Don't exploit me, pleads tearful Mawi

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 11: "I am being exploited for the profit of others," said an emotional Asmawi Ani, 24, while lamenting the downside of his newfound fame and fortune.

Tears streamed down his cheeks as the Akademi Fantasia III champion talked about how his life has turned upside down.

Just last Saturday, the Johorean took home the richest prize in local reality TV history worth RM322,000. It comprised RM26,000 cash, an apartment, a Suzuki Swift 1.5L hatchback, a holiday package to London and Paris, a home theatre system, electrical appliances and three trophies.

Now barely into his first week as a star, Mawi, has discovered the ugly side of glamour. "They should be more respectful!

It's my life, my story!" he said lashing out at those who sought to make a quick buck from the public infatuation that has been labelled 'TsuMawi'.

Various merchandise from caps to keychains bearing his name, and image as well as his popular tagline of 'World!' have been the choice targets of 'pirates'.

The latest being a publication (not under the New Straits Times Press Sdn Bhd) sold at RM8 detailing every aspect of his pre-Akademi Fantasia life back in Felda Taib Andak, Kulai.

"If it's the official merchandise from the official fan club Mawi FC. I don't mind as they're just supporting my career.

"I am thankful for those who are sincere in supporting me. They're a non-profit outfit who serve to help bring my supporters closer by organising get-togethers.

"I know not everyone is like that, but many are out to make a quick profit, and that saddens me." Mawi, however did not threaten legal action against those who exploit his fame.

"I don't know how sincere they are in what they do. Only God knows, and I will accept it as calmly as I can," he said.

It has not been easy, however. The publication for instance, was noted for its many 'factual' errors.

"I realise I have so much to learn in handling the public exposure of my life. I was caught off guard. "I have no idea what causes people to react to me..." he said as he calmed down.

The front page stories on his private life have also exposed many 'untruths'.

And one of the hottest topics is of course the public obsession with his fiancee.

"My fiancee is okay with things and has kind of come to terms with the attention. We have agreed that we should accept things as they are fated."

He however shrugged off details of their respective families.

"As for when the wedding will be, I don't want to rush it, and I know a lot of people would prefer that I focus on my career for the moment.

"I spoke to my fiance just last night, and she's been crying, and her mother has been crying.

"The pressure is getting to everyone, and the only thing we can do is take things one day at a time."

While he has no regrets over his instant fame, Mawi nodded his head in agreement when asked that had he the option of doing something else, would he?

"I entered Akademi Fantasia to help better the life of my family, and if I could have done something else to support my parents, I would have done it."

Mawi menitis air mata?

Mmm.. kalau baca topik ni cam tak caya kan?

Tapi tu hakikatnya. Siang tadi, mula-mula aku panas bad mood sebab memacam tak kena ngan interview dan photography session tuk keempat finalist.

Tapi masa first interview - ngan Mawi - sebak lak tengok dia nangis meraung nasib dia.

Sebab dok kena eksploitasi ngan memacam barangan di hasilkan pakai nama dia...sebab memacam fitnah ditabur kat kuarga dia...takyah lah aku nak in depth.

But the bottomline is...keji ler keja ko kalau ko jenis orang yang nak cetak baju, topi dan sebagainya merchandise nak cari makan pakai nama orang tu...sama gak kalau ko jenis bangsa nabur fitnah pasai kuarga budak tu....

Pepandai ler pikir sendiri ler...kang orang kata aku ni jadik pro-Mawi lak. Apapun, aku salute sebab Mawi masih ingat diri dia. Lagipun, aku dan Juan Danza ler yang rapat ngan dia dan Marsha masa meka terkeluar Konsert Prelude dulu...me more to Marsha....

Tapi time tu orang tak pandang pun...sapa Mawi...sapa Marsha...cepatnya hati orang berubah ngan jadiknya popular. It's amazing how fame and fortune can change things...




Anyway....had a good photo shoot gak in the sense that dapat lepak meka berempat sat. Sebab rindu ngan meka nya pasal.

Dan ni ada pic ngarut sikit time Mawi dan Felix tengah tukar baju. Saja nak sakat Felix aku amik pic ni bagi dia panic. They were in between changing for a different wardrobe shoot. Amik ko!



Moving on...sebab letak pics ala ala naya Felix...ni nak tambah sikit gambar-gambar dia. Jangan marah, Felix. Kalau sebelum ni pics Mawi lak banyak, ni giliran Felix lak.

Esok lusa, giliran Amylea dan Marsha lak...leh?





Anyway nak recap sikit...semalam sebenarnya tak ada masa posting sebab gi MidValley sekali ngan member bloggers Juan Danza dan Sultan Muzaffar. Sampai sana lak terserempak Rosman Positivo dan kengkawan dia yang tak aku kenal.

Mula-mula gi sana sebab ada meet the fans session tuk Dian Sastrowardoyo dan Rizky Hanggono.

Aku gi pun sebab lama tak jumpa Dian...last met her was a couple of years ago when she was down here with Nicholas Saputra. Sebab suka prangai dia easy going and all - saja nak jumpa...jadi racun ler Juan nak ikut.

