Anticipation

Just a couple of pics from yesterday punya Karyawan forum. Malas mood nak amik pics, but since I haven't posted a pic of Dayang or Faizal in ages, saja nak letak. Respect both of these names for their talents, their musical products yang quality as well as their ability to think outside the box - something missing in a lot of local recording and performing artists today.

Faizal pose ala mug shot

Dayang rambut pendek da...

Thank you to everyone who left comments in the msjbox or in the Comments section. Your feedback is very much appreciated... aku tau ler leceh mana korang nak layan aku meroyan tuh yang panjang lebar. Walaupun takde la sampai longest entry ever like I said it would be.

Anyway, day before yesterday gi layan dinner ngan Faz tuk catch up. Ada ke jalan sampai nun jauh di Kota Damansara nak melantak. Mentang mentang la dekat ngan rumah dia.... sabar je.

Simple but yummy

Ezora nak belanja... seronok orang restoran layan dia lak

Dalam nak kurangkan and nak suppress selera makan sebab diet, banyak gak melantak. Thank you Faz kerana menjadi setan tuk cucuk aku lari diet sehari.

Aku skang memang cut down gila intake of food sebab nak jaga kesihatan sikit. Kang terok kang sapa gak yang susah... kan kan kan...

Heh... nak tengok tak apa daily drink aku skang.

Tuh dia! Vitagen, cam dari zaman skolah dulu. Aku minum biasa flavour LB, but spotted a new flavour they had. Matilah Vitagen skang... with COLLAGEN! And I thought muka aku da cukup da. Matilah carut diri sendiri.

Need some sleep. So tired. Been reprogramming my body the past couple of days by sleeping early (tak berjaya) and waking up early (yang nih berjaya tapi alamatnya tak cukup tido la).
Esok besh!!! Sebab dapat jumpa kawan kawan dari Indonesia! Siapa yer? Tunggu!

World peace!!!

Goddamn musical Nazis!

Yes, people! Let's start burning books! Or more accurately let's start burning foreign music albums. Sorry... statement emo. Saja je. Sebenarnya tak emo pun, tapi nak tunjuk kebodohan sesetengah pihak yang tunjuk belang betapa uneducated perangai meka walaupun nak orang hormat meka sangat.

So take note, this entry, yang akan panjang berjela, tidak akan mempunyai gambar artis ke haper, cuma luahan perasaan aku mengenai industri muzik negara kita.

I want the focus to be on the points after open forum Karyawan tadi yang talked about the memorandum meka nak hantar kat kementerian demanding the current quota of 60:40 of local content versus foreign, be changed to 90:10 for the sake of survival of the music industry.

So before we start, let's have the disclaimer.

So do I agree with the memorandum? Generally... yes. I want to see the survival of the music business here, and the rejuvenation of it so hopefully at some point, we bounce back to being the musical powerhouse we were decades ago.

But smalam, panas tul hati aku bila ada yang stok bodoh bangang ni yang besuara.

The issue : lagu luar.

Tapi tetiba ada yang sebut Indon maid la... dan sebagainya. I am a proud Malaysian. But I want to be proud of all things Malaysian, not by putting down others.

Here is a collection of some points that ran thorugh my mind, as well as 'tercirit' dari mulut aku about the whole Malaysia against the world (specifically Indonesia) when it comes to music.

DO WE HAVE ENOUGH MATERIAL?
Walaupun kita punyai ramai artis, to force 90% quota is almost worrying. Aku cakap ni sebab at the end of the day, it's for sure yang stok sampah yang tak layak on air pun sibuk nak promosi lagu memasing memeningkan kita.

With lesser competition among local artists, aku bayangkan yang sora sombang, lagu bosan dan production tahap rakam dalam bilik air pun leh masuk radio sebab nak cukupkan quota.

QUALITY?
Which brings us to issue of quality. Apa definition of what is quality. We have a lot of singers, who should most probably look for alternative employment, but they insist they have something to offer.

What is the far reaching impact of crap demanding air time now that there is more space to play with.

DEFINITION
What makes a song a lagu luar? The artist? Camtuh The Lima for one patut takleh kuar lagu la. Ke nak ikut definasi AIM yang meka yang sign to Malaysian label kira Malaysian?

Abih lagu yang ditulis komposer luar tapi sung by our artists? Sebab kalao ikut definasi atas yang di keluarkan AIM, not eligible gak. But tuh tuk competition and this is airplay. Still... amazing how rules can differ can without standards for this music industry...

