Hush

Hari ni nak konsep photo entry je leh tak. Nak crop, edit, watermark bagai takes forever... so malas tulis panjang.

Ni photoshoot masa some random needless to mention event. Kita start ngan akak Sharifah Shahira aka She-Ra : Princess of Power. Heh.. tu yang aku panggil dia. Akak Shira.

She wasn't confortable in this baju, sebab baju ni penah dipakai Datuk Siti dan saiz tak kena bagai. Masa dia nak kuar photoshoot, dia nampak aku terus main cak cak.. dan cakap kuat-kuat "Happy Halloween!"! Motif? Heh... she's forever funny la. But especially so when someone has the ability to just laugh at themselves and not take themselves too seriously.

Then Vanidah Imrah. Akak Vee lak.

Doesn't she look a little Ziana Zain with the pulled back hair and all?

Ni.. Sharifah Amani kena keja kan ngan aku. Dia kan comel-comel. Aku mintak pose supermodel seksi sikit. Hasilnya?

For some reason, she looks a little Yasmin Hani here. And below, back to cutesy mode with Liyana Jasmay.

Magika

Went for the gala premiere of Magika tadik. Dah dua kali ku tonton, dari preview sebelom ni berbulan lalu.

Again, kalao nak mintak aku review, tak larat lor. Bukan aku entertainment website. I'm just a blog - a personal blog, which is just my personal opinion of things. Things that I choose to talk about.

But kalao nak mintak opinion aku, depending on what you're looking for. It's a good family popcorn movie. Nak kata rugi, takkan la kalao beli tiket. Would I buy a ticket to watch? Yes.

But maybe simply because aku memang suka tengok lakonan Ning sebagai Puteri Gunung Ledang, Ziana sebagai Nenek Kebaya, Nani dan Leya sebagai Bawang Putih dan Bawang Merah, Pak Nil sebagai Pak Pandir. Kira amusing la to have our own version of Alice In Wonderland with all our favourite artistes.

Star power memang kaw kaw. Ada Mawi, Diana Danielle, Maya Karin, M Nasir... aduh. Ramai la. Dah.. malas nak taip panjang. Baik korang layan pics at the premiere.

Kalao korang perasan aku perangai kemalasan menulis. Tapi ni sebab kesibukan aku so paham la ek. Pe pon, aku kejar rezek ni, blog peribadi ku menjadi tanggungjawab semakin berat nak maintain. Especially since aku lebih meriah ber-micro blogging via Twitter. So add aku sana lagik up to date.

But I am not getting rid of my blog, and I won't stop. But just that kekadang malas tulis panjang ke, ataupon lambat update, mintak paham-paham la ek. Heh...

Maut - the review

So after having hung about the shooting of Maut, then named Malaikat Maut before the change in title some two years ago ketika shooting kat Sentul - did Maut live up to my expectations?

Yes and no.

It's not really a horror as the title would directly suggest. In fact, being a lover of horror movies, I was hardly - not even mildly horrified by any part of it - apart from the atrocious use of lighting which was as good as shoving a floodlight up someone's bum and asking them to direct it randomly. Matilah awal awal da nak carut... kannnnn!!!

Like I said, hampir dua tahun lepas, aku penah cover shooting adengan car crash yang korang akan dapat tengok dalam cita ketiga yang melibatkan Que, Sherry, Awal dan Nana. Lapan jam lebih gak dok set tengok meka wat. Also had a long talk with abang Bade over his vision for the movie then.

Ok... let's see. Opening the movie, and in between, the graphics of a tree, yang gugur daun tiap kali tuh, as a non Muslim aku memang tak paham... sehingga kengkawan explain. So the tree is life, and tiap kali daun gugur tuh there's a death, and malaikat maut akan menjalankan tugas. Erm... ok then.

Mai start filem ni yang ala syampu Rejoice 3 in 1.

STORY #1
Si Lina ni naik bas, kebetulan si Fadilah is on it as well... looking bored to death. Maybe she is dead cause lakonan ia memang tahap mayat bergerak. Oops!

Tetiba, kat umah, si Lina dapat tamu. Rupanya si Fadilah ketok pintu mintak tolong sebab beg dia kena ragut and she needs shelter for the night sebab dia tak dapat teruskan perjalanan dia balik ke rumah makcik dia.

Esoknya, si Fadilah vanishes into thin air. Ilang terus without a trace, dan takde orang percaya cita si Lina. Especially bila kuar berita yang Fadilah nih missing.

At the end of it, rupanya si Fadilah has been raped and murdered and her body is found by Lina yang guided to look for answers.

