Welcome home my fellow Malaysians!

Awal pagi rajin lak nak post entry baru kan.

First of all, I just want to say welcome home for our 12 Malaysians who were on board the Gaza-bound humanitarian aid flotilla, Mavi Marmara.

Syukur seribu syukur... praise God for their safe return.

Watching them walk through the halls of the airport was a happy moment.

Cuma sayang lah... saat kegembiraan mereka I felt, was marred. Some 300 people welcomed them home. Too bad nampak cam ramai tak perlu. Personal opinion jek.

For me, cukup la heads of state led by Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin - our deputy Prime Minister, family and close friends as well as media.

We want to welcome them home, not put on a circus.

Sibuk lak ramai, sampai aku tengok tukang pakai vest Security pon tak dok jaga, snappy pics lak.

Apapon, congratulations to Astro Awani for a job well done for the live coverage. It's a good start to a beautiful Sunday morning.

Also to add, while I'm happy for our Malaysian to return safe, tapi aku harap sangat people don't laungkan the word hero.

The real heroes are those (macam blogger ni pon ada tweet) - are those who prayed for them, those who secured their release and for me too, those who are still fighting injustice, not just there, but everywhere around the world.

Let's not lose perspective of things here. No one won a war. We can be thankful, but jangan nak over celebrate.

Apapon... great to have you guys back.

Off track sikit.

Of course most of you know I am one of the featured bloggers of Project Alpha season two which is a reality Internet show by Nuffnang. Mine was recorded masa pergi ke Sarawak for the audition of Akademi Fantasia 8 there.

It was a pain in the butt to have cameras following me everywhere - but kinda fun I suppose. Makes me want to have a reality show of my own where everyone can see me bitch about the world. What you seee is very U rating. I want something 18SX! Heh!

AF8 has come and gone, but it's like a trip back in time, kan?

See if you can spot Farina in the video (part five).

Selama Akademi Fantasia, aku tak cakap pon sapa yang aku kenal kan yang aku penah katakan? Well it was Farina. Masa tengok dia lepas stage four aku happy banget!!!! Daus pon kenal aku masa jumpa aku kat audition cause dia pon ujibakat on the same day. See if you can spot him in the video too.

Anyway korang layan je la ek. Me got fun Sunday planned. Yeay! For now lapar... so nak carik makan jap. Just watch the damn video already! Everything's in a playlist, so click play and enjoy.

Insomnia no more

My day has was REALLY packed today.

Spent whole day with the guys from Project Alpha 2. The media launch was in the morning at Cineleisure and caught up with the other six bloggers (well five actually.. minus one.. selain dari aku) yang terlibat in this season.

In case you don't know who they are, they're Niki, KY, Ninie, Shaolin Tiger, Azwan Ali and Cheesie (yang takde cause heard she's in Japan). And completing the seven deadly sins... I mean the seven bloggers involved.. who else lah... me, myself and I... aku, aku dan aku lah!

With Niki, Azwan and Ninie
That's us too!
Rasa nak curi bawak balik je bunting ni!
After the launch, Ninie, Xiaxue and I headed to P1 office at Greenpacket in PJ. Alamak...depan je opis lama aku. Got a tour of the place (awesome.. they obviously took inspiration from Google's excellent offices), met the staff (friendly gila) and also tired ourselves out there. The two ladies especially kept me company... seronok layan kerenah dedua... Ninie with her endless yoga poses yang very the mencabar as well as Xiaxue (first time meeting her.. and also hubby Mike) who kinda clicked with me (she thought I was and I quote "flamboyant").

Camwhoring with Wendy aka Xiaxue on the rooftop garden of the P1 office
Then headed back to Cineleisure for the blogger's launch. And then for a movie (thanks to Nuffnang) I think we all had low expectations for the movie, Kick Ass, but WOW... were we wrong. Damn good popcorn movie.

Was out by 10.30am and only arrived home at midnight. Ridiculous. Need sleep. Esok ada banyak keja... morning for Atilia's video shoot, and three meetings (one at lunch, one in the evening and one at night... nangis

PS - Thanks to the folks at Adidas Action 3. Hope the plans go as planned for the coming weeks *wink*

PPS - A very special thanks to the LOVELY folk at P1 who hooked me up with the Mac driver for the P1 W1GGY! Yeay! I'm one of the first people with it on Mac cause it just came out of the beta testing phase. Those of you using Mac, you can now turn to P1 W1GGY now! Oh and by the way... tested their 20mbps line. GILA SIOT!!!!! Movie dalam 800mb leh abih dalam masa lima minit gituh! NAK!!!!