The more rules, the more the definitions needed....so tiresome.

ENFORCEMENT
Skang pun quota 60:40 takde enforcement. Kat forum tadi ada yang bising pasal Hot FM yang main culprits dalam isu membanjiri market with and ramai yang bertepuk dan bersorak tanda menyokong.

Kalao benar ada radio station yang tidak mengikuti syarat ni, kenapa tak wat something to enforce it?

What is the difference? Baik enforce yang ada skang sebelum nak up kan quota lagik.

NO WAY OUT
Kenapa ramai bising, lupa lak yang station macam x-fresh meka pandang remeh sedangkan x-fresh mainkan 100% lagu Malaysia.

Sebenarnya meka nak yang bebetul ada 'coverage' in Era dan Hot.

But someone forgot why these stations naik in the first place. By giving their listeners what they want - which includes some popular Indonesian songs.

BLAME
Yang disebut lagu luar. Tapi ada malaun asik sebut lagu Indonesia, artis Indonesia.
I mean honestly. Kenapa asik nak salahkan Indonesians?

Dulu meka agungkan artis kita, sampai pihak berkuasa wat perangai sama cam sesetengah orang sini skang, nak kurangkan lagu Malaysia di radio Indonesia.

Tapi tetap Search dan Wings menjadi inspirasi ramai rockers masa tu di seberang.

They learnt. And grew.

Kira tak syok sendiri like some people here, and almost two decades later, kita da ketinggalan.
Pas ni nak salahkan sapa?

Singapore da mula masuk tapi takde yang bising? Ahli Fiqir, Imran Ajmain, Taufik batisah, Hady Mirza, Aliff Aziz.... Nak tunggu meka ni dominasi dulu baru nak kecoh?

GROWTH
Aku pelik kenapa orang cepat sangat salahkan especially muzik Indonesia. Kalao bukan kerana Indonesian bands opening the door to the more to appreciate another brand of rock selain rock kapak dan rock leleh, ada ke anak muda kita leh appreciate bands like Meet Uncle Hussein, Hujan or even Estranged, all of which cross over from the indie or underground scene.

Kids today learnt to appreciate another brand of rock thanks to these influences.

WHO LOSES?
Siapa yang rugi dalam bab nak main close market kita pada orang luar. Kang orang balas balik kat kita close up market kat kita camna?

Album pun takleh jual sini... A top artist dari negara kita leh jual something like 50,000 plus ngan heavy promotion and lots of hits. However when they take their product to Indonesia, they can sell about more than double there.

Sampai bila nak kita jadik juara kampung ni nak gaduh pasal market kita yang nan ado? nih?

WHO DO WE REALLY BLAME?
I would blame recording companies. Dulu masa kita ok, syarikat rakaman keluarkan memacam artis sampah yang nan ado sora atau bakat.

Then pastu malas lak. Tanak cari pembaharuan. Semua nak tiru format orang lain asalkan orang lain pernah berjaya.

Tu sebab ingat tak time Siti meletop, ramai lak klon yang muncul tetiba pasaran kita penuh ngan sora semua ala ala Siti jerk.

Hasil perangai meka sendiri, skang nak raung akibatnya.

RELEVANCE
The problem with this industry is ramai yang syok sendiri. Aku salute dan respect setiap orang dalam industri ni because everyone ada sumbang something to the growth and development of it.

But without naming names. Kalao muzik seseorang tu, 20 tahun tak berubah, pastu kalao orang nak beli nak marah lak kata orang tak menghargai.

Dude! Kalao Elvis was alive pun silap silap dia pun da wat hip hop!

So the bottomline is some artists da tak relevan masih nak demand tempat di hati peminat. Justify it, bitches!

Aku respect people like Siti Nurhaliza, M. Nasir yang evolve dan berubah mengikut peredaran zaman walaupun maintain pendirian meka, as well as their sound and flavour.

WILL THE 90:10 HELP OUR INDUSTRY?
I doubt it. Radio menentukan ke trends? Some people think so. Tapi how many songs do you know yang play over again yang ko suka, tapi kena repeat sampai rasa telinga nak melecet (leh ker?)

You know what I mean. Played to death sebab hit sangat kononnnya.

Lagikpon, aku tau ada artis yang lagu berapa ketul yang hit abih punya lagu, tapi jualan album nan ado!

