About a decade ago, I was in a house in Jalan Setiamurni, Bukit Damansara. Masa tu bertugas. I had traipsed all around Kuala Lumpur, only to end up back there for a press conference.

In the middle of it all, pandemonium broke out. The house was surrounded by uniformed and non-uniformed personnel of several bodies of the law. Within minutes into the press conference, hell broke loose!

The window beside the front door was broken, and eventually, the door too. Men in ski masks, balaclavas if you must, rushed in, brandishing what looked like M16s.

Having heard the commotion, the person holding the press conference, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, was brought to a safer part of the house by family and friends, while idiots like me rushed to the front door to see what was happening.

The moment the men rushed in, aku dok terpaku. It was something frightening for me as I had never ever thought I would experience that in real life.

Several members of the Press, tak silap aku dari suratkhabar lain, and a member of the foreign press were roughly handled. I kept snapping photographs with my company camera.

Then the men came after me as I snapped their pics.

What do you think I did?

I ran screaming like a little girl la! What the f**k did you think I was going to do???!

They gave up chasing a hysterical queen and everything else, happened like it was reported on the news. Anwar was arrested.

Now... ten years later, it's happened again.

Again he has been arrested, and perhaps in no less a brutish manner.

Aku tak sempat tengok berita, but I knew they reported his arrest, which was no surprise.
The part everyone forgot to highlight was that not only did they arrest him before his time was up at 2pm (et they have an excuse for that), they also sent in the men with balaclavas again! (CLICK HERE to read more)

I remember back then I felt the fear of living in what was almost a police state... where you could be dragged kicking and screaming from your beds when all this happened before me. Now I feel that same dread again.

My heart goes out to the family of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. The law is the law... and no one should be above it (someone tell that to certain people within the government)... but this is simply too much.

Everyone has rights.

My heart especially goes out to Nurul Izzah. It's been almost a decade too since I last spoke to her. Wonder if she still thinks Radiohead and Smashing Pumpkins rule!

Whatever you guys think, consider this. What if it happened to you, or your loved one.

CLICK HERE to read Izzah's account if you've never imagined a daughter's pain and another side of the story the mainstream media conveniently forgets to highlight each time. I remember the sh*t I got for my story on the family's account even back then... so my heart goes out to my colleagues who work in this period where jouirnalistic freedom is so enjoyed (that does come with a hint of sarcasm.. you think???!!).

Away from all that (had to get that off my chest)... I spent the whole lounging (meaning bumming) at home. Tak sihat lor.

But before midnight I parked my rear end kat Pavilion (managed to avoid any stupid road blocks, the result of more paranoia).

I celebrated the dawn of my birthday (literally sebab shooting sampai 5 lebih pagik ok), with Stacy, Zahid, Shawal and Riz, apart from Cherry, Nurul and the rest of the production crew of Aku Stacy and the TV commercial shoot for the Boh tea campaign.

It was fun, and passed time playing with my N95 8gb since leh wireless to get online. Cool! A lot of pics, so brace yourselves.
Ok la.. enjoy it. Tomorrow one more shoot for the commercial. More pics then. Toodles!

PS - Wonder what happens with Raja Petra today?

Counting the days...

Ok, so I have to gloat. Remember I said I was a tad peeved sebab tak dapat pe pe (apart from four movie passes la) the last Nuffnang gathering during the Wild Live Blogging event? Anyhoo, as I mentioned, I was invited among the few by Nuffnang to join in for a special preview of The Dark Knight malam tadik.

Walaupun having a flu today, sampai tak larat bangun, gigih gak aku wat persiapan nak penuhi invitation Nuffnang.

For two simple reasons - so wanted to watch the The Dark Knight (nak tengok sendiri the last performance of the late, and henceforth to be known as great Heath Ledger!) as well as having my eye on the Nokia N95 8gb phone up for grabs.

Toyed around prosthetics and liquid latex for my look. Wanted to stay true to the new version of Joker, which was a darker look compared to the more comic versions before this. Did I succeed?
I dunno... what you guys think? I got some funny looks turun member punya apartment where I spent only about an hour plus getting ready. Tak kemas sangat keja sebab I didn't have more time to fix things up, and let the latex dry.

So no pics... cause I am not too happy how it turned out. Not too bad... but not that good either.
Anyhoo, sampai pun lambat... with a lot of people giving me strange looks dari car park sampai ke GSC kat Gardens. What do you expect??? I had green hair, a white face, ripped lips and panda eyes! And all in purple and green too. Heh!!!

Tapi yang penting.. before the show started, they announced the winner of the Nokia N95 8gb. Guess who it was?

Thank you to both Nuffnang and of course Nokia, cause it was the first early birthday present I received for this year. Plus of course, on top of it all, I really wanted to get a new phone, since I have two phone lines, and I needed another new phone apart from the Motorola Rokr E8 I'm using for my Maxis line.

