One year on...

It's amazing how quickly a year passes. We lost the King of Pop exactly a year ago today.

Don't want to blog much today, listening to a marathon of MJ's musical legacy that he left behind.

Anyway, saja nak kongsi some pics from Grazia magazine with their MJ inspired styling. Ladies, pepandai la korang styling kan kalao minat MJ ek.

Inspiration and interpretation, not imitation. I love the styling. WAY better than Agyness Deyn’s Harper's Bazaar tribute which came out the same time (CLICK HERE for pics - don't want to publish you as really fugly styling of overpriced shit)

Nothing much for today.... layan je la lagu Michael ni ek. I'll update again soon.

PS - Michael Jackson's This Is It is on tonight over Astro. It's a moving experience, so catch it if you claim to be a fan but didn't watch it when it was released (boo!)

Me will also be catching the World Cup match tonight to cheer on Brazil who will be playing Potty-girls tonight! Boo ya! Brazil, go into annihilate mode!

This is it

I have been dying to watch This Is It.

So finally the day arrived for me to catch the premiere of the movie.

Sampai Cineleisure with more than enough time to spare. Even had enough to scream obscenely at this stupid woman, who didn't see where she was going (makan angin sort) with her hubby, cause not only did she walk into my path (silap la langgar aku kena steamroll terus) - she had the cheek nak jeling kat aku, like really stare me down.

Like she was expecting some apology. Which I wouldn't have minded if she hadn't got this bitchy look that was like I'm in her way or something.

I walked off initially, but saw some friends just a few steps away, so started talking to them. Ten seconds later, I notice the couple staring at me still. Tak puas hati siot walaopon ko jalan tak tengok... matilah ko!

Aku sabar mula-mula... tapi da noya tahap gaban, I finally turned towards them. They stared at me with really ugly looks (could have been their natural expression). I held my tongue for two seconds, before exploding, "WHAT THE FUCK YOU LOOKING AT? NEXT TIME, FOCUS ON LOOKING WHERE YOU'RE GOING INSTEAD! Stupid bitch!"

Geram dowh. Serious... I could have been the gentleman and turned the other cheek and apologised. But being stared at like I was dirt, is instant redemption for kena maki abih da. So too bad.

Anyway, lepak depan Cineleisure for a while with mates about, and waited for everyone to group up.

Anyhoo, finally went up to the cinema. Well, fuck me! Terkejut sial! Ramai gila orang.

Amik ko.. merchandise on sale. I liked the t shirts - before I saw every Thong, Dev and Harith buying it. Erm.. nevermind.

I thought it was tasteless to be hawking stuff like this. Camna la orang tak kata trying to profit from Michael's death...

But oh well...

Pastu gi beratur. Mak aih.. panjang nya line.

Thanks to some nifty maneuvering, got in Hall 1 where we were in the batch of five five people. Slowly everyone came in. Yang bestnya ramai kawan bloggers dok dekat-dekat. Alamatnya, while waiting for the movie to start.. kecoh lah.

Spent 112 minutes watching it.

What can I say. I loved it.

If any of you want anything sensational - you're going to be disappointed. Nothing remotely referring to Michael. In fact, watching it, you wouldn't have imagined he was gone.

One thing for sure was that the This Is It show - had it gone on, it would have been his biggest show EVER.

The scale of it is amazing, and from the performances and the stunning visual delivery, it only hits home how rugi he didn't get to finish what he started.

I had so many favorite moments. Michael being funny with his quips occasionally. The dance sequences. The performances. The choice of songs. Everything.

If you are a Michael Jackson fan - you MUST watch this. In the cinema. Not some crap download or DVD. Trust me. You need the final experience.

Yes, no doubt you'll have to berebut with every idiot who wants to jump on the bandwagon with the hype surrounding the movie, but it's worth it.

This Is It celebrates Michael and his work.

Only by the end of it, did I actually tear up. Because at that point - you realise all the genius and brilliance you've witnessed, is now gone.

Yeap.. I guess even he didn't suspect when they coined This Is It, that it would really be it.

For me however, This Is It, for every real Michael fan, is closure. How to finally come to terms that he has left us.

I could see many people not appreciating the movie - and I had a friend who actually slept through a good part of it (sabar je lah). And a lot of people walked out of the cinema the moment the credits rolled.

Stupid!

Because I stayed. Singing along. With many other fans. We sang to the end. And there was a little bonus clip at the end of it.