Last-last jumpa SM in MidValley and we bought tickets ler. To cut a long story short, interview dia and all (and dia tetap kata dia ingat aku - cam yer je walaupun tak jumpa dua tahun or so).
After that we settled for the butt-numbing two hours plus of Ungu Violet. Kesimpulannya? Quite a good premise for the movie. Sayang....editing and screenplay self-indulgent sikit lacking in any storytelling skills. So jadi lengthy and a little boring ler.

But apapun, it was still a pretty good movie. Dapat ler reach for those Premiers in one or two scenes walaupun cliche.

And last call, sorry ler pada meka yang tunggu aku nak wat review Sunday Nite Live Zahid and Friends last Sunday tu. Bukan apa tapi malas ler nak panjang-panjang review dalam kesibukan teramat ni.

Lagipun, memang teramat kecewa ngan showcase yang bagaikan promosi album lak. Mana tak nya. Dari 17 lagu yang dibawa malam tu, at least half a dozen pakai minus one. Adus...tak penah tengok live set camtuh.

Tapi memang performance Zahid ok ler. Farah menjerit sana sini, Adam looked out of place, while Nana looked comfortable.

Still - it was not much to shout about dan cuma dua tiga lagu je smangat orang nak tepuk and such.

Rasanya, ramai malam tu yang kunjung pun peminat Akademi Fantasia.

So...kalau sesapa nak give it a go, be sure it's going to be a fun event this 21hb sebab rasanya bebudak Akademi Fantasia III akan turun memeriahkan sekali malam tu...but takder confirmation ler.

How good it's going to be if left to be seen.

Mawi?

Hari ni memang lesu semacam.

Been so stressed out with work the past week...today...everything just took its toll.

Tambah agik ada stress keja memacam.

Dahler pas final tak tidur-tidur terus sambung keja. Belah malam lak gi Planet Hollywood nak tengok show Zahid & Friends tuk Sunday Nite Live yang last-last jadik show syiok sendiri Sham Kamikaze, cam gak final Akademi Fantasia malam sebelum.

Kali pertama aku tengok 'live' show pakai minus one for almost half the show.

Takpe...besok aku review kat sini skali...

Anyways...ni sebenarnya tak larat nak posting...tapi ni ada pics baru diterima dari Hawa, member di era.fm. Nak kongsi korang semua...ni masa Mawi diinterview Linda siang tadi on-air.

It's over...

So...apa nak dikata...

Semua dah tau keputusan kan?

Yeap - Mawi menang with 58%, Felix kedua with 30%, Amylea ketiga with 8% and Marsha with 4%.

Kalau ikutkan - aku seronok with all their performances, though ada ler tak puas hati sana sini.

But as I said, the final was not really a final for me as the placing memang tak penting bagi aku.

But I have to admit, dari segi jumlah undian Amylea dan Marsha, aku terkilan sedikit sebab undian tidak menunjukkan atau mengambarkan kebolehan ataupun kualiti persembahan mereka.

But...bukan dengki pada sesiapa...Mawi's success is his...

Aku akan posting full stats pasal bab undian dan analisis undian later.

Too tired sebab kena rush story.

Lepas habis konsert, ad alak press conference. Pastu lepak sat tima meka wat rakaman Imbasan Akademi Fantasia.

After finish that - lepak dengan finalists for a while sampai 4 lebih pagi.

Pergh...letih siot.

Balik sat mandi sebab rumah dekat ngan Shah Alam....then it's back to office at work.

Ni banyak lak nak habiskan lagi. So while I would love to update my blog with more stories of the final, as well as the radio.blog and stuff...tak larat sih!

Apapun - bagi peminat bekas pelajar-pelajar Akademi Fantasia, just to let you know, 14 bekas pelajarserta 6 tersingkir akan check-in bungalows Akademi Fantasia untuk dua ari mulai ari ni.

Kind of nostalgic time off for them to spend time together with their families or something.

Satu benda aku nak mention yang kurang enak (tapi syukur tak terjadi apa-apa) ialah orang kampung Mawi yang bak banner 100 kaki ke dalam stadium. Terpegun gak ngan banner meka...respect ler katakan!

Just it was disturbing to see that meka naikkan banner secara kurang elok ngan makan tempat banner-banner peminat-peminat Felix yang dah berkampung kat sana awal-awal.

Aku rasa benda tu was very rude...but aku salute peminat Felix yang dok diam je...malas nak tegur.

Pada mamat-mamat yang bak banner tu...I think that was not a nice thing to do...and tak perlu ler dalam keghairahan menyokong tu sampai nak menyakitkan hati orang.

Yomeishu!

This is a little update on my girl, Nikki.

I hate to say she's formerly of Malaysian Idol.

Tapi apapun - she's now with Ning & Associates. For those of you who are waiting for her album (sapa yang tak...ko test power dulu, she's fantastic!!!)...here's the latest info.

The executive producer of the album is Ning Baizura.

Familiar names involved in Nikki's album, in alphabetical order, include: Audi Mok, Azlan Abu Hassan, Arthur Kam, Fauzi Marzuki, Genervie Kam, Hazami, Jamie Wilson, JFK, Little Z, Omar, Sharon Paul dan ramai lagik. Will update more on what's happening with the album as it happens.

So far aku da dengar finished product (yang lum mastered ler) and it's f*****g fantastic! Possibly one of the best debut albums EVER!

Aku tatau exactly when the release will be, but album expected, hopefully dalam sebulan dua ni.

