Er... ok so now on to my comments. Nak cakap camna.

Tahniah la pada semua yang menang. Everyone, every film - semua orang work hard kan? SO takde isu 'aku menang, aku keja keras'. Takde gak isu dengki ke, haper ke... sebagai alasan bila orang kritik. So lame.

I mean, immediately aku dengar beberapa orang defensive mode sebut pasal 'ni lah orang Melayu nak dengki etc hasil keja orang sendiri' or 'we worked hard for this' or 'suka tau ada bangsa sampahkan hasil keja orang lain' etc.

Excuse me? Masuk industri di mana hasil keja ko akan dinilai - pe halnya nak camtuh? Stupid, moronic mentality tol bila camtu. Nama nak iktiraf yang TERBAIK?

Kalao da ada yang BUKAN yang terbaik perlu ke.

I have been dissatisfied with nominations dari start. Muallaf, Ice Kacang Puppy Love dapat consolation prize la kiranya ngan Anugerah Khas Juri. Merasalah la kan... tak layak bertanding kononnya sebab not enough content dalam bahasa kebangsaan. Nama FESTIVAL FILEM MALAYSIA. Siapa yang wat filem-filem tuh? Orang asing ke? Does it make those two films any less Malaysian - sedangkan filem-filem tu gak angkat nama Malaysia at an international level?

I think Shamsul and Lisa are very talented, but I think it's not their time yet. There were more people yang lom recognized yet.

Magika as Best Film? Interesting... but no valid reason. Kenapa? Sebab fantasi yang promosi watak mitos/fiksyen local? Sebab CGI? Oh well... lantak la.

Camni je la. Aku tak suka dunia seni baik filem atau muzik, dipolitikkan. Dan aku tak suka kalao this ends up being JUST a business. Mana penghargaan nilai estitika hasil seni?

Ok... da la meroyan bab tuh. Letih. Sepanjang malam, and the last two weeks memacam da dengar dan bertukar dari mulot ke mulot. FFM SUCKS. Period.

About the event itself - ni pemerhatian aku sendiri, dan juga kompilasi complaints dari artis dan orang industri sendiri. Sapa nak terasa ke haper ke, stop being a defensive idiot. Nak wat better kan? Learn from your mistakes. And you can only learn when you admit the mistakes.

*Majlis penuh dengan orang entah siapa pon, tak kenal. Kata ni ibarat Raya orang filem. Tapi kenapa ramai jemputan nan hado? Datang lak cam kereta berhias lak...bad fitting suits and cheap, skanky dresses.

*Nampaknya 'silent boycott' menjadi. Tak ramai artis nama top meletop muncul including nominees. Yang mai KEBANYAKKANNYA either penyampai, or artis suam-suam kuku je nak promosi diri.

*SACC sungguh tak glam dan tak sesuai nak feeling jadi home pada majlis yang konon prestij. Kecik dan semak ala Kompleks PKNS.

*Dah la venue kecik, tak bagi orang masuk dewan kena berlegar kat luar, sampai tiap rongga SACC diisi pelok sakan sekor-sekor.

*Red carpet glamour trafik jam sebab jalan pendek nak penoh berapa interview, pentas bagai. Last-last, stop sana stop sini, red carpet lom abih, majlis da start mengakibatkan artis ada yang sangkut luar kena jeling masuk lambat.

*Hezrey tu menyemak. Ngan rambut pacak senget penuh glitter, merapu je staff RTM ni. Sharifah Shahira dan Zizan meletop tapi dicacatkan oleh penyertaan sekor tuh.

*Opening Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa. Motif promosi filem KRU akan kuar? Apa relevance? Tarian tu not our culture ke haper pon as it's a work of fiction. Unless ada something I missed and Merong tuh dance musical yang nak diketengahkan.

*Performance semua haus! Shamsul as a rapper? Really? Nyemak je dia dan ensemble dia. Radhi lak tenggelam.

*Performance best - Angkatan Pemuda Indie atau API (AJ - Popshuvit, Lan - Azlan & The Typewriter, MonoLoque, Jipie - Pesawat, Greg Henderson, Din - Estranged) paling meletop. Appallam pun best. Dayang dan Lan ok la. Lain - erm.. production RTM typical.

*Penyampai trofi semua - entah asal usual planet mana. Up sikit dari penyampai trofi puteri bunian kat pre-awards jek.