And it was worth it.

So trust me guys, if you are fans... get your tickets... because this is really it.

It's all about love

Finally found the trailer to embed here. This is the official trailer for Michael Jackson's This Is It. I wonder if cinemas here will show it. Makes me so sad to watch even the trailer.

Still looking for tributes by Madonna and anet during the MTV VMA 2009. Susah tol Youtube ni skang, semua takleh.

PS - Rest in peace, Patrick Swayze.

This is it.. finally...

Watched the Michael Jackson throughout its entirety while sitting in front of the laptop on Facebook and Twitter and communicated my grief with other fans of Michael Jackson from midnight to past 4am just now.

It was a wondrously moving event, and definitely a memorial fit for a king! No less the King of Pop!

When it started and they carried the coffin in, I just broke down in front of the TV and cried. This was a man, who made me believe in all things magical and beautiful about music, and the power of it.

Memang sedih, especially with the backing of the Andrae Crouch Choir with Soon and Very Soon. I don't know. Suddenly it hit home, that the real life Peter Pan... was gone.

It was also touching to see the Jackson brothers who also served as pallbearers, carrying in the coffin, with one single white sequined glove on each. Michael would have smiled at that.

And when Mariah Carey came on all choked up, emotionally perhaps, though revealing too much cleavage for a memorial for her own good, it just brought on more tears as she dueted with Trey Lorenz on I'll Be There.

Honestly, I was appreciating every moment of the memorial up to this point. Then Lionel Ritchie came on with a beautiful rendition of Jesus Is Love. This brought on the wave of idiots.

Beginning with one of my friends' Facebook comments from someone stupid in their list of friends. Malas aku nak komen mana la, but this person posted, "I'm hurt watchin his funeral now..how could they???", which was an obvious reference to the song having religious connotations.

I just blew up.

Do you know what a memorial is? It's an event that serves as a remembrance of a person passed on. It's to celebrate the life of the person, to engage those memories of when they were alive, and accept it as a closure to their passing. Too many big words? Then turn off your f*cking TV or computer if you're watching online. What the...

Bodoh gila! Do your homework, b*tch!

Yes, we all know that he reportedly changed his name to Mikaeel after he converted.

But here's the thing. The Jackson family, like Michael throughout his life, has been very quiet about Michael's religious inclinations, and have not revealed what religious aspects from what religion or religions might be incorporated into either his private or public memorials.

So it is up to them. You don't f*cking know him, b*tch, and you're not f*cking family! So shut the f*ck up. It's a memorial. We're celebrating his life! Not b*tch about what songs are chosen to be sung. Apalah.... benda macam ni pon ada nak feeling nak debat bagai.

Panas betol. As a Michael Jackson fan, I disregard whatever religious connotations with the memorial, and aku tanak bincang pasal agama. I just want to remember a man who has been pivotal in music for the last five decades unlike anyone else.

So bodoh gila! If you're not a fan, don't watch just because the world is watching. Michael, preached about healing the world, and how we are the world. Not b*tch about my f*cking memorial because it didn't suit you.

Tenang sikit hati aku when Stevie Wonder performed Never Dreamed You'd Leave in Summer. By the time Jennifer Hudson came on with Will You Be There, aku da sebak balik da. It's an emotional rollercoaster watching this, knowing that finally Michael won't be hurt by anymore scrutiny of his life that no one understood.

John Mayer, did an instrumental Human Nature backed by the choir, followed by brother Jermaine Jackson with Smile, what Brooke Shields said was his favourite song.

The song was from the Charlie Chaplin film Modern Times, written as an instrumental by Chaplin himself in 1936, but Michael recorded a version of it on his 1995 album HIStory. For those interested, the song has also been covered before by Elvis Costello, Michael Bolton, Nat King Cole, Michael Bublé, Barbara Streisand and Josh Groban.

The lyrics were beautiful, and Jermaine did a version like Michael's which brought on more tears.

"That’s the time you must keep on trying. Smile, what’s the use of crying? You find that life is still worthwhile if you just smile.”

Menyayat hati sungguh.

Then came Usher's Gone Too Soon. When he walked down and touched the coffin... mmm... I don't know. The tears came again.

By this time, I was having another argument on Facebook. A 'friend' had changed her Facebook status to "thinks they're just overdoing the speeches at MJ memorial - yes, he's a great entertainer but he's not God.." I think this person just stayed up too late past her bedtime. No one mentioned him about being God. People were remembering the good things about him - which is like du-uh... what you do at a memorial.

