Bangkok - Day 3

Orang gi Bangkok mesti nak urut kan? What trip to Bangkok be without a massage?

Tapi kan, aku takde urut yang menggatal ok. Amik ko kali ni punya trip we had the best massage ever! Dalam hospital. Matilah. motif nak gi hospital nak main urut bagai.

Hah.. tuh dia. Kalao ada sapa tak caya aku gi hospital urut. This is the Chao Phya Abhaibhubejhr Hospital in Prachin Buri.

They offer a choice of modern as well as traditional medicine.

The have team of massuers who are trained and they use only all natural organic products semua.

So I lay my flat ass for a massage. Two hours! One hour massage biasa and another for an oil massage (which was actually a mix of paste that looked like mashed bananas, tapi aku tau ada kunyit skali - matila ada yang gelak pikir lain).

It was awesome! Sorry masa tu tak amik pic sebab sesi jam pertama menjerit kesakitan cam gila (sakit tapi besh - alamak... leh terbayang benda lain kang) and second hour lak tido sampai berdengkur sebab sedap gila massage. One of the best I ever had. Rupanya meka yang diiktiraf tukang urut sini, semua da belajar ikut module yang disediakan in a very clinical environment.

Pas abih, singgah lak hospital nya 'gift store'. It's amazing cause they carry their own line of stuff from skin treatment and soaps to hair products and make-up and so on. All made out of home-grown, 100% organic.

Tuh dia... banyak gila range dia. Spent over 1000 Baht (dalam RM100 jerk campo discount) tuk banyak benda termasuk scrub, eye gel dan cream bagai. How they make these products pon baguih gila. But will share on that shortly. Time for lunch lak.

Gorgeous view. Makan tepi sungai. The floating restaurant looked and felt like it could sink anytime...

Tapi yang pentingnya, a part of the restaurant could 'float away'. Ko makan kat bahagian luar tuh siap leh mintak river cruise rupanya. Makan as you float down the river and back! Amik ko!

It's like eating on a big, motorized raft! Cool! And the food?

Freaking yummy! We had like a dozen or so dishes. Sebab lapar dan jugak sedap, we wolfed everything down. Sorry no menu for you guys on what we ate (kalao tatau nak explain pon jenuh lak - sejak bila blog aku jadi pasal makanan lak).

But I like this.. meja dia, are tops on old sewing machines. Novel sangat idea. Masa makan aku asik pijak tempat kaki teringat masa kecik slalu main ngan mesin jahit Singer mak.

And then there was still more food. And fruits... or was. Aku baru nak snap semua sambar melantak. Tak sempat aku merasa manggis!

Our next stopover was Ban Dong Bang. Kampung ni. What's so special about this village?

This is where all the material for the hospital's organic stuff is grown.

Cita nya, dalam hampir dua dekad lepas, the economy was bad, and the hospital in wanting to aid the villagers, came up with a plan for the villagers to plant various plants and herbs that could be used for alternative medicine.

Under the supervision of the hospital (that checks on everything used in the growing of the plants), and with research and development by the hospital, it's now a booming business where about a dozen of other ingredients are used from over a hundred species of plants grown.

The rest are sold under the village's own brand name. Meletup!

This is one of their products. A herbal compress. Ni makcik sorang ni ajar camna meka make it by hand. Here's a step by step, camna semua bahan digaulkan, tambah ngan garam, diikat cara betol sebelom digunakan.

Kelas tak cara ikatan. She did it so fast that when all of us decided to try to make our own - hado? Some very badly wrapped voodoo doll figures were the result of the 'deft' hands of some friends. Gelak sorang.

Here are some of the various species of herbs and stuff planted.

And here are some of the products the villagers make on their own.

Yang benda dalam kapsul silver tuh inhaler. Kisahnya dulu hanya raja leh pakai. Skang orang biasa pon mampu. Dia cam Tiger Balm gituh bau dia, tapi serious skali sedut tuh cam clear pernafasan bagai. RM3 je duit kita.

