Melbourne Part 1

Over the National Day and Hari Raya, I spent time in Melbourne. Atas dasar keja ma... tapi kira best gak sebab I've never been to Melbourne before. Well, actually, I've never been to any part of Australia before...

And it's been so long since I had a long flight, memang jenuh gak la. But finally, after a quick rush to the airport sebab jam gila babiks, and then sesak lak sebab semua orang rushing balik kampung beberapa hari sebelom time nak Raya - packed myself in layan movie on flight ngan my Blackberry Playbook. HD ye... so lagik puas.

Bila finally sampai memang kebulur. Why? Sebab Air Asia X memang bangang. Leh tak tak cukup meals? Leh pastu dia sindir kenapa tak booking meals online. Eh kimak... da organizer booking... kalao ikut aku bukan je booking meal, aku booking MAS terus ye.

Tapi bila sampai in the morning, memang rush gi breakfast. First stop - Queen Victoria Market.

Mak aih... kenapa perut aku nampak besar semacam dalam gambar ni. Lahanat! After a quick breakfast, checked in to the Grand Mercure in Docklands. New area, awesome view of the harbour and of Etihad Stadium. Meletup!

Ni Felixia wat apa pon aku tatau. Campak beg dalam bilik aku pastu korak carik charger kot. We set out nak jalan sket when I saw this place - Witches and Bitches. Apparently, it's like a themed theatre restaurant. Rupanya kat Melbourne ni, ada beberapa tempat camni. Persembahan ala cabaret tapi bertema.

We went to Chilli Padi. It's a Malaysian restaurant, and the owner is Penangite. Makan skali da tau! Yummy gak, tapi kelakar gak la makanan kami yang we take for granted da serve tahap fine dining ni. Tapi fusion dia menjadik and sedap!

If you're in Melbourne, do check out Chilli Padi. Nice place tucked away. Upstairs has an outdoor smoking area (kat Melbourne ni asalkan indoor takleh isap rokok - keji sket).

Then we headed to billboard club, near Chinatown. Kengkawan ada show malam Merdeka, so rehearsal bagai. Jap.. nak snap kat club ni, side by side ada breathalyzer (dulu KL merata ada skang da cam tak nampak sangat) bersebelahan ATM. Aku suka ada ATM merata sini - senang idop!

Ni some shots of Russell Street where Billboard is located. Ni kira masuk kawasan Chinatown. Sejuk wei time ni, tapi time ni aku snap pics sebab nak upload kat Twitter. Mana taknya, sini prepaid susah nak cari - apa agik kalao Blackberry sebab ramai sini pakai iPhone (memang keji!). So harapkan wifi merata (yang juga kekurangan bukan cam KL, kalau ada pon lock kerana meka amat kedekut). Ni aku curi wifi dari Hungry Jack update Twitter time tu, so dok luar isap rokok (sebab dalam disco pon susah nak isap rokok... cipet tol). Beku aku dalam sejuk!

Ni ada sex shop dekat ngan billboard. Twisted Toys! I like! Tapi time ni tak masuk usha.

Ni la Hungry Jack's yang aku dok curi wifi. Perasan tak sama cam Burger King sebijik. Rupanya memang Burger King takde sini, memang Hungry Jack's. Tatau la satu syarikat kot. Nama je tukar.

We finished quite late in the evening. Semua da letih.. si Felixia dan Namewee da dozing off je keja.

Oops.. jap further down Russell Street... cantik wei Louis Vuitton sini. Actually kedai sini banyak cantik sebab bangunan dia. Dia samada bangunan lama yang terpelihara - atau bangunan moden yang glass and steel.

Bukan cam KL selagi ada bangunan lama nak renovate letak lampu lip lap jadi kedai tom yam (contoh : Melaka... merata lampu lip lap.. memang tu la kedai tomyam terbesar)

Pas freshen up, malam kita keluar balik. To head to a gathering at the Malaysia House nak celebrate Raya makan-makan ngan warga Malaysia di Melbourne. Kak Adibah Noor baru sampai join kami.

Ni si Cherry dan Nadine Ann Thomas naik skali ngan aku. Muka masing-masing serious letih tapi semangat.

And for the first time in a long time, sambut Merdeka dalam club. Goldfish and Blink main kat billboard selain performance kengkawan lain. Kita countdown, sama time ngan Malaysia (sebab beza tiga jam, KL tengah malam kami sambut Merdeka jam 3 pagi! Matilah....