Seriously so many people ignorant of what a memorial is. Argh!!! Ignorance is bliss - and stupidity is contagious.

She was reacting to Sheila Jackson Lee's speech. I personally liked it. She was eloquent (Sheila, not my ranting pissy friend). She stood up for Michael who no longer can defend himself. In retort to white supremacy, racist redneck Peter King's comments on Michael and how he was undeserving of such media attention over his death (still a WTF moment), Sheila said this.

"I can tell you as a member of the United States Congress, we understand law, and we know that people are innocent until proven otherwise, that is what the Constitution stands for."

Thank you Sheila. And thank you everyone who shared their memories of Michael who made us all feel just a little closer to him. Thank you Queen Latifah, Berry Gordy, Kobe Bryant, Magic Johnson, Brooke Shields, , the children of Martin Luther King and Kenny Ortega.

Reverend Al Sharpton came out with one of the best quotes of the night while addressing Michael's children. "Wasn't nothing strange about your daddy. It was strange what your daddy had to deal with."

I cooled down again when Shaheen Jafargholi came on with Who's Loving You. No one in America apparently has heard of the 12 year-old who came out seventh in Britain's Got Talent and apparently many were unaware that he was invited to perform because the boy was scheduled to be featured to perform with Michael in London.

Korang tengok persembahan dia. Damn.. this boy really has soul. By the way, He sang the same song during his audition of the talent show.

The finale was a group performance of everyone, led by Michael's backing singers singing We Are the World and Heal the World. More tears from me for sure. Kenny Ortega mentioned that the two songs, and how they were presented were intact as they were to be performed for the London This Is It show.

But the most moving moment, that made me break down, was the final word that night from a family member. Jermaine spoke, and after that was Marlon Jackson's moving speech on his brother, and how he asked Michael for a favour to hug his twin Brandon (who was a stillborn). Janet was supposed to speak next. but she seemed to think the spotlight deserved to at least one of the three who were supposed to speak up for Michael best.

And so, Paris Michael Katherine Jackson spoke. For the first time.

Sheltered like her brothers from the public eye all this while, this was the first time we got to hear at least one of Michael's children speak. She painfully shared only a few words. But everyone of them counted as she choked back tears before finally falling into Janet's arms.

She said this.

"I just want to say... ever since I was born, Daddy has been the best father you can ever imagine. And I just wanted to say I love him. So much!"

It just made me cry out.

People see Michael as a freak. A monster. A weirdo.

You can disregard the beauty of how much love he brought through his music. You can ignore the fact he inspired many generations, and more to come with his music and moves. You can disregard the barriers of race and religion he broke through with his success.

A lot have forgotten he was someone's son, brother... and yes, even loving father. You believe what you want to.

Michael is in a better place, and we the fans, got the closure we needed. As Marlon put it. Maybe now they'll leave you alone. We love you Michael. So much. Michael inspired us to come together. And now... it's as if the hope has died. But it lives... in his music. We just have to keep reminding ourselves that.

Need to rest now. Apart from the fact I have now gone 24 hours without sleep... am just so emotionally exhausted from this. It's a sad, sad time.

Rest in peace

Am watching with the rest of the world... as we all prepare to bid our farewell to Michael... the King of Pop.

To fans who join the mourning of millions across the world like me, these videos came up on Youtube.

Michael, I hope to God these are not true, and that your soul has finally found peace. Amen.

Check out the video of the CNN Larry King slot. Tell me who or what you see. I won't draw conclusions. But just hope Michael has finally found peace.

To lighten up the mood, here's something truly STUPID I found in the news related to Michael.

Soon after his death, a woman claiming to be Michael Jackson's wife demanded his body be returned to her .

Nona Jackson, who claims to have had 15 children with the late pop star, filed a 93 page claim to Jackson's estate.

She states in the claim: "All my husband's properties, monies and assets must be transferred to me immediately.

"My husband's body must be returned to the coroner's body or the mortuary immediately (sic)."

In another part of her claim, Nona stated: "Though he died to this earth, he lives with my father, Satan the Devil Khalid Lucifer."

A Los Angeles judge refused her request.

Last year, Nona filed for a restraining order against Michael's ex-wife Debbie Rowe, saying she made it hard to concentrate when she attended award shows with the star.