Aku beli herbal compress dan inhaler.

And here's more stuff.

Ni some pics of the process of drying to processing the harvested plants.

The coolest name for any plant! Either that or damn good name for a drag queen! Clitoria katanya (gelak sorang very maniacally!)

By the time we were done, masing-masing da hot and sweaty! Piled on the bus, and headed back for Bangkok. We checked into the Grand Centara, which is part of Central World.

Baru dapat tengok Central World betul-betul since the first day lalu tak perasan.

Saw the Zen part under repair after the Red Shirts riot, but the area which saw so much tension in the past couple of months peaceful jek. Checked into hotel and did my usual room inspection.

Nice... yang pentingnya I absolutely love the capsule shaped, rounded cubicle for shower. Memang best gila. Not as gorgeous as the bathroom in Renaissance but still pretty impressive.

Aku paling suka the concealed window above my bed which opens just above the bath tub. Very the setting for a horror movie where something reaches to grab you while you're in bed or the tub, but sexy nonetheless.

And my view?

Rooftop pool was gorgeous, just too bad it wasn't an infinity pool yang nampak tergantung tepi bangunan. Still, gorgeous view of the central parts of Bangkok and angin pon sodap.

Had a drink at the pool bar before walked out with friends for a night out.

One thing for sure, Bangkok is doing fine now. Takde benda nak takot pon da. Yang takot cuma bau pelancong Arab yang smakin ramai ke Siam skang jek...scary!

Destination? Silom! I love the Silom and Patpong area (walaopon Patpong is seedier) So did some after hours jalan-jalan around Silom.

Check out the roadside tattooist on Silom 4. Kedai tatu pon leh bukak gerai tepi jalan. Menakutkan!

Went Soi 4 looking for port nak lepak sebab it's quieter. Sepanjang Silom ni memang banyak clubs, go-go bars and gay outlets so memang variety. Chose Soi 4 which is a drinking area with a mixed crowd sebab lebih tenang.

Pastu sambung jalan. Member nak beli barang tuk awek, aku lak browsing tapi tak minat beli pe-pe sangat sebab Silom ni memang tourist trap. Baik beli esok lusa kang bila shopping kat Prathunam area, with my favourite at Baiyoke as well as kat Platinum mall kesukaan ramai or MBK.

Tuh dia.. Super Pussy katanya. Tapi yang penting ni kedai ni jual beg tiruan kira yang terbesar. Ada Grade AAA punya replica of designer stuff. Tapi sorry, Gucci aku bukan pelesu ye nak beli sini. Heh.. gatal biji check ada beg Gucci... gila nak dekat ori rupa. Cacat cela memang kurang dan susah nak tangkap. Tapi harga bukak RM700. Takyah... walaopon top up double leh beli ori masa sale ok! Tak kena halau dari butik bawak beg palsu cam artis tertentu kat sini.. oops!

Yang bestnya malam tu... aku pakai my Spain jersey. In the mood World Cup final katanya.

The whole of Silom, hampir semua pekerja gerai dia pakai baju team bola. Mostly Spain.

"Seh-pennnnnnn!!!" Matilah sebutan... tapi sapa pakai baju Spain memang cam superstar cause everyone there seemed to support Espana. I like! Sapa pakai baju Netherlands memang kena hencap. Ada beberapa tourist kena boo sebab pakai the orange. Heh... sesuwai gak sebab ada omputeh ni berangan. Yang Dutch tourists ni kerek ingat kelas sangat tapi kena boo. Member sorang sokong Netherlands tension jalan... sebab ke mana kita jalan orang tengok jersey aku terus anggap gang.

Settled down at the Mexican resto along Silom (forgot the name) as it was the only place that was empty and with a big screen. Had a good dinner and layan World Cup sana.

PS - Yeay! Spain won!!!! Puas gila!