On another tip - aku tau cita aku kat The Malay Mail mengenai tangisan Mawi tu banyak mendapat perhatian dari Mawi FC, tak kisah aa dot net ke dot com sebab aku pun baca forum keduanya.

Ni mari aku clarify kan. Suratkhabar lain tak sempat carry story tu sebab meka tup pages (kira tup kedai tuk malam tu) awal. Deadline aku tuk offstone (paper nak hantar dicetak) kul 4 pagik.

So aku sempat. Tambah agik, sebenarnya, sebagai seseorang yang tau cita Mawi sebenarnya - tu laa cara aku nak tolong. Aku nak highlightkan benda tu sebab aku rasa sendiri tindakan Diana tu..ehm...no komen lah. Baca buku tu sendiri pun da paham lah.

Cuma aku kasihan Mawi sangat. Memang dia menitis air mata, tapi dia control gak..bukan nangis abih. Aku dok berdepan ngan dia masa tu, aku perasan ler. Dia kan tekan-tekan biji mata dia tu nak tahan. Mata pun da merah...sebak je ngan pertanyaan aku.

Tu yang kalau pada meka yang ada kat sana...akan perasan abang Aman dan Freddie sendiri banyak jawab bagi pihak dia mengenai isu tu. Aku tanak komen lebih sebab aku tau tu antara Mawi dan Ina nak settlekan...tapi kan...kalau semua orang dah eksploitasi (termasuk ler orang yang nak wat duit sibuk ngan cita cinta orang), tu leh lagik aku maafkan - dari orang yang sepatutnya menjadi tulang belakang mangsa eksploitasi tu.

Ni ada benda aku nak cakap. Pada mangkuk jamban yang terasa penghinaan aku wat perangai cam lembu terlepas kandang ketika gathering Mawi FC aritu...ketika Malam Seribu Kenangan Bersama Mawi, aku nak cakap sikit!

Berapa kali announcement dibuat pihak penganjur tuk control the situation.
Kalau da tak paham bahasa, lebih sesuai gi panggil lembu je!

Kalau da terasa sangat...RM80 ko tu takleh bagik ko peluang nak kurang ajar kat majlis orang...f**k off ler.

Back to more interesting things...letih sebenarnya nak update cause I've been feeling a little tired.

Entah...kena pekena Yomeishu kot.

Ni akibat sakit mata punya pasal dari Jumaat tu...plus the hectic list of events yang tetiba menyerang ler ni sampai aku tidur pun paling kuat sejam sehari je.

Sampai masa lepas gathering Mawi FC tu, esoknya (semalam ler) si Mawi masa wat benda alah penyerahan kereta kat DRB-HICOM pun signal tanya aku, cukup tidur ke tak.

Not like he doesn't know the answer...memandangkan mata dia pun swollen abih.

Dahlah patutnya 12pm event tu...aku sampai pun dah nak 1.30pm! Bangun lambat ler...mula-mula tanak tidur nak gi event tu terus. Kul 11 pagi dah tak tahan...amik ko!!!

Sampai-sampai blur semacam...mereka tengah perform. Masa tu kira top five termasuk Yazer menghadirkan diri, sekali ngan Akma pun ada suddenly.

Aku tak layan sangat performance meka...sempat ler sembang carut-mencarut ngan member press yang lain.
Sultan Muzaffar dan si elkapitan (Kepitan the stesen Jelatek) pun ada sekali. Si Juan lak nowhere to be detected!!! Tidur mati ler tuh...sedangkan janji nak jumpa sana sekali! Hampeh!

Aku tengok...seperti biasa la...mana ada Mawi...ada laa peminat yang agak overdose (tak puas ati lak ada yang terasa tu kena di panggil lembu terlepas kandang).

But the crowd was pretty under control so I guess it wasn't too bad. But images of 40 year-old makciks in tudungs running and pushing each other in a jostling competition nak amik pics of Mawi are pretty disturbing images for anyone, I'll tell you that!!!

Pastu PC ler sikit...and all. Aku malas dok lama, the whole gang press and friends semua ke next venue, iaitu Pan Pacific Glenmarie yang kat belakang je DRB HICOM tuk penyerahan cek pemenang pemenang Akademi Fantasia.

Dok sampai, ngan tak makan sejak pagi, aku pun lantak ler finger food yang ada walaupun majlis lum start! Memang tak senonoh...tapi pastu semua ikut lak. Sebelum tu semua buat je segan...

Dah bebudak Akademi Fantasia sampai termasuk Kefli, function lak takleh start...primadona tak sampai ler katakan..biasa laa orang Kuala Lipis kena grand entrance katakan.

Nothing much to say about the event.

Meka nyanyi sikit...but kali ni more relaxed ler...cam bersantai sebab function closed, bukan pesta fun fair. Yang ada kat dalam bilik pun berapa puluh oang je...so tak tension ler naik pening orang lari sana sini ala ala main rugby nak dapatkan gambar dan autograph.

After abih event tu yang besh. Lepak ngan Mawi sat...pastu sok sek ngan Felix lak. Yazer dok sembang so takpe ler...anytime leh jumpa.
Si Kefli kemudian join aku dan si Sultan Muzaffar dan elkapitan (naik gedik ngan Marsha tuh) layan Akma, Amylea and of course, my baby girl, Marsha.