*Pas abih event konon ada post party. Hado? Makan-makan kat luar lobby jek.

*Press conference takde. Juri semua ilang dan tidak dapat dikesan media tuk ditanya soalan.

*Sekuriti tak dibayar overtime kot semua pon sama ilang. Orang luar semua masuk, kesian artis da la berasak makan minom sparuh mati pas event hado... kena layan peminat.

*Dalam kesempitan SACC dan keadaan kelam kabut, cam pasar malam da. Kesian yang feeling pakai kain panjang kena pijak bagai.

*Ramai artis dan berangan artis tak tahan keadaan lantas angkat kaki berkompol mamak-mamak. Glamer sungguh mamak Shah Alam malam tadi.

Ni bukti post part hado.

Aku pon ciao ngan kengkawan nak makan dan wat post mortem. Kesian ada kawan sorang ni. Asik wat keja, tak sempat melantak dalam huru hara, sampai kena nasi ayam banyak ni nak isi tangki.

Mari.. er..

Went for the launch of Mari Menari. So not impressed. Already Sehati Berdansa was a bad photocopy of Dancing With The Stars. Ni lak wat Mari Menari ganti Sehati Berdansa, which is more or less the same minus the celebrities.

Jap. Ada celebrities. Zulhuzaimy, Erra Fazira, Ferhad and Lisdawati. Too bad meka ni penasihat je. Wait a minute - apa kena mengena? Erm... nasihat pasal menari? Ok...diamkan dri je la.

Layan Lisa dan Awal ni agik baik. The hosts of the show.

Sempat catch up ngan abang Zul. Rindu lama tol tak jumpa dia. I like him. He's funny and warm. Not everyone leaves that impression on me, so there.

Will I watch Mari Menari? Not likely. Korang layan... kalao bagus bagitau ek baru aku tengok.

Going to sleep

Believe it or not, baru je nak crawl into bed since last night.

After ended the event, which thankfully went better than we expected after all the horrors that went down, decided to call it an early night. Sort of. Went to grab a bite at the post event, and then mamak kat Cheras ngan Syarol.

Wanted to head back to catch some Zs tapi da ngantuk sangat, sempat sampai kat Shah Alam je, pull over kat a petrol station tidur jap. Matilah kejap katanya, bangun pun da almost 7am! Mak aih... sempat aku tidur dalam hampir empat jam.

Terserlah keletihan akibat tidur a total of tiga jam je in 48 hours.

So how did the show go? Well... I would be biased in any of my comments. But I have to say my favourite performances were the opening act in Datuk Siti Nurhaliza - walaupun Kurik Kundi lagu lama, but it's still a good song plus rindu show dia yang all out camni, and the closing in Ning Baizura with the James Bond theme songs medley.

The Mamma Mia! tribute was decent too, with Zahid, Nita, Dafi and Suki doing better in the show than in the rehearsals.

The other bits were just somewhere between so-so and horrendous.

Still, it was a fun learning experience for me tuk kerja sebalik tabir dalam disiplin yang aku tak penah cuba, so I cherish the experience.

Festival Filem Malaysia 21

I remember last year.. tak silap aku.. aku tak gi Festival Filem Malaysia. But I remember complaining after a few minutes of trying to watch, and then falling asleep masa depan TV. Amik ko. Or was that the year before. Erm.. susah nak ingat sebab every year pun camtuh.

So it was with a little bit of apprehension that I went to Putrajaya Convention Centre (PICC), Putrajaya for the show tonight.
Horror gak kalao teruk kan...

Masuk dalam Dewan Plenari tuh, meletup! Besao ok dewan tuh. I was impressed with the venue. Nevermind I thought the stage was ciput in comparison.

There was this lingering smell of smoke from the pyros which just hung in the hall. Matilah kalao aku asma da tercekik da. The whole night the smell was there. Matilah kalao yang pakai cantik-cantik tuh berliter perfume pakai pun tetap bau azab tuh lebih kuat. Sapa yang BO tuh suka la sebab leh salahkan the pyros for the stink.

And then the show started.

Erm... aku general statement jer la ek. Most of the shows sucked. The opening was amateurish and kelam kabut even though the idea was there, but execution memang out.

Banyak sangat performance, which somehow takes away from the whole event, that special spotlight on the films contesting. And most of them were unjustified for their slot.