She also claimed to be the real mother of Jackson's three children, Prince Michael, 12, Paris, 11, and Prince Michael II, seven.

Nona - full name Nona Paris Lola Ankhesenamun Jackson - had previously made claims about Jackson in court in 2006 and again in 2007, although none had sufficient evidence to back them up.

Speaking last year, another judge said: "I feel her evidence fails to establish any genetic relationship."

Satan The Devil Khalid Lucifer????!!! What the fuck???!!! She must be friends with Peter King.

Anyway, Ian in Los Angeles, sorry dude, but I checked my email and this came in. I did no get the invite to the memorial to pass to you.

Good luck, man on figuring if you going to be out there for the memorial some way or another or not. Can anyone in the LA area, please, please pick up a This Is It tour t shirt that AEG will supposedly be selling? Please! The final thoughts of the King of Pop....

Later...

De mortuis nil nisi bonum

The Latin phrase de mortuis nil nisi bonum dicendum est, usually shortened to de mortuis nil nisi bonum or just nil nisi bonum which means "No one can speak ill of the dead," "Of the dead, speak no evil," or, more literally, "Let nothing be said of the dead but what is good."

Hasn't stopped this f*cking redneck lowlife New York congressman called Peter King, who lambasted the media for all the coverage on Michael Jackson. The Long Island Republican called Michael, "a lowlife", "a pervert", "a paedophile" and a "child molester" and said the King of Pop was undeserving of such attention as he was "a lowlife".

Yes, everyday heroes should be honoured. Teachers, firemen, soldiers...

But Michael has done more than what the loser Peter King will ever do! And forget just America - the King of Pop has touched and inspired the hearts of people all over the world. Allow us to mourn please... unlike what will take place when you finally expire - you second rate politician trash.

Only in America, could someone like Peter King be considering a Senate.

You would think firstly, he would respect the dead, secondly the family and loved ones of those in mourning and thirdly - the wounded hearts of people all across the globe. If nothing else, at least respect the memory of a man who has passed, who if nothing else, is a son, a brother, an uncle and many more things to those who have suffered a great loss.

Mr Peter King, the biggest dickwad on the face of planet Earth, will also serve to remember, even in America - innocent until proven guilty too stand - and as far as we remember, Michael of acquitted of charges, and investigations revealed most of the claims were extortion attempts, and the 'pay off' for the first case - was upon insistent of the insurance company, against the protests of Michael who wanted to go to court to fight out his innocence. Obviously Peter King has not paid attention to all the facts.

So Mr Peter King, here's a big hearty FUCK YOU from this side of the world, you pathetic, opportunistic, publicity seeking idiot.

PS - Debbie Rowe could do with a man like you.

Watch the asshole called Peter King's (a congressman no less) video

Long live the King of Pop!

As promised, Madonna kept her word for a tribute to Michael in her show for the Sticky & Sweet Tour at the London O2 Arena where Michael was to have performed.

It was simple. It was enough.

A fitting tribute from the Queen of Pop, to the late King of Pop. Icons in music like them will never come about again. Forget your Britney, Mileys, Rihanna, Akon, Usher or whatever teenybopper names you choose.

Madonna and Michael came from a generation of performers, did everything. They were true artistes, using their art as a form of self-expression. Not just money-spinners.

Not since the passing of the late Princess Diana, the Queen of Hearts, will the world see such bluebloods that reign in the hearts of so many around the world, and touch us with their stories, and provide us with the inspiration in 0ur daily lives.

Sedih betul tengok bahagian persembahan Madonna ni. Was waiting for it to be uploaded, and when it came out, was left speechless. One can only wonder what Madonna must have felt... and I can understand if she didn't want to make it more personal.

Beyonce, one of the 'new school' of stars who paid tribute to Michael, gave a more moving tribute. More perhaps for me, because Halo was my most overplayed song last couple of weeks for it's beautiful lyrics... and because Beyonce grew up in a generation where she was inspired by Michael as a lot of us were.

This was her from her performance during a concert in Atlanta as part of the I Am... tour on July 1. There are two versions of fan videos, check them out.

So whether or not Michael is going to be buried in a solid bronze, gold-plated coffin worth US$25,000 with a blue velvet interior and a hand-polished mirror finish is not important. How the memorial on Tuesday will pay tribute to the legend, the King of Pop will...

