Anugerah Juara Lagu - predictions

The rehearsal for Anugerah Juara Lagu tadik itself was surprising. Why surprising? For the first time aku tengok stage cantik sikit, even though unusual and rather difficult nak have a stage like they did, which was a circular affair yang ada view 360 degrees... welll almost, cause kalao ko dok belakang bukan nampak apa sangat pun apart from montot orang. Heh... unless tu fetish ko, mesti nyesal dapat tiket dok sana.

But kesian sebab bayang stage camtuh nak set change to a band set-up for example memang kelam kabut. Very simple - but I like. Yang overdone the rest of the venue with broken mirrors ala disco ball... kalao korang gi Stadium Putra kang korang paham la. Screens everywhere!... good effort but... erm.. sometimes can come across as a little tacky.

Oh by the way... lari topik sikit jap.

Ni disclaimer sikit sapa gi Anugerah Juara Lagu malam ni - berjaga sikit mangkuk hayun yang keja security. Belagak nak mampos! Ni antara contoh spesis yang bangang.


Tuh yang atas tuh. Memula tahan aku, tanpa pas... aku tertinggal gituh. So explain. Masuk dressing room amik. Then aku berkeliaran lepak ngan kengkawan budak budak production, geng artis and jugak make-up artis dan designers yang semua menganyam ketupat sambil memerhatikan show.

Kali kedua aku nak masuk balik, dia tahan aku lagik. Mintak wrist band lak! Double security measures ler konon... ok ok... tak kisah. Silap aku tak pakai. So aku kata aku gi amik kat belakang la. Kan? Logical?

Well, akibat tanak belajar bersungguh masa kecik dan dok eja security of course la TAK PAHAM BAHASA! P****t ni tak bagik aku amik! Dia refuse entry. Erm.. ok. So aku kata na gi amik camna. Dia TOLAK AKU and then halau mintak gi mintak orang lain amikkan. WHAT THE F**K???!!!

Aku kalao orang kasar... aku tolak balik and just said, "Jangan kurang ajar... who the f**k do you think you are?"

Panas ma... tapi ngan capacity otaknya yang aku rasa about the same as his left shoe, I suppose dia tak paham. Moka toya jerk.

Thanks kengkawan TV3, I got the wristband on. Dia tak puas ati sangat tengok aku da lengap sgala yang perlu. Jeling jer. Masa aku na masuk, dia jeling bengis smacam... so I raised my hand, with the wristband on - and showed him the middle finger. Tak puas ati mai la.. mangkuk hayun. I know it was so juvenile of me to do that - but I guess orang camni tuh jer leh paham. So I had to stoop to that level.

If you were all that... you'd be stopping terrorists. Some people aiyo... inflated sense of duty katanya. Agak agak la kalao nak wat keja. Jangan sampai nak kurang ajar.Orang cakap bebaik, ni na wat perangai cam p*****k! The security company X-KOMANDO SECURITY nih memang bangang. Ada yang staff dia ok... ada yang cam perasan sangat. MATILAH KOOOOOO!!!!

Perot boncit gelebeh ada hati... heh... kalao camtuh...aku pun leh jadik(matilah carot sendiri). Tapi versi intelligent agik la. Unlike them, I can actually breathe without having to be told. Merasalah!

Dari last year da camtuh - though I didn't have a problem last year. Tapi aku dengar sampai boss besau TV3 sendiri sorang tak leh masu kena halau. Heh... stupid security. So pada adik adik yang baca ni,... belajar elok elok tau. Kalau tak kang esok besau panjang keja security camnih kena maki orang jerk sebab tak paham bahasa dan kurang ajar to try and validate your pathetic existence.

Takper la... sedih camna pon orang camni... keja dia nak bodoh kurang ajar tapi time keja lelebih lak nak tengok artis nak brgambar pose lelebih... heh... losers!
So apart from that spoiler of my mood, the rest of the night besh gak. Event camni as I always say seronok because kengkawan ramai.

So what are my predictions for malam esok? Erm... Ok ok.. a simple rundown jer. Aku pura-pura aku tak dengar la ek keputusan yang dibisik oleh Z (bukan nama sebenar) and pretend not to be aware of it and just make a prediction like everyone else is doing.