PS - Poyo tak sapa tengok Diari hari ni.. si Maulana. Arituh da wat statement feeling "we're the best AF ever had".. skang feeling tak penting lak pengkritik nya pendapat asalkan "peminat berjuta-juta suka." Hado?!

Project Alpha 2

Dah nak tidur... then tetiba ada member mesej kat Twitter link nih.

Alamak.. memula nak rahsiakan dulu. Tapi da kuar da.

Taken from mstar. Tengok je headline...

Azwan Ali Dan Klubbkidd Antara 7 Blogger Paling Berpengaruh

Matilah aku!!! Argh.. pecah rahsia. And I thought benda ni lom umum secara official, so aku diamkan.

But yes, if you read the story, I am one of the bloggers selected in the Project Alpha project - an online reality show covering the lives of Malaysia's top bloggers. Nanti je la aku cita kan lebih pasal tuh ok.

So since the cat is out of the bag, I just wanted to say, this coming weekend, I will be going to Sarawak for the auditions of Akademi Fantasia with the camera crew there. So, kepada pembaca blog di sana, join me ok on Sunday! If you guys are auditioning, I'll be there to offer whatever tips I can.

Apapon... jumpa korang kat sana. See you... dah amik medication nih. Demam pon nak reda dah. Night all...

PS - Forgot to mention earlier... was a little upset Matthew Morrison, Lea Michele and Jane Lynch didn't win at the Golden Globes, but SO HAPPY that Glee won Best Television Series - Comedy Or Musical!

A big deal...maybe

The first ever Nuffnang Asia-Pacific Blog Awards 2009 is coming. And nominations are now open! Don't know how grand it will be, though it sounds pretty big. Macamanapon, it's the first, so word up! Go Nuffnang!

And like Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu in the MIC elections (I just don't have the bad hair) - I have my favourites I want to nominate and back for contention.

Aku pon da nominate these people, but I guess korang leh agik nominate them sebab the more the merrier right. Besides, these are some of the best Malaysian blogs that I follow.

These are the categories up for grabs that have been opened for nomination.

Blogs of Subject Interest:

Overall Blog Categories

sultanmuzaffar
My first nomination goes to a Malaysian pioneer blogger (dalam bahasa kita kertu ye) which is sultanmuzaffar. Beginning in 2002, he has paved the way for many a blogger.
Sempat tengok dia bermula dari blogger yang ketika tu regarded as non hado - sampai he finally ended up with Astro Awani. He learnt the ropes fast, understood the politics of the business better, and learnt - this business is full of turds - and why we can't always tell the truth.
Most bloggers - especially entertainment bloggers, have him to thank for when it comes to bloggers getting some amount of respect when attending events. My blog itself was a personal one in 2003, before 'rebranding it to officially launch in 2004 based on the template of writing more of my work in entertainment circles which I had access to.
I nominate sultanmuzaffar for Best Celebrity Blog, Best Entertainment Blog and Most Influential Blog.

Lea Laurielle
A 'show girl', Lea Laurielle was 'born' a woman - in a wig and stilletoes. Heh... Yang penting walaopon blog 'adik-adik' (skang da kategori nenek-nenek kot - larikkk!!!), she was a good source then for make-up and fashion tips. Kata kau... (cepat nyanyi I Learn From The Best nyeh!)
Even though she's slowed down, her blog is undoubtedly my choice for Best Fashion Blog (though she talks more of her own looks) and Best Hidden Blog.
Merasalah kalao ada kategori Blog Alam Barzakh pon aku nominate. But since dia queen of makeovers, aku nominate dia for Best Original Blog Design as well.

The Malay Male
Amir Hafizi was a colleague of mine, and more recently returned to that status. The geek who loves typical geek stuff, has powerful words though. Blog dia is one of the most humourous attempts at self-glorification, which is a fun read - if you get past his strong, never changing views - of how he hates so many things.
Nevermind the fact that in the past couple of years he has constantly erased his blog for no reason, it keeps coming back nastier than ever. Love it!
I nominated Amir for Best Geek Blog and Best Hidden Blog.

badrul~after~six
Aku tatau la what he does after six now since he doesn't work in an office position now. From major radio publicist - Badrul is now an artist manager, so masa memang anytime kan? Anyway sapa baca blog dia, tau celah selit bab hiburan, ada je sesi kongsi resipi dia.
For that, aku nominate dia Best Food Blog, selain Best Entertainment Blog dan Best Celebrity Blog.

