Happy 2008!!!!

So this is it. The last day of 2007! In case I party too much tonight, and I don't update the night before tomorrow like awal sikit, nih aku nak wish everyone who's reading this - Happy New Year! Here's to hopefully an awesome 2008!

As with every year, I've made several resolutions, which I will most probably break before you can yell, "Happy New Year" at me. But this year aku cuba lah maintain. Mana tau kan... I can actually keep some of them.

I did keep a few in 2007. One of which was to have a posting EVERY DAY of 2007!

So this is one of the few blogs yang memang lengkap tiap ari ada entry. Yerlah... nak thicken my resolve blah blah blah. At least it shows I can stick to something kan?

Apapun, I will do the same in 2008 - one posting for every day.

Apart from that - also kept leeches and parasites at bay, which was also a 2007 resolution, which I will continue this year too. Talked about the two legged sort who masquerades as friends - though I think 2007 I did well enough to spring clean the losers out of my life.

No matter what - it's about dealing with your liabilities. And I am glad that I can now move ahead with life. My only competition - is not with these idiots or pathetic morons yang cakap lebih dari buat. I'll challenge myself to be better at everything.

At least that's something where I can actually set standards.

One I did not keep was to watch my weight. Actually I stayed more or less the same, tapi I ballooned and then went down on and off. So hopefully for health's sake... will try to take care of myself more. No damn rabbit food for me though.

So anyway - if anyone's interested in public record - here's my resolutions for 2008 apart from the ones mentioned above. Note I have kept it to realistic levels, as advised by something I read about having it to be goals within reach for you t keep resolutions. So for 2008, I will...

  1. Read more books.Unless I find a way to get Astro on my laptop..

  2. Not to make more enemies. Let me destroy the ones I already have first.

  3. To swear less and refrain from using profanities in every sentence - and only for people who antagonise me (er... which is quite safe because a lot of people piss me off)

  4. Don't get hooked on Heroes Volume III or America's Next Top Model Cycle 10 and spend hours downloading those series which I'm so anticipating to see despite endless b***hing about them.

  5. Not to shop by impulse and shed my shopaholic tendencies.

  6. To not procrastinate or be late for dates, events or whatever I'm scheduled for... but I'll get back to that later.

  7. Work harder - and make more money so I can justify breaking resolution number five.

  8. Persevere with smoking despite endless price increases - and ignoring discriminating non smokers.... keep the tobacco industry folks working and help the economy!

  9. Not to be so irritable with lame service staff at hotels, airports, malls, and other places, or government staff as I should understand by now there's a reason why they're working there.

  10. Keep incriminating evidence of people I hate and absolutely despise with guarded care, so I can use them it against them when needed. Especially those who don't know I have them. Sapienta Est Potentia!!!
Anyway, let's see how many I can keep. I think they're pretty realistic so should have no problems with it. How about you guys? Done with your resolutions?

Good luck keeping them. Be updating as soon as I finish partying tonight - early tomorrow morning ok. Have a good time - and be safe!

I love you guys!

Now bugger off 2007 and bring in that fresh tart in 2008. Oops.. I meant fresh start. Happy New Year!!!!

Are you ready?

Oh my... another year ending. Cam cepat sangat lak dah nak berakhir 2007. Gawd! I hate the onset of a new year.

Resolutions... traffic jams... bad parties... recollections of things you don't ever want to remember... you know the drill.

Got so pessimistic about 2008, a year where we're having the election, where prices are almost surely to go up (either it's cigarettes, petrol or toll - all of which I can't seem to avoid spending on) and opportunities are unsure.

Curled up in bed the whole day, and after over 12 hours sleep (membadak tak hengat!!!) got up to a cheery day. Well... technically... since it was already late evening.

Anyway didn't do much today. Still wondering nak gi mana malam esok for new year's eve. Got a couple of places to be actually, tapi tak satu pun berkenan.

The most likely skang will be KLCC for the celebrations there. Tapi pada masa yang sama, thinking of getting away from the city - where everyone will be congregating.

That way - if some natural disaster or monster attack occurs - I'll be one of the few survivors (ok... I think I need to stop watching those Cloverfield promo trailers)

Tapi serius, aku rasa cam nak larikan diri dari KL jerk sebab malaih tul pikir how jammed up it's going to be.

Roads are going to be closed, it's going to take hours to get even a few hundred metres, and the only way to avoid the jam is to leave latest by late noon, or take public transport with the masses, many of whom aren't familiar with the word hygiene.

Urghhh!! No thank you! Tried that once. Yuck!

