Catching some Zs

I think today was the first day in a LONG time I indulged in a massive sleeping exercise.

Tido pon da time subuh camna lak nak bangun awal kan. Terus apa pon dirancang tak dihiraukan. The comfort of air-conditioning and my bed was enough to keep me in it until pukul 4 ke 5 petang. Merasalah!

Tak jadi terus nak gi sale, sebab da malas nak lewat sangat, tapi kengkawan yang gi kata ada additional 15%!!! Penyesalan sikit, tapi cheered myself up by thinking of how much I save by NOT going there and shopping my ass off.

Besides, aku kena simpan duit sikit nak shopping for furniture for the office, so ok la kot kang.

Tomorrow my time out ends sebab nak start beli barang-barang yang diperlukan. So one day for that. Malam lak ada mini personal production party hosted by Irwan for the team, trainers and kids, so that should be fun and a nice end to the day.

Korang usha je pics kang lah.

By the way, a little info for peminat Akim - malam tadi dia masuk studio tuk rakaman Bengang. No pics or anything sebab aku tak gi.

Tuesday ada launch Anak Wayang, so expect me and Faz to go cam-whoring. Sapa yang nak sangat pics terbaru Faz, tunggu jerk la for that. Heh... and yer, aku tau sapa yang ikut Faz on her personal blog yang aku started out, tau yang lom ada updates. Sabar ek.. da marah dia da. Heh! Sibuk takde masa... tapi she will start blogging when Anak Wayang starts so kira korang leh tengok how things are more or less going on behind the scenes kang.

So what did I do today? Nothing much, except belah malam keluar ngan member nak jumpa sorang kawan kat Ampang atas urusan sikit.

Spent the remainder of my waking hours layan some favourite stuff online.

For sapa yang ikut series Weeds, keep an eye out for the fifth season!!! It will premiere on Showtime on June 8! Tak sabar nak torrent. Me hooked on Weeds (er... the series...) Apart from Idol (which was only so-so this year after the exciting audition episodes), America's Next Top Model (preferred the last few seasons cause Cycle 12 had the most boring lot), Heroes (tak sabar next volume), Weeds is my one guilty pleasure.

Check out the preview of Season 5 which was uploaded just two days ago.

And oh my Lord... for everyone out there, who knows who Susan Boyle is, they announced her in the final for Britain's Got Talent! You go Susan! This was her performance.

And if you have no idea who Susan Boyle is... something is seriously wrong! Check out this clip from the Oprah show to get the lowdown in case you just came off a desert island after being there at least for the last month.

Ok... going off to finish a book. Getting too much radiation from facing my laptop for so long. Ciao.

PS - Downloading the supposed leaked Transformers 2 : Revenge of the Fallen. Hope it's the real thing. Can't wait to watch it. Trailer looks good! Devastator!!!

Transformers is awesome!!!!

After the horror that was Harry Potter, aku didn't have any high hopes for Transformers. Lagikpon sebab aku memang da follow development of the movie from the start masa meka wat pre production, aku tak impress langsung how meka ubah banyak designs.

Yerlah... Megatron looked nothing like the original, Optimus Prime was just so gay with his new design, and bloody hell, Bumblebee was not even a Volkswagon sebab they couldn't get the rights to use the Beetle.

But after watching it... I have to say it was just fabulously awesome! Definitely THE movie of the summer.

The plot was a little shaky, and I didn't like the idea of how the cube was the focus and what it did, or how Megatron had come to Earth eons before, only to be trapped in ice, etc. Even how they took on the form of the vehicles was dodgy (tengok skali, scan dan leh transform into it...totally whacked - so sacrilegeous that Michael Bay should be shot!!!)

Tapi the visuals made up for everything that I could have bitched about the movie. The CGI was just awesome! And I think selain Pirates of the Carribean, Transformers is one of the few movies that put special effects to good use without overdoing it.

Twenty two feet tall robots fighting it out on the streets, and not overdose of effects? I know it sound silly, but they made it look good.

The idiot who played Sam is as irritating as ever from his Nickelodeon days, tapi aku didn't even get put off by him.

In fact there were quite a few impressive scenes. More than a few really. All the sequences with the Transformers was awesome.

But a cute scene that deserves a mention is bab meka perli VW ngan tunjuk masa car dealer tuh nak jual the Beetle over the Camaro which was Bumblebee and dia leh ketuk VW tuh. I bet Volkswagon is pissed as hell.

A throwback to the cartoon was when Megatron marah Starscreen bab failing him, so every episode of the weekly cartoons.

Erm... but cool as al hell. Wish they'd had Soundwave... that would have been really cool.
Overall, this movie has a crap plot, but again the action sequences are AWESOME!!! So amzing in fact, I'll be going for another time to catch it again sebab memang meletop.

Perhaps aku lebih review dari segi nostalgia, because that's why I love the Transformers.. because I watched it religiously growing up.

Still.. I think even if I hadn't known about the cartoon, I would still appreciate the movie. More in fact... sebab aku seem to have hang-ups sebab know it too well da..

Oh well.. watch the movie and determine if for yourself.

If there is only one movie you could watch over the next few months.. this would be IT!!!

A blockbuster like how they used to make it. Even though it costs less than half the price tag of Pirates, tapi ko takkan perasan that their budget is only US$150 million (tuk meka sikit ler tuh).
Ok...nak sign off to play with my Optimus Prime voice changer helmet... (cam sial gi Toys 'R Us pastuh sold out lak toys dia....laku sangat!!!)

