month, which also brings about the Lantern Festial da. Ah... memories of childhood when I would raze off the eyebrows of at least two of my cousins while sustaining third degree burns on myself when lighting up these dastardly contraptions of fiery doom. Yes, I was a horror even back then. Childhood memories can be so fascinating when you're not feeling the actual pain of it.

Dapat call dari Faz to meet up as promised so we scooted over to Rasta kat Damansara nak melantak. Damn! Lepak dari something like 6pm to I think about 11pm. Faz and PA dia si Jue ciao then but Juan and I didn't, sebab

Wanda and Vee drop by. Konon nak berinterview tapi last last jadik sesi gosip.

And we went on and on I think about almost 1am. Merasalah aku da masa tuh mengantuk nak doze off da. Headed back home and finished this entry. Got some pictures that made me laugh my ass off.

Guess who is this Erykah Badou (matilah Erykah Badut) lookalike.

Erm... playing London Bridge?

Bootylicious? NOT!

Oooh... you better work... COVERGIR! PUKE!

Guessed who it is yet? If you don't know I think the names under the queen in question (in that hideous flowy floral ensemble) should pretty much tell you.

But if you still NEED to know who it is, CLICK HERE!

Me? Going to sleep...

Need to recuperate gituh.

Pesta Malam Indonesia 2 - Part 3 (The rest of the show)

Pas abih je Sheila On 7, I was already malas with the fest. Bukan apa, satu tak minat sangat remainder of the bands, walaupun Ungu dan Peterpan ada lagu yang not too bad and Slank showmanship and musicianship meletop. Secondly letih da banging lama sangat.

But, after a break, and a technical glitch yang naikkan kemarahan crowd, Ungu was on next. They were pretty awesome. Tapi aku amik pics sikit jer mostly of Pasha, so enjoy them. It was dark by then, so the pics look kind of nicer.

Just as they were settling things, aku gerak lepak kat keta. Nak baring sambil layan. So tak perasan cita Ariel Peterpan bukak baju until the rest of the guys cita ngan aku when they came to the car.

Heh.. rasanya kena kes Faizal Tahir tak? Not like it matters as this is the last performance for Peterpan anyway sebab the band soon-to-be-defunct.

Pics courtesy of dreamerzzz from CARI

Not too bothered about it actually, though undoubtedly ada lak pasni kecoh pasal artis Indonesia wat camtuh. Biasalah amik kesempatan memandangkan isu weirdo in this business versus Indonesian songs and artists.

Whatever...

Anyway, tak minat sangat pun Peterpan nih, ok ok je. Tapi suka kat Uki. Dia ni cool jerk.

Back to the show, I thought this year's fest was ok tapi aku just tak suka the order of line-up. Still think Samsons and Sheila On 7 should have gone on later. But nak wat camna. And erm... tak perlu la Slank lagi. Some bands like Andra and the Backbone or Dygta would be nice.
Tapi overall worth la kalao bayar RM50 to watch so many quality acts.

We adjourned to Pelita when Slank got going. Member sana kata Pasha dari Ungu baru ciao lepas makan sana. Matilah Pasha pun ke Pelita katanya.

Anyway, here's the catch of the day. Irfan campak pick dia pas abih show. Si Ted dapat. Heh! Amik ko... yawn.. need some rest to recuparate. Be posting soon. Three entries in one day with over a hundred pics. That HAS to be a record!

Pesta Malam Indonesia 2 - Part 2 (The Sheila On 7 special)

Told you the last entry was going to be heavy with pics. For fans of Samsons, hope you guys are happy with it. Susah nak rock out while trying to take some nice pics.

Anyway, nak relate sikit ler. Actually, honestly, dulu aku tak penah minat Samsons. Album pertama was so so jer for me, nothing great. And I used to hate Kenangan Terindah... didn't help that my ex had a caller ringtone with that, sampai horror bila aku dengar lagu tuh meluat aku teringat dia. Heh.. matilah.

But their amazing direction in their second album Penantian Hidup made me a fan. Nay, a groupie! And friend of Samsons! And I'm proud to say that because they are a bunch of talented boys.

But before I discovered Samsons, aku tak penah la gila muzik Indonesia except for another band. Sheila On 7.

Their songs were inspirational in a poetic delivery of emotions.

Eross was one of the biggest songwriters for me for his uncanny ability to capture everything with his music and the right choice of words.

Even Irfan, the brains behind Samsons pun minat Eross, and the first time I met Irfan, we chatted about Eross and his tunes as well. And perhaps that's another reason why I like Samsons' songs. Sebab their directon in material was going the right way.

Anyway, lepas Samsons perform during Pesta Malam Indonesia 2, the next band up was Sheila On 7.

Tengah say bye to Bam masa pas Samsons performed, aku perasan bebudak Sheila On 7 getting ready. Aku so preoccupied with Samsons, my favourite band now, that aku leh tak perasan possibly one of the best Indo rock bands to come out of Indonesia.. EVER!

Spotted Eross, Adam and Duta. Sempat borak ngan Adam, whom I last met YEARS ago masa Anugerah Industri Muzik. Kesian dia masih ada fever sikit. Kol 3 pagik on the day of the show, he had to have a jab, and another later in the morning.

But he was ok by showtime, and Sheila On 7 which is on a comeback trail, is back with a vengeance. They proved that they still have the most charisma onstage and were able to rock it out with the best of them.

Aku salute meka for their mettle onstage. Tapi bab Duta memang dia sora dan performace dia still tops. Eross pun still has lots of his magic, and meka berjaya pikat audience.

Ada dua tiga kali masa show, crowd unruly sikit leh gaduh, mesti kes moshing sentap menyentap gituh. But they managed to calm the audience down, and even joked about until everyone settled down. Amazing!

It was indeed a learning experience seeing Sheila On 7. Tuk aku meka the experienced hands now, and Samsons the new generation, but both bands in my eyes, are equal for their beauty of delivery on and offstage.

Enough with the text for this entry. Just enjoy the pics, and the excellent showmanship. Oh, and the pics kat bawah with Irfan tuh, masa dia join kita in the pit, sebab dia pun nak tengok show his idols. So we ended up headbanging together.

Rockin'!!!!

So for fans of Sheila On 7 harap terubat rindu korang ler. Look out for their upcoming new album. It's going to be great! Eh.. banyaknya pics... korang tau tak berejam nak transfer, edit, upload dan link. Really hope you guys like all the pics. I know I do.

Wait for the last entry on everything else on Pesta Malam indonesia 2. Tribute aku pada my two fave bands da complete.

Until the next entry coming up... ciao!
