For the Beliebers

You heard it here first. Justin Bieber is coming to Malaysia.

The singing foetus grosses me out. He's like a yucky version of Alvin and the Chipmunks musically, with more hair on the head, and hairless everywhere else and forgets he's all vanilla.

But for Beliebers, rejoice for it has apparently been confirmed he will coming to Kuala Lumpur in March 2011. Remember. You heard it here first. Will let you guys know more about the Bieber when I get details.

For the Glamberts

So I promised you guys pics. Here it is. Took an eternity to get everything up...

But.. before anything, this is me and some friends with Adam backstage. It was funny and sort of embarrassing. Since this was my second time in a day meeting up with him, after our interview over the phone - the moment we walked into the room, Adam said, "Hi, it's you again!" and smiled.

Before I could say anything, one of my friends, screamed, ran up, hugged and kissed Adam on the cheek. I had never seen her go crazy like that before, so it was kind of shocking. Funny... but shocking. Especially when Adam went blubbering, "... no kiss... no kiss".

We talked a little and snapped a pic for memories and that was that.

By the way, if you guys are looking for the set list for the night, here it is.

In order of performance, it was Voodoo, For Your Entertainment, Down The Rabbit Hole, Ring Of Fire, Fever, Sleepwalker, Whataya Want From Me, Soaked, Broken Open, Aftermath, Surefire, Strut, Music Again and If I Had You with the encore of Mad World and 20th Century Boy.

Won't review the concert except to say the experience was one of the best I've had next to Black Eyed Peas (their Genting show not the dumb ass MTV World Stage performance) and Beyonce's tour stopover in Bangkok that I caught.

Adam was at the top of his game, and he was the consummate performer - in every aspect.

Ok.. enough yapping. Enjoy the pic, courtesy of Sony Music Malaysia.

Harassment

I nearly, very nearly had my day spoiled yesterday.

Initially, I thought nothing could go wrong. It was to be a fun day. I had the press conference with Adam Lambert, then his concert... good day, huh?

That's what I thought...

Was at the Stadium Putra by 5.15pm, way early because friends in the right places helped us get the meet and greet passes. I thought the stadium was to be empty. Oops.. silap sungguh ye, cause ramai sangat orang dah by that time.

And voila! Finally about 6pm, it was time to meet Adam.

I'll post up the picture of Adam and my friends (and also with me) soon.

Meanwhile, I noticed this as we were in the loading area. Korang ingat tak time Anugerah Juara Lagu arituh kecoh tersebar the pics from my blog pasal akak ponti kat atas bumbung kan?

Hah... sapa tak caya aku, yang Stadium Putra ni keras.. tengok ni. This was at the backstage area.

Tuh dia! Nak halau benda-benda halus katanya.

By the time I cleared the backstage area, the crowd was really getting crazy.

Spent some time amusing myself by tweeting endless mesages with the digiglambert hashtag just to watch it pop up on screens all around the venue. Coolness!

Also entertained myself with stuff like this....

Went into the stadium, got my seats in the press box. Masa tu it was like half full (or half empty, if you're a pessimist).

Then got word that the PAS demonstrators were outside. So sebab show lom start, my friends and I went out to see if there really was a commotion.

Yeap... ada... and they were handing out all these hate pamphlets. Wild, pornographic, extreme, gay, homosexual...

What the....

Are you serious? Get a life la. The concert has gotten the permission to proceed under strict conditions, why politicize the situation by using religion? I think this is where the leadership of PAS has to bitch slap these little people yang bising je lebih and end up bringing a negative view of extremism about Islam to the world.

Masa press conference, international wire services kept asking about this. And the first to jump on the demonstration - were the foreign press.

So good going, PAS. Again, you made the world think we're all in the dark ages.

The truth is, the yelping ones outside did more harm that good.

Aku bagi contoh.

This boy in his 20s, was repeating himself like orang nak beli suratkhabar lama.

"Adam Lambert is a gay! Don't let him kiss Malaysian men! Don't let him bring gay to Malaysia".

WHAT THE FUCK!

I mean, seriously????

Number one - the whole fucking world knows he's gay. So thank you for showing us you finally moved up somehow and learnt to use Google. Secondly, again, it's the perversion of thought that he would want to kiss Malaysian men. I mean... maybe Asians aren't his thing even. That's like saying a heterosexual men wants to sleep with every woman out there. Ko hengat being gay means every man is appealing? Those who were demonstrating - they were as appealing as wet, bunched up armpit hair with a rich splash of talcum to clot it all.

And bring gays to Malaysia? What is he? An import fag service?

Seriously... the PAS demonstrators are nothing but a joke - and coming up to the elections next year, these type of airheads are just stupid, judgemental, stereotyping haters.

To everyone out there, Islam IS a beautiful religion and I don't see how these people can claim to spread Islam with such venom they spew.

One classic case of what happened was a couple of tudung-ed girls were being stopped. They had spent berapa ratus Ringgit on good seats, and were being stopped and lectured.

And in the end, after the girls kept getting stopped, they just ran for their lives into the stadium.

Tu satu hal.. non-Muslims were harassed - by their presence, by their hate literature and by their general disrespect that we are living in a democratic society governed by laws.

Gi je la konsert Maher Zain. Ni pon aku tengok orang PAS dok luar tu dari Maghrib ke Isyak... I'm wondering if they neglected, in all their piety, their religious duties. Lom agik soal anak bini kat umah...

In the end.. this was what we saw...

They should have campaigned for an anti-littering stance instead. Their literature was all over - the floor.

And instead... the party kept growing to some 15,000 people inside.

It was wild - and it was fun. but no, there was no kissing. There was no horrible moral decay - not anymore than your average Jom Heboh. So there.