CHANGE
I think a lot has to do about attitude. Ramai orang dalam industri kita emotional dan bising tak abih abih. Tapi usaha tetap takde.

What was the last CD you bought of a local artist? How many do you have in your collection?
Think about it.

Aku kalao bebetul koleksi lama aku ada banyak. Ella, Sheila Majid, Ning Baizura, Ekamatra, BPR, Febians dan sebagainya.

The current batch? Malas nak sebut tapi a handful yang aku sanggup kuar duit sendiri je.

DICTATORSHIP
So what happens when orang nak paksa korang dengar apa meka nak ko dengar?
Will you layan anyway? Or will you change the station atau layan medium lain saja tuk dapat apa ko nak?

WHO GAINS
Siapa yang untung dari hal ni. Meka yang gain dari royalties from airplay la. Dalam kes ni, sure a few people will make more money. But will it benefit people in this business as of whole?
Entahlah...

PROFESSIONALISM
Kenapa la fokus tak lebih pada being professional in this field?
Sini, artis dieksplotasi cam sial... kesian lak tengok. Ko tengok la sana sini show free... tour tuh ni la.. by radio stations, TV stations, papers dan sebagainya.

Artis dibayar murah atas dasar promosi.

Tapi ikut jer takot kena gam.

Masa tu tak bising lak nak bersuara hak artis. Kalao nak lawan 'orang luar'; berani lak bersuara.

Artis kita banyak yang takut nak fight for anything atas dasar, 'let someone else fight for it'.
So many issues, and they pick the one that perhaps, should not exactly be a priority with perhaps the least results.

BUSINESS
Cakap punya cakap, semua nak jaga kepentingan sendiri. Yes... it's a business. But why should people care about just your needs. Radio stations need advertisers, and advertisers need listenership.

Bottomline semua nak pikat pendengar.

Dan kalao apa yang diberikan dikehendaki pendengar, kenapa orang lain lak nak rasakan meka nih berhak untuk memaksa orang mengubah selera.

EDUCATION
People always talk about how orang kita kena ubah mentality.

I say our music community kena ubah mentality. Times change. You change with it, or get left behind. That's a fact. Grow up... accept it.

Popshuvit takde pun publisit meluas kat radio, tapi antara artis kita yang paling berjaya nun di luar sana.

Artis cam Nicholas Teo dan Fish Leong yang orang kita sendiri tak kenal. But they have more fans and sell lots of albums. Kenapa artis yang spoon fed everything pun nak bising instead of making an effort.

I could go on and on, but bottomline is this - WE HAVE TO CHANGE. Not force others to. Make music people love. Not force people to love what you choose to put out.

A producer once told me - kalao nak buat music tuk puaskan diri sendiri, then record dan layan sendiri jerk. Kalao nak wat album, make sure it sells.

The ideal would be able to make music you love and people love. But hey... nothing's perfect.

Deal with it.

So anyway, what's my stand after all that?
Tujuan aku tulis panjang lebar is not to antagonize anyone. Even though kat forum aku tau ada golongan yang tak puas ati ngan apa aku katakan.

Thank you those like Faizal Tahir,Dayang Nurfaizah and even M. Nasir yang talked to me among others. Not all my points everyone would agree on. But I know that they know too most of what I say above has weight and has to be considered.

We are all fighting for the same thing - but maybe in different ways. Bottomline is - let's save the Malaysian music industry!

My stand at www.klubbkidd.com is that we have to support our music. But let's not lose everything in doing it.

Don't cut your nose to spite your face.

Letih jari... more tomorrow...

PS - This is not my longest entry ever... tapi letih nak naip. Pala berat pikir orang kita nya attitude towards change. So many fear change, and so many won't let go of their past successes. So how do we move on to the future?

Congrats Sue Anne Joe!

Here's a little lesson. Lain kali kalao da add orang kat myspace, ke approve.. take some time to find out who you added. Kalao tak wat malu jerk. Heh!

I read a bulletin in my myspace list about someone in my Friends list yang won an award kat Festival Filem Malaysia 21.

So I clicked and I browsed. Erm... the person was familiar cause I did kind of pass her masa the event. Tapi tak perasan. Yeap... orang dalam Friends list tapi tak kenal. Have messaged her since and exchanged some pleasantries..