Ramalan : Samudera (Johan Nawawi/Ahmad Fedtri Yahya/Nora) akan muncul juara kategori. Why? Don't know;... but I think it is prety strong overall, and there's not much competition. Dirgahayu tak terkecuali dan ada harapan, but I think asihnya Balkis will be the outsider.

Untuk aku antara Mahakarya Cinta, Ceritera Cinta, Izinku Pergi atau Harapan. Kalau jury going for originality and freshness, I pretty like Mahakarya Cinta to win tapi kalao overall, Izinku Pergi is pretty strong.
So aku takkan pilih tu kategori nih... sebab Harapan pun ada possibility menang - for reasons I won't bother saying here. Ceritera Cinta melody besh, but erm... that's it.

But I think the best package comes from Estranged with Itu Kamu. At least I'm hoping la.

Juara Lagu : Pemenang kategori Balada akan muncul juara kot. Kalao Itu Kamu menang tuk Pop Rock, then ada harapan la. But it all really depends on who the judges are - dari sana baru leh wat ramalan sebab each person ada individual outlook berbeza and it's easier to predict if you know who they are and what they like.

Best Performance : Sebab smalam full dress rehearsal tak semua all out - aku tatau nak cakap. Lagikpun Datin Seri Siti Nurhaliza tak muncul at the rehearsals so no komen sebab she will probably be the one to watch. Tapi ni kan undi SMS? Korang undi ler bebetol ek.

Best Vocal Performance : Antara Siti again,and Jac for sure. Not discounting Aishah kalao dia peak performance. No one else nya.

Prediction ni aku da lama buat sebenarnya. Dan aku tak ubah walaopon dapat result bocor. Apapun - aku hanya leh katakan keputusan TAK MENGEJUTKAN. Oops!
Tak semestinya mengikut ramalan aku.. cuma TAK MENGEJUTKAN! Heh... I repeat... TAK MENGEJUTKAN.

Vicky Nikki?

Today was so relaxed! Well apart from having to drive in KL on a Friday after it rains. Which of course means chaos on the roads as usual. Horrible la that part. Honestly, if you guys have ever watched Falling Down,... that would be me, if I was equipped with any sort of weapon.

The traffic congestion just so gets to me.

Abih keja, singgah rumah Nikki for dinner. Boo and I had bungkus some food.
Has a laugh masa tuh cause tempat kita singgah area OUG nih, ada satu kedai Internet ni... well, just see the pic for yourselves and see if you spot anything yang pelik.


So it was not only inside out, it was also upside down. Creative marketing, or just a boo-boo from the part of the guys who actually fixed the signage?

You decide.

When we got to Nikki's place, we settled in watching this David Copperfield DVD I got.
Later Rizman and Wan arrived with Nikki punya baju for Anugerah Juara Lagu. Yeap, she's on, tapi guest slot for medley in the end.

Tapi puas gak... at least she gets to perform kan?
Despite tak pakai make-up ker haper, tengah fitting tuh, try ler nak amik shot. All I needed was a white wall. And result of that was the picture you see on the right. Ok tak?

Merasalah berangan photography tak jadik tapi tetap berangan feeling editorial light light.

Simple enough outfit but quite nice match up of glittery copper sequip pants with a top with puffed sleeved and pleats about the chest and propped up round collar.

Me likey.

A little retro ala Solid Gold, but nonetheless the look worked. Rizman kata their inspiration was Victoria Beckham. Not bad at all!

Anyway, pas abih everything, gi dating sat. Esok lusa takde masa lak, so baik ari nih jer dating with my Boo. No place special. Just some time jalan jalan to pick up some stuff and a late drink.
Shopping is something I can share with my Boo sebab dia takde la minat sangat ke apa aku punya obsession nih, but dia leh paham ok la.

Merasalah kalao dapat someone yang carot aku nya hobby yang gila nih nak shopaholic.
Ok ler guys, can't stay on long. Need my beauty sleep. Esok lak ada rehearsal Anugerah Juara Lagu kat Stadium Putra. The full dress rehearsal belah malam. So nak jenguk jenguk and just have fun.