PS - If anyone is in LA, AEG has said they'll be selling the O2 Arena This Is It tour t shirts. Anyone can get me one for memories...?

One day in your life

Ok.. it's 4am and I still can't sleep. Won't... layan noya sambil Michael Jackson sings in the background. Yeap. I'm still in mourning. Walaopon malam tadik gi dua wedding, orang tanya je kenapa rambut aku da hitam balik (I dyed it back to black), aku kata gi kenduri arwah!

Ok so it's not funny. But then again, it was more fun to talk about Michael, and how great his music was. Seriously kan, I swear I think EVERYONE knows who Michael Jackson is around the world, no matter where you are.

Chatted with Vanessa and Vince about that masa wedding tadik pon. Anyhoo... divert jap since we're on the topic of Michael Jackson.

Came across this video. It's an old practise session recorded in 2007 of how 1,500 inmates of a Filipino prison in Cebu performed the Thriller dance. Word is they're performing the dance again, as a tribute to the family of the late King of Pop, which also includes Ben and We Are The World. Korang layan je video ni. Ni the original video which has been viewed more than 24 million times.

Ignore the rumours that these prisoners were forced to perform. Erm.. prison... remember? Anyway, yang pentingnya, whatever the motives or stories behind it, I think it's a good tribute to the King of Pop.

At least it's not this Indian version of Thriller(this is the original video by buffala on Youtube). Forget the local rip-off version kalao korang penah layan dalam bahasa Melayu nya. Tu ciplak haprak. Ni yang ori yang siap the 'translation' that made this video popular. Apapon, at least it proves a point. Anywhere in the world, Michael rules! Truly the King of Pop!

By the way.. we may not have the King of Pop anymore. But at least the Queen of Pop still lives on! Check this video out at 2:39 where a young Madonna performing Like A Virgin does Thriller!

Eh ok la.. panjang lak aku cita pasal Michael Jackson nih.

PS - Nak update pics Ad Samad dan Dangsuria nya wedding tadik, tapi lain lak jadiknya. Next entry!

Rest in Peace - The King of Pop and Charlie's Angel

Hail to the one and only King of Pop

By Thy resurrection from the dead, O Christ, death no longer hath dominion over those who die in holiness. So, we beseech Thee, give rest to Thy servants in Thy sanctuary and in Abraham's bosom. Grant it to those, who from Adam until now have adored Thee with purity, to our fathers and brothers, to our kinsmen and friends, to all men who have lived by faith and passed on their road to Thee, by a thousand ways, and in all conditions, and make them worthy of the heavenly kingdom.

Charlie's real angel

Am very sad... not to forget the late Farrah Fawcett, but the passing of Michael is something that has me in shock. Not since the death of Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopez of TLC have I felt like this.

Michael was the reason why I listened to music initially.

I remembered listening to the song Ben when I was in pre-school, a few years after the movie came out on freaking RTM. And when Michael evolved, I followed his career.

Leh ingat agik ayah akuke kedai video nak sewa horror movie. Me and my dad love good horrors. He picked up Thriller. Big mistake.. not for me though walaopon ayah aku sumpah ranah kenapa zombie tuh menari. Me... I loved it!

At the height of the child molestation scandal, I went all the way to Singapore, walaopon tahun exam nak tengok dia live. I cried when the show I went to was called off because he was suffering from extreme exhaustion. I couldn't stay sebab time tu SPM.

Few years later, he came to KL tapi aku tak dapat pergi sebab time tu baru start keja, duit nak gi konsert takde.

And now, he's gone. Am so sad... rest in peace Michael. I love you, and you will always be my idol, no matter what unkindness followed you through your life.

May God have mercy on your soul, and may you have a place in Heaven for the joy you gave so many through your God given talent.

Amen.

As for Farrah... I remember watching the original Charlie's Angels and loving her hair to bits. Ingat lagik zaman tuh bertimbun majalah mak aku, paling aku puji farrah Fawcett. She was an icon and the ultimate pin up.

Today really sucks... we're all dropping like flies. It's the end of the world...

Can't help it... listening to Man In The Mirror over and over again. So sad... can't stop tears...

Gone too soon...

And for all fans of Michael.. let's join together and mourn the passing of a real legend.

Freak!!!

Today was one of those days. Sing with me now.. "Just one of them days"....keep on singing while I plug my bleeding ears.