What did I think?
Well, first of all, the premise of the story was quite interesting, though not exactly unique. Berapa banyak cita da kita layan pasal souls returning to guide the living with the agenda to seek peace over their untimely demise. So as the opening number gituh, I don't think this was a good lead in, as it didn't bear any promise of the other two stories to come.

The problems with continuity didn't help. Konon Lina dan si housemate dia tengok berita, and she realises it was the girl that had slept over - ngarut sangat. Tatau la aku missed something, tapi tanpa imej perempuan tu, aku wonder how the hell did Lina figure out it was the same girl.

Also the character of Lina ni tak strong and there is no related spooking to make it believable yang dia sanggup go through all the problems of finding out what happened to Fadilah.

Back soal conti, I wonder how Lina found Fadilah's parents' home, and leh percaya ke yang stakat berbekalkan info Fadilah dia sanggup redah carik tempat yang Fadilah kata nak headed.

Bab kawasan kubur tuh - it was laughable to imagine one area yang Bukit haper si Fadilah tuh bagitau, takde rumah bagai... I mean.. oh never mind.

What's even more laughable is that with her body being out in the elements for days, decomposition would have set into quite advanced stages, but part mayat ditunjuk sikit nampak flawless je. And yet leh terbau? Someone who wants to do stuff like this please do your homework. Jangan lak pasni alasan - tu la... strange circumstances... ko kena paham... tu yang peliknya. Puh-lease.

Erm... and dare I mention the abuse of the KLCC skyline and sound effect nak horrify orang yang nan ado jadiknya?

Overall - it was tahap drama TV je, and lakonan kesemua pelakon kayu abih, even Liyana (sorry gurl... you know I love you but this is not our best)

Maybe it's just me, but seriously there was no direction nor build up for the second story. And what's with Danny's character balak takleh pakai tuh? Waste of time, and space, which like so many things in the story - brought nothing to the storyline at all.


STORY #2
Ni lak cita si Farah yang pramugari. Dia kawin ngan mamat omputeh sekor ni and hidup dia bergelumang dosa gituh - bila hidup nya Islam pada nama saja bukan amalan.

Waking up in a hospital - Farah cita pada sorang minah ni yang helps her out, about how she died and was tormented in hell before given a second chance.

Ok... honestly this story paling sesuai tuk slot drama swasta Very TV drama quality.

It's preachy, overdrawn and just cliched!

Dari dialog, ke adengan meka melakukan memacam maksiat, it seemed so fake and composed in the mind of someone who must have envisioned a typecast lifestyle.

The CGI ok ok though... tapi masuk bab dia diseksa tuh, cam a cartoon version of Mummy Returns lak. I don't know... maybe the visual effects were better, but with a huge freaking disclaimer plastered taking up half the screen, I couldn't tell.

Acting skills were virtually non existent - and at this point, technical issues including out of focus shots and really bad lighting direction was enough to get me shaking my head. Which was a step up from laughing at the really bad script.


STORY #3
If you thought cita ketiga ni was going to save everything, tajuk albumnya NAN ADOOOO!!!

Cita ni mengenai JJ yang feeling black metal dan bertatu dan bergaul bebas... semua bebas la sampai ngongkek sana sini. Of course no scenes of that lor.

Dalam perjalanan balik dari konsert black metal yang sebenarnya lebih meyerupai konsert Siti Nurhaliza tapi cuma lighting gelap with a very bad singer screeching again cliched lines of worshiping the dark lord - JJ dan kengkawan dia kemalangan.

At this point I must add, yang like the second story, everything seems so contrived and cliched.

Sambung balik, kematian JJ tak aman langsung, sampai lubang kubur pun tanak tima. Very the local urban legend tau... this me likey. Localised content for our brand of horror. Cuba lebihkan elemen camni tuk identiti kita sendiri.

I really have to commend Que Haidar. His performance made the whole movie worth watching with him being in his element - just like in Syaitan. Sakit bontot aku nak alih kiri kanan nak elak kebas, tak sabar movie ni habih, berbaloi hanya kerana dapat tengok lakonan dia yang bebetol menjadi tuk hidupkan watak JJ.

Lain dari tuh... this film menjadi horror - sebab aku tak caya they still can make this kind of movies.

It's not as bad as Congkak - which was I think one of those movies yang bebetol memalukan filem Melayu. Maut has promise, just maybe the direction was too cliched, and too drawn from things we've all seen too much off by someone who may not have done enough homework into relevant topics that was to be potrayed.