Dugong

Today started pretty ok sebab cukup tido and all. Been retraining myself to get enough sleep, so not doing too many late nights as before. Susah wo nak reprogram your body after you so used to thinking that 2am isn't late and that sleeping when the sun is coming up is pretty normal - and you're not a freaking vampire.

Anyways, got up and sped to Hartamas for my assignment. Ada event Ikon. First time aku ke the venue in Bar Savanh at CoChine. Wow... me likey. Have always like the IndoChine feel and ambience, and this outlet was no different.

Love the decor!!! Especially the bar area with the aquarium theme. Even bilik air pon camtuh. You have to see it for yourselves. Can I have my future home done that way?

Dari pesen rambut straighten, iron dan sebagainya tuk meluruskan rambut, diperkenalkan mini Afro Khai! Pas abih and had a bite in Bar Savanh, hopped over to Gardens in MidValley. First time langkah sini. Love it! Nice, spacey, with some pretty interesting outlets. Tapi paling besh sebab baru agik, quite empty for now.



Destination - GSC baru kat sana. Tuk pelancaran novel dan soundtrack filem Duyung. Enjoy the pics jer ek... nothing much nak ulas, though had a fun time catching up. Nak wat video ngan Maya, tapi dia rushing appointment Loreal, so nanti jer ek.






Over and done with, rushed over to the office after an attempt to do some work in izzi. Got quite a bit of work done, and had a meeting that left me in a mood that was pretty foul. Yawn...oh well. Then got a little good news to cap it off.

Pretty rollrcoaster day of emotions. No biggie.

Whizzing about

Haven't fully recovered from my flu and slight fever, but can feel it getting there. The gross thing is the phlegm I have to deal with. Though if I come across someone I hate, I can probably blow out a bucketful of snot on them, which would be pretty cool... and worth a laugh, if I don't get grossed out over it myself.

Anyway, day started early today. By lunch, had meeting with sis and the guys from Fleischman as well as Audi on one of the projects I'm working on. Biasalah, nak cari makan memandangkan tak lama lagik, kemungkinan besar aku akan ubah arah kerjaya aku kan...

Discussion after discussion later, aku rush pick up Juan yang sakit kaki dan Danial tuk bersama ke PC Anugerah Bintang Popular Berita Harian.

So in the end, pas abih dinner, hantar dia ke Hospital Kuala Lumpur. Merasalah gout.

Dropped them off at emergency, then parked the car which was berbatu jauh. Cam sial jerk parking hospital nih. Dah la berbatu jauh, semua jalan one way lak. Signage azab nak mampuih!
As was walking to the car, Ayien and his wife drove past. So waited for them and we headed out.

Merasalah nak tunggu check up Juan, kena lecture pasai overdose seafood.

Mana taknya, start menjadi sebab gi makan seafood. And then masa kat Sabah lak, it was seafood all the way, lunch and dinner untu dua tiga hari... camna tak jadik camni.

Tapi apapon, lihat semangat kental kawan aku nih nak bekerja walaopon tengah time tunggu giliran. Ko ado? Sanggup meriba laptop nih nak abihkan story tau... bukan setakat nak amik MC dan lupakan tanggungjawab. Merasalah...

Kalau Juan pas nih kembali rajin updatekan blog dia kembali dari alam barzakh, wajib ler no competition ok tuk Blogger Gigih katanya.

Terlampau gigih sampai do kerusi roda pun sebab kaki sakit sangat da, masih mampu nak wat lawak feeling aksi Paralimpik tau... nak konsep mobile gerak sendiri. Aiyo... perlu ke nak wat ala gimnasti berirama???

Apapon, stay off the seafood Juan... and get well ok.

Jangan ingat nak jalan jerk... esok pon seb baik kebetulan cuti, so no worries there about rushing to and fro. You need rest la.

I fired up my laptop gak masa tunggu, ingat nak abihkan layan movie Superbad yang da dekat nak abih. Si Asyraf recommended it to me last month, and it is pretty funny. A no brainer kinda movie, but more teen oriented la.

