Anugerah Era - Part 1

So actually woke up today dah kat Genting Highlands. As planned, semalam pas cucuk langit jap, aku terus gerak naik. By the time I got there, it was about 4 in the morning.

Nak gerak terus ke First World Hotel, hotel konsep bilik Chow Kit yang bery the budget hotel. Dah tuh yang ada bilik tuk dua malam yang disediakan.

On the way naik, si kak Shida call kata nak jumpa. Da berapa kali dia call, tapi masa naik tuh, dia sound serious jer. Dari kebosanan sebab takde geng kat atas tuh, dia bunyi cam horror. Mana taknya. Kerana lepak ngan Vern dan Azmi punya pasal, dan meka horror kan dia cita memacam cita seram, dia da tamau tido. Cam kesial...

So last aku dan Boo Boo sampai ke menyimpang ke Theme Park Hotel jumpa dia.

Lepak jap then checked in dan tido... sedar sedar da tengahari.

Member ramai lom naik agik time tuh.so jalan jalan ngan Boo Boo around First World. Jumpa kak Shida and later joined by Azmi. Budget nak masuk Van Helsing Live! tuh tapi sebab RM25, thought better of it. Si Shida pon smalam takot pree... heh!

By the time got back to the room it was almost 4pm, so start ler mandi tukar baju semua. An hour later or so, kol 5 lebih da sampai balik Theme Park Hotel tuk nak check in tengok persiapan Nikki.

Sampai sana chaotic lak di minta orang ni tuk tolong carikkan subang sebab someone forgot earrings to Nikki punya emsemble.So traipsed back to First World Hotel, ke Times Square sana nak carik ler.

While everyone opted for huge chunky earrings, Jovian thought less is more, so finally got a pair that met his specifications and walked back again to Theme Park Hotel.

Lenguh siot kaki!!!! Rasa kebas da smacam jalan hulu hilir je keja. Still, since missed dinner, nasib la kan. Ala ala Mastercard ad.

Lepak punya lepak... it was time to move in. Kena la lalu green carpet (that was just weird). So ikot ler belakang si Nikki sambil-sambil pastikan dia tak trip over baju dia.
Haiyo... pening. Ramainya orang. There goes my claustrophobia acting up again.I hate crowds. I get so agitated.
Anyway, masuk je, pusing pusing carik seat aku. Memula dok kat arena tuh (thanks Iza and Hani) somewhere third or fourth row from the back, tapi kira near the middle so ok ler. Good view.
Sebelom start event, aku digerakkan to a better seat. Fourth row from the front. Sebab ada dalam setengah jam sebelom event nak start, lari kuar sat gi isap rokok. Besh nya sejuk sejuk ni. Ujan lak time tuh. Sempat ler berkompol kat luar ngan kaki perokok semua yang disisih masyarakat (us smokers are so underprivileged and a discriminated lot!). When I got back in baru perasan the stage.
Entah kenapa, walaopon the whole set-up was quite clean, I just felt takde kena mengena ngan tema set design dia. Erm... whateverlah.
Looked around, found more friends sitting nearby, so since had time to kill, popped about for more picture taking and gossiping. Alamak... banyak nyer info memacam dapat ni time anyam ketupat nak mengisi masa lapang... erm masa terluang.
Fired up my laptop dan wat keja. Event masih lom start after I did some stuff, so got up again and again started merentas desa. Whipped out my phone and started again to take pictures. Selain tuh kena balas membalas SMS kengkawan yang suddenly semua choose that time nak message. Hish... layan.
Anyway, these are some of the pics aku amik masa time tengah sesi meramas mesra... eh beramah mesra sambil nak layan kebosanan sebelom event nak start. Some of the pics aku amik tak clear sangat, so sapa nak bising, pastikan ko follow-up ngan offer nak sponsor mobile phone yang leh amik pic cantik agik ok. Heh...
Shopaholic tak mampu beli camera phone baru dan tak larat sebab aku ni heavy duty sikit ngan phone aku. Pas enam bulan memacam kejadian da jadik sampai kamera yang cukup makan pon da meragam da, And yes, people, you don't have to wait for my next birthday or Christmas for that. I accept gifts anytime!