Apapun, I want to congratulate Sue Anna Joe yang menang for Best Poster untuk hasil kerja dia untuk filem Susuk. Sori ler girl. Ko dalam senarai Friends aku pun aku tak kenal. Hampeh nya aku! Apapon, guys... Susuk da open so go check it out!

From the trailer it looks like it might be a worthy watch... and kalao korang nampak poster yang sesuatuh horrific ni (scary in a creepy and eerie, good kinda horror movie way), think of this lovely woman! (in terms of her work la)

The winner Sue Anna Joe! Tahniah woman!!!

The winning entry for Best Poster at FFM 21 for Susuk

Nak catch some shut eye. Esok kena gi Astro sat then nak dash to a music industry forum. Will let you guys know more in what just MIGHT become my longest entry for this year. Stay tuned!

Ruck fACISM

Malas nak update today. Damn imageshack screwed again, so malas nak upload any pics. Besides, didn't have much to post anyway.

Spent time last night in Pelita, after hanging in the Bangsar home, with bebudak 6ixth Sense and Bob as well as Shuib discussing something.

Erm... you know I wish I could just tell everyone the reality of what our music business is, cause it's all about crap.

Malas nak elaborate further, but trust me, a very long posting is coming. Just wait a couple of days and I'll tell you guys something which I think is very wrong with the local music scene.
Yang ketara, aku bosan sangat dunia muzik tempatan sebab politik bodoh dan sifat beberapa pihak menjaga kepentingan sendiri.

Well, nak wat camna... we have a bunch of racists and fascists yang masquerade in this business as those who try to convince people that they're in it for the betterment of the business.
But look at me going on. Tunggu je la..

PS - Did anyone notice my last entry tuh something wrong with the title... damn blogdrive. I think I should migrate soon to another blog hosting service..

Festival Filem Malaysia 21

I remember last year.. tak silap aku.. aku tak gi Festival Filem Malaysia. But I remember complaining after a few minutes of trying to watch, and then falling asleep masa depan TV. Amik ko. Or was that the year before. Erm.. susah nak ingat sebab every year pun camtuh.

So it was with a little bit of apprehension that I went to Putrajaya Convention Centre (PICC), Putrajaya for the show tonight.
Horror gak kalao teruk kan...

Masuk dalam Dewan Plenari tuh, meletup! Besao ok dewan tuh. I was impressed with the venue. Nevermind I thought the stage was ciput in comparison.

There was this lingering smell of smoke from the pyros which just hung in the hall. Matilah kalao aku asma da tercekik da. The whole night the smell was there. Matilah kalao yang pakai cantik-cantik tuh berliter perfume pakai pun tetap bau azab tuh lebih kuat. Sapa yang BO tuh suka la sebab leh salahkan the pyros for the stink.

And then the show started.

Erm... aku general statement jer la ek. Most of the shows sucked. The opening was amateurish and kelam kabut even though the idea was there, but execution memang out.

Banyak sangat performance, which somehow takes away from the whole event, that special spotlight on the films contesting. And most of them were unjustified for their slot.

So instead of meraung kesakitan, which I did in the hall - I'll just point out my faves.

Datuk Siti Nurhaliza for one was amazing as usual. Thank goodness for Bob saving the duet with Sahri, walaupun aku impressed sebab Sahri da banyak improve vocal kalao compared to before.

For nostalgia's sake, I like Zahid's Istana Menanti. I loved it and hated it for the same reason. Sebab lagu tu penah jadi lagu tugasan dia masa... tak silap aku minggu kedua, konsert Akademi Fantasia musim kedua.
I loved it cause he did a nice rendition of it, but hated it cause the choice of songs malam tuh, banyak yang over exposed tunes which kita da berkali kali tengok da. Tak perlu ok recycle lagu. Macam la kita ni tak cukup lagu.

Mmm... Riz did pretty ok too for a newcomer, but banyak rungutan gak aku dengar pasal orang kata anugerah malam ni seolah olah konsert Akademi Fantasia lak. And I have to agree. Established performers were far and few. Oh well...

Oh and don't ask me about Stacy's performance or wardrobe sebab aku takleh jawab. No I do not know kalao muzik ke performer patut disalahkan sebab aku takde masa rehearsal. And no, I don't know who picked that outfit for her.

Anyway.. most performers for the night were mediocre.

Which was perhaps the reason, Misha too stood out.