At the end of the day, the moral of the whole film aku leh summarise is this :
Story #1 - This shit COULD happen to you!
Story #2 - This shit NEARLY happened to you!
Story #3 - Damn you bitches! Da warning ngan dua story masih tak sedar diri - nih diaaaaa one way tiket ke neraka lahanat oiii!!!

Heh... matilah pepandai je aku.

So is Maut worth going to the cinemas for? Yeah well.... it is. If only for Que Haidar's acting and the occasionally interesting camera work selain niat menyokong filem Malaysia. Just keep your expectations low. I know aku for one, wished abang Bade tak wat filem ni after he amazed me with Syaitan which I thought was an interesting piece of work.

Korang gi layan Maut ok. The movie from Tayangan Unggul has a mixed cast of new and upcoming and more experienced names in Liyana Jasmay, Sabrina Hassan, Que Haidar, Eja, Hasnul Rahmat, Hamidah Wahab, Awal Ashaari, Diana Danielle, Mohamad Bathich, Raja Farah,
Noreminadiya, Mohd Kardanie, Danny, Fauziah Nawi dan ramai lagik kot yang aku tak ingat.

It opens 15 Januari. Korang gi tengok.. pastu mai komen balik korang setuju ke tak pandangan aku ek.

Sokong filem tempatan!!! (ni statement wajib selagik lom busuk tahap Congkak)

PLU berjaya?

Have to rush through this entry sebab nak tidur awal katanya besok (eh.. later today... da past midnight) ada banyak lak hal nak rushing. Afternoon nak lunch skali ngan my family for a belated family celebration nak makan makan for my mom's birthday. Biasala... ari biasa susah sebab my sis and I sibuk. So tangguh weekend ler.

Then tengahari lewat sikit pastu nak jumpa si Halim lak nak pass Jizzebel dia tuh, and kena temankan dia beli sangkar. I need to get some stuff for my Joey too.

Petang nak jumpa some special friends yang akan temankan ke konsert Akademi Fantasia kedua. Nak tau sapa? Korang tengok kat konsert kang bila umum tuh taula kalao da biasa baca kat sini.

Anyway, moving on. Smalam was Fasha's birthday. Actually tak plan nak pergi pon sebab malas nak kuar rumah. Tapi sebab Faz mintak temankan, gi la skali ngan Nafi. She picked us up from Bangsar sebab insist nak naik satu keta, and then kat sana jumpa Miss E. Sampai pon lambat, so sempat wish Fasha jerk. Aku just share the pics ek.

We didn't stay long. Not sebab rushing, sebab even pun da nak habis time tuh. I think we stayed just over half an hour. Takper la kan. It's the thought that counts.

Lapar sebab tak sempat makan (alas perut je nunggu Faz siap.. women!), so Faz dragged us ke Mezza Notte (kalau tak silap), an Italian restaurant kat Heritage Row.



Sebenarnya tak minat ke area tuh sebab dah lah sesak... Friday night biasalah. Pastuh memang tak gemar bingit sangat area tuh (dah tua la)

But the food was divine! Sorry no pics. Kowser nak review makanan lak.

Merasalah... sebab Faz terkenal kerana kasut, I had to snap her footwear. Tapi takpe sebab taste kasut dia memang aku leh puji. Here were her choice of heels for the night.



Tak caya Faz punya power bab kasut? Nak kena tumit? Heh... jangannnn!!! Faz ada power when it comes to heels. Tak caya aku takpe. Tengok pic bawah tuk bukti.



Tuh dia! Dia angkat heels jer focus power dahi siap kuar cahaya! Merasalah kejap lagik kena hentakan kuasa gaban tumit! I take two steps back at least sebelom carut seterusnya takot kena langkah heels melayang.

Just kidding. Saja je usik tuh. We didn't stay long, pas makan gerak balik. Miss E lepak, while the rest of us headed back. Faz ada shooting 10 pagik kang.

Aku lak nak get some rest.

Sempat balik je layan Diari Akademi Fantasia and Diari EXT. Mai on to ulasan for Diari ari nih before I went to bed.

Diari pertama hari for the last day of the week.

Motif Nubhan pakai handphone nak hapal lagu? Layan sampai tidur katanya.
Masuk kelas Linda Jasmine. Boy, she's really working them to the bone. Bagus! Jangan nak bersepah lagik cam konsert pertama. Kena kasar sikit camtuh elok sikit sebab bebudak nih lembab gila perlu things to be hammered into them.

Oh God! Toi nyanyi nih.. so many things wrong. Syafie terus halau keluar because da la hopeless presentation, lirik pon tak hapal.

Ya ampun! Si Faizal pun tak hapal lirik and takde improvement langsung katanya!