Ok next entry sambung pasal Melbourne agik...

OS7

The plus side about being a dedicated follower of certain brands, I get to be the first in the know.

For example, being a Gucci lover, I get info from everywhere on sales, items with huge discounts and so on.

When it comes to Blackberry, my brand loyalty too is always rewarded. I always get first look at everything Blackberry, which I am thankful to the lovely people at RIM for.

After getting to preview the Blackberry Playbook at the same time as the previews were held all over the world, it was the same for the new range of Blackberry OS7 smartphones.

If you are following me on Twitter, you would have been the first to be updated on everything about the new range of OS7 phones. Won't say much, especially since the phones have been in the market for a month now - so just pictures and more pictures.

I got to try everything, but I am so loving the Blackberry 9900 (no you do not call it the Bold 4 - that doesn't exist). And also the Torch 9860. Still waiting for my Blackberry 9900 to be delivered though..

But meeting the bosses from RIM and Blackberry, I got a surprise present seeing how I put my Blackberry Playbook to good use. I got a genuine leather case for it - it's a Brooklyn Museum case. Kaler cam Hermes sungguh... mula-mula dapat yang orange, I changed it for a more subtle blue.

Oh by the way - I love the Blackberry 9900 for this. Wikitude. Can you say stalker? On app, tembak je orang tu nampak segala Twitter bagai. Takyah nak tegur tuk berkenalan da ye...

So got to show off... though pening kalao betul all four phones memang milik aku. Oh goodness, I really am turning into a tech geek.

Ni compare Blackberry 9780 with the 9900. The 9900 is similar in size to the 9000 obviously, tapi slimmer and lighter.

Damn... what a world we live in. Phones pun sampai variety da pening bagai... memacam nak pilih. But like they say... once you go Black(berry), you never go back!

So I pledge my allegiance to Blackberry. No iShit or iWhatever. Sorry Apple fanboys and girls. My other flirtation however begins now with another brand. Wait for that in another entry...

Little pleasures...

I have little guilty pleasures. Like everyone else. Kekadang kerja cam sial tak cukup tidur bagai, sampai tiga empat hari survive on average of four hours (just before bulan puasa I was on a project where I had to do that for a week.. lemah dowh!)

So usually tiap bulan dapat gaji, I make sure aku amik satu hari dok layan movie sorang (tu yang kekadang aku tweet movie marathon bagai) and gi makan apa aku nak. Kira manjakan diri aa... manicure pedicure ke, massage ke... janji ada something yang dapat rasa hasil usaha. Dari abih bayar bil kang tak sempat rasa, the more mundane stuff da abihkan wang yang diterima.

One of my biggest problems obviously - is shopping. I am a shopaholic. I have been controlling myself and getting better at it. But I still occasional fail.

Case in point...

I love Gucci. And I love my Blackberry. So what better gift for myself than a Gucci Blackberry case.

Tapi dalam nak beli tu memang bodoh! Harga case ni RM580 - kira limited edition Audi 500 series for Gucci. Tapi aku actually kisahnya pegi kedai nak exchange kasut. Sebab kakak aku belikan a pair of Gucci loafers for me for my birthday.

Nak dijadikan cita aku cukup muat je, one size bigger baru selesa. Lagipun, aku da bersepah kasut Gucci pattern loafers ni. So cam rugi. So kakak aku pon kata ok, gi tukar. Kasut belikan - RM1480. Sebagai ganti, aku pilih ni.

Harga RM1410. So beza RM70. Dan jumlah tu dijadikan alasan tanak rugi duit kakak aku, so aku top up RM510 beli the cover. Sial tak alasan? Justifikasi tidak logik sungguh - tapi memang tak rugi sebab firstly it's limited, secondly memang useful and thirdly matching wallet aku dan one of my bags (read below).

Moving on...

Aku nampak bag ni jatuh cinta! Bebudak Gucci Pavilion keji pancing aku sebab tau aku akan suka. Memang stok bag yang da la lawa, leh sumbat segala gadget aku. Don't believe me? Think laptop, three handphones, wallet, my Blackberry Playbook, various chargers, car keys... tu yang wajib je yang aku slalu bawak. Lom agik benda lain.