Optimus Prime!

Been meaning to get this since I saw it at Toys 'R Us a few days ago. Was deliberating patut ke tak beli nih. Aku minat sangat toys ni...so pikir punya pikir... and guess what...

I GOT IT!!!A shopaholic and a toy freak never says no!!! Semalam aku ke MidValley and after much thought (yerlah tuh!!!) I decided to get the Optimus Prime voice changer. Matilah leh sarung pakai sebagai helmet kalao takde time nak naik motor!

Kalao kena tahan polis buat je sora Optimus mesti dia pengsan.

Heh... RM169.90 and a few hours of amusement, I'm waiting for them to come out with more! Megatron maybe... kalao tak, at least an outfit to match the head so leh pakai full set masa premiere Transformers! Keji tak?

Apapon, the first set of pictures aku amik dari Hasbro punya site which has a catalogue of the movie merchandise toys while the second set is the one I bought.

A little colour difference though I think it's a case of lighting. And of course kotak aku nya tuh ala rabak sikit sebab impatient nak bukak kan...

Heh...

Tapi yang penting.. sapa cadang nak beli. TOUGH LUCK!

Semalam aku beli just before he store closed, dak salesgirl tuh cakap ngan aku they're going to take ALL the Transformers toys off the shelf as of today!

Kisahnya, for some reason, the toys can't go on sale UNTIL the movie is shown. so to avoid any legal action, they are taking the toys off.

So kira aku la last person nak beli sehingga they show the movie.

Ok la...saja nak post tuh...more later... Just nak end with this picture from Vern (nak lebih go to his blog) yang from an event I couldn't attend this fashonista event last night sebab sibuk (sibuk keja ok...bukan sibuk beli toy lak... aku pas keja rush gi beli voice changer tuh)

The star of the event yang grabbed everyone's attention.

This is to the most beautiful, though a little sad looking (no prizes for guessing why) person of the night there as agreed by all the stars and EVERYONE present.

Presenting...

Sharifah Amani Syed Zainal Rashid.

Transformers : More than meets the eye!

This is an update. For those who remember Seha yang dulu ngan Freedom, she passed away earlier this morning after losing the fight to cancer.

Say a little prayer for her, and to Muslims, sila sedekahkan al-Fatihah ok...

She was a lovely woman. I met her for the first time sometime in early 1996 I think masa dia handle organisation for the Press tuk Anugerah Industri Muzik.

I met her again a few years later after the landslide kat Bukit Antarabangsa and interviewed her because she was staying there at the foot of the Antheneum condo.

Had a laugh.... she's riot when when's in her element.

Seha... you will be missed. You're one of the few who has contributed much to the local music industry, and you live on in our hearts.

Sorry aku tanak wat posting baru tuk ni, cause I don't want to say too much about it... but things like this sadden me...

You guys have heard me go on about my obsession for retro cartoons kan? (matilah OCD!)

Anyway, aku lupa nak cakap... if you remember... Transformers...well, they're making a live action movie, and it's due out next year.

I've been checking it out non-stop on the web. Not a lot of people seem to know for some reason... the hype hasn't been all that great, and a lot of my friends sendiri tatau masa aku ask whether they're looking forward to it.

Me? I am so stoked about it, tapi aku kecewa sikit, like a lot of fans sebab I have seen some of the production stills and I think most of the designs are crappy if you were a fan of the cartoon 20 years ago.

Kalau baru minat lain ler... suka kot.

Tapi aku nak that sense of originality. Already fans everywhere have echoed that Michael Bay and his team are hardly fans, the way they've treated the Transformers theme with such disrespect.

Apparently Volkswagon tanak bagi permission nak pakai design meka, so Bumblebee daripada VW... skang akan transform jadik... Camaro! Aiyak! Tak kena tol... that's not even the character of Bumblebee.

I mean it doesn't look too bad... tapi despite whatever amount of compensation they have to make for the translation, they should try and remain true to the original.

Entahlah... I think it looks decent, but it's just not the same...

Don't they understand anything?

Optimus Prime is now a snout nosed rig, rather than that traditional form we've come to know him, and some fans have gone as far as to call him a gay version that has had his ride pimped.

Lum agik Megatron yang tak ikut langsung design generation one.

Aduh... I waited years for the live action movie to come about... and this is how it's going to look ker?

Here are some pics on the web yang basically shows what the new live action Transformers is going to look like.

My favourite Autobot memang nampak cam kena lak Pimp My Ride. Aiyak.... tak selawa ler. The beauty of the first generation of Transformers was the sheer simplicity and fluidity of the designs.

Ni cam kalau leh nampak cam like some metallic version of Spawn jer.

Tak besh ler camni.

Tengok the live version that they shot with. Tell me if that looks even REMOTELY like

Optimus Prime that we all know and love.

It's like a 70s pimp hustler wannabe makeover saja.

But if you think that's bad, then you have to check out the links below for some of the other designs, which are positively HIDEOUS!

I don't know where to start.

Blackout, Jazz... they all look bad from the prototypes.. the initial designs... and judging from some of the on location shoots, not much was made to actually take into account the views of disgruntled fans.

Take a look at what I mean with the sketches of Megatron!

More like Alien vs Predator lak.

Busuk!!!

Apapun, it should be pretty great, though as a fan of the original series I will be disappointed, because if the trailer teaser is anything to go by... hopefully it won't just be a CGI fest.

From the clips of the shooting of the live action effects in downtown Detroit, nampak cam just any other action movie.

Don't know ler.