So anyway, leaving it until the last minute to decide.

Apapun - for the moment - malas pikirkan. Tengok camna. one thing for sure, I am not going to f**k up my 2008 welcome unlike last year, sebab pikirkan orang lain. Yeap, the closing of 2007 and the ushering of 2008 is going to be start being about me.

Yeap... that's what 2008 is going to be like.

Work, getting ahead, and who knows... making my first million? Nothing's impossible. And decided sudah. I've got about two and a half months leave to play with (make that 49 days - since I'm on five day week, it adds up to twelve weeks with weekends - not including public holidays in between) so aku akan cuti as of January and probably start in mid April. Boleh? Cam omputeh lak concept summer holiday nak take a few months off tapi gaji masih jalan.

Oh, I'll still be at all events, tapi officially tak keja. Figured out need time off. First of all, my TV project has to take off with the first round of boardroom meetings in early January. Also work on the ad campaign which I conceptualised for my sister. It's my first involvement in this side of a creative marketing campaign - and I'm so glad my idea was jumped at. Apapun, look out for the RED campaign in 2008. That's all I can say.

Those two massive projects are going to be taking up a lot of my time dah.

Arghh!! So many things to do... and hopefully (this is one complain I'd love to hear coming from me) so much money to make!!! Matilah.

Anyhoo... smalam gi rehearsal Nikki nak tengok preparation dia for the RTM new year's eve show. Kat studio, she's performing ngan Burn, Deja Moss and VE, with probably the link up of Konsert Sinaran kat Dataran Merdeka featuring Mawi and Mila dan ramai lagik.

Since kalau aku in town pun aku gi KLCC (or may run to Dataran kalau larat), so pop in tengok camna persiapan dia. I'll cut short my rantings and go to the pics ok (making full use of my digicam)
Until tomorrow, guys.

New look for RTM for 2008? A little tacky (too colourful - cam kids' show lak) - but the best set I've seen from them so far... which isn't saying much.

With this much lighting, you have to wonder why things look so dark on TV - or why everything has to be colour lights ala ala gerai tomyam.

Things looked ok masa duet Deja and Nikki.

A close-up shot.

Azmi amusing himself with his fingers. And er... Nikki did NOT approve of this J-Lo-esque pic.

Everything was ok until.... Deja was attacked by the badly dressed Afro martians!

Anas looked away, while Maz... erm... was.. spellbound by the dancers.

Group act - host Nazril and whatzhername...

Nazril tries to dance.

Interview pun kena rehearse ke???

Nikki in action.

And attacked by the killer mime dancers...

Sehati Berdansa

aI know there are gonna be tons of reviews on Sehati Berdansa, so aku malas nak tulis panjang lebar about the actual event, especially seeing I didn't really follow it throughout the debut season.

Having watched a few episodes, it was rather painful to watch the celebrity couples gerak cam kayu that it made me feel all the more stronger about not following it.

Still, malam tadik final aku gi gak. Not so much for the actual competition - tapi nak catch up on friends I used to be close with.

Of course, one couple I knew them separately before they got married. Tapi meka ni awal da eliminated tapi sebab meka pon. Of course aku cita pasal pasangan As dari kumpulan Feminin dulu dan Azman Adnan, bekas pemain bolasepak Selangor (ok so he played for a few other teams, DBKL the first tak silap aku, and I think the last was Negeri Sembilan).

Seronok sangat jumpa meka nih. Memula serempak backstage masa tuh sebab aku parking keta aku that area. Bumped into everyone getting ready. First person aku bump into abang Azman, tapi tak sempat chat, walaupun aku sempat say hi. Moka dia blur... tak ingat la tuh. Well, considering the last time we met was I think in 1993 or 1994, no surprise gak.

The men from the six eliminated teams getting ready.

Moved a little bit further lak, ada pasangan 'kawan' nih lak. Sempat tuh posing walaopon running through their script.

Ever ready to pose - Linda and Fahrin. Kawan je ek?

Grabbed a seat, and then since it was some time headed backstage again sebab tadik rush nak chat tak sempat bebetul tegur everyone.

Caught up with Azman again. Sebab earlier dia tak cam aku (after 13 years or so tak jumpa - no surprise la)... started refreshing his memory time kita lepak skali dulu.

Bila aku cakap aku dak SSFC, fan club tuk Selangor FC, satu satunya ahli bukan Melayu dulu la... dia cam ingat ingat sikit.

Tapi bila pakai the privy info baru dia recall.

"Ala...dulu...padang FAS, pas practise, lepak kedai Pak Man...ngan empat budak hitam and (takleh cita sini)...."