Yerlah awal awal ada, tapi time anugerah takde. Mawi dan abang Wan pon da aal awal bgagitau. Actually dia ada booking show, kat PWTC tak silap yang a empat bulan confirm. So bila Anugerah Era set date dua bulan lepas ke haper, meka da takleh tuko tarikh ke cancel show.

So Mawi popped by, tu pun sampai dalam kol 5 lebih tak silap aku. After the first show, commercial break sebelom pengumuman anugerah pertama which he won of course, dia da gerak nak rush turun balik KL tuk show.

Erm... anyway didn't enjoy the show much. Ok ok jer. Nothing spectacular. Not the worst but not the best Anugerah Era. Malas nak ulas.

For me, the vocally enjoyable malam semalam was Anuar Zain, Dayang Nurfaizah and Nikki. The only real outstanding performance for me was Akhbar dan Tukang Kata on Manusia Lupa. Si Tukang Kata tuh nangis sebab emo hayati lirik ok... aku moved by his performance,... seriously!

So what did I do? Well, a lot of things. Time Kristal perform aku kuar Arena sat gi vending machine beli Coke sebab needed my sugar rush. Heh...

Owh... and kaco Ebi sebab dia dok depan aku kita sok sek pasal gosip dia ngan Mila? Jawapannya? Cam lar korang takleh figure out.

Eh... eh... siapa tu? Alamak Mila rupanya. Jeling aku ke Ebi? Heh!

Suka tak pic ni? Masa tengah show sempat berusik lagik. Erm... Mila dok one row in front to the right... to the right. Sempat snap pic ni dia jeling bila aku dok ngumpat dia ngan Ebi. Semoga bahagia... erm... I mean semoga settle gosip bukan bukan ni yer... matilah aku pasni kena carut.

By the time show da abih, the scenario was just chaotic. So lepak sat before I noticed this outfit. Hah.. kalao selalu orang nak diamond lebih lebih, ni dia. Diamond paling besau malam Anugerah Era. Orang soka sangat kan batu batu gedabak nih, so there's the biggest which you must have noticed semalam.

The honour goes to none other than... Dayang Nurfaizah.

The diamond aku referring to kat waist band dia, yang ala ala belt tuh. Mak aih... tu berapa carat tuh Dayang. Heh.. merasa la ko Sinma dan Chamelon pon tak jual camtuh yer baikpon Bonita.

Tapi cantik sungguh. Aku siap leh gunakan belt tuh sebagai cermin!

I think Dayang was one of the better dressed ones last night. Baju Ning ala puteri Jawa pon meletop gak. Ella was fine too, though baju tu tak kena ngan dia. Kalau pakaikan kat yang tinggi cam Nasha lebih sesuai due to the length of the kain. But still, she looked awesome... aku tak sempat tengok close up baju Siti Nurhaliza so takleh judge. Erm sapa lagik ek.

Entahlar mungkin sebab tema tak unik dan tak begitu memberangsangkan aku rasa the scope of creativity pon limited because contemporary traditional wear is so overdone that there really is no place to go anymore with it. Hope that tahun depan meka ada lar tema tema lagik unik sikit so people can actually come up with more than just a kebaya top couple with pants or skirt sebab banyak sangat look yang sama, through no fault of the designers or artists.

Reverse sikit balik... ni batu yang besau entah dilombong kat mana (cam real diamond lak cara aku cakap) yang kat baju Dayang.

Sapa nak, sila tanya Dayang mana nak tempah ek. Not available in Wah Chan, Poh Kong or Habib Jewels gituh.



Snap happy while waiting for the line to move and when it finally did, boy, was it slow. Semua artists dan kengkawan bundled in to one bus to Genting Hotel for the post party, or better known as makan makan dan joget lambak.

Speaking of joget lambak, masa tunggu bad tuh, realised that I was in East Malaysia suddenly!!!

Merasalah ada fungsi Unity Band yang handed out tuh (lom pakai aku nya lagik).

Sebab baru perasan, apart from Nikki and Yanie, Bob sekali ngan PA dia Shuib as well as Adam and his Sabahan posse pun join up. Aiyo... suddenly I'm in in the Bumi Kenyalang Bawah Bayu (new tagline for Visit East Malaysia Year). Sempat sembang ngan Adam.