Ada lagik aku nak nominate, tapi this is the list for now. If you have someone to nominate, CLICK HERE. Nak nominate aku pon leh - tapi aku tak harap pe pe pon - heh.. sebab aku warna kulit je sama, tapi aku tak sebut 'wah-lau eh!'. Aku cuma slalu carut... 'walauuuupunnnn' jer.

But I really want to see more Malaysian bloggers nominated, especially those in the Bahasa Malaysia medium, and perhaps those of a bilingual nature like mine. Not just the Manglish ones.

Biasalah... 1Malaysia. Sampai aku ke gathering Nuffnang baru ada yang tau aku berbangsa Chinese. Cause selama ni kalao terenguk blog aku merasalah just cause I blog dalam Bahasa Malaysia, meka ingat aku ni Melayu. So much for 1Malaysia..

Have fun nominating guys and gal.. nak berbuka!

PS - If you want to keep updated with me, including to know more on upcoming flash mobs - please join me on Twitter at @klubbkiddkl. Follow me now... also jangan lupa follow my blog. It's on the right side.

A whole load of tired

Oh my... the day started early for me. Too early since I'd gone to bed about 6am pas lepak with everyone at Pelita. After chilling out with the kids from 6ixth Sense, Bob and Shuib, and a whole load of others (KEPITA in action - KEPITA as in Kelab Pelita katanya)

So in just four hours, I was already up, showered and ready sudah to make my way to Masjid Putra in Putrajaya. Tujuan? Kursus kahwin Mawi dan Ekin.

Two days worth, compact and sandwiched into one day, extending to more than 12 hours in total, comprising of tujuh ceramah by four different ustaz. Aku singgah jap je, tak lama pon. Ni some pics aku sempat snap.

Aku tak amik pic dalam dewan ketika kursus. Ni pun snap time lunch break where had some time to catch up with Mawi.

Borak a little, and then kena rush ke second destination for the day. Cineleisure kat Damansara for the press preview of Cicakman 2 : Planet Hitam. The invite said 3pm, and I got there just after in the pouring rain dengan ngantuk sekali. Elok la da tak cukup tidur, cuaca besh camni lak. Damn!

Turns out there was some signing of an MoU between the production and a transport company first. Aduh.. dok ruang legar over an hour later, then only semua moved ke atas for refreshments.

Didn't have much to say for those who asked me, or will ask me what I thought of the movie. More effects, but honestly.. erm.. I would say the first better cause the second nih, actually tries to be intelligent and more structured in storytelling.

The effects were decent, but not mind-blowing - and no, I am not comparing against Hollywood scale films. Cuma.. entah la...

Yang pentingnya, if you ask me what I thought of the film, all I can honestly say is, I fell asleep less than half an hour after it started and woke up ten minutes or so before it ended!!! And it wasn't about being tired or cold. Because when I woke up, I turned around, and ada kengkawan tidur! Ramai gak ngaku pastuh pun terlelap. Tapi aku rasa filem ni akan box-office again - sebab bebudak mesti nak tengok - and when underage kids watch a movie, mak bapak ler kena ikut. So one or two tickets, generates a couple more in sales.

Decided to snap a few pics. Here's Nani and Linda in action. Suka sangat tengok Nani punya rambut skang. She looks SO adorable! And followed by Profesor Klon himself. It's these few names, apart from Mamat Khalid who made a cameo along with others and Saiful Apek himself that made the film, watchable.

Pas abih tuh ingat nak sangat balik rumah sebab da kol 8 malam. But teringat ada lak meeting! And it was at 11pm!!! Damn! Tapi promised already, and besides, it was long time tak jadik da, so had to do it tonight jugak.

By the time done, it was already 2.30am!!! Finishing this blog entry up so I can get up by 9am tomorrow for the preview of Selamat Pagi Cinta which stars my favourite girls in Nani and Faz. Nanti aku post more pics and all ok.