PS - More pics and all in the next entry.

Cap it

I love concerts. I usually go anyway. So anyway made my way for the Usher concert earlier. Bumped into Nabila. Lawa dia pas salin nih.

As usual, with Galaxy, the promoters, f-ups here and there before we can finally make it in the stadium, missing all the opening acts of Aliff, Iz and Mizz Nina.

I have to say the layout was better than the Kelly Clarkson gig, so good for Galaxy on that.

Didn't enjoy the concert as much as I hoped. I think by the end, all it made me realize was how overhyped the whole Usher gig was.

First of all. The set-up. It was like a showcase more than an actual concert. The sheer size of it was unimpressive. He had like a four piece musician set-up, with obvious reliance to pre-programmed backing - including vocal tracks since there were no obvious backing singers.

Oh yes, he had six dancers, but their choreography was crap.

And Usher himself lacked stamina. In fact for the first few songs, he tried to so desperately to dance for maximum impact, but he couldn't pull it off with panache and worse still, it affected his singing. Or at least it would have if he had actually sung instead of just lifting bits off here and there.

And the most biggest turn-off (walaopon ramai puki yang merembes). He kept touching himself so much, it became contrived and desperately trying to appear sexy. And the endless wiping and throwing towels (the one where he wiped his armpits and some stupid bitches were screaming and begging for the towel was fucked) was just stupid. And worse still, when he had a good thing going, he spoilt it by trying so hard to be sexy that it spoilt the moment.

Best performance would have been There Goes My Baby... but again one of the above was to blame for spoiling the moment.

So all in all, Usher never was top of my list (already I think he's overrated, and that was before he destroyed Michael Jackson's Gone Too Soon during the memorial service for the King of Pop) - and now he's somewhere in the sub-continent of stars who can actually perform live.

But look!
Yup... for those at the concert, that's the cap Usher wore during the first couple of songs at the opening.

What am I doing with it? Smelled kinda funky (not a good kind of funky), but a female friend was one of those crazy hormonal females managed to catch it (it was the first thing of many including stinky towels and empty mineral water bottles).

Too bad someone forgot to remove the price tag.

Bet you that that's Usher's way of saying, "that's making your ticket worth it" cause the show itself memang rugi dan buang masa je and simply forgettable.

The only positive thing I can say is - I now love There Goes My Baby. At least when I play the CD I don't have to see him performing it like some crazed, juiced up go-go boy gone wrong.

Usher who? Paul rocks!

Ok so I've been doing quite few lazy posts on Foursquare. Sebenarnya memang nak tolong kawan-kawan lain get the badges I have. I have so many requests to help out and I do want to help you guys, but while I have no qualms about jumpers (read previous entries on Foursquare to understand what jumpers are), I am not going to teach you everything.

I help only in letting you know HOW to get the badges. In other words, you're already there in terms of knowing how to unlock the badges. How you actually do it - you have to make a little bit of effortlah. Takkan nak suap segalanya. Kang nanti the purists (and jealous) kata aku ajar korang menipu lak. Kan?

Anyway, hari ni nak lari topik sikit. Tadi gi jumpa Usher. Hado?

Mr Usher Raymond came all the way here for 15 minutes. That's the 'press conference' Matilah ko! Bodoh ke apa management sampai kekwat camtuh. Ke keja promoter as usual yang takleh pakai. Everyone 'loves' Galaxy... those who have been to their concerts can draw their own conclusions.

Anyway, if you're an Usher fan, nah amik ko! Ni pic member aku snappy. Sesuai baring kat lantai jek.

Ni dari penyanyi dari tweet pon panggil KL - Kuala LAMPUR. Matilah ko!

Heh! Esok keja nya pasal kena gi layan concert dia. Ok la tuh. He's got some nice tunes, tapi ada aku kisah pasal dia? Layan jerk.

More interesting however, is the World Cup match that just ended. Netherlands is in the final (yawn!). Not that I like Uruguay - but I prefer if the final was just Spain and Germany. Unfortunately tomorrow they clash for the other spot in the final.

I like both teams (Spain a little more, but the only team I supported for real is Mexico) so it's sad they have to showdown for the final. I will however be wearing my Spain jersey.

Especially since Paul has predicted Spain will win, convincing me even more.

Paul - is a German octopus for those who don't know.

And yes, he picked Spain!!! Paul, apparently has been right on all the predictions for Germany so far, but when it came to the showdown with the Spaniards, he betrayed his own homeland. Heh!

Matilah pasnih ko jadik la sepeket Double Decker la, Paul!

Layan the news video.

And this is the raw footage from AP. I think I'm a fan of Paul. Seb baik tak dok Malaysia, kalao tak abih kena kerumun nak ramal nombor ekor.

So actually pics of this came up a few days ago, but apparently it was some Spanish fans who were desperate to prove Paul - the worldwide sea-oracle would predict Spain would win.

Hence these picture was circulated. Without the usual video recording of the 'fortune telling' session.

Apparently this is the original photo where Paul picked Serbia over Germany in the group rounds. Was that even an attempt to make it look like the Spanish flag? Horrific Photoshop effort!

But the Oracle with tentacles has spoken and Spain it is, Paul!

Anyone wanna bet on Germany? I think I'm confident in Paul enough... place your bets, people!

PS - Packed day tomorrow!!! One album launch, a tea session, a concert! Argh!!! And then, have to stay awake for the match! Thursday going to be so zombiefied! At least I have a week in Bangkok waiting! Yeay! Will be watching final in Bangkok!

PPS - Am so thankful that God has shown me that masih ramai sayang kat aku. Everyday is a blessing as I'm finding more and more things that make me smile. Amen!