Before I gloat more on the phone, just a little on The Dark Knight. Getting to see the movie before almost everyone else was awesome! Especially since I've been on pins and needles nak tengok how the late Heath Ledger would perform.

And my verdict? You know how they say his performance should be up for an Oscar. I so FREAKING agree! He redefined the character of the Joker! It was dark and in a twisted manner, sort of engaging for all the right reasons.

The movie itself was more than a decent watch, though I thought they tried to cram too much in this feature. The whole thing bouncing off between storylines of Harvey 'Two Face' Dent and the Joker himself was just - mind numbing, not to mention butt numbing. I admit I dozed off on three occasions I think (sorry ler pada Izad sebab kena kejutkan aku each time... dunno whether I was really bored by those few draggy parts, or I just really caved in to my cold, or simpler still - I was really suffering from the lack of sleep)
Apart from that I have no real complaints.

For those who expect a more comic based approach, forget it. It's very, very, very dark, and for once, I actually Gotham City is more than just cut outs with little character in the individuals involved in the storyline.

And oh... Michael Caine reminded me more of Edward 'The Equalizer' Woodward.
Now.. back to the phone. Just a few pics of my new toy!

So my Rokr now has a friend! And they both look gorgeous. Sleek and shiny and both with enough of juice to power up music and videos for days between both.

Incidentally, caught Fergie's video, Clumsy, which I so love! See what phone she uses at 3:11. And when you watch The Dark Knight, watch out for the Nokia product placement. heh... popping some pills and getting some sleep. Nite all...

PS - Caught a recording of the debate between Anwar and Information Minister Shabery Cheek. Historic moment for the masses! Doesn't matter whose side you're cheering for.. at least it got on TV! Twice!!! With repeat tau!!!!
Anyway, Anwar is supposed to be arrested tomorrow (so much drama) while Syed Hamid Albar mintak maap kata "The public want their safety, not demonstrations or interference with their daily life."
How about the inteference with the damn traffic system???
How about that drooling??? (gelak sendiri!)

Just a quickie

Like the title says, hari ni malas wat posting panjang sangat. Rushed about a bit today, despite feeling a cold coming on. Rupanya, I'm not alone. A lot of people around me seem to be developing one. Selsema punya musim ke nih?

Aduh... please don't let me get sick. Hate being sick on my birthday. Every year something always happens days before my birthday to spoil it. Without fail. Though thankfully, I have chosen to ignore them to celebrate that annual occasion of welcoming the onset of looking like something the cat dragged in.

Ah... growing old gracefully.

Yes, I will be turning 32 on 17 July... so people, send me your presents! This year - I wish for only cash! Except those of you who know the weird stuff I like (retro MASK toys, electrical gadgets, magic illusions (no el cheapo made in China stuff) or even fragrances and fashion items I never seem to get around to using). If you know what I like from reading my blog - send them to me. Matilah demanding!

If you don't know what I like - just send me CASH! Heh! You can deposit it in my Maybank account (A/C number 114187390217, Name : Joseph Lee Cheng Kim - yes, that's my REAL NAME!) where your angpows will go towards procuring my company assets! Thank you Amir for making me a money-minded person (wonder if he made that million he was looking for yet?)

Sodih kan nak demand? Well, think of it as a precationary measure IN CASE you guys do want to get me something. Let me know if you banked it in by emailing me at klubbkidd@gmail.com

Anyhoo, lotih gila. Rasa nak demam ni, malam tadi berembun lagik. Tak larat ke dance rehearsal for the Boh commercial, but sempat ikut Stacy, Cherry and Nurul jumpa the gang from Stacy FC.

A new, bigger and better website will be launched soon, so we had a quick photography session for pics for the layout and gallery of the upcoming new site. Of course, it's not complete yet, but the site will be http://www.stacyangie.com which is aimed at the branding of Stacy and an offering to offer more up to date news on Stacy.

A big thank you to everyone for their time, and the fun evening.

Me in need of rest and gonna pop some pills and sleep now. Ta!

Having her cake - and eating it too

Make up artist terlampau - looks like one of those things that crawl out of TV sets in Japanese horror movies!

Naik lif pun leh pose tuh! Saja tanak tunjuk the photo session... tuh tunggu...

One last one...

Paranoia

You know the problem of our beloved government is? Unless you didn't read the title of this entry, you would have so guessed it. Yeap.. paranoia!

Defined as -
1. a mental disorder characterized by systematized delusions and the projection of personal conflicts, which are ascribed to the supposed hostility of others, sometimes progressing to disturbances of consciousness and aggressive acts believed to be performed in self-defense or as a mission.
2.baseless or excessive suspicion of the motives of others.

How else do you explain smalam nak ke KL cam lahanat sangat traffic jam. Da ler the building of the flyover in Klang tuh menyesakkan dan melumpuhkan sistem trafik satu bandar.