Bangga gak ngan dia sebab dia banyak improve. Vocally he has never been much, tapi semalam ngan menari, dia da more impressive ngan vocals dia. Da masuk third year, Adam is one of those from musim kedua punya Akademi Fantasia family yang mendadak improvement. Although he's not as strong as a few of the others in that department, you have to give credit to the boy for working hard to better himself.

Sebab kebulur, melahap ler dulu when we reached the post party. After satisfying my need to be fed, mingled sat. Nak amik pics ampir semua aku da snap (yang worth snapping lar) so tak amik pic sangat.

Ella jer aku amik sebab dia tukau baju an tak sembang ngan dia agik. Orang kampung aku, beb!!! Of course ler kena layan.
Hidup Telok Gadong, Klang!!! Matilah aku!!! Aduh! Rumah parents Ella belakang rumah lama aku jer dulu sebelom pindah. Leh?

Anyway caught up with her jap before melayang around the floor.

Siti tak show up (balik awal kot sebab Datuk K dok rumah sorang) so tak dapat amik pics dia.

Pas abih, and there was nothing else to do, layan dancefloor. Bebudak semua breakdancing for entah berapa lama put on free show.

Then it was free for all as everyone went crazy and partied the night away (for two hours at least)

It got weirder on the dancefloor by the second, so by the time Farhan led the dancefloor into line dancing, you know it was coming to an end.

Everyone had started moving back to their rooms, or moved on for their own little party or supper. Gerak with my bunch balik ke First World, joined by Farhan and her uncle.

Tired out gila, but sempat rehat dalam sejam sebelom kuar pas mandi and all for supper. Cuaca sejuk tu make it more bearable, but by the time I was done with my teh tarik, aku da takleh jalan da. Terhoyong hayang nak make my way back to the room. And when I finally made it back to the room, I was dead to the world in less than five minutes. Berat sangat pala...

Budget nak wat keja sikit sebelom tidur nak make Monday more easier tapi couldn't. Takper ler.. besok jer.

Right now... need sleep... sleep and more sleep. But all in all, I have to say, the actual event aside, Anugerah Era this year has been quite an eventful one and definitely one to remember.

PS - Yer... my last entry take note, aku tulis BERNIKAH tu salah ek! I meant BERTUNANG! Biasalah... kan masa tu kelam kabut wat entry, so tetiba aku leh type back to the future gituh. So yeap... that was my mistake. Heh... Erra and Emran are officially ENGAGED and not MARRIED... yet.

Congratulations Erra and Emran

This is a little bit of a rush posting. Just back from the office, and straight away shot back. I've got to pack sebab nak naik Genting malam ni gak lepak sana ngan kengkawan yang dok call ajak naik awal dari join the rest of the cattle (gituh!) hoist their asses up the hill.

So in between packing and all, I'm updating my blog, sebab jap agik nak jemput Boo Boo nak gi clubbing malam ni. Abih jer, nak shoot off to Genting and rest until the Anugerah Era tomorrow night. And yes, I will be updating from there.

Anyway, the more important thing is... congratulations Erra dan Emran sebab selamat bernikah petang tadik kat rumah Erra di Damansara.

Aku sampai about 4pm sebab meka da kata the ceremony start masa tuh. Unfortunately, meka bukan je tak ikut waktu Malaysia, meka ikut waktu Siam!!!

Kul 3.30pm meka da start da the ceremony, so by the time aku sampai meka da pon settle semua and everyone was busy taking care of pictures of Erra. Aku pon dok minum and chatted with several people including Emran. Honestly, aku tak kenal mamat ni sangat tapi respect sebab dia ni cool jer, no matter how much of a circus things can be. Apapon, thanks to Girl for this pic below... yang lain kalao korang nak tengok, hampir semua paper dan majalah mesti berlambak. So trying for some other different pics. Let's start with this of the happy couple.

Erra dan Emran sitting in a tree...

Yeap. So memang CONFIRM, Erra Fazira Wan Chek dan Engku Emran Engku Zainal Abidin akan bertunang esok, jam 4 petang di rumah Erra di Damansara.