So instead of meraung kesakitan, which I did in the hall - I'll just point out my faves.

Datuk Siti Nurhaliza for one was amazing as usual. Thank goodness for Bob saving the duet with Sahri, walaupun aku impressed sebab Sahri da banyak improve vocal kalao compared to before.

For nostalgia's sake, I like Zahid's Istana Menanti. I loved it and hated it for the same reason. Sebab lagu tu penah jadi lagu tugasan dia masa... tak silap aku minggu kedua, konsert Akademi Fantasia musim kedua.
I loved it cause he did a nice rendition of it, but hated it cause the choice of songs malam tuh, banyak yang over exposed tunes which kita da berkali kali tengok da. Tak perlu ok recycle lagu. Macam la kita ni tak cukup lagu.

Mmm... Riz did pretty ok too for a newcomer, but banyak rungutan gak aku dengar pasal orang kata anugerah malam ni seolah olah konsert Akademi Fantasia lak. And I have to agree. Established performers were far and few. Oh well...

Oh and don't ask me about Stacy's performance or wardrobe sebab aku takleh jawab. No I do not know kalao muzik ke performer patut disalahkan sebab aku takde masa rehearsal. And no, I don't know who picked that outfit for her.

Anyway.. most performers for the night were mediocre.

Which was perhaps the reason, Misha too stood out.

Presenters, hampir semua yang ada patut kena tampar lima kali across the face sebab delivery of their script flat gila - and hosts in Bob Lokman (why is he still there?) and Linda Onn (dengar cita dia ganti Sarimah last minute) were way below par. I mean honestly, thanks to all these people, FFM 21 could have been the miracle cure for any insomniac.

Results lak macam p*nt*t sikit sebab aku rasa ada yang mengarut. Malas nak komen mana satu, but let's just say for Best Actor, Best Screenplay and Best Cinematography were the few categories aku rasa juri either tertidur and main pangkah nama pemenang, or they were simply too weirded out to judge better performances and efforts.

Too bad Faz tak menang, but I didn't pin high hopes, sebab her character in Kayangan was not as strong as her acting. And I did have a feeling Maya Karin would come out tops.

Nasha too obviously tak menang, but she won the best look for the night for sure. Fine detailed work on her dress which was tasteful, yet colourful and elegant while being simpler than most of the outfits that a lot of artists wore malam tadi yang da macam sarkas da.

Merasalah ramai yang pakai samaada cam tak cukup kain, ataupun cam ada sale kat Kamdar jerk, draping merapu sapu lantai. Ada sorang pelakon ni pakai this fugly yellow ball gown. Pastu nak ke tempat duduk dia, kena naik tangga, she carried it so high we could see more than what we wanted to see. Yuck! Puke!

Apart from Nasha's baju, I loved Faz's outfit too. I should, since I followed her to pick it out. The brown contemporary take of the kebaya paired with the kain was Farah Khan @ Aseana.

Sambil ramai berlumba mendedah, she was more appropriately dressed for an awards show, sopan and elegant.

Best moments were far and few - but I remember the only tinge of excitement I felt was when Ruminah Sidek menang - TWICE! I love that woman! She put a smile to my face everytime. And yang pentingnya - orang kampung aku! Matilah aku... tetap bangga ngan orang Klang ok!

Plus points for the night was that Zul Huzaimy menang! Hurrah for abang Zul. He really is one of the more talented actors, and aku memang happy la dia menang.

Also glad Osman Ali picked up Cerita Asal Terbaik untuk Anak Halal.

Also congratulations to abang Mamat Khalid and the cast and crew of Kala Malam Bulan Mengambang for their five trophies that they took home.

By the end of the night - I was left wondering why I didn't just stay home to watch it on TV. That way I could have changed channels or switched it off kalao rasa nak tido. Perhaps that's why that bau ala sulfur meets carbon monoxide smokey thingie was for - to make sure none of us fell asleep. Matilah konsep smelling salts.

I didn't take many pics sebab malas sebenarnya since most of the time aku mingle the music community, and have little opportunity nak campor ngan komuniti film and TV. But here are the few I took.

Perhaps the best part for the night was a talk I had. Can't say much. But kalao ada rezeki, aku mungkin akan berlakon ujung tahun ni for something. Keeping my fingers crossed because it is a role I really want and know I can carry.