Really gotta call it a night.. and to end this entry.. we have more of Kurt Cobain from around the Internet! Yes, people! More of me at the Halloween party yang aku nan ado bak balik haper haper sebab ada yang kata aku tak layak sebab da penah menang. Heh.. merasalah!

With Kim - a top blogger, with the next pic too courtesy of another top blogger in ShaolinTiger

I don't know who this hot chick is, but my guess is she was Mike Yip's date. Thanks for the pics, bro!

Nokia Nuffnang Silent Halloween Rocks!

So this is the entry I guess some people have been waiting for. To see what my costume for the Nuffnang Halloween Silent Party looks like, and whether I can come up with a scarier look than my Joker effort during the Dark Knight premiere.

Ok, so here's a mini tutorial before I reveal my look, as I show what techniques I used, so hopefully you guys can some up with something like this too in the future, cause this is the last time me doing effects make-up and I'd love to see more people experimenting with effects make-up.

So after collecting everything I needed, including a last minute acquisition of a wig I wanted to destroy to become my prop and accessory, I was ready to rumble! Had to make up and get ready in a friend's place in Pandan Mewah and drive the distance in my costume, so was praying takde orang mati terkejut tengok my look on the way to the venue.

Ok, now on to the process. If you guys wanna recreate this look, contact me ok. I'm no professional effect make up specialist, but I think even though I've done it only about three times now, I have the basics pretty tight already - and since I'm never going to another costume party like this (story below), I am more than willing to share the secrets on how to get the look. Which by the way arrogant as it may, I think is better than some stuff we see in local TV dramas or movies.

Here's some of the basic stuff you need.

And yes, that's all you need!

Pretty easy huh? And cheap! Grab one of those cheap ass masks you can find in any Uptown site. Can cost you anywhere between RM4 to RM20. I chose the RM20 one cause it had the surface I needed with the holes and all to recreate my character's gunshot wounds. So instead of making or looking for expensive prosthetics, here's the cheapest way to have latex effects.

Also, a pair of scissors (that's free unless you don't have scissors at home), a bottle of spirit gum (RM13,90 in costume shops like the one I recommended in entry below) for sticking on the prosthetics, liquid latex (RM14 from costume shop and the most important ingredient you need), a roll of toilet paper (steal this from a hotel or something to save money - though I just brought one from home - can use also if you don't win for best costume) and finally a cheap ass make-up palette (am not going to use MAC, Bobbi Brown or Make Up Forever for this, so steal your mom's or get one for RM3.30 like I did from Giant).

Total cost? RM31.20. The wig cost the most at RM70 since I couldn't get one to destroy. Topeng murah tuh RM20. The t shirt was RM5 from bundle and the jeans my own. Cheap eh? About the same price as a rented outfit (cheaper if you have some of the stuff already like I do) and still more eye grabbing cause it's original and unique.

The actual cost for reproducing this look will depend entirely on what exactly you want, and what you already have.

Now see how it looks.

My character for Halloween this time around? Kurt Cobain, former lead vocalist of Nirvana, who committed suicide by blowing himself with a shotgun (though conspiracy enthusiasts will hear about how he was murdered). Being a Gen-Xer, the Seattle based band has always been one of my big bands I look up to, so I guess it's a fitting tribute that I pick him as my character.

Since I picked Kurt Cobain as my character, I had to do a little research. A lot of people thought he shot himself in the mouth. He didn't. It was from the lower jaw point, and penetrated the top part of his skull. So I had two major wound areas to simulate. One at neck, for the entry point of the bullet, and one more at the top of my skull for the exit point.

Hence... this is my effort... note this is with basic make up touch ups minus the blood so you can pretty much see it's not as realistic still.

Wanted to pose a time lapse video, but not possible cause I was doing it all on my own, plus didn't have the luxury of time since I started preparing pretty late at 3.30pm, with the event to begin at 6pm. Total prep time for this look - under two hours.

The first pic if my neck wound - which was a piece of cut-off from the cheap mask I bought to make a bullet hole. Use spirit gum to apply, and dab the the edges with liquid latex to blend. Using normal art brushes is enough.

Colour the whole appliance with skin tone, using a stipple sponge (or just any dish washing sponge, but make sure firm) then from the outer edges outwards with a dark shade of purple to lighter tones to simulate bruising. Use also specks of green and yellow to show rawness of the skin. Colour the inside of the hole black and dark purple for illusion of the depth of the hole.