Presenters, hampir semua yang ada patut kena tampar lima kali across the face sebab delivery of their script flat gila - and hosts in Bob Lokman (why is he still there?) and Linda Onn (dengar cita dia ganti Sarimah last minute) were way below par. I mean honestly, thanks to all these people, FFM 21 could have been the miracle cure for any insomniac.

Results lak macam p*nt*t sikit sebab aku rasa ada yang mengarut. Malas nak komen mana satu, but let's just say for Best Actor, Best Screenplay and Best Cinematography were the few categories aku rasa juri either tertidur and main pangkah nama pemenang, or they were simply too weirded out to judge better performances and efforts.

Too bad Faz tak menang, but I didn't pin high hopes, sebab her character in Kayangan was not as strong as her acting. And I did have a feeling Maya Karin would come out tops.

Nasha too obviously tak menang, but she won the best look for the night for sure. Fine detailed work on her dress which was tasteful, yet colourful and elegant while being simpler than most of the outfits that a lot of artists wore malam tadi yang da macam sarkas da.

Merasalah ramai yang pakai samaada cam tak cukup kain, ataupun cam ada sale kat Kamdar jerk, draping merapu sapu lantai. Ada sorang pelakon ni pakai this fugly yellow ball gown. Pastu nak ke tempat duduk dia, kena naik tangga, she carried it so high we could see more than what we wanted to see. Yuck! Puke!

Apart from Nasha's baju, I loved Faz's outfit too. I should, since I followed her to pick it out. The brown contemporary take of the kebaya paired with the kain was Farah Khan @ Aseana.

Sambil ramai berlumba mendedah, she was more appropriately dressed for an awards show, sopan and elegant.

Best moments were far and few - but I remember the only tinge of excitement I felt was when Ruminah Sidek menang - TWICE! I love that woman! She put a smile to my face everytime. And yang pentingnya - orang kampung aku! Matilah aku... tetap bangga ngan orang Klang ok!

Plus points for the night was that Zul Huzaimy menang! Hurrah for abang Zul. He really is one of the more talented actors, and aku memang happy la dia menang.

Also glad Osman Ali picked up Cerita Asal Terbaik untuk Anak Halal.

Also congratulations to abang Mamat Khalid and the cast and crew of Kala Malam Bulan Mengambang for their five trophies that they took home.

By the end of the night - I was left wondering why I didn't just stay home to watch it on TV. That way I could have changed channels or switched it off kalao rasa nak tido. Perhaps that's why that bau ala sulfur meets carbon monoxide smokey thingie was for - to make sure none of us fell asleep. Matilah konsep smelling salts.

I didn't take many pics sebab malas sebenarnya since most of the time aku mingle the music community, and have little opportunity nak campor ngan komuniti film and TV. But here are the few I took.

Nabila looking classic

Zahid pun red and black

Yazer was pretty good too onstage

Riz (as promised to karmila and reds) and Stacy

Fazura and Diana.. not sure who their friend is

Abang Mamat and abang Zul

My favourite local actor - Zul Huzaimy

Perhaps the best part for the night was a talk I had. Can't say much. But kalao ada rezeki, aku mungkin akan berlakon ujung tahun ni for something. Keeping my fingers crossed because it is a role I really want and know I can carry.

Tak minat sangat berlakon - but kalao ada watak besh aku nak juga usaha so I can challenge myself more. Already selama ni aku dok belah mengkritik and evaluate. Bukan senang to create something - and aku nak push myself to keep trying something I haven't done before. Jadik ke tak lain cita. Janji aku cuba, and aku belajar from the proses.

I mean it's pretty pointless to go through life without learning anything kan?

Yawn... really tired. Nak retreat tuk tido da. Joined the makan makan jap, but then headed home to sleep. Skipped the private post party kengkawan kat Heritage Row (thanks for the invite guys.. sorry rasa da kertu tak larat lak).

Christian Loubotin

I have been feeling so lazy, that I stayed at home today, the whole day melayan jer movies.
I will mention them in order of what I thought of them. First the movies that were the equivalent of the political scenario of our country. Utter crap, that is.

Do NOT watch the ultra stupid Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay or the super boring Semi Pro.If I had actually bought tickets to watch those two movies, I would have burnt down the cinema in question and embarked on a manhunt for all those involved in making such a lousy excuse for entertainment.

Then there were the movies that I watched for nostalgia's sake. Wayne's World and Wayne's World 2. Ok, so for those yang pernah tengok, I know the humor is a little dated... but what can I say?! That was my college period. It was cool.