Apapun, siang siang sudah get an idea of where my day was heading. My noon meeting was called off an hour before, leaving me on the way to the city with nothing to do. Killed time by having lunch and window shopping as I had taken half the day off - sort of.

Anyhoo - my evening assignment lak was to check out the auditions for this competition called SUTASI. First heard it was a songwriting competition. Then apparently there's a singing side to it too. Not much info elsewhere, either they have lousy PR or something dodgy's going on.
So gi lah usha the second day of auditions, which was supposed to be for bands, because semalam alkisahnya untuk soloists.

Sampai PWTC, nampak the sign... after much searching. Mak aih... wat audition lima negara, pastu regional showdown, siap konon nak ngan other parts of Asia and all.. tapi audition kat bilik paling ujung nun jauh. Kicik jerk.

Ok ok...takpe...

That's not the half of it.

Masa aku finally jumpa that it was on the third floor... ni apa aku nampak.

Dah naik escalator, went all the way down to the hallway...mung hai!!! Ramainya yang muncul tuk ujibakat! Korang tak nampak ke? Tak baik korang... tu la namanya pencarian bakat orang bunian.

I think 'live' was definitely a wrong choice of words.
Masa tuh lum kul 3 petang, so since process tuh bermula 10 pagi kononnya, takkan lah dah habis?

Nak carik orang bertanya, mamat seorang ni confident mintak aku sign up. Merasalah! Ada ke look rock star aku nih? Takpe... bersangka baik. Enthusiastic lot ler meka ingat aku nak mai audition.

Note that not having any instruments or band members would have given the game away, but nope... they were too excited to notice that I suppose.

Tanya pasal nak cakap ngan orang sana nak interview pasal the competition, yang seriously cam tak cukup info. Tapi meka kata, meka pun tatau apa apa dan setakat 'contractor' ditugaskan untuk set up the thing jerk.

Pelik benar. Aku pun tunggu ler tuk orang yang meka kata mampu menjawab semua soalan aku. Demi kerja, dok sampai 5.30pm, which they said orang berkenaan would be back. Ado??? Nan ado katanya!

Aku dok sampai kol 6 petang, when a three piece outfit went in, and that was it.

Malas kalau da orang nak bagik publicity, meka sendiri tatau camna nak organise an event.

Pening.

Caught a promo poster of the auditions, which they've been hyping over Hitz, the official radio (or so they say, not sure cause I don't listen to ANY radio station for the crap selections of teeny bopper fodder and endless advertisments).

This is what it claimed.

WOW!!! Grand nya!!! Very the One In A Million! Hadiah one million dollars katanya! Erm.. .problem is, US dollars ke Bruneian dollars ke apa? Very vague. Korang check out website dia pun cam pelik sikit. Katanya annual event, tapi tak pernah dengar. Kalao setakat kali pertama tu, dan nak hold it again, agak agak ler sikit nak make claims.

Kalau tadik kat poster terbaca dia kata hadiah one million dollars, ni lak kat website kata peluang nak record with TOP producers, work with TOP songwriters (semua top takde yang bottom ke), global promotion (amik ko, worldwide katanya), a music video termasuk the prizes apart from the cash.

Erm...iyolah tuh. Peliknya kata later nak SMS pelbagai masa in the later stages, tapi, takde lak mention broadcast partner? Takkan kat Hitz kot?

Apapun, tak kuasa aku! Launch kat Bangkok kisahnya grand, dengan Thai rockers Hangman at the launch semua.

The point is - awareness level of SUTASI is as good as the hygiene of a rempit. Non existent. And still their own staff ignorant katanya of what's going on.

Made my way back through the rain, spotted this store along the way from PWTC. Cam familiar jer nama kedai nih.

Could it have something to do with this book I'm supposed to read tapi takleh stomach? Ampun Meor carut hasil tulisan ko.

Heh... jangan marah nok, aku gurau jerk.

By the time got home, beat as all hell, tak larat nak wat per pun. Dragged myself through the shower and popped into the lovely air-conditioned sanctuary of my room, to the backing music of John Legend, as I fired my laptop up to download the latest episode of Heroes to watch tomorrow.

Esok meeting yang tak jadik tadi will tak place. Selain tuh, got to send in some stories, and after that, I'm done for the day.

Been neglecting my Boo for a couple of days now because busy habis, so hopefully tomorrow night ada masa nak kuar ngan dia ngan kengkawan dia to lepak.