The second pic is of my forehead, where I wanted to show how easy it is to do a torn skin effect. Just dab liquid latex on your skin, slap on slightly scrunched tissue paper and slap on more liquid latex. When it dries, cut open a hole, and voila, you have torn skin. Colour the insides like the above wound for depth, and foundation and some colour later, you have torn flesh.

If you want living dead skin, all wrinkly and all (though some people already have that), repeat the slap on liquid latex, and then tissue and more latex. Some foundation and you have yucky skin, which you can also peel off when bored, and gross people out.

The head wound was easiest. Cut a hole in the wig, and stick in a piece of the mask with a decent sized hole, and use spirit gum to make it stick. Applyliquid latex about the edges, and colour it the same manner with shading of bruising. Check out how bruising occurs for real (some scientific research helps make it more realistic). A little homework goes a long way. And when I say colour or application, apart from the use of brushes, I mean dabbing it with a sponge and not painting it like a wall tau!

For blood - senang gila! Please don't use ribena or poster colour. That's just silly. I use more organic stuff. Get red and blue food colouring, plus campor tepung sikit. It should not be too watery, so more flour. If you can't get blue, to darken the blood, I added oyster sauce, black kicap, a little tomato and chilli sauce, and here you have one yummy cocktail for blood.

Pop on borrowed contact lens of a friend (thanks Kie) and the effect put together should look like this. I forgot to hollow out my eyes and cheeks more for the effect of clotting and blood gathering around those areas like for a real corpse. Boo me!

I love my I Survived t shirt, ironic isn't it? RM5 je kat bundle - but the whole joke aspect of it was priceless!

Breaking the law and smoking outdoors of a premise - the undead are not bound by silly laws

Wanna touch it?

It was itching, but here's why you never scratch it

So with that, I was ready to flaunt my new looks. As you can see, it didn't take much for me to prepare, and I think a few people could have done more with their efforts.

The venue

The counter bunnies (they said they were supposed to be the Powerpuff Girls)

The very dark, but gorgeous interior of the club

I don't know why, but I like Celine Yap's little one-eyed mummy that looked cute but scary, and I definitely don't know her, so am not supporting her for any reason but the fact she looked good. Have no idea why she was not a finalist in the female category, but am not going to bitch about those who don't deserve it, so I'm pointing out those I noticed and liked.

A slutty joker nurse sucking on her milk carton (that just sounds so wrong!)

Other characters worth noting, were Phua Chu Kang (funny!), the milk carton (ultra funny with the missing person ad on the side), Hitler... and...

Wait a freakin' minute!!! There's another Kurt Cobain walking around the Borneo Baruk Club, and it's Tim, the head honcho of Nuffnang. But then since I'm Kurt Cobain, he must be Courtney Love going through a Britney moment! What can I say, Tim. Great minds think alike?

Here we are going through a cam whore moment!!!

Tim 'Kurt gone Courtney' Tiah, Josh of Jabbawockeez and me, back from the dead

And then back to the party... there were various games and all like the mummy wrapping bit with lotsa toilet paper strewn everywhere (not very environmentally friendly), a balloon popping thingie (very violent) and of course, the much awaited for silent dance.

Now the silent dance was worth noting, cause every played the same three tracks on their mobile, or MP3 device, and dance to it. In other words, the only thing you could hear in the club was foot stomping (from those who danced with two left feet) and the giggles of those who didn't dance but chose to laugh at those with two left feet.

Not very enviromentally friendly lor

But the best part of the night? Cam whoring!!!!!!

You see, despite not winning best costume (I was top three finalist in the male category), because of some reason that since I had already won before in the Dark Knight premiere as the Heath Ledger's Joker (wish someone had told me instead of making me finalist and making me think I stood a chance.. sigh) - I had lots of groupies!!!

Yeay!! Everyone loves Kurt Cobain!!!

I had so many people coming up to say I should win, and so many people asking me how I did my look, and complimenting me, that I was blown away that something so simple could be so praised. Aww... shucks! If onlt the undead could blush... I think I might be, under all the wounds and blood.

The angel and devil were both my fans too! So now I can say I have cool and hot fans!

So like whatever.. it was a fun party (and no Robb and Tim, no sweat about it all, me had massive fun anyways) and the night for was all about being idolised (macam sial kan so arrogant!) Can't wait for all the cam whoring pictures to come up on blogs everywhere! Some have started popping up in Nuffnang family blogs, and here are a few I found.