Scanned tu wireless service, and this showed up.


Amik ko!!! Mentang-mentang kat HKL, dia punya wireless network pun nama canggih ok. Amik ko Vascular Network! Seb baik takder Artery Network ker haper. Tapi pas connect tetap takleh jalan. Line tetap lemau. Erm.. pretty much like the service here.

Oh well.. government hospitals. Ok... out fot the night. Eh...ada wat a little video of Anuar Zain for youtube pas jumpa dia tadi. Esok jerk aku upload ok.

Slusho med!

Today memang aku sick,... even the expression sick as a dog can't cut it. I don't know how many pills I been downing, but I'm starting to feel slightly better from it I suppose. Either that or it's a state of euphoria as a side effect of taking more than the prescribed dosage. Popped so many pills da aku rasa cam Whitney Houston lak...matilah!!!

Anyway, stayed in bed the whole day, bertemankan laptop jer. Did pop out for a while.... managed to get something to relieve my fever.

For Cloverfield fanatics, aku sure one look jer you guys would have found the item I'm talking about kan? Not sure yet?

Well... it was in Alias.


Then it appeared in Heroes when Elle was having a sip and the cast took shots with it off camera.


Then it appeared in the movie, Cloverfield, where it was attached to via the viral marketing where Jason was wearing a t shirt with the logo.


Of course, I'm talking about the supposedly non-existent Slusho! Found it today - and love it's Slurpee like qualities.



Where did I get it? Not telling for now. But I do know one other person at least who found it, after he got hit by the Cloverfield mania.

Nafi posted this in his myspace too after he came across it and took a quick shot of him havng a cold one masa aku kat Sabah (saja tau na bagik jeles...)

I know he got his in Shah Alam, and despite being sick and in need of a relief, I scouted about nearby my house (tak larat nak keluar jauh sebab demam) and found where to get a Slusho? Obviously then mine was somewhere in Klang.

So is our local 7-11 stocking up on Slusho!?

No comments, but if you're a Cloverfield fanatic and just want to get your hands on one just to taste what the whole thing's about...

Speaking of Cloverfield, I know a lot of people who enjoyed the movie. In fact - I haven't really come across someone who didn't like it. Until today.

I began hearing that some people walked out of the cinema sebab ta puas ati that either they didn't like the ending, they hated the camerawork, or they were just cheesed off they didn't get to see enough of the monster, or weren't given enough information about its origins or what happened to it.

Du-uh people!!! Get clued up.

The shaky movement are of course to add realism to the fact that the video was supposedly shot with a camcorder. Or did you miss that point? It was a first person survivor (well wrong choice of words, for those who have seen it) account of what happened.

Thus do no expect more on the monster than you anticipate. If you get the picture, it's a first person account, so you only know as much as the characters in the movie do... and not to mention that for me at least, it's a movie of three seperate relationships, surviving a crisis. The monster theme is just a backdrop.

Sheesh! Some people can be so literal. I mean, it's not like you had to do that much thinking.
Anyway, Cloverfield scored USD$41 million in its first week takings as it was announced today!!!! I knew it would be big.

Deja Vu!

Roller coaster tol my health. Ting tong aku. I think in the last 24 jam, da tiga papan Panadol dan Milidon aku telan, along with a bottle or two of Breacol. My cold has subsided, but kejap ada kejap takde gituh. Damn.

Packed up a little drowsily this morning. Bukan sebab ubat batuk. Tapi sebab tak cukup tidur.

Had fun semalam, bumping into people I knew, and some whom I just got to know masa clubbing. By the time got back in the hotel was about almost 5am.

Tak ngantuk... automatically bangun kol 9 pagik, tapi cam tak larat, half asleep even though didn't really feel so. Argh!

Fever coming on!

Had breakfast, and then ke airport. On the way, realised my phone got left at the hotel sebab call Juan masa breakfast mintak dia turun dari bilik, bak buku aku, which I left behind. Being sick makes me so forgetful.

Buzzed the hotel, and got them to send it to the airport. Seb baik....