Sumpah besar gedabak bag ni. Empat laptop leh muat masih ada ruang agi. Kira beg lari umah la ni... tapi kalao ada beg camni tak lari umah kot. I spotted this aku memang tempted gila. Tapi walaupun 40% discount tak silap aku, harga masih lebih RM6,000 so terpikir bebanyak kali. Dah lah only one left... aduh...

Then layan the rest of the Audi 500 collection. FUCK! I love the whole collection. Especially the backpack!... and the luggage... and the duffel... nangis la camni. Kalau nak satu set mau nya harga keta da all in.

But ta-da!!! Amik ko... I got the duffel bag!

Well, actually I didn't get it. Someone got it for me for my birthday present. So sweet kan? Takyah sebut sapa sini, tapi janji aku dapat beberapa ari sebelom nak ke Melbourne ada keja - so apa agik. Sebab aku jenis travel light, ideal gila la.

Of course not to mention that it matches some of my other Gucci stuff too.

Ah... money can't buy happiness... but it sure can afford my attention. Matilah!

Again?

I know you guys are probably bored of Angry Birds. Well, at least I am by now. Tapi that hasn't stopped me from continuing to waste more money buying crap stuff like this. Aduh.. penangan Angry Birds terlalu hebat!

So this is definitely the last entry EVER, as I clear my stock of stuff in the past few months that have occupied my life.

I have so many keychains, so I don't know what possessed me to get these two that day after a random jalan-jalan session kat sebuah mall.

This however came into good use. Since I quite occasionally travel, this is always handy. But you have to be a loud, shameless character to wear this in public - even if you're going to sleep, because I wore this on the flight, the cabin crew were giggling and immediately identified me as an Angry Bird fan.

For those who need folders, this is very nice. I like this collection. Beli banyak-banyak, bagi kawan-kawan...

And you might always get hot, kan?

Or get a cut... yeap... these are plasters. Packaging macam-macam, tapi plaster dia sama je, cuma warna je berbeza-beza sikit.

Going back to fans - kalau panas malas kipas ngan tangan, ni battery operated nya version. Matilah memacam ada...

Oklah.. mengarut je update pasal Angry Birds je. Well, while I still like Angry Birds, aku da tak fanatik cam dulu, so rest assured this is the last posting on any sort of Angry Bird merchandise.

Touch ups

Of course, I'm still continuing my effort to update my blog, so don't worry if you see it a little empty for a while. Dalam lebih tujuh tahun da blog ni, my blog has gone through several changes, and this is one time that aku nak fine tune my whole blog layout.

Of course, there are several considerations. First of all, ever since I took on this blog skin, I've had the colour scheme changed to something that seems to be a favourite choice - which is my combination of red, black and white (with occasional grays).

I got rid of a lot of stuff last time, making it lighter, easier to load, and nicer to view on a mobile, for those of you who may come in on your smartphones.

And of course my background has changed. To cater to that geekier tech-toy and gadget side of me. Yes... I care more than just for my Guccis.

Why the chosen background? Becaus I am advocating Blackberry - my all time favourite, and a new love for.. Android! And my choice, obviously, as a music lover is the to be released HTC Sensation XE.

On the Blackberry Bold 9900 - I'm not using it yet, but waiting to take delivery of the phone, but since I was one of the first in Malaysia to preview it and get to play with it, I'm convinced it's the phone for me.

And knowing me, I've had FOUR lines before sebelum ni, and now I'm down to two phones, so my second had to be upgraded from the shitty Nokia I was using. Didn't make sense to use another Blackberry, so I was looking for something else. And no iPhones, because I am an iPhone hater... everyone knows that. Why? Simply because I think iPhones are overglorified, overhyped toys for retarded 13 year-olds (personal opinion here).

My virgin attempt at the HTC Sensation XE (and being the first few Malaysians to actually be using it before it hits the shelves) - left me amazed. With Beats Audio technology, it's the phone for me. Of course it didn't hurt that it came with the Beats earphones AND the Android platform left me downloading stuff day and night. Nice!

So that explains the whole layout.

More updates coming for sure. Happy I finally tweaked my blog to how I like it... so now, let the show begin!

PS - I've removed the chat box. Simply because I find it irrelevant in this day and age when Twitter has taken over for real time discussions. After all the chat script doesn't show on mobile phones, and that renders it useless in most parts simply because most of us go online more often on phones. If you're desktop and you're discouraged by this, simply start a Twitter account. Semua da ada takkan tanak kot... ish ish ish.