This is one of my favourites from Deb's blog. Also another from Karena's blog. Thanks for the comment, babe, even though you didn't know who I was. Not only was it one of the best pics, Deb also said "But personally, I thought this dude should have won Best Dressed. Just check out the realistic wounds and HIS EYES. That's just hardcore".

I'm sure more pics to come in the next few days. I took so many pics, now I know everyone loves Kurt Cobain (so perasan and berangan kan?)

With Deb and some friends of hers

With Karena wondering if I bled on her shoulder

Also thanks to my blog readers who came up me and said hi!!!! Love you guys! And thank you to everyone in Nuffnang for the party!

I won't be doing this again since me done it already and kind of becoming known for it, and time to go into other aspects of costume. Perhaps I'll open up a fake blog, and show up with a different identity so I can win again.

PS - Tim, keep your promise for a big 'do every three months!

I’m Going Silent this Halloween with Nokia XpressMusic

I've been to several Halloween parties before, though I never discovered the joy of dressing up in theme until a few years back. I have to thank Is and gang for inspiring me.

For one, served with endless mundane and very common choices of costume (yes, very creative sir... coming as Dracula?) it wasn't much of thrill. Not to mention I'd never won before this (which is ok cause I never wore a costume anyways - or it's be an insult to win for just your real face like I know how some easily can)

Ahh... but that was then, and this is now.

I've been experimenting with theatrical and film and TV stuff on how to look my freakiest for some time now. Yes, prosthetics and latex liquid is your friend - if you have the patience and time for for it.

I didn't, until the Nuffnang Dark Knight premiere not too long ago. Two hours (which is a very rush job), and this was my take of Heath Ledger's Joker.

Ok, I know the pics of me isn't all that hot - but I hadn't won the Nokia yet then

Not too bad. But seriously tak puas hati. I know I can do a lot more. The work wasn't so clean simply because I lacked time. Tapi kali ni for Halloween, I already have the freakiest look I can imagine in mind.

It's the Nuffnang Nokia Silent Halloween - held the day after the usual celebrations! I am so going to go all out and win another phone. Actually looking forward to getting an N96 to add to the N95 8GB I won at the premiere for my Joker ensemble.

Was initially disappointed that they offered the N96 as a post event prize. But saw that the Nokia 5320 XpressMusic phone and Nokia 5220 XpressMusic phone were up for grabs, so started on my homework for my transformation.

To the Nuffnang family - my invite better be in the post, or you're going to have deceased rock star showing up to crash the party! Heh... did I just give away what I was coming in?

Strangely enough, there's a weird twist for this party. To be held at the Borneo Baruk Club everyone's got to bring their mobile phone and headphones. Why? Simply because they cuting down on budget for the audio system and the need for a DJ (haiyoo... and I expect an invite like this meh?) Of course not la.. just the theme of things.

Welcome to Malaysia’s first Silent Dance Party! Those invited will be handed invitation emails along with a link to download music tracks for the Silent Dance Party onto phone or any other mobile music devices for use. Or so they tell us as they keeping everything secret.

A silent party? Interesting!

Here's my top ten list of why that would so rock! Let's count them down.

Top 10 Reasons Why A Silent Dance Party Rocks (with Nokia) - I feel so David Letterman!
10. You don't have the awkwardness of not knowing anyone, and can just pretend you're too cool for school with what's on your headphones.

9. No need for idle small talk.

8. You don't have to put up with crap playlists and have your own stuff to dance to which is probably more listenable.

7. You can always blame your lack of dance abilities on others not hearing the beats you are hearing.

6. You get to show off those expensive Bluetooth headphones you bought finally without people thinking, "What a showoff!"

5. There will be no need to hear high pitched squeals, screams, giggles and such everytime someone walks through the door in a funky costume reminding you that you're not taking the Nokia home.

4. On the reverse of number 6, you get to show how cheap your headphones are, so they inspire some sort of sympathy from the judges to award you with the Nokia and Bluetooth headsets they dishing out.

3. If someone shows up in something horrible (and not in a good way) and you laugh because you had no idea coming as a pink Hello Kitty fits into the Halloween celebrities theme, it won't be construed as rude as they assume you tengah layan something else.

