Went for the gala premiere of Magika tadik. Dah dua kali ku tonton, dari preview sebelom ni berbulan lalu.
Again, kalao nak mintak aku review, tak larat lor. Bukan aku entertainment website. I'm just a blog - a personal blog, which is just my personal opinion of things. Things that I choose to talk about.
But kalao nak mintak opinion aku, depending on what you're looking for. It's a good family popcorn movie. Nak kata rugi, takkan la kalao beli tiket. Would I buy a ticket to watch? Yes.
But maybe simply because aku memang suka tengok lakonan Ning sebagai Puteri Gunung Ledang, Ziana sebagai Nenek Kebaya, Nani dan Leya sebagai Bawang Putih dan Bawang Merah, Pak Nil sebagai Pak Pandir. Kira amusing la to have our own version of Alice In Wonderland with all our favourite artistes.
Star power memang kaw kaw. Ada Mawi, Diana Danielle, Maya Karin, M Nasir... aduh. Ramai la. Dah.. malas nak taip panjang. Baik korang layan pics at the premiere.
Kalao korang perasan aku perangai kemalasan menulis. Tapi ni sebab kesibukan aku so paham la ek. Pe pon, aku kejar rezek ni, blog peribadi ku menjadi tanggungjawab semakin berat nak maintain. Especially since aku lebih meriah ber-micro blogging via Twitter. So add aku sana lagik up to date.
But I am not getting rid of my blog, and I won't stop. But just that kekadang malas tulis panjang ke, ataupon lambat update, mintak paham-paham la ek. Heh...
I love concerts. I usually go anyway. So anyway made my way for the Usher concert earlier. Bumped into Nabila. Lawa dia pas salin nih.
As usual, with Galaxy, the promoters, f-ups here and there before we can finally make it in the stadium, missing all the opening acts of Aliff, Iz and Mizz Nina.
I have to say the layout was better than the Kelly Clarkson gig, so good for Galaxy on that.
Didn't enjoy the concert as much as I hoped. I think by the end, all it made me realize was how overhyped the whole Usher gig was.
First of all. The set-up. It was like a showcase more than an actual concert. The sheer size of it was unimpressive. He had like a four piece musician set-up, with obvious reliance to pre-programmed backing - including vocal tracks since there were no obvious backing singers.
Oh yes, he had six dancers, but their choreography was crap.
And Usher himself lacked stamina. In fact for the first few songs, he tried to so desperately to dance for maximum impact, but he couldn't pull it off with panache and worse still, it affected his singing. Or at least it would have if he had actually sung instead of just lifting bits off here and there.
And the most biggest turn-off (walaopon ramai puki yang merembes). He kept touching himself so much, it became contrived and desperately trying to appear sexy. And the endless wiping and throwing towels (the one where he wiped his armpits and some stupid bitches were screaming and begging for the towel was fucked) was just stupid. And worse still, when he had a good thing going, he spoilt it by trying so hard to be sexy that it spoilt the moment.
Best performance would have been There Goes My Baby... but again one of the above was to blame for spoiling the moment.
So all in all, Usher never was top of my list (already I think he's overrated, and that was before he destroyed Michael Jackson's Gone Too Soon during the memorial service for the King of Pop) - and now he's somewhere in the sub-continent of stars who can actually perform live.
But look!
Yup... for those at the concert, that's the cap Usher wore during the first couple of songs at the opening.
What am I doing with it? Smelled kinda funky (not a good kind of funky), but a female friend was one of those crazy hormonal females managed to catch it (it was the first thing of many including stinky towels and empty mineral water bottles).
Too bad someone forgot to remove the price tag.
Bet you that that's Usher's way of saying, "that's making your ticket worth it" cause the show itself memang rugi dan buang masa je and simply forgettable.
The only positive thing I can say is - I now love There Goes My Baby. At least when I play the CD I don't have to see him performing it like some crazed, juiced up go-go boy gone wrong.

Ni lak hero-hero Malaya masa backstage. Abang Rosyam ngan Farid Kamil skali tengah borak gurau tepuk tampar bagai.
And my rock diva for the night - Jac. Aku paling suka dia ngan Dayang (kalao female vocalists) pada malam tuh. Yang lain biasa-biasa jerk.
All in all, show kira ok la. Cuma bab tengah je. Opening, closing meletop. Tribute Kau Pergi Jua memang tangkap feel dan most of the other performances ok. Yang hado cuma tribute KRU tu yang walaopon ramai terlibat - tak seorang pon aku leh maapkan hancurkan lagu-lagu tuh.
Who would have thought.. selama ni kita ingat no one could sing as bad as Feminin. Hari tuh konsert Akademi Fantasia da buktikan ada yang mampu. Ni, established singers pon da mula tahap Akademi Fantasia. Eh established ke.. bebudak agik ramai... sabar je la. Nervous kot (alasan nak bagi sedap dengar).
Apapon, congrats, especially to Siti for regaining her crown back again.
And all the winners too in their categories. There is a reason why you guys won. Apapon, your popularity memang tahap sky high agik and it's been proven. Skang jaga fans ek... kalao tak kang kena boo lak.
Sebut bab tuh.. teringat Fasha dan Mawi kena boo. Erm... usaha la lebih keras nak menang balik hati peminat. Siti pon lepas genggaman kat title Bintang Paling Popular for berapa tahun... last menang 2004.

And ni the bride. Maapkan the quality or lack thereof, of the pictures. Biasala amik pakai Blackberry je (tu pon kira da meletop ok!). Malas nak galas bak camera berat sana sini time nak la la la... cantik sungguh baju Umie nih.
Again more on the decor. Memang classy and elegant... something missing in a lot of weddings bila nak feeling lavish. Umie's memang a wow and memang aku rasa ramai akan cuba niru kang.
Performers malam tuh, ada Farhan.. ada Ziana Zain... tuh je kot. Tak perasan lak...
My sis! Susah ni nak dapat time lepak ngan Nasha. Ni pon masa jumpa nak lepak borak, ramai nak amik pics ngan dia je.
Takpe la... kang lepak gak. Anyway, I think Nasha looks prettier by the day. I think people try so hard to look good, with her it's almost effortless!