It will a closed doors, privae family affair. Info yang diberitahu cuma adalah hantaran iaitu lima dulang berbalas tujuh.

Mereka akan berkahwin tahun ini juga walaopon tarikh belom ditetapkan. Kata Erra kuarga bagi tiga bulan tuk settlekan. Heh.. amik ko.

Anyway, ni some pics of the event semalam of Erra dan Emran together (I think they make quite a nice couple actually)

Emran smalam kurang bercakap. Dia ni media shy sikit, walaopon kalao bercakap memang leh. Dia ni nampak the strong silent type, jenis tak banyak cakap but in that silence appears quite wise. Erra obviously nampak happy lar smalam, which is a good thing for her.Ni lak ada video pendek, pesan Erra about her pertunangan tomorrow. What else can I say. Sorry ek guys, tak sempat amik Emran lak nak berucap. Dia ni kan pemalu. Heh...esok aku amik agik pics dan video of the majlis pertunangan.

Sebenarnya lambat sikit upload pics dan video ni sebab I stupidly forgot my USB cable nak transfer everything to my laptop. And after everything was over, banyak lak plan.

Jumpa Dia dan headed back rumahnya sebab nak settle something, but not before dinner. Pastu lepak ngan Dia and friends sampai Boo Boo abih rehearsal tuk pementasannya Sabtu ni.
So sorry guys for taking so long to update things. Anyway, if you're interested to know, the PC for Erra and Emran's annoucement was held at Tiffin Bay at Starhill yang located in the Bukit Bintang area.

It's located on the second floor (or they call it the Explore floor). Nice place.. so sementara Erra dan Emran's arrival, had a cuppa. The view? The new Pavilion yang dah didirikan the whole stretch which includes where the former Bukit Bintang Girls School used to be.

I have to say one thing about Tiffin Bay ni. Decor quite nice though simple. Don't care too much for the floral print sofas, but the lamps were something altogether. Ko tengok ler sendiri. Risau aku nak dekat.It was bloody teapots and teacups balanced on one another! Or so it seemed. Still, it created quite a freaky illusion and I had this phobia of going near them.

.Ok lar...nothing much to add. Besides, still really tired. Didn't have enough sleep yesterday. Kesian Boo Boo skali. Petang esok kena gi pertunangan Erra, pastu kalao tak lewat sangat, naik Genting terus. Awal sikit for the Anugerah Era, sebab nak beat the traffic going up the hill. Tunggu posting esok ek. I promise more pics.

Ya atau Tidak?

Ok since lama tak gossip, mai kita anyam ketupat. Bagi sapa yang minat Erra Fazira, esok ada press conference nak announce 'something'. Heh... konon biarlah rahsia sampai petang esok. Erm...

But I think there's hardly going to be anything surprising, and rumours which include meka akan bertunang Jumaat ini are going to prove quite true.

Apapon, mana tau ler kalao they decide to surprise everyone with something totally unexpected ker apa.

As usual, tomorrow's going to be a full day, and I don't know how I'm going to cope. It's a little tiring, these past few days, so I'm going to be so glad for the coming weekend walaopon terpaksa ke Genting Highlands tuk wat liputan Anugerah Era.

Apapon, aku flat out malam ni. Memang dari kol 8 malam da rasa nak koma da. By the time jumpa Boo Boo nak dating pon, aku really couldn't take it, and erm... midway through out 'date' of sorts, aku siap crash agik. I actually took a nap in the car for about half an hour. Tapi aku terjaga je, the first thing aku perasan was Boo Boo looking at me, while holding my hand.

Dia senyum je tengok aku jaga. Alamak... malunya.

Erm... as long as dia paham my lifestyle camna...

Tomorrow kena pop in the office awal nak hantar column, and then go for the Erra-Emran announcement, so there should be quite a few nice pics tomorrow.

Record breaker!

I thought it would be impossible, but I have broken my record of writing an article that exceeds the length of my usual rantings! Yes, I was really inspired... to b***h!

It was obviously on the Heroes gig, which I didn't want to yap how horrible it was, because I am after a Heroes fan. But I thought at the end of the day it was just crap that they had two meet the fans sessions, which lasted about 20 minutes in total spread out over four days.