Another hopeless case! Kena halau kuar tuk repair apa yang patut. Elok lah tuh. Halau kuar Akademi pon takpe kalao teros camni.

Aiyo.. more on the handphone. Si Stanly dan Stcy sibuk amik pic cam-whoring jerk. Time well spent in the Akademi katanya. Tu la... sapa mintak bagi handphone. Kan da melekat jerk.

Merasalah Sarimah comment pose maut leh, tapi jangan kuar kang kata pic superimposed. Siot jerk. Heh!

Si Faisal dan Toi ni.. da la kena halau. Bukan nak improve. Si Toi leh feel air guitar memain sambil si Faisal terus menyumbangkan lagu in the worst of ways. Toi when finally rehearse, horror tetap. Hish!

Merasalah minggu nih lagik satu persembahan yang jujur la minggu ni.

Riz played advisor nak betol kan orang.

Stacy was ok, but she really needs to bond with the song.

Ika was karaoke gone wrong.

Saida was most improved I think, with her new found confidence. Can't wait for her show tomorrow.

Rina had minor problems ngan breathing techniques.

Break in the show - Saida kem pesan kat anak anak to take care and be good, and listen to their dad. Honestly, Saida looks tired, but she seems more confident in carrying herself. Kenapa aku tengok dia time cakap ngan cam tuh as in the pic below moka dia ingat kan aku pada Marsha lak.



Nadia tak dapat minus one, kisahnya belajar dari mp3 full song dari handphone. kena sabo kisahnya ngan Ika yang entah man campak minus one Umbrella tuh. Keji!

Honestly, meka nih nak promote Nokia sangat ke sampai tahap bebudak tak bagi practise ngan minus one have to depend on phone,

Matilah whole segment focusing on how amazing the Nokia is.

More on Nadia. Nak fine tune sikit English dia ngan kak Fati.

"Now it's raining more than EVAHHHHH!!!" katanya.

Damn! More on the freaking camera yang ngadu kata Toi nangis sebab tak dapat hapal lagu. Perlu ke? Nak tunjuk je kalao nak sangat bagi dia undi simpati.

Rina cita pasal horror nak perform depan pengetua, unlike kalao audience dia leh relate.

Second Diari - Toi bisik kat kamera, semua pakai baju sponsor tapi Riz tak leh muat sebab sendat!

Nih yang aku tunggu. Tapi tension sikit. Sebab Ramli MS ngamuk ringan ringan sampai aku da takde benda nak carut kat sini.

Rina menjadi pelajar contoh sebab she's the only one yang obviously improve.
Stuju sangat!
"Korang ni baru nak mula pun takleh masuk!" ngamuk Ramli MS.
Nubhan pun kena for slurring. Amik ko!

Dua orang yang hampeh.. padan moka kena sound.



Nadia did ok, but lacking in energy
Faisal? Nangis jap. Moka Syafie da very the cam cuka. Ramli nak meletup da. Katanya sora si Faisal cam angsa kena letak tali gantung katanya. Matilah!!! Sujud kat bung Ramli!!!
Riz? Vocal tunggang langgang katanya, not in tune. Dance cliche katanya. Kan aku da kata... dia nih very the outdated adik-adik yang inspired by RTM in the Seventies.

Hah... "bila saya tengok camtuh nak muntah!" Aiyo! Aku takyah carut la camni, sebab abang Ramli da laser all out.

Stanly pun kena carut for trying too hard and going off key.
Alif - tetap dikatakan lembik and no energy.
Matilah bebudak laki semua lembik pas kena carut. Aiyo! Honestly. Kena sikit pun da camtuh? Sampai Alif diusik cam menitis airmata.

Eh ok la.. nak tidur. Will update after the concert in the early hours of Sunday pas da edit lagu dan video pelbagai ok?

Oh, by the way, lupa lak nak share. Kan peratusan da takde? Tapi dalam Diari EXT tadik bagi last count for the peratusan. And guess what?



Yes! Tuh dia top five as of last night. Kelima lima pelajar aku sokong dok lima tempat teratas. I just hope that position stays, so kalao orang sokong any one of these names above, gerak gempur AFUNDI cepat!!!!

Oh and for those yang tengok Diari EXT, (yang paham la) korang pecah perot tak cam reaksi aku bila Alam dan Roslen sebut pasal PLU.

Matilah... ingat cita pasal Ria dan Stanly rupanya pasal Rina... PLU or short for Pelajar Lanjut Usia. Matilah ingat baru nak story pecah lobang.

By the way - glad Syafie mentioned Riz was not as good as people said he was with all the wrong techniques. Thank goodness. Am just about sick how people puji dia gila babas konon hebat.