Tak minat sangat berlakon - but kalao ada watak besh aku nak juga usaha so I can challenge myself more. Already selama ni aku dok belah mengkritik and evaluate. Bukan senang to create something - and aku nak push myself to keep trying something I haven't done before. Jadik ke tak lain cita. Janji aku cuba, and aku belajar from the proses.

I mean it's pretty pointless to go through life without learning anything kan?

Yawn... really tired. Nak retreat tuk tido da. Joined the makan makan jap, but then headed home to sleep. Skipped the private post party kengkawan kat Heritage Row (thanks for the invite guys.. sorry rasa da kertu tak larat lak).

Yazer, Impak Maksima and dia

My entries berapa ari nih kes malas sikit, so ari nih aku nak make up for it. Yerlah..bukan apa...kesibukan tahap gaban sebab aku ada packed weekend. Ni pun posting ala wireless dari Starbucks kat 1 Utama pas abih keja pelbagai yang dihantar melalui email sebab terkenangkan deadline. Noisy areas like this, public and where I can indulge in a drink and smoke at the same time make me function better than the office, so time out tuk abihkan stock three articles agik, a weekend personality feature, my column and an article.

Da abih ni baru sempat update blog again.

Sebenarnya ada kat 1 Utama sebab pagi tadik ada preview Impak Maksima arahan Ahmad Idham. Surprisingly enough, aku bangun kul 8 pagi! Wow!! Awalnya! Heh...matilah aku.
Sampai kat screening konon 9.45am with time to kill. Erm... It was ok ok la. Effects and stunts bagus, tapi mak aih!!! Si Yatt tuh takleh lakon ok. Kayu smacam. Not to mention lakonan yang tahap kegedikan gaban! Merasalah!

And Opie Zami was horrible!!! Aku tepuk tangan time character dia mati. Leh???

The storyline biasa je, and CGI horror! Burok nak mampos!

Tapi kalao nak tengok a movie for its action suka kot sebab it was pretty awesome from that aspect walaopon camerawork dodgy sikit.

My favourite actor delivered yang penting, namely Zul Huzaimy!!! Yeah yeah!!!
Eizlan, Cat dan Awal ok jer, while there was too little of Diya. Dynaz? Bolehlah...

As a good shopaholic, I caved in to my craving and bought two pairs of pin striped pants (black with white stripes and back with red stripes - suka kan colour black ni) and also a pair of funky jeans. They were CHEAP!!! SALE!!! SALE!! SALE!!!

I love sales!

Bought a couple of miscellaneous items...and then masa Juan and friends nak balik, tetiba kami bump into an old friend yang lama tak jumpa.

Yeap...that's Yazer for you. Dia sorang masa tuh, so since aku pun alone, dia joined me for tea (beriya tea katanya feeling omputeh) and had a catch up session.

Lama tak jmpa dia... last bebetul lepak ngan dia pon over a year ago kot masa kuar ngan dia dan Felix ronda KL. So sembang and found out what everyone was doing... and samaada Ekin sihat ke tak. Oops....!!!

Sorry Yazer...usik jer bah!

Anyways, pada meka yang tunggu album dia, it should be out after Raya, because it's completed and tunggu nak shoot cover album and then release da. First song, hopefully in this month camtuh da leh kedengaran kat coring radio.

And I heard one of the songs from the album and it was AWESOME!!! Ass kickin' rock!

Aku hope his debut album will be as good. Lagu tuh yang aku pun tatau title, hasil M. Nasir yang lain dari lain...so mintak mintak ler the whole album surprise camtuh gak.

Pas we hung out about two hours and borak about everything under the sun... termasuk cita baru kuarga Akademi Fantasia musim ketiga, abang Nasir and Luncai Emas and rock music in general as well as perkembagan dia.., aku pun nak gerak ke keta so we parted ways.

Amik barang dari keta aku ke Starbucks lak tapi takde seat baik punya. So ended up next door kat Nando's overlooking the highway which was quite soothing actually.

Finished stok keja and dapat SMS dari seseorang. Memula plan tak jumpa ari ni... tapi dia ajak dinner. Erm. Me likey!

Since aku free dan esok leh masuk keja lambat, of course kejap lagik ni nak jumpa dia supper. Dinner actually sebab dia lom makan and me too walaopon da lewat.

Lagilpon a nice way to cap off coming up to the end of the week sebab weekend kind of fun, and definitely banyak benda nak posting.