Pastu sampai je flyover Bukit Rajah, jam!!! Fiften minutes just to move a ,mere jarak of 500 meter. Cam sial! Pastu takpe. Nak masuk KL dekat Kota Darul Ehsan, lagik satu round. Kali ni lagik teruk!

Half hour wasted there. Da lah naik minyak, pastu nak spend nearly an hour of additional fuel-burning time wasting lak.

And all because someone feels the need to buat road block to thwart some devious minds who might cause some hoo-ha over the supposed no-confidence motion against the Prime Minister esok in Parliament.

I really have to commend the police on their efficiency. Too bad they didn't apply it masa aku wat police report complete with the details of the car registration etc. of the people who broke into my car. Another yeay for public confidence in the uniform.

So who ordered the waste of resources, since aku kena put up with the Klang OCPD punya excuse during a recent dialogue with residents that the police are severely understaffed?
Selangor police chief Datuk Khalid Abu Bakar, according to Bernama said the roadblocks put up since yesterday were also part of its crime prevention measures. "Although the gathering was planned in front of Parliament house, not in Selangor, we will continue to monitor the situation from here."

Tuh dia!!! Efficient melampau lak? Don't you have some break-ins to solve? Yang tak larat siap additional statement where "motorists have been urged to be patient and cooperate with the police".

Merasalah!

The police being efficient

The police done being efficient

Aku leh claim rebate ke bazir minyak burning up precious fuel while a dozen uniformed personnel dok menganyam ketupat tepi jalan tuh? Cause seriously, no one is actually doing any checking. In fact, they all look so bored with the pointlessness of it all.

There better be a gathering esok kat Parliament or my one hour in the jam, or the dedicated police officers following some superior's orders would have just wasted their time and more.
Just to add a little more, according to Malaysiakini, police have also obtained a court order to arrest on sight if Anwar Ibrahim and opposition supporters are spotted within five kilometres of Parliament. Erm... but it was also reported that police are calling him in at 2pm tomorrow for questioning.

MAKE UP YOUR DAMN MINDS LA!!!

Anwar ada clone ker to be running around the city in multiple locations or whatever.
Sheesh!

Anyway... finally got to Angkasapuri. Had fun on the Blog program over TV1, which honestly, I feel is so good for bloggers, no matter what your thoughts otherwise are.

Consider this. Blogging gives us a voice. A program like this, gives people more insight into why we do it, and help share our beliefs to those who may not have heard of us before.

Tima kasih ler pada abang Hashim, Fadli and the whole production crew of the program sebab sudi jemput aku. Touched, definitely. And especially so since the show contained interviews by my friends in the media who commented about me and my blog. Aw..... leh nitis air mata nih.

After it was done, I was handed a CD containing the program recorded. Aiyo... besh nya. Leh simpan katanya. Tak yah aku nak download. Oops!

Made my way to Shah Alam, sebab nak jumpa kengkawan yang turun gi layan Gangstarz, including si Mila and Famee. No thanks to the jam on the way back (sigh), sampai pon da nak abih da. But just in time nak catch Ari Lasso perform.

Ari Lasson performing

There were no eliminations this week... not like I care sebab aku tak follow pun so far. And I doubt I will sebab overheard ramai merungut kata persembahan teruk.

Erm... eh ok la. Catching a DVD or two before I call it a night. Til tomorrow...

All wet

Today was a wet day! Erm.. not that kind of wet.

The Celebrity Car Wash kat SACC Mall in Shah Alam was fun, fun, fun! And all in the name of charity as money was being raised for the Ronald McDonald Children Charity.

Masa sampai, team Era FM conquered the area. Tapi selain penyampai semua, group dari Alif FC gak memeriahkan suasana, skali ngan Alif. Kids from So You Think You Can Dance chipped in too. Tomorrow one last day, and ramai lagik selebriti tempatan akan hadir, so bring your dirty automobiles and let them wash it for you for charity!

Enjoy some pics from today. Best taw... just a little letih tengok Linda dan Nana waterfight. Heh! Dari basuh keta, sempat gak meka nih semua main air.

While everyone was washing, yours truly who didn't come with spare clothes sat out and played cheerleader jer. Pastu bila letih, terus gi shopping. Nothing to buy (SACC Mall ada ker benda sangat... and then ke Plaza Alam Sentral which at least had soem stuff worth browsing).

Finally bought this HP 3 in 1 printer, scanner and copier I been eyeing, which only sold for RM199. Good for home use. I only need a fax machine. Actually ada 4 in 1 of these thingie yang also incorporate a fax, but aiyo... perlu ke. Sarat sangat functions.

Pas abih gi rumah Ayien ada kenduri housewarming. Then called it an early night. Esok kena pick up stuff for the Nuffnang premiere of Dark Knight on Tuesday (yes, another costume party thingie (that's a choice of Joker or Two Face for me, though I know a lot of people who could go as both minus the costumes or masks).

Yawn... don't forget I'll be appearing on TV1 over the program Blog at 8.40pm tomorrow night.

Til then...