Then he was laughing and we caught up. Lama siot tak jumpa bang Azman. Besh! Dia dulu one of my fave footballers - time tuh memang takde orang leh lawan dia la. Aku ikut career dia ever since dia moved from Kuala Lumpur to Selangor punya team and memang fan gila time tu yang aku masih belajar.

Kira hampir semua game home and away aku wajib ada. Yang tak dapat pegi dulu pun Sabah dan Sarawak, and Brunei sebab cost factor (studying ma masa tuh) and also Kelantan (always dangerous sebab kena ujan batu kang)

Hah...jangan tatau. Aku ni footie freak gak dulu. My teams were Selangor and Manchester United. Smakin tua... guess my minat slowly hilang. Skang haram nak ikut bola. Kalao gi mamak orang tengok Star Sport - kecoh kecoh... aku blah terus sebab tak tahan bising.

After that session - tanak kacau dia bersiap, so made said a few more his.Bumped into Hanapfe, laki si Haiza... dia nih kelakar. For some reason, ko dengar dia gelak pun rasa nak gelak skali.

Matilah... Haiza pinjam laki ko jadik model sini jap sebab sempat snap pic dia tengah wat lawak.

Hanapfe nih...

And then there were the unmentioned singers yang nyanyi smalam in Farhan and Rosma. Bab samba ke salsa tuh si Farhan yang wat, while Rosma did the joget songs. Piccie time!

Rosma dan Farhan. Kesian tak dengar pun mention - and wish they had let Farhan sing the theme song to Sehati Berdansa live.

Didn't have much time to mingle and chat, and also didn't want to get into anyone's way - so after a brief chat with Radhi, and discovering my camera had run out of batteries (won't happen after this because I just got a rechargeable pack), scooted to the front to enjoy the show. Here are some pics - from the start... and then masa pas umum result. Malas nak komen lebih pasal keputusan, but it's not like we didn't know who was going to win, kan?

No problems with it cause could hardly care about it. Managed to get some batteries off Iqram (tima kasih) and snapped away.

As the show was starting. Too many colours!

The park in the Putrajaya International Convention Centre that was my smoking area for many a commercial break.

Time nak umum result.

Announced - and roll credits!

Mobbed! By photographers and fans.

Have to compliment the kids who did the tap sequence though. I think of all the performance yesterday night, termasuk lapan choreographer masa intro tuh, bebudak tuh the best lah! They were helluva a lot more professional and in synch with each other showing that they had worked hard on their routine, and came off as total pros. Can't say much for anyone else who danced throughout the remainder of the program.

Yeap, I'm trying to be nice... especially since it is for charity. So no mention of the loud, garish outfits, the cheesy techno music, or the wrong choice of performances.

Nope... none of that. Just wished other organisations got the money though. I know the Malaysian Association for the Blind, the Malaysian AIDS Council and the Kiwanis Down Syndrome Society (can't remember their exact name) needs the funding a lot more for the lack of funds flowing in. Oh well...

Made my way to the press conference and post party before the mob hit, so managed to chow down awal and get a nice shot of Putrajaya from the terrace deck where the event was held.

Nampak very the futuristic.

So time tuh ler dapat catch up. Si As mati mati nak perkenalkan aku ngan Azman. See, the last time aku hang out ngan As pun was I think in 1996, sebelom dia even jumpa Azman. After that we all just lost contact.

Aku kenai As I think sometime in 1994 masa aku kat college in Ampang, because I was... erm dating someone in that group she was in. Matilah no further info on that.

So we became buds and she was my party mate masa zaman Boom Boom Room Kuala Lumpur.
When they got married, aku terkejut, sebab tak sangka two people I knew separately had hitched, tapi tak kesempatan. And because I didn't go for the weekly Sehati Berdansa progrsam, tak kesempatan ler meet with them.

"Hah.. dia ni member aku dulu time party party," si As nak perkenalkan.

"Eh matilah ko... aku kenal laki ko sebelom ko pun kenal dia," aku gelak.

"Tak kisahlah... aku nak kenalkan gak," si As tergelak gelak.

Matila... dari time aku kenai dua orang ni, kicik jer... half my size. Merasalah celah meka skang ala happy family lak semua bolat. Well, all of us grow up... or sideways... sooner or later.

To my former sis... (sebab lama tak lepak former la) Asfarina, all the best, gurl, in everything. And to abang Man... jangan tambah bulat agik wei...