Masa checked in, nampak akak sorang nih rambut vogue sangat. Tak penah nampak female ground crew yang rambut vogue camni.

Ni influence GI Jane ke Muallaf? Chemo ke adik adik dragon? Apapon, very the fashion statement!


Masa nak masuk, ada sense of deja vu ngan akak ganas nih yang ala bossy dan berangan. Oh well.. perasaan je kot.


And then it was on the plane, for a two and a half hour journey back to Kuala Lumpur. On the plane, semakin teruk fever aku. Sampai KLIA it peaked. Got back in one piece, and felt better almost immediately. Ni my last shot in Sabah of the runway gituh.



Slept since 5pm and just woke up... am going to sleep again. Feel better, but I thinka a little more sleep would make me feel better, Be blogging more tomorrow.

Ujibakat Akademi Fantasia - Day 2 Kota Kinabalu

Today was a nice, HOT, day! Love the weather in Kota Kinabalu, cause I'm not really feeling well. Had a graty like sore throat from Friday. Tapi hari nih rasa cam nak demam lak.

So the sun was good. Kalao leh rasa nak just lie by the beach, and get a tan. Bet that would make me feel better. Still, had work to do, and had to bounce down to Asia City, nak layan ujibakat Akademi Fantasia there, so... duty calls.


Passed one of the 'landmarks' of Sabah (for me). Yeap... the Milimewa. Rundown... but in every way, one of the few things that remind me of being here

So today, since been to so many ujibakat punya proses dah, looked about and saw more misses than hits. One thing for sure, audition kat Sabah membuktikan, the hopefuls had more substance than style compared to KL.Mungkin secara luaran meka tak grab the eye, but across the board, the sound better, which is understandable because Sabah is a hotbed for talent for sure.

But I really do wish they focused more on making themselves look better. Here are a few fashion faux pas I noticed, and I really do hope, kalao korang nak audition, don't do all this below ek.


Yes, no bra straps people! If you're already wearing a t shirt that says Cute Girl Princess, it's bad enough. Especially in girly pink. But to have it off shoulders and have creap brassiere straps pop out... not good!

Trying looking for transparent bra straps if you wanna still put this kind of top on.. please!



Yes, people, how you dress is important, because photographers are on the prowl always, and you hardly wanna look ugly for the camera kan? On most common mistakes, which I thought was ridiculous, was this.

People - no matter how well, or badly threy're dressed, wearing sandals or slippers!
Sandals I can deal with, but Japanese slippers yang nak ke jamban punya variety?

If you think I'm joking, here's more proof. Like this guy, berangan stylo tak hengat, mai berkepit ngan awek ala ala feel kuat nih.Sunglasses, overspiked and over-gelled receding hairline and thinning hair, and jacket with collar up (ughh!!!)... with tank top and a chain hanging down front.

Stylo... kononlah. But kira ok la... 10 for effort - and 2 for execution.

However - yang tak tahan tuh, it was ok... until ko scan lower, and yeap... he was one of the many wearing sandals with his get-up.

Well, alrighty then...


For the ladies, remember, I keep stressing on not too much make up? You can't see it too much in this pic, but being pasty and all overdone up with bedak tuh is wrong ek.

Remember, ladies, foundation and such should not be more than a shade or two off your actual skin tone, not your desired skin tone. There's a difference.




If having too much make up on is one problem, the duo kat atas tuh, had a problem with not having blotting paper.

Already da make-up berinci - pastuh peluh bagai, moka berminyak lak. Not the best look and I doubt that will ever be in vogue.

Moving on... I don't want to b***h too much about how to dress, but please if you have no butt - and probably look like a stick insect, then please observe the same rules of being a little bit too overweight and ignoring common sense and further enhancing your weaknesses.

Case in point, stick insect in pink below. Hugging jeans, and pink top with opening for non existent butt. Right!!!! That's a no-no for sure. Guy on right has too many shirts and t shirts on, while girl in stripes was ok except for that top - too many zebra wannabes roaming about today.


Pening lagik tengok some of the no-nos lives, so settled in for the auditions. The standards I think were slightly higher in Kota Kinabalu than in KL. Into the second day, on average most sang better, though sadly enough, I was disappointed because there was nothing outstanding (by the little I heard). Oh well.