Ok aaa...pastu balik opis lak..ya ampun, lethargic gila! On the way si Sultan Muzaffar ngadu tertinggal notebook (saja jer ler nak pasang umpan dan malas update blog).

Aku dok balik wat news story...pastu tertidur terhantuk pala kat PC akibat keletihan teramats!
Sedar-sedar da nak tengah malam. Tunggu dua jam tuk Juan muncul pastu gi makan kat Kampung Baru. Pastu balik KO sampai tengahari siot!!!

Anyways, pasal komen bebudak kuarga Fantasia mabuk an sebagainya...camni je laa aku leh komen.

Setakat ni, lum ada nama-nama tersebut kena botol depan aku atau wat tak senonoh. Walaupun bermacam cerita, dan aku tau setakat mana kebenarannya, aku mintak semua bak bertenang ler. Selagi lum nampak depan bijik mata sendiri (atas dasar laporan orang...) takyah la.

Besides..fans will be fans..and people can always say what they like.

Bukan aku nak kata meka semua baik, tapi lak melampau fanatik sampai setiap gerak geri mereka dipertikai. Kalau nak tau camtuh...ada yang memang perangai cam p*****k pun ada, cuma aku rasa tak perlu dikongsi secara terbuka. Peminat sendiri leh nilaikan sama plastik dan palsu..dan HIPOKRIT!

Yang aku pentingkan their public approach. So as long as tak terbukti pe-pe...love them for their talent (kecuali kalau poyo punya perasan).

Orang suka nak cita pasal couple antara budak kuarga Fantasia, but hey...meka ada hak gak kalau nak bercinta kan? Cuma selagi meka pandai jaga diri, tak terover...it's ok. Banyak lagi cita yang sampai pangkat menyundal punya perangai lum terdedah yang agik teruk!

So be wary...berjaga-jaga jer lah apa motif orang nak cita kan pasal keburukan budak-budak ni.

Ok...less than 24 hours to go!

The tension mounts!

Not for me really...esok aku nak gi Stadium Malawati to enjoy je. Kan da kata...siapa menang tak penting, kerana keempat-empat mereka dahpun juara ngan layak ke final.

Aku tak paham tul ada fanatik panik kerana pilihan mereka tak nombor satu ke dikatakan jatuh dalam ranking ke...sibuk-sibuk nak SMS...wei duit dapur bini bagi dulu wei! Makcik...susu anak tu dah cukup ke?

Tahap sekarang, keempat mereka dah TERJAMIN akan menpunyai pendapatan LEBIH daripada ALL of you for the next 12 months!

Bak kata aku pada seorang fanatik...

Kalau si polan ni tak menang ruimah dan keta pun...so what? Dengan pendapatan dia pun - empat bulan da leh beli sendiri. So ada beza ke?

Sheesh! Fanatics!

Anyway - speaking of fanaticism - ni aku ada dapat email. Comparison Mawi dan Ayah Pin.



So ketara ke persamaan dia ke...(Tergelak sat!)

Anyway...ni pics aku dapat on their last week in the Akademi...I'm going to miss them...oh wait a minute...not really...cause I dah lama boycott Diari dan Xtra.

Apapun...walaupun aku sokong keempat-empat...Marsha is still my favourite....simply because she is a beautiful person...in and out. The rest are cool too...but I just support Marsha more.

Whether she ends up last in the placing...or whatever...it doesn't really matter.

Jangan nak gila babas sampai nyesal lak abih duit. Lagipun...baru berapa haribulan. Ingat-ingat lah sikit ek... Happy AFUNDI-ing.

KUALA LUMPUR , August 4: One thing for sure. Akademi Fantasia fans are a passionate lot. The recent decision by show producers Astro not to reveal the percentage of votes of the final four students only added fuel to the fire for conspiracy theories.

Just a simple surf of Akademi Fantasia-related sites and forums revealed a certain perception that the results and direction of the popular reality show has been manipulated since the beginning.

One of the interesting comments that might sum up the whole show came from Cari.com.my forum member SyD: "You think this is all coincidence? I think not. Malaysian TV stations still are not brave enough to let their reality programmes have a life of its own. They are still dependent on script and deliberate video editing."

Most comments on the Internet forums, however, were about ringgit and sen. They believe that Astro is trying to squeeze as much money as possible from viewers and staunch followers of Akademi Fantasia.

Every time a 'controversy' develops, comments will pour into Astro@15 channel via SMS — which is certainly a profit-generating venture.

CONSPIRACY THEORIES
On the recent decision not to reveal the percentage of votes of the final four students: "Since the Conspiracy to oust Mawi during the ninth concert was foiled, is this Astro's last move, if not, the safest move to stop Mawi from winning? I can't wait for the final result." — Alovera posted on Cari.com.my

"I don't think it's a conspiracy. It's more like a strategy to ensure that active voters would send in more votes. The more votes sent, the more money Astro makes." — Babybueno posted on Cari.com.my

"Astro is treating Akademi Fantasia like a game and not a competition. The students are treated like video game characters." — defeduck posted on cari.com.my

On the alleged conspiracy by Astro against popular contestant Asmawi Ani (Mawi)

"Based on how Mawi has been leading the pack since day one, it's pretty obvious who's going to be the winner. To spice things up and to ensure that it's going to be a fair competition, hence the conspiracy." — SyD posted on cari.com.my.