Moving on... korang perasan tak ada someone kat Sehati Berdansa punya finale tuh. Kak Ogy la... pengkritik jemputan. Tertanya tak pasal kehadiran kak Ogy? Hah...tengok... sampai kedudukan kat PC pun... special sikit.

So what exactly was she doing there? Nih some pre-season Akademi Fantasia musim keenam gossip.

Sebenarnya aku sebelum ni da dengar banyak spekulasi pasal kak Ogy punya potential involvement in the upcoming season.

Any truth in it?

Potentially... maybe.

Sebab there must be a reason for her high profile appearance and association kan? Do you see Linda Jasmine or EE there in the press conference up front? No? So who is Ogy going to be.. I mean in what position? Dengan promosi camni mesti ada sesuatuh kan?

"Tahniah ek kak Ogy kerana benda tuh bulan tiga nanti tuk program Astro tuh" aku usik.

"Eh... mana ada!!!!!!" gelak kak Ogy before running off, shouting an additional remark of "Mulut jahat!!!!" and then more laughter. Oops...pecah lobang ke? Oh, I guess I wasn't supposed to suspect. Merasalah.

Well, knowing production Akademi Fantasia slalu last minute, I wouldn't expect anything to be signed on YET, tapi I sense some potential in her name being one of the favourites.

Well, Sarimah ke... Alam ke... Ogy ke... semua aku stuju. Jangan AC Mizal dah ler. Puke! Ok lar guys... tired... nak wrap up this entry. Enjoy the rest of the pics.

The trophy - er... cam beli kat Hot Market lak.

Vanida and Rashidi - the champs. Don't you guys think Shidi ni cam Jalaludin Hassan da rupa dia?

Linda tangkap feel pose jap.

Sorry malas sangat letak bebanyak pics. Hope these will do. Later, guys...

Pocor pocor!

Today things were a little haywire sikit. Dahler nak abihkan year ender. Then a couple of other things, and also ada PC AIM Prelude. Nothing much, just announcing the performers tuk showcase yang biasa as a warm up to the event.

Kalau ikut senarai lama, semua da lepas zaman sebenarnya, I think apart from Dayang Nurfaizah, there weren't any current names. It appears to be more of a retro effort... tapi hey... program orang nak cakap apa kan?

Took some shots at the event kat Planet Hollywood, which also witnessed the performance of Meet Uncle Hussein. They're quite interesting, though I want to really listen to them for who they are. Right now, I don't know.. still am getting the Butterfingers vibe off them.

Still they're worth a listen. One of the better upcoming bands out there that you guys should take a listen to for their potential to be the biggest thing in commercial rock.

Tak ramai artis yang hadir, but then seeing how depressing the line-up was, I guess this is as good as it gets.

Literally.. the handful present.

Dayang - pose ayu as always.

The boys from Meet Uncle Hussein.

And another.

Once done, hopped over to izzi for a bite, and also peace of mind. Somehow, being the only establishment with an air conditioned smoking area just makes it so appealing to work in. That, with the good food and the bottomless beverages - always the best choice for me.

No noisy idiots to contend with, and within two hours, I had completed a couple of stories to hantar by email.

Lega sikit. A couple more, and I will be relaxed over the weekend to party and not have to bother with deadlines.
Abih je it was almost 8pm, so gerak ke KL Tower sebab ada Media Nite kat sana.

Arituh si Shai da mention.. biasa la. Dia da memang orang sana. Tadik la si Juan kata dia pegi, ajak skali, so against better judgement (oops!) aku pun pegi lah.

Got to test my new camera and shoot a pic of KL's finest erection (matilah aku!!!). Sampai je it was already packed. Got a little claustrophobic, but still managed to deal with it.
But, mak aih.. these people tema ala ala hutan, probably due to the vicinity of the location of KL Tower, which is surrounded by Hutan SImpan Bukit Nanas.

Er... kind of creative honestly, though I just couldn't shake off the feeling that it reminded me of my rumah hantu yang kelas aku wat time Hari Kantin kat skolah time Form Three.

It did look pretty decent though, so props to the organising team ler sebab tungkus lumus hias. Siap ada cages with iguanas and was that a fox or something I was playing with? Oh whatever.
Merasalah gi dekat dekat nak main and feed it. Kang kena cakar salahkan zoo... eh.. KL Tower lak. I think I should stay away from the front pages.

Anyway, ran about saying hi to everyone, cause bumped into a lot of colleagues from the news side of things.

Sebab aku da lama tinggalkan sejak masuk hiburan full time abut six years ago, a lot of them I had forgotten. Muka kekadang cam, tapi nama..mmm.