Oh by the way, guys, went blonde already. Actually not my intention, tapi dalam process of colouring my hair blue. Erm... trying to see if I can get a different colour each month. But want to go platinum first, so this is part of the process. Not my desired colour, so don't b****h about it.

Wanna for the full platinum effect - as in keputihan, not the Anita Sarawak meets Rosnah Mat Aris ek!

For those yang curious - the Stage 2 auditions here were handled by Faradhiya and Ajai.

Stage 3 was by Liza from Maestro as well as Ida Nerina.
All, in all, while aku tengok part of a day's audition of the something like four days it's going on, aku a little disappointed. By the turn out, by the overall quality of the contestants in terms of packaging and actual talents.

Aku selalu expect Sabah to perform better - again sebab abundance of talent in this state. But this time - tak ramai yang bebetul bagus ada.

Hope the other two states in Sarawak and Johor, known for their quality vocals stepped up. Because kalao semua audition camni, we're going for a very mediocre year this time with everything hitting an average, from looks to personality, to actual talent.

So hung about and sat in a couple of dozens of auditions, before popped out for a ciggy, and then sat back in.

Bypassed the third stage, because most of them were zombie-like at best, and didn't need to be subjected to that. Ran about taking more pictures for the hey of it, before popping out on the balcony for a smoke - in the sun. Aah... that feels so good.

From my situation and yearning for the hot sun - I can tell, I'm going to be pretty sick.
I hardly demam punya, but when I do come down with something, it's usually horrendous.

So when Friday's sore throat worked its way to the queasy feeling today, aku da start popping Panadols (couldn't find Activfast in Sabah - do they sell it?), Milidon and along with bottles of cough syrup (a little hacking here and there)

Anyway, pas settle, popped down to a toy shop I noticed on the lower ground floor. Awesome collection for a small place. In fact, check out the lower pic... they had a small collection of MASK toys. Motherf**ker!!!!!

God! I am such a 80s cartoon geek!\

Oh my God! Aku excited gila babiks nampak the MASK collection. They also had Barracuda (from the Split Seconds set - the yellow bike behind Raven) as well as Iguana (behind Thunderhawk), tapi bila aku nak tanyakan, orang kedai tuh katakan only for display. Apparently the collection belongs to the shop owner.

Cam kesial jer... takyah la hias camtuh kalao tamau jual... very the mainkan perasaan!!!
Anyway, the Thunderhawk was priced at RM399... a good price for a 20 year old toy in near mint condition, but I got mine on ebay for less than RM100! With shipping and handling included ok!

So bugger...

Waited about, doing a little window shopping (little being the operative word, because nothing much in Asia City), until the gang came down for lunch.

Hey!!! Centre Point in across the road saja. Heh.. another truely Sabahan landmark!


Anyway, they bundled us all to this seafood restaurant (smalam dinner pun seafood - hope they have my fave in prawns again - Sabah is heaven when it comes to prawns! Well, seafood in general too)

Dunno the name of the eatery, but it was in town, very medan makan like.

The creative (or tacky) way to conceal, or 'interestingly' use a wall lamp in your art attack on the walls.

Wolfed down our food, then we trotted to do a little shopping. The gang headed to Philippines market. Aku malas sebab aku da banyak kali pegi... handicrafts and stuff don't ring my bell.

Neither do pearls and stuff, so followed the rest of the group to go to Warisan Square. The ladies were shopping for shoes and had to fight them to stop them buying wedges (shoes, not the KFC variety!) Seriously, wedges are the ugliest things ever created!!!

Popped over to Sinsurans Street awhile nak layan bundle, but pissed because meka lom set up the stalls, They only started when we were leaving, and since it was raining, I didn't bother.
Headed back to the hotel and got a little rest.

Malam lak, dinner kat Port View.

Wow... more seafood! HOLY SHIT!!!! Check out the selection siot!!!




Thankfully, the food was better than the decor of the room we were in. In fact, the restaurant was packed to the brim.

Not the best for decor - food was alright though.