And then there were the interesting movies like YPF (Young People F***ing) which is not dirty as it sounds as it highlights relationship issues and 21, which was... ok I guess, though I think the previews made it look better.

Then the kid in me made me watch Happy Feet and Kungfu Panda, both of which I am sure that I am the last person on earth to actually catch these two great animation fare.

Tapi yang pentingnya... I have watched... SEX AND THE CITY!

I admit ... even though I watch the series, I don't do it religiously. So I know the basic plot, the storyline more or less thus far, and also the characters, but screw the story... I wanted to see the fashion in it - which is the very same reason I'm sure that a lot of people bothered to watch this movie for in the first place.

And it was MIND BLOWING! Ok, so the relationship problems and stuff are pretty run of the mill - as is the ending. But everyone loves a good chick flick once a while.

And it was pretty good!

The fashions? WOW! Let's see. I can recognise some outfits to be Ralph Lauren, Burberry and Vivienne Westwood for sure. Bags are a mix of Chanel, Ferragamo, Alexander McQueen, Fendi and of course that instrumental Louis Vuitton which was highlighted.

Shoes had Manolo Blahnik, Dior, Moschino, Marc Jacobs among others.

But I spotted something familiar! And probably since I was on the lookout for it, since Boo da bagitau to keep an eye out.

Here's a still shot of what Charlotte wore for one of the scenes.

That's what I found on a style guide. Yeap. So the shoes which are the subject of my observation are the Christian Louboutin slingbacks. If you read my blog sometime end of March, you would think they're familiar too because I published these then.

Remember kasut sapa tak yang I photographed?. I was so fascinated by them when I first saw them that I had to take a picture of the shoes then. Yeap, even at that point aku tak penah dengar Christian Louboutin, I thought the trademark red soles were so amazing!

Of course the one the character of Charlotte wears is slightly different material as it's more of a silver snakeskin version while the top one is the silver glitter version. Tak kisah la. Janji it's a slingback, peep toe Christian Louboutin katanya...

So kasut sapa ni?

Fokus bebetul and pikirkan...

FOKUSSS!!!!

Heh! Dah dapat jawapan? Faz lah.. Who else has impeccable taste in shoes?Amik ko... the only reader yang recognise the Louboutins's then was a reader yang comment by the nick of misz_LA.

How'd I get from movies to heels? Nevermind... moving on.

Malas nak post much. Esok Festival Filem. So more pics then... Ta all...

PS - The opening of the Beijing Olympics just now was AWESOME! Best lighting of the torch ever!!!

Retail rocks!

I am so touched! Met up with Faz this evening at Pavilion. Supposed to go pick up some stuff she needed to doll up for Festival Filem Malaysia on Saturday night. Met later than planned about lunch sebab the jam, the rain and so on.

Chilled at Michaelangelo's and grabbed a bite. Masa Faz arrived, baru nak tanya apa dia shopping, cause she had this huge bag with her when she plopped it down on the seat, said, "Hi dear, here's your belated birthday present, I gotta go to the ladies."

Erm... alrighty then. She took a few steps and then turned and said, "open it up ok" and moved on. Looked at the bag.

I wondered what it was. Ok, I did play a guessing game. I slipped in my hand and messed about and tried to guess. Guess I must have slipped up and groped the wrong thing cause I guess wrong. I thought it was a shirt! The eventual result was much further cause I had actually grabbed the cloth bag in came in.

All I know about Jaspal is that it's a big local brand in Thailand, and the likes of Kate Moss, Gisele Bundchen, Milla Jovovich, Mischa Barton and Selma Blair have been the face of the label.
So I popped the bag open. This was what was inside.

Awesome! Tell me isn't that the coolest bag! The smell of leather was yummy! One of the best birthday presents for a long time for sure. She sure knows my taste.
We grabbed a bite, then moved to KLCC to get the stuff Faz needed.

Can't say where we went or what we got, but I love Faz's outfit for the event. Oops! Then jalan jalan shopping. This counter selling the coolest but expensive charmbracelets caught Faz's eye. Love them!!! Oh my God!!! They're so cute!

After she perused through the individual charms which were all just so yummy, she got stopped by some counter staff for a photo opportunity, aku lak browsed what they offered. And this caught my eye. I want this!!