Apart from the 'conspiracy', we also came across some other interesting discussions related to Akademi Fantasia 3 contestants, instructors, critics during the weekly concerts and the overall flow of the programme. Below are some interesting observations. For details, visit Cari.com.my.

Ni petikan berita sikit tuk clarification dari Astro mengenai penyembunyian Afundi Terkini.
Aku rasa tak perlu pertikaikan ler meka nak sembunyikan ke apa ke.

Bukan lebih suspen pun...

Sampai skang pun cam da tau je kan...siapa yang menang...

Anyway - seperti aku da katakan...it just doesn't matter who wins now.

Sesiapa nak bazir duit nak AFUNDI sesapa meka suka, go ahead.

For me, Akademi Fantasia is over - and kali ni ada empat pemenang...bukan seorang.

Musim ni tuk aku lain dari musim pertama dan kedua. Because there is no deserving all out winner like Vince and Zahid.

Bukan merendahkan kemampuan Mawi - tapi populariti tak semestinya menggambarkan kredibiliti.

And aku akui ikutan Mawi memang satu fenomena.

But remember that doesn't necessarily equate it with outstanding ability.

Apapun - Sabtu ni tuk aku, adalah a party night simply to celebrate the for outlasting the 16 others.

Ok ler, nak abih keja ni. Smalam gi tengok Seven Swords terasa lak nak potong rambut.

Bak kata adik aku, biar imej baru tuk final Akademi Fantasia nanti...camler orang prasan pun rambut aku.

KUALA LUMPUR : "There is no part of the voting process that is not transparent!" Astro programme director Zainir Aminullah told The Malay Mail today that the reason for the station in deciding not to reveal the real-time results of the public poll for the reality TV talent search was to allow heightened suspense to take over come the finale.
"We are not going to address speculation which have arisen over the decision, and we will offer a very straightforward response to questions raised. "There is no part of the voting process that is not transparent," he insists .
Zainir elaborated that their appointed auditors would ensure that. "Our auditors, Price Waterhouse-Coopers (PWC) are taking care of the entire process throughout, until the moment the results are out.
"The rationale behind it is simply to make it more fun and more intriguing to participate in the finals with an element of suspense, not knowing what their standings are at any point in time before the results are officially announced at the end of it all."
He said that since the competition has now taken a twist with only four in the finals after a second round of double elimination last Saturday night's concert, the secrecy over the standings was an added element of surprise to this season's programme.
"The issue of transparency will not only not come into play as we will share the results. We will confirm the view of the masses of a foregone conclusion. And that's part of the attraction. That's what ensures the show at its best that always promises something fresh with the format every time around."
After the announcement by Akademi Fantasia host Aznil Nawawi during the post-concert programme, Imbasan Akademi Fantasia on Saturday, the public has lashed out with claims ranging from allegations of the wildest of conspiracy theories to accusations of Astro attempting to make more profits by inducing panic among fans to spend by not allowing them access to the vote standings.
"We will not respond to speculation or allegations," was Zainir's curt comment.
Meanwhile, on the new addition of the Anugerah Vokal Terbaik, he insisted that the award would be a result of a public poll in the spirit of Akademi Fantasia where viewers have their say. This, he said despite many disputing that the award should be for the most popular vocal, since it was a result of a public poll, and not best vocals since a professional jury did not have a say.
"For Akademi Fantasia, the viewers, the fans are the best in deciding what they want, so we stand by the public polling."
On the venue of the final at the weekly home for Akademi Fantasia III in Stadium Malawati, Zainir said the location of the stage for the final had been set, "a long time ago."
He shrugged off complaints over the sold-out status of tickets, and claims that the seating capacity was insufficient compared to the finals last year which were held at Stadium Putra in Bukit Jalil. Tickets were snapped up within hours of release of sales, leaving many disappointed. "It was a question of planning and logistics. Besides, it's not too small. The stadium offers a 6,000 seating capacity for the final, and we think that's big enough."

So Yazer was as nice as Fuad said he was. Which raises the question... why don't I get the vibes from the kids off the camera, in comparison to when they're still in the Akademi?

Aku bebetul rasa musim ni, everyone - bukan plastic - cuma cam cautious sangat sampai they don't dare to be themselves.

Kefli was ok, tapi still takut-takut. Kena soalan panas, nampak sangat muka dia berubah... he's just got to let go and be himself. But I suppose that should be general advice to all the Akademi Fantasia kids in general.

Oh and by the way - untuk peminat Kefli - dia menafikan ek dia da tunang (sama cam Mawi dan Ekin). Do we believe him? Pepandai ler....

Aku malas sikit nak mintak meka sign notes sebab leceh nak meng'scan'kan sebenarnya. Da agak masa kurang sikit. Rasa lesu semacam...tak cukup tidur punya kes ni.



Ni nak wat tribute sikit! Bawah ni gambar kak Norizan dari Astro. Dia ni peminat nombor satu fanatik gila babas Yazer. Kuciwa sungguh dia Yazer keluar (tapi sebenarnya bahagiakan kak Izan sebab dapat jumpa Yazer cepat sikit!) Kak Norizan ni la Nazra sebenar...

Aku sempat amik dua pics je. Satu ngan Fuad dan satu ngan si Zahid sebab lama tak bergemabar ngan meka.