Esok ada press interviews with Samsons!!! Walaopon memula first album tak minat sangat sebab da layan their latest album in Penantian Hidup aku da jadik peminat! So esok interview with Bams and Co. Sabtu layan show meka, and Ahad ada Ikon.

Arghhhhh...so tired.

Lama tak driving balik sampai nak tertidur. But I guess it was another fruitful day cause I got a lot of work done.

Satisfying is the word...

Sebelum teruskan posting...terjumpa dua pics yang aku nak letak semalam tapi tak sempat. Hari tu ngan bebudak lepak, meka gi ler laundry kat Seksyen 16. So mai kita sambung kan posting gambar-gambar keji dan membuang masa.

Pandai kan adik-adik carik laundry yang 'sesuai'. Tengok je nama washer dan dryer dia.

Semalam hectic gila babas. Today pun no difference. Ada Batik Showcase kat The Weld.

Patutnya awal awal gi Mawi punya event yang pelancaran album dia... but after much thought, didn't go, and went to the other event instead.

Of course I chose it for a reason... sebab artis sana lebih ramai nak gi kumpul gosip ler kan.

Tempat camtuh yang reramai nih breeding ground for all sorts of stuff.

Anyways... seronok sebab I think about 50 artistes amik bahagian along with 12 or 14 footballers yang become part of the modelling group.

Ni aku kongsi beberapa pic favourite celebs aku yang either looked good, atau memang aku suka.

Ada yang tak sempat amik cam Ning dan Ziana. But hope you guys enjoy the rest. Nak amik pic lebih tapi sibuk lari sana lari sini cam ayam kena penggal pala that I didn't have the time.

So many celebs and personalities I wanted to take pics of... but after da abih kan keja korek tuh nih lak, aku sambung pot pet sana sini, so eventually when the party was over.. alamak... tak sempat lak sebab yang ada pun geng geng yang tak perlu aku snap kan. Matilah...

Errr kalau tak cam, upper left tuh Amber Chia. I think she always looks great no matter what kan. Dia ni cam Barbie doll yang idop.

But then again, that's why she's such a hot model.

Next pic is of course, ratu tumit tinggi si Fazura. Matilah aku! Jangan marah Faz babe.. you know I love you. Carut light light je. Jangan bukak high heel tuh da...

The next one is Fauziah Latiff. kak Jee tuk aku looked the best for the whole evening as her baju tuh elok ler sikit kalao banding ramai ramai yang ada nih.

And finally...the thorn among the roses... or the rose among the thorns, Zul Huzaimi.

Aku chose his pic nak share kan... sebab yerlah... orang tuh seri power... pengantin baru katakan.

Merasalah kena usik lutut longgar seharian. Tapi dia memang pala gila sikit dan sporting so no hal punya.

Nothing much to post. Sebab nak paksa diri tuk rajin-rajin posting punya pasal ler aku walaupun entry pendek pun, at least I do a little log. Tanak abaikan lama-lama. Semakin menjadi malasnya kalao camtuh.

Anyways... esok slower pace sikit kot sebab nak abihkan kerja kerja kat opis je banyak. Which too, I think can be done quite fast comparatively... so no hal.

Tomorrow got some errands to run... some money nak pick up (cam ceti lak pulak)...

And ada yang kata nak karaoke beramai-ramai lak. Matilah lebih 20 orang feeling nak cram into one room. Mmmm... kononnya stock nak masuk puasa ler nak berhibur puas puas. Aiyak... tul ke ni.

Kang silap silap ajak berbuka kang... pastu karaoke gak.

Caught today's episode after missing last week, so senarai cameo aku dah jumble. Now this is what happens when you take a week off. Gosh darn it!

Oh my gawsh... look at the time. Time to hit the drafts and blueprints and business proposals nak abihkan sebelum aku leh tidur. Moga-moga aku larat nak abihkan cepat.

PS - Pada Faizal yang kini kembali ke Terengganu untuk bercuti... jaga diri. Jangan lupa buah tangan yang dijanjikan ek. Sesapa kat Ganu tuh... gi ler lawat Faizal...tapi agak agak ler jangan dok rumah orang sampai tengah malam. Dia balik pon tiga hari je... so bagik dia peluang lepas rindu gak kat kampung halaman dan keluarga especially.