Honesltly, I feel like curling up in bed for the rest of the week with a good book (I have several unread ones), tapi tuh lah. I guess I'm really going to appreciate my holiday soon. I have a total of 49 days, half of which I have to clear by the year end, So that makes it almost a month off, including weekends! Amik ko! Cuti puas puas. Tapi nak tunggu bonus kuar dulu. Thinking of the beach somehow. A good tan... a good book... the sea... and just lazing away.

Aduh... sounds so good.

Tatau ler jadik ke tak, opting between that or an urban getaway. Supposed to visit Jakarta, but Bangkok is also in my list for some self-indulgent shopping post bonus.

Eh, by the way, someone was talking to me about the Justin Timberlake gig in Kuala Lumpur, and refered to him as the 'king of pop'.

Whatever happened to Michael Jackson? Dah pass crown ke? Wel, JT may be the king of pop to today's generation, but for me, Michael will always be king of pop, as Elvis will always be the king of rock and roll.

Speaking of Michael, ni a pic I had for the past week now. The latest, exclusive interview with Michael Jackson himself in Ebony magazine in conjunction with the 25th anniversary of Thriller (GOD I FEEL OLD!!!). Amik ko pic dia!!! Tak sabar tunggu member belikan this issue for me.

Also had this picture of one of the hottest Halloween masks yang baru lepas tak lama sudah. Is it scary enough for you? It's available online so look around... korang leh beli and freak someone out!

Won't be much use for it except for Halloween or when your mother in law comes to visit. But kalao ko shopaholic cam aku, and feel like you want to get something unique to add to your stash of useless stuff, CLICK HERE to get it! (if you do, leave me a note, send me some pics or better yet a video of you wearing it, while moonwalking next to a five year-old) The Wacko Jacko mask retails for US$29.99.

I bet it's as useful as 1 sen coins!

Speaking of which... came across this news report.

KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 13, 2007): From April 1 next year, bills will be rounded up to the nearest five sen in all over-the-counter payments made with either cash or non-cash modes. This is to speed up transactions and cut minting costs, it was announced today.
Effectively, a total bill amount that ends in one, two, six or seven sen will be rounded down while three, four, eight and nine sen will be rounded up to the nearest multiple of five sen.
Thus RM82.01 will be rounded down to RM82 and RM82.04 rounded up to RM82.05.
Domestic Trade & Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Mohd Shafie Apdal said this applies for payments made in cash or non-cash like cheques, credit cards or debit cards, but not for online transactions.
He, however, said the one-sen coin will continue to be legal tender.
Mohd Shafie said a rounding mechanism table with the ministry’s logo must be clearly displayed at the cashiers’ counter to ensure the public are well informed of the mechanism.
Although the mechanism will come into force only next year, retailers can start now, adding that it will benefit both businessmen and consumers as it will reduce handling costs and speed up transactions.
The ministry will check on the prices of 300,000 outlets daily to ensure the new mechanism is not abused.
Mohd Shafie said the government would also be able to save costs in producing the one-sen coins when demand for the coin drops.
"I was told that almost 99% of the one-sen coins produced by Bank Negara were not in circulation," he said.
Since 2000, out of 2.2 billion pieces of one-sen coin issued by Bank Negara, only 23 million or 1.1% had returned to circulation.
Earlier, Bank Negara assistant governor Datuk Mohd Nor Mashor said with the production of 30 million pieces monthly, Bank Negara had produced a total of 4.4 billion pieces of one-sen coin thus far.
He said the production cost had gone up considerably because copper price had gone up from US$1,500 (RM5,028) per tonne in 2002 to US$7,500 (RM10,057) per tonne this year.
"The government can save at least RM14 million a year in minting costs through this new mechanism," he said.
"We still want to maintain one-sen coins. But, hopefully the demand for one sen will reduce over time. Hopefully, by next year, there will be no demand for one sen."
Federation of Malaysia Consumers Association (FOMCA) director of communications Mohd Yusof Abdul Rahman believed the mechanism will be well-received by the public.
He said the rounding up will prevent businesses from confusing consumers with complicated price structures such as products sold with a 0.99 sen price tag.
And in case you are wondering, some scrap metal collectors are offering to buy one-sen coins at 95 sen per kg.

Looks like the price tags with 99 sen at the back are going to be changed. Bummer on the strategy of not having the appearance of a lower price. Ok lar...calling it a night.