Nak amik pic ngan Idayu dan Linda tapi dok je mengumpat nak catch up. So tak sempat nak amik pics ke apa-apa.

Tu pun pic ngan Fuad kena delete dari phone aku entah ngan sapa, tinggal ngan Zahid je. Tapi kelakar lak tengok. Whatever is said...Zahid is still adik nombor satu aku!

Recharge!

Adus! Today has been such a meletihkan day. Ni baru sempat online.

Early Sunday morning - dah gerak ke Desa Waterpark lepas update blog and all. Tak sempat tidur. Sampai sana, Zahid dan Mas da wat show. Linda pun ada sekali apart from adik-adik Akademi Fantasia III.

Tapi kan...aku sedih tiba-tiba masa jumpa Zahid, Linda dan Mas. Sebab baru masa tu aku sedar, keakraban kami sebagai adik-beradik, tak wujud dalam Akademi Fantasia musim ni.
It appears to be every man for himself or herself now. Entahlah...maybe they'll change...but somehow - season two is the best for me!

Anyways - sampai sana lepak wat lawak bodoh je hiburkan diri - tapi sampai pas lunchtime da tak tahan, aku crash! Tidur siot dalam bilik persalinan!

Apapun - bila bangun, ended the whole thing da - it was a good remainder of the day.

Mana taknya - someone gave me the best birthday gift I've received for my birthday (and the only real gift I've gotten this year since everyone sibuk sangat, ramai teman-teman rapat tak ada di sini masa birthday aku - thank you you sweet, sweet person!)

Then - sibuk main air ngan Azlif, Haider, Elliza (kuarga dia ada skali), Reza and Juan Danza.

Mula-mula tanak sebab tak bak baju extra, tapi selepas kena pujuk bebudak tu, aku pun ngalah gi beli baju dan seluar tuk berendam skali.

Baru main water slide dua kali dan nak berendam je, water park dah nak tutup! Sial jek!
Abih tu later - got some whoopie! The third for this month. (Pathetic ler score aku skang)

Ni nak update sebelum balik tidur sebab esok press conference ngan Yazer dan Kefli (Horror tul!)

Anyway - nak share one thing.

Aku tau ramai orang kecoh pasal AFUNDI Terkini yang skang kena block tu. Well, stakat aku tau, Astro mengatakan tu dibuat tuk bagik suspen peminat supaya tiada sesiapa tau apa kedudukan.

Tapi meka tetap mngatakan AFUNDI di audit oleh pihak yang bertauliah, so memang tak ada konspirasi ke apa. Nanti apa-apa update aku korekkan ek.

Ok le nak tidur...

But for those with a warped sense of humour, ni ada something silly smalam courtesy of my friend Ted.

Ada member sorang ni tayang ler pakwe dia yang baru masa kita berjumpa sat lepak minum lepas Konsert - ala ala gym fit, badan berketul. Dada size cup triple C punya laa muscle dia.

Anyways, Ted stared at his chest...before he went into his Queer As Folk mood and asked , "Are those implants?"

Kita semua pecah perut la, apa lagi. Mamat tu blur abih! Talk about being clueless!

Then knowing Ted, dia followed up agik taking another jibe at the guy's muscular chest saying,

"Did God like, misplace your butt?"

If that wasn't enough, he closed with, "Well, at least it's easier to wash up, I must say."

At this point mamat tu finally got it that he was the butt (no pun intended) of the joke and started bursting out laughing.

"Well...I'd advice you against using public toilets..."

Adus....Ted ni lawak dia bangang kekadang tapi pecah gak perut layan.

For those who don't understand it....too bad.

THE BEST! Thank you Malaysia!

Dah terbukti! Satu Malaya akhirnya mengiktirafkan the best four in Akademi Fantasia.
Begitu bersyukurnya kami kat stadium. Berdebar jugak masa Aznil nak announce result.
But after Yazer was called, out, we knew Kefli da takder harapan.

The day started out hectic sebab nak agih-agihkan tiket pada semua. Ramai lak time nak dekat masuk final ni. Mula-muka tergelak baca kat website Astro pasal kata tiket sold out.

Yelah...every week kata nak habis, tetap berlambak ruang kosong kat stadium tu.

But tonight - it was different.

Memang padat! Perghh!

Sampai stadium 7.20pm pun da penuh parking. Nak letak keta kat celah belakang stadium seperti biasa lak kali ni, kena halang. Adus! Katanya tuk Astro je. No amount of sweet talking could help.

So we parked kat entrance nak masuk balik ke jalan besar. First time jauh sangat.

Masuk je, syukur lah semua yang kena amik tiket ngan aku sampai awal. By 8pm semua da settle, masuk tempat duduk pun da booking. Dok belakang Farah dan parents dia with Mas. Apa lagi...sempat la mengumpat sikit.

Sekali ngan my best friend, si Ted along with fellow bloggers Sultan Muzaffar dan Juan Danza and teman wartawan lain cam si Farihad dok ngan kengkawan dari Astro cam Norizan and all.

Biasalah...lepas ni tak dapat laa nak carut lagi persembahan budak-budak. Masuk final, suka ke tak suka (later found out semua aku suka kan) I am still supportive.

It was fun...because I suppose everyone had this apprehension of whether a mistake was going to be made.

But there was a certain party atmosphere sebab tak kisahlah risau mana pun - we knew this had to be it!