And you thought the Heroes World Tour was supposed to be a fan event (apart from shameless promotion of the DVD box set of Volume One and also promotion for Season Two - Volume Two)
From the required no more than 2,000 words, I gasped in horror that I had ranted and raved for my article for a grand total of something like 4,793 words or something like that. Matilah aku!!!!!

Tried cutting it down, but didn't want to lose the essence of it. We have a saying in this business.

"When the going gets tough, the sub starts editing". Leh?

Busy busy busy... selain tuh, abih keja jer wat kali pertama, ada orang beriya nak dating sangat ngan aku. Sapa lagi kalao bukan my Boo-Boo tuh.

Erm... malas sebenarnya nak tulis. I don't know why but with the ton of work I have, with events piling up, and with sorting out my personal life (not to mention trying to make time to finish off the remaining Queer As Folk episodes)

So sorry guys, looks like the past few and the enxt onme or two entries are going to be very personal ones. Ujung minggu ni ada Anugerah ERA, so expect that at least to be fun.

I dread Mondays!

Yes.. another freakin' Monday. I move so slow at the beginning of the week. Dahlar aku bukan a morning person. Honestly just feel like staying in bed.

Oh well... too tired to blog, especially since I got a million things to do. Blog tomorrow.

Besides, I'm still trying to finish the remaining episodes of the five seasons of Queer As Folk.
It's my new form of theraphy. After this going to get started on The L Word, which is the lesbian version of Queer As Folk... sort of.


PS - My date here on known as Boo-Boo is totally amazing, and while I don't feel it's a love at first sight thing (plus I can't my mind off Dia still), I appreciate how hard Boo-Boo is trying to win me over.

Life... and TV

It's been a weird night. Initially aku spent the return of my trip to Singapore, pondering camna aku nak berdepan ngan Dia after the recent developments that left me... how would you say... f***ed!

Aku sayang dia... aku cintakan dia sangat. Dan aku tau Dia pon sayangkan aku sangat. Unfortunately... no thanks to the ways of the world, things didn't work out. Well, sometimes, someone feels for you, ju7st not as strongly as you do for them. And never, let me repeat NEVER fall for someone who you feel for more than he or she might feel for you.

So what happened? Erm... I got the words I hate the most. Aku abang angkat dia. A term which gets easily abused. Tapi ngan Dia, aku tau, every word of it, is from the heart. So it's not really bad. We're still close. In fact, aku orang dia paling dengar kalao ikutkan.

So why is it a little painful? A little hard to deal with...

Aku pun pening nak pikirkan camna nak berdepan ngan keadaan ini.

So what did I do? Something that a good friend of mine told me not to do. A marathon of Queer As Folk. Five seasons of it.

Isn't it strange that how a TV show can determine your life's direction. Already most of our problems are due to it, since the notion of love has been sculptured by everything we've ever seen.

You know, how magical love is, and how it takes that moment for things to happen... how you'll always have a happy ending and all. Silly right?

I'm one of those people who believe everything they watch. And I did. Every single word of it. Thinking life was going to be a fairytale. And how things will always work out.

So that's why, I felt really screwed at another failure in my life. As you can tell, I don't deal with failure too well. Another result of OCD.

But, strangely while my best friend told me not to watch the Queer As Folk series when depressed as it would make me feel worse than ever, I did. So typical of me to go against everything I'm told.

After a slight marathon, I felt...enlightened.Much difference from yesterday masa aku baru sampai balik dari Singapore aku jumpa Dia. Feeling tak betul, we didn't have a destination, so I drove up straight to Genting. We had a bite, wandered about and talked, in the cold, we hugged...and then we headed back to the reality that was awaiting us.

Today finally, I had a date. With someone I've been meaning to go out with time baru kenal Dia.

I kept putting it off, hoping for that one person to say yes, and for the same of that same person,

I loved Dia enough to move on not to complicated things further.

Tadi aku jumpa Dia ngan orang baru dalam kehidupan dia. It wasn't that hard though I thought it would be. Sebab Dia peluk aku dan cium pipi aku to let me know Dia akan selalu amik berat aku, dan perlukan aku.