And it on discount, even though just 10%! Yeap, I want the one on the pink pillow. Lawa gila! I could do without the D&G logo which was a little obnoxious though. But the design was awesome! Didn't get it though sebab aku nak sleep on it.

Spent the rest of the night finishing up shopping, and then just chilling with friends.

I love how this week is turning out.

Oh by the way, when we popped MAC, perasan this display!

Oh my! I love the Heatherette label by Traver Rains and Richie Rich! And the packaging caught not only my eye but Faz pun perasan. But since it was sold out, kita ogle jer la.

Heh... ok... something tells me I am going to blow my budget this month. Let's just hope I don't have the next few days free to go shopping and I've forgotten all I've seen... kalao tak pokai aku.... anyone wanna get a belated birthday present for me? Matilah aku...

Rested and amused

When in times of the need of affirmation of who you are, look no further than your friends to judge who you are... what kind of a person you are.

I am glad that I can proudly say I have great friends I can count on who embrace life no matter what goes on, ever positive. Even if they wear t-shirts like this.

Yes, thank you Faz for the comic relief. Even though she was really tired and crank just like her t-shirt described. Mana taknya, malam tadik baru abih wrap up shooting Ezora. Still, love the way she lights up the moment dia jumpa friends. And when she does that, she just brings a positive energy which all of us around her feed off.

Sempat pose ayu walaupun letih.. heh! Well.. at least she be trying kan?

Yang pentingnya ni la wajah a hardworking actress (with a nice, simple bag) yang tercalon for Festival Filem Malaysia this weekend for Best Actress for Kayangan alongside my sister from another mother (and father) Nasha Aziz (Otai), Maya Karin (Anak Halal), Erra Fazira (Anak), and Vanidah Imran (Akhirat).

Yeap dia menang four years ago for Bicara Hati as Pelakon Harapan, so don't know if she can grab another trophy this time... but no matter what, I am so proud of her.

Habih lepak ngan Faz and gang, headed back.

Damn road blocks at all entrance points into KL set up da as usual. Yeap, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to be charged tomorrow, so terus paranoia from the authorities. As usual. What the... I really cannot believe our precious tax Ringgit keep getting wasted camni.

Sigh...

Malas nak cakap bab tuh. CLICK HERE to see what the man himself has to say. Gotta go... a lot of fun activities tomorrow.

I am me!

Oh my. How they come out of the woodwork! Lum pe pe lagik aku pas kata aku da nak keluar dari jaga Stacy jerk ada yang da bisik memacam. Grow up la people. It was a business deal.

Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't.

I had a laugh about the whole thing. New resolution for 2008. If it's not too late that is.

Which is don't give a flying.. erm... cluck about what people think.

Anyway, over the course of these few days, I've been deep in thought.

Doesn't happen often, so brace yourselves.

I've had a major epiphany! Yes! An epiphany. Ok... simpler terms. A sudden, intuitive perception of or insight into the reality or essential meaning of something, usually initiated by some simple, homely, or commonplace occurrence or experience.

Was reading back some old blog entries and I went like WHOA!!! Man, can I be nasty.
It was fun to read through some stuff I wrote, painful as they might be to relive, and I discovered in the last couple of years, I've lost my sense of humour!
Camna tuh?

Had a talk with my mentor over things, and with a much clearer head, here I go.
To everyone reading this, if you've been cussed by me, had a fall out with me, been bitch slapped by me... I'm sorry.

Not because I regret what happened as I never believe in regretting things past.
But I am sorry because of how things worked out.

So to all the people who have been on the warpath with me through the years, even the unforgiveable few - peace! Live long, prosperous lives.

I know know how to lead mine.

By putting myself first and foremost. I dissected most of my problems, and you know what, I realise they all bear a strange pattern.

It always involves me putting someone else's needs before mine. And then I eventually end up bitter because the results, or resulting situation langsung tak setimpal with what I expect.
Thus anger, thus resentment, when I feel taken for granted, for a ride,or just plain overlooked.
So no more of that.

Gawd! That feels so good to say. Who would have thought being selfish and thinking of yourself could make you feel this good!

Heh.. apa pun, honestly to everyone, I've moved on to a happier place, so to everyone (malas nak list, though I calculated there should be about six names) let's get on with our lives. Or if you can't, then there's really nothing I can do for you so it's your own problem.

Moving on, aku hari ni worked on some paperwork to tighten up Project R, and worked out the nitty gritty.