2. Nuffnang gets to lower budget expenditure with piped in music at the club out of the list meaning they can splurge more on festivities and prizes and possibly more events.

1. And the number one reason - so when I have my headphone plugged in, I can waltz right past the reception despite not receiving an invite and mumble disgruntled about how some people never listen when I mumble something about me being someone invited - konon occupied on headphones.

Oooh me getting the tingles and shivers dah. Have to finish up my costume for that night. Trust me, I am coming back with a phone! What am I going as? Trust me - it's going to rock you with the Halloween celebs theme. Tim and Co., engrave my phone with my nickname. Heh!!!

Counting the days...

Ok, so I have to gloat. Remember I said I was a tad peeved sebab tak dapat pe pe (apart from four movie passes la) the last Nuffnang gathering during the Wild Live Blogging event? Anyhoo, as I mentioned, I was invited among the few by Nuffnang to join in for a special preview of The Dark Knight malam tadik.

Walaupun having a flu today, sampai tak larat bangun, gigih gak aku wat persiapan nak penuhi invitation Nuffnang.

For two simple reasons - so wanted to watch the The Dark Knight (nak tengok sendiri the last performance of the late, and henceforth to be known as great Heath Ledger!) as well as having my eye on the Nokia N95 8gb phone up for grabs.

Toyed around prosthetics and liquid latex for my look. Wanted to stay true to the new version of Joker, which was a darker look compared to the more comic versions before this. Did I succeed?
I dunno... what you guys think? I got some funny looks turun member punya apartment where I spent only about an hour plus getting ready. Tak kemas sangat keja sebab I didn't have more time to fix things up, and let the latex dry.

So no pics... cause I am not too happy how it turned out. Not too bad... but not that good either.
Anyhoo, sampai pun lambat... with a lot of people giving me strange looks dari car park sampai ke GSC kat Gardens. What do you expect??? I had green hair, a white face, ripped lips and panda eyes! And all in purple and green too. Heh!!!

Tapi yang penting.. before the show started, they announced the winner of the Nokia N95 8gb. Guess who it was?

Thank you to both Nuffnang and of course Nokia, cause it was the first early birthday present I received for this year. Plus of course, on top of it all, I really wanted to get a new phone, since I have two phone lines, and I needed another new phone apart from the Motorola Rokr E8 I'm using for my Maxis line.

Before I gloat more on the phone, just a little on The Dark Knight. Getting to see the movie before almost everyone else was awesome! Especially since I've been on pins and needles nak tengok how the late Heath Ledger would perform.

And my verdict? You know how they say his performance should be up for an Oscar. I so FREAKING agree! He redefined the character of the Joker! It was dark and in a twisted manner, sort of engaging for all the right reasons.

The movie itself was more than a decent watch, though I thought they tried to cram too much in this feature. The whole thing bouncing off between storylines of Harvey 'Two Face' Dent and the Joker himself was just - mind numbing, not to mention butt numbing. I admit I dozed off on three occasions I think (sorry ler pada Izad sebab kena kejutkan aku each time... dunno whether I was really bored by those few draggy parts, or I just really caved in to my cold, or simpler still - I was really suffering from the lack of sleep)
Apart from that I have no real complaints.

For those who expect a more comic based approach, forget it. It's very, very, very dark, and for once, I actually Gotham City is more than just cut outs with little character in the individuals involved in the storyline.

And oh... Michael Caine reminded me more of Edward 'The Equalizer' Woodward.
Now.. back to the phone. Just a few pics of my new toy!

So my Rokr now has a friend! And they both look gorgeous. Sleek and shiny and both with enough of juice to power up music and videos for days between both.

Incidentally, caught Fergie's video, Clumsy, which I so love! See what phone she uses at 3:11. And when you watch The Dark Knight, watch out for the Nokia product placement. heh... popping some pills and getting some sleep. Nite all...

PS - Caught a recording of the debate between Anwar and Information Minister Shabery Cheek. Historic moment for the masses! Doesn't matter whose side you're cheering for.. at least it got on TV! Twice!!! With repeat tau!!!!
Anyway, Anwar is supposed to be arrested tomorrow (so much drama) while Syed Hamid Albar mintak maap kata "The public want their safety, not demonstrations or interference with their daily life."
How about the inteference with the damn traffic system???
How about that drooling??? (gelak sendiri!)