And Dia start interrogating my date. "Kalau nak date abang aku kena interview ngan aku dulu". Dia actually said that to my date.

I laughed. And I meant it... it was beautiful. A beautiful moment. Because even though Dia bukan milik aku, at least Dia amik berat aku, enough to accompany my date and talk to my date tuk pastikan dia (my date) tak rasa kurang selesa with the weird situation since I had been honest about it (to my date I mean).

It was easier for me too especially when that person I just met, my date told me something I appreciate so much. Pelik kan...I've shut myself out from the world thinking it would never be the same and how it was so cruel, that I blinded myself to thinking that some things would never change.

In the end, I realised, things only happen if you want them to happen. So sometimes, life sucks. Deal with it. Shovel that shit out of the way and move on. That's always the best you can do.

Until you come to the next horrible patch of crap you're going to undoubtedly encounter.

So how are things? I don't know... we'll just let things go and see it happen. At the moment, however, I don't feel too bad because I'm surrounded people who love me. That's got to count for something, right? I have a feeling my life is experiencing a rebirth of sorts at the moment.

More Heroes

Ok, this posting comes a late compared to the previous one yang lajus je aku posting, walaopon ngan seribu satu typo dan sebagainya. Malas nak betulkan. Capture the moment gituh when you read it.

Anyways, after popped out for a spot of shopping along Orchard Road ( three bags - Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren and Guess, one towel, Giorgio Armani) and three bottles of perfume later (including another Versace to add to my collection), aku make my way along with my colleagues in Shuib dari New Straits Times and si Faizal dari Kosmo! to make way to the hotel nak gerak ke Vivo City.

We were told to gather at the lobby by 1.45pm. Our watches showed that it was 2.40pm. Erm... oops?

Kami memang cam malas nak gi pon mula mula sebab tak wajib kami hadirkan diri pun.

But in the end, after putting aside our shopping bags dalam bilik, kami pun gerak ke sana by cab memandangkan nak control kami shopping sakan.

The event pun scheduled start lambat by 3,30pm so we had lots of time... which was taken up by the horrendous traffic jam.

Arrived at Vivo City. Aiyo... amik ko!

It was bloody packed! I think more than 5,000 people were huddled together in the mall, to get a glimpse of Masi, Ali, Sendhil and of course, Greg.

Oh well, we made our way to the front.

Alamak... siap ada red carpet ok! Malu siot nak jalan... but tebalkan muka, dan clutch harder at my All Access pass and made my way to the front of the stage are.
Cripes!!!

Seriously, the number of people who turned up, I think signals the popularity of the show, which is nothing short of phenomenal.

We hung out, watched the same promo clips being played over and over again, as Samsons' For You, which is the theme of the Heroes World Tour 2007, the Asian leg Singapore stopover promo tune was played over and over again for a million times.

It was tiring waiting and to keep hearing the 'I hear they're here and will be joining us soon'.
In the ends, screams rang out which marked that the four of them dah pun sampai. Oh well.

Here we go.

Next on the popularity chart would be Greg, which is so right, considering he was the only one who seemed really genuinely excited about being there.

The funniest is one girl, who I think had the best idea, by drawing a dotted line on her forehead with a little scissors icon, and wrote below it, 'cut here', Hilarious!

Wow... just realised I posted that many pictures. Ok lar... it was fun, walaupon lasted about only 15 minutes. Ridiculous, considering some spent hours getting there, let alone camping out there to meet their favourites.

Holler out to my friends from my blog who flagged me down. Tak sangka you ladies leh come all the way kan. Sorry didn't have time to spend chatting with you girls. Another time ek! Kita jumpa lagik lain kali.

Headed back to the hotel, then popped out with a friend of mine. Headed to The Magic Hall and picked up some stuff.

Headed back to the hotel, and slept a little and just messed about.

Then got some news which just totally screwed me up. Oh well... despite being happy (sort of) the past few days, looks like I've hit another low. Don't understand it.... but my mood is so shot.

So spent the remaining few hours until sunrise packing my stuff and staring into space.

I so hate going back because of this, but at the same time, I can't stay here another minute longer being so far away. Talk about being f***ed up!

Oh well... que sera sera.
