Dragonfire!

Didn't do much the last couple of days. Needed to get out of this deep blue funk I'm in. Thankful to those who pulled me through it. You know who you are. Even though I may have pushed you away. These people are always my strength in times when things seem gloomiest.

Love all of you.

Anyway, smalam gi event bodoh. Initially supposed to gi makan malam with Sarimah and her hubby and bro. Tapi last last naik jap event bangang yang buang masa kat Ruums. Nangis jap. It was a typical berangan and boring event. Give me strength... yawn!

Dinner after that was more interesting.

Me had the Dragonfire chicken! Tapi initially masa sampai order aku, Sarimah lak kata sedap, aku pass dia share ngan Andrew. Al kisahnya when I placed another order and it came, veggie choice dia da berubah. Tetiba jadik brocolli - the worst green ever!

Dig that. They seemed to have just dumped the whole lot of brocolli on my plate camtuh jer. Yuck! Everything else was fine though. Had a relaxed and fun night. So felt a little better today.

Oh anyway, been dying to share a little news with you guys. Heard from a little birdie that... RIHANNA IS COMING TO KUALA LUMPUR!

Tunggu confirmation, but word is, she will indeed be heading to our shores.

I last met Rihanna in Bangkok in October 2006 when she opened for Jay-Z's tour.

Sebelum zaman Umbrella and Please Don't Stop The Music aku da gilakan dia da because of Pon De Replay.

She is absolutely gorgeous in person, and I think she has gotten more chic since those days. Am so looking forward to meeting her again.
I have no further news on the exact date, because all I can say is at the moment, they still finalising the details - and hopefully some local authority won't have a gerbil up his ass about her performing.

Her performance the last time about wasn't the best vocal show, but she was just mesmerising to watch. Hey! I can deal with that! I already have the CD! I just wanna watch her stut it live again.
Dulu pun aku tengok show dia masa dia open for Jay'z Block party tour where she did about half a dozen songs je.

So wanna see her perform Disturbia live!

So keep coming back here for more info. Will let you guys know the confirmation of the KL date of Rihanna's show as soon as I get more info, ok.

Oh by the way, yes, people, I have finally succumbed to Facebook. Yes, it is my account. And no please do not add me on Facebook - UNLESS you are someone from the entertainment industry.

Pesta Malam Indonesia 2 - Part 2 (The Sheila On 7 special)

Told you the last entry was going to be heavy with pics. For fans of Samsons, hope you guys are happy with it. Susah nak rock out while trying to take some nice pics.

Anyway, nak relate sikit ler. Actually, honestly, dulu aku tak penah minat Samsons. Album pertama was so so jer for me, nothing great. And I used to hate Kenangan Terindah... didn't help that my ex had a caller ringtone with that, sampai horror bila aku dengar lagu tuh meluat aku teringat dia. Heh.. matilah.

But their amazing direction in their second album Penantian Hidup made me a fan. Nay, a groupie! And friend of Samsons! And I'm proud to say that because they are a bunch of talented boys.

But before I discovered Samsons, aku tak penah la gila muzik Indonesia except for another band. Sheila On 7.

Their songs were inspirational in a poetic delivery of emotions.

Eross was one of the biggest songwriters for me for his uncanny ability to capture everything with his music and the right choice of words.

Even Irfan, the brains behind Samsons pun minat Eross, and the first time I met Irfan, we chatted about Eross and his tunes as well. And perhaps that's another reason why I like Samsons' songs. Sebab their directon in material was going the right way.

Anyway, lepas Samsons perform during Pesta Malam Indonesia 2, the next band up was Sheila On 7.

Tengah say bye to Bam masa pas Samsons performed, aku perasan bebudak Sheila On 7 getting ready. Aku so preoccupied with Samsons, my favourite band now, that aku leh tak perasan possibly one of the best Indo rock bands to come out of Indonesia.. EVER!

Spotted Eross, Adam and Duta. Sempat borak ngan Adam, whom I last met YEARS ago masa Anugerah Industri Muzik. Kesian dia masih ada fever sikit. Kol 3 pagik on the day of the show, he had to have a jab, and another later in the morning.