Mawi, Felix, Yazer & Kefli - Lagu bonus - Medley Ghazal Untuk Rabiah (Jamal Abdillah dan Nasir), Apokalips (M.Nasir), dan Ekspres Rakyat (Kembara)
Apa nak katakan ek. It was decent. I have no idea why it was called a tribute. Too self-indulgent for me. Nothing great about the boys' medley...kira biasa-biasa saja. Kefli looked and sounded really out of place in this one.

Yazer - This Love (Maroon 5)
I have a feeling that Yazer didn't have a clue what the song was about, and how to go about performing it. Kelakar to see him gyrating away...they might as well as given him a real dance tune cause he didn't seem to get into the funk of things.

And what the hell was he wearing? It seems that somehow he was wearing a sweatshirt inspired top ala karung guni that made him look heavier walaupun Aznil kata dia lost weight. He didn't have a sense of coordination in his little dance routine and vocally was so out of breath - he might as well be shagging jer. Terbayang lak ngan bunyian dia so out of breath, images from Putrajaya masa peluh meleleh tak henti-henti. And his diction was horrid, and I was straining to see if he forgot any of the words to the tune. Thank God it was finally bye-bye Yazer!


Marsha - Ku Pendam Sebuah Duka (Khatijah Ibrahim)
Aku da sediakan tissue Premier yang disponsor tuk meleleh airmata pada this one. But somehow...her fumbling with the lyrics didn't seem to help. So it was a slow start yang memang horrifying, especially at this stage of the competition to screw up....Memang kita semua cringing gila babiks ler takut sangat Marsha tak mampu bak lagu.

But into the second verse dia pick up habis and ended it proving she was one of the better vocals for the night. And yes...I dedicated the song to someone and habis juga dua pack tissue Premier.

Definitely one of the highlights of the show as usual!

Felix - Anak (Freddie Aguilar)
Aku cam bengang sikit the way they tried to put the spotlight on Yazer for backing him on guitar. Nak gorengke nak solo ker skali ngan Sham, buat lah masa lagu sendiri. Dahler sebelum tu Yazer da di promo lebih-lebih oleh Astro bab rumah orang tua tu (nak undi simpati ke). I mean...why couldn't all the kids have been taken. Anyway - another thing about the backing, perlu ke mintak Mawi backing juga kalau setakat tambourine.

Still - Felix managed to hold on to his spotlight walaupun lagu tu simple and easy listening.
And yes, I think he had the right expression for the song throughout. Simply captivating! Makes up for the past few weeks of horror from Felix.

Kefli - Tak Tahu (Adam)
Ni apa kes ni??? Teruk sangat ke sampai tertonggeng?

Setakat choreography - minimal and nothing to shout about. Vocally - he did everything! Wrong that is....

Bukan sahaja lupa lirik - dahlah bukan sekali. Ni lari tempo...pitching...key...tc. Everything was just so wrong. And the sengau was stilll as irritating as ever!

The joke is - it's only lagu Adam. Takder ler challenging mana pun! Aku rasa masa lagu ini dipilih dulu, they were trying to get something easy for him. Well, apparently mereka tak sedar easy is not in Kefli's vocab. After all - he still has trouble trying to figure out how to breathe and sing at the same time! And the trying to walk like Mawi thing was hardly cute! It was him being insistently irritating as usual...

Aku enjoy this show only because of Mawi (boleh tahan ler rap dia walaupun aku rasa Yazer ni ada hidden potential nak rap ngan groove dia).

Mana tak nya, si Mawi asyik buat second voice, "Yo! Yo! Ya-ah-ow! Ya-ah-ow!". Adus...pecah peruts!

Amylea - Gemilang (Jaclyn Victor)
So I would be the first to admit Amylea's version tak se power Jac's.
But WOW! She made it hers! Lagu tu jadi lain sangat ngan improvisation dia yang just nice, tak overboard.

She lost some steam mid-way due to the limitations of her voice, cracking a little here and there, but like Marsha, picked up and rocked the house!

Standing ovation dari kita!

Puas juga seeing a real performer like her, announced the qualifier over si sengau Kefli tu. I mean really! In a world that had any values of fairness, she wouldn't have been in contention against someone like him in the first place!

Suka pic ni... tengok muka Kefli torture nak maintain muka diplomatic over penyingkiran dia! Padahal, nampak sangat dia tahan sentap tu.

Seriously Kefli...

Did you really, actually think you stood a chance???

Mawi - Pergi Tak Kembali (Rabbani)
Mmm...this one aku tatau camna nak comment. Ok would be it. Bukan sebab Mawi tak bagus ke...ada kesilapan ke...ataupun aku tak hendak memberikan dia credit for doing his best.

Perhaps for one thing the song cam tak power. Also, since it's his forte, kekuatan dia pada irama nasyid, aku rasa cam biasa je dia sampaikan. Memang bagus dan bersahaja, tapi susah nak feel apa-apa sebab ala kadar je.

The funny thing is - seperti seseorang bloggers mengatakan - kalau orang lain surprise macam-macam kejutan, adakah Mawi pada mata Astro hanya layak untuk dibacking by kumpulan nasyid kampung dia je ke? (Tu pun off gila babas! Mencacatkan persembahan Mawi je)

But - Mawi at least maintain consistency dia dan tak slack ler.