It's been a mentally tiring past few days, but now I feel renewed.
Just needed time with myself.

Will blog more tomorrow.

With the thought in mind that the Pesta Malam Indonesia is right around the corner. Woo-hoo! For those of you looking fore more information on the event, CLICK HERE!!! Check out the video messages from the bands!

Bagaikan melepaskan anjing yang tersepit

Aku malam tadi makan malam ngan Nurul dan Ika. Terserempak Corrie. Tima kasih ek Corrie @ Adam kerana belanja makan. You still one of the best choreographers in the business!

Motif? Aku lebih tahu kaedahnya. Matilah memacam speku diundang.

Malas nak bebanyak amik pic. Angin tak betui sebenarnya. Ada ler benda main kat pala tuh. Lepak ngan bebudak jap sebelom balik bagik Junior makan. Then settled one more problem jumpa ngan member borak.

Dalam satu problem settle, aku dengar benda tak elok pasal something that's been on my mind.
All I can say is, karma is a bitch.

Aku da banyak ubah skang. Biar orang buat apa saja kat kita. Satu hari nanti ada balasannya. Cuma bukan tempat aku untuk mengadili atau menghakimi seseorang.
So.. turn the other cheek.

Owh yes... I forgive. But nak forget tu susah la....

Aduh... sori la entry tak panjang sangat. Malas sebenarnya. Banyak benda masih mengisi ruang pala ni. Nanti ek aku update lagik.

The finish line

Baru habis marathon. Yeap, tak keluar rumah langsung over the weekend, except smalam keluar makan ngan Boo nak ngadu apa di pala ni.

Memacam drama through the weekend. So decided to stay at home, to ease my stress which has brought on palpitations. Figured solutions, and felt better and more relaxed after watching two seasons of Project Runway and three movies.

Matilah ngadap laptop tapi malas update blog. Rasain!!!!

More tomorrow...

Drama day

So much drama today. Started with major high after my first meeting for the day for Project R. Yeay! All systems go! It's going to be big. In fact, with every day semakin bigger la the project becoming. Risau lak aku.

Second meeting was for Project S. Ok, kalao selama ni aku tak bagitau, yes, the S stands for Stacy. Actually cita camni, as of July 15, officially, I entered in an artist consultancy management deal with Maestro Talent & Management to care for Stacy bab communication and image.

Due to slight technical delays, I have yet to be able to sign the contract.
Today, I withdrew from the agreement.

Yes, aku pasni takde kena mengena ngan Stacy. Takyah speku apa apa. Biasalah, business deal. Kejap ada kejap takde. Heh... I had my reasons, and I wish everyone all the best.

Some things on my mind today, but stress out nak naikkan my blood pressure takyah.
So what did I do?

Pas all the meetings, nak unwind... apa lagi? Headed to Republic in Sunway Pyramid for Samsons' second show. They make me happy all the type. Forget the fact meka banyak lagu patah hati yang depressing. It's a good kind of depressing, if you know what I mean.

So rather than rant, here are more pictures.

Aku had so much fun that I almost forgot all my problems. Tapi aku paling happy memula Tang yang tak sempat join for the show, mesej kata dia ajak bebudak Samsons supper and me too la.
Tapi masa Bam nak gerak, dia kata the band hanging out, and dia nak hantar mom dia balik ke hotel. Dia takleh cakap, so dia pass number dia, keying in my phone.

I messaged him later sebab dia tak bak phone, and dia replied kata dia tak sempat join. Erm... kalao camtuh kansel la supper. Heh.. aku banyak nak borak ngan dia.

Besides Irfan and the gang semua da settled in chill kat Republic.

So I headed home, while texting with Bam yang ajak lepak kang meka turun balik tuk Pesta Malam Indonesia. Yeay!

That made my day!

I have to tell you, kalao you guys didn't catch their two shows here.. RUGI!!!!

Kalao you caught the first night kat Bar Savanh tapi tak ke Republic... RUGI GAK!!!

Aku rasa cam lagu meka perform kurang sikit dari what was almost a full blown concert performance like smalam, but bebudak lagik slamba and rileks jerk, making it more fun.

Not to mention no thanks to the lack of publicity for the event, second show ni dalam 100 orang plus je hadir, so more intimate and thus even more fun!!!!

Am going to sleep.. with Tak Bisa Memiliki on repeat.

Can't wait till Samsons are back here...