But he was ok by showtime, and Sheila On 7 which is on a comeback trail, is back with a vengeance. They proved that they still have the most charisma onstage and were able to rock it out with the best of them.

Aku salute meka for their mettle onstage. Tapi bab Duta memang dia sora dan performace dia still tops. Eross pun still has lots of his magic, and meka berjaya pikat audience.

Ada dua tiga kali masa show, crowd unruly sikit leh gaduh, mesti kes moshing sentap menyentap gituh. But they managed to calm the audience down, and even joked about until everyone settled down. Amazing!




It was indeed a learning experience seeing Sheila On 7. Tuk aku meka the experienced hands now, and Samsons the new generation, but both bands in my eyes, are equal for their beauty of delivery on and offstage.

Enough with the text for this entry. Just enjoy the pics, and the excellent showmanship. Oh, and the pics kat bawah with Irfan tuh, masa dia join kita in the pit, sebab dia pun nak tengok show his idols. So we ended up headbanging together.

Pesta Malam Indonesia 2 - Part 1 (The Samsons special)

Don't say I didn't warn you. Entry ni malas nak posting pepanjang. Aku banyakkan pics jer lah ek. Smalam memang happening gila!

Aku sampai Bukit Kiara ngan a group of five, masa tu baru kick off the main show. Dah miss Hujan dan Meet Uncle Hussain. Tak sanggup nak jemur bawah panas... except for Samsons.

Heh.... the moment we reached, Dewi Dewi baru open for the Indonesian half of the show.

Nothing great... here some pics. Dari gambar gambar pun tau aku tak semangat sangat nak layan show meka nih kan. Matilah aku... layan je la...







Masa show Dewi Dewi nih sparuh jalan, it started drizzling. Setitis dua jer la baru aku da horror sebab Samsons pastu. Merasalah aku akan basah kuyup joget sakan. Da terbayang esok mesti demam.

Ber SMS ngan Bam. Pesan it better be a rockin' show cause I'm going to be drenched banging out front. Bam gelak je... zalim! Tapi dia promise an amazing show, and lagu lagu Samsons nak perform pun besh besh, so aku reassured sikit.

The crowd memula tak ramai, I would think maybe 2,000 lebih orang je. Tapi by the time Dewi Dewi habis je, it had grown almost double! And smain ramai by the minute.



Bosan nunggu celah break tuh, gi backstage ngan Tang jumpa bebudak dulu. Erik and Aldri were onstage just hanging about waiting to get on.




Said hi to them, before headed to the VIP lounge nak jumpa Bam and Irfan. Lepak with Bam jap just to catch up before sat down and chatted with Irfan for about 20 minutes before their stage call. Kalao ada rezeki, aku akan dapat kerjasama dengan mereka untuk an upcoming project. Tak sempat lak nak snappy pics sebab engrossed in conversation sangat.

Just managed to snap one masa Bam kena approach by some VIP fans for autographs.



And it was on to the show. From backstage aku sprint (mampu ke) to the front. Let the show begin!

It drizzled quite something masa midway but aku tetap tak berganjak. Biar basah tapi tetap leh rock! All in all they performed fantastic as usual, cuma sayang awal sangat meka on sebab Bam rushing back to Jakarta immediately after the show (kesian lak meka tak cukup tido sebab sebelom mai sini kat Nagoya, Japan lak.. alamatnya tak cukup tido).

Also it wasn't like the Bar Savanh show where they performed almost everything they've recorded. Still, dapat lagu lagu baru mereka, Tak Bisa Memiliki, my current favourite and Hening my upcoming fave. Enjoy the pics.























































By the time they were done, I was drenched with sweat and partly because of the rain. But hey... I smelled good still. Thank you Mr Versace for that.

Rush backstage jumpa Bam sat sebelom dia berangkat pulang. He was going off immediately after a shirt change, so one last cam whoring session. Pastu lepak jer ngan Erik yang kelakar. Hope they don't take another year to come back here for a show. Tapi this is the third time I've seen them perform in the last month, so I guess I can count myself lucky.Samsons rule!