Still, I think Pupus dia punya strongest performance so far.

Amylea & Marsha - Lagu bonus - Medley Jerat Percintaan (Siti Nurhaliza), Bunga-Bunga Cinta (Misha Omar), Tangisan Dalam Kerinduan (Farah) dan Gubahan Rindu Puisi Syahdu (Fauziah Latiff)
Wow! Kalau lah dua orang ni terus final wat camni! Adus! Ni baru standard boleh dibanggakan! Farra masuk pun takder effect.

The best thing is - kalau empat orang pelajar lelaki kena layan tiga lagu bonus, the two girls took on four songs! You have to respect that! Plus they did it their way. Again, a little few hiccups here and there - but deserving of another standing ovation!

Menuju Puncak was ridiculous. I mean...takkan Astro tak sedar hambar semacam je choreography musim ni! Dari konsert pertama, semua bising kata sedih sangat tarian tuk lagu tema Akademi Fantasia ni - and sill no change has come about!

Nine weeks later, we're still served with the same pathetic fare!



Yang peliknya kali ni - bila the final pose - kenapa Mawi seorang tu keluar dari the whole set-up. I mean, looking at the picture - it simply doesn't make sense. Sensitif ke kalau dia bersentuhan dengan pelajar memana? Ke takut cam sebelum ni dimana Kefli 'menunggang' Mawi in the last pose sampai tak reti henti meraba (usha balik replay of the last concert).

Whatever it is - Menuju Puncak has been taken to new heights of silliness!

By the way, the final tribute with semua yang tersingkir was touching - only sadly it was for AFVOKAL more than anything else.

Kalau nak sangat wat AFVOKAL, bagik laa memasing kuar lagu sendiri ke pa. Ni tak. How you suppose to judge them individually from a group song. You're talking about everyone singing on a different key and all.

Plus, everyone has their set piece for a solo, so there's bound to be seorang dua yang lebih kan?



Whatever it is - consolation prize or not - AFVOKAL (which is Anugerah Vokal Popular - sebab diundi dan bukan Anugerah Vokal Terbaik seperti didakwa Astro) should go to only among Idayu, Fuad, Amylea, Amy, Marsha or even Aidil (seriously?). Why do I say that? Well - from their unique vocal tone - to their much polished appearance now since their introduction, I think these few yang menyerlah overall.

Yes, even Aidil didn't sound as bad as he did when in Akademi ketika mempersembahkan Didn't We Almost Have It All in the group performance. Elliza was the most horrible, screeching like pontianak mengilai kena buasir (boleh ke?)

Anyway, back to the show...

And the result?



Apa lagi? The four best performers, who have been consistently delivering for weeks now! Thank God Malaysia got it right! Teringat musim lepas masa Bob diumumkan masuk and aku terpikir how the SMS votes were right for the first time the whole season!

And this time - Malaysia got it right. Mungkin aku masih tak setuju peratusan antara empat pelajar tu jauh sangat, but still - they are in the final!

Aku sekarang tak kisah siapa duduk di tangga mana. Sebab untuk aku - cukup lah keempat-empat mereka layak, teramat layak untuk masuk final!

Habis saja pengumuman - berpuluh SMS aku terima on all three mobile numbers aku! Sampai habis bateri phone siot!

Bergegas ngan bebudak tuk amik kek kat keta - lari ke belakang production area di mana dah janji ngan Idayu & Co. nak celebrate birthday Fuad. Sayang Bob tak ada kerana outstation tuk show kalau tak leh celebrate skali.

Anyway, a BIG happy birthday to both Bob dan Fuad!!!



Lama gak tunggu meka nak masuk ke area production tempat makan crew - but sampai-sampai saja, Idayu, Reza, Amy, Aidil, Elliza, Akma (Ekin tak nampakl lak) nyanyi Happy Birthday tuk Fuad. Separuh tenaga pengajar pun masih ada nak wish skali termasuk abang M.Nasir, kak Marlia (thank you for staying back, babe) and a few more.

Abih tu sembang-sembang ler kengkawan sana. Puas jugak result. And rata-rata most of us hardly care how the final turns out because buat kali pertama, statement Vince 'tiada pengalah' makes sense'.

I was told by friends that there is a possibility that dia sentimen mungkin digunakan sesetengah pihak dalam kempen tuk AFUNDI masuk final ni.

And they are the two most sensitive things that anyone could harp on. So I hope we all can pull together and vote for who we believe is talented - and not bother with these two issues which some extreme fans mugnkin menggunakan.

Sentimen pertama of course mengenai dua pelajar dari Borneo and dua pelajar dari Semenanjung. I say, so what? We're all still Malaysians kan? Biar kita banggawith the best we have to offer without caring which state or side of the country we're from!

The second is a more sensitive issue. Sudah pasti Mawi dan Amylea beragama Islam while Felix dan marsha are Christians. Again, aku merayu semua dalam keghairahan mengundi pelajar tersayang, supaya jauhi diri dari sentimen sebegini. We are voting for talent - and that's all that counts. After all - pelajar-pelajar Akademi Fantasia telah membuktikan kami lah a community which prides itself ont he unity our nation is so proud of -maybe we could learn something from them!



Ok laa...letih siot...from the excitement and anticipation (and I suppose the subsequent partying) but thank you to everyone who voted for the girls to make sure they got into the final!