Typical dialogue of someone tegur me is :
Unknown Person : Eh Joe! Lama tak nampak! Ingat tak?
Me : Ah ah la (dengan senyuman plastik cover confusion)... lama tak nampak. Uwaa... naik/turun (depending on my evalution for a suitable answer) badan!
Unknown Person : Biasalah... umur.
Me : Ah ah... lama tak jumpa camtuh ler. So ko skang attach mana?
Unknown Person : Alah..tempat sana. Ko ingat kan?
Me : Still there? Wow... tahan nampaknya...
Unknown Person : Ko masih ada nombor aku kan. Kang free ko call ek.. we meet up!
Me : Sure... eh jap... nak mintak diri jap ek. Tu ada member (larikkkkk!!!)

It was a little tiring... especially since kena fake sebab nak jaga hati orang. After all, that was better than, "No I don't remember you. You are hardly significant, and what makes you think you're worth recalling? Obviously I've permanently erased you from my memory."

Erm...

Er... no komen.Ok la...

Tiap meja, where you sat ont he floor (kat KL Tower nih!) ada rabbits!

It was a little boring, so scooted off nak kaco Dekna dan Zarina yang wat show for the night. Merasalah snap pic meka tengah isi masa lapang berborak... otherwise known as mengumpat.
Caught in the act gituh menganyam ketupat. Dah banyak ke adik adik oi? Cukup tuk wat stok Raya tahun depan?

Pentingnya, aku letih sangat kuar isap rokok, baru nak lelap kat armchair kat corridor tempat smoking - tetiba dengar number aku dipanggil.

lucky draw katanya!

Dapat gak hamper... ok ler. So it wasn't a total waste of time.
Also to Shai, thank you for being such a good host, and thank you for the Christmas present.

Ko memang marvellous lah!

It's definitely the thought that counts, and I am flattered nok that you thought of me.

Merasalah terus smangat nak layan event agik even though it was getting draggy with a million and one things going on, but none actually capturing my fancy.

So mulled around, call Boo and gayut, and generally bored myself even more (really didn't need the help actually)

Spent the time on the phone with several people. One for the project I have in mind, but am still sitting on. Takper... azam 2008 aku, to get all my projects planned, not only off the ground, but to a flying start.

God willing, 2008 is MY year where everything will hopefully come together after years of planning and hoping for it to happen.

Too early to say anything, tapi kalau jadi (doakan lah ek) aku posting entry about it.

Whipped out my camera in between the phone calls - and started snapping just about anything sebab nak layan kebosanan.

My favourite shot of the night from the revolving restaurant atop KL Tower, would definitely have to be this simple scenic shot of the KLCC.

Angle tak cantik sangat, but somehow I like it.

Sometimes, I've become so familiar with KL, that I never marvel at the beauty we have in our own Federal Capital.

A metropolitan city like no other... but only if you give it a chance and discover the beauty of it.

The shot I took almost reminds me of a movie scene, and I wonder, how come no one ever includes nice scenes of the city skyline at night like this.

Makes you appreciate KL more, traffic jam and smog and all.
Wanted to take more shots but thought it would be a little too self indulgent, since I'm no photography expert and my angles are probably lousy... but this probably gives you an idea of what the view was like from the tower.

Simply breathtaking..

Anyhoo..rasa cam masa nak balik when they started pocor pocor. Not my thing really.

Went and had supper with Boo after and then headed home to finish a little work in my own time. Checked email before turning in and found my friend in Singapore had emailed me a copy of the story yang she_da had mentioned about in msjbox pasal Asian Idol arituh which came from the Singapore New Paper.

Did Hady win by SMS voting FLUKE?
By Jeanmarie Tan
December 19, 2007

WAS he a default winner who merely got lucky due to tactical voting?
Barely a day after Singapore's Hady Mirza sent shockwaves throughout the region by clinching the Asian Idol title, netizens are already raining on his victory parade.
Their theory?
That the 27-year-old R&B crooner only won because voters from the other five participating countries had adopted a tactical plan which eventually backfired.
Here's how: With one SMS, voters must choose two different countries to ensure fairness and minimise any potential national bias - a system that inadvertently benefitted Hady.
According to many postings on the official Asian Idol forum and MediaCorp's forum, people might have cast the first vote for their home idol, and the second vote to the one who's the least threatening, most unlikely to win and from the smallest country - to avoid improving the chances of the closest rival.
Hence, Singapore's Hady.
One netizen who went by the name of Van Helsing wrote: 'Hady was mostly selected as the second choice. It could be due to either the voters really liking him (apart from their own home idol) or he is not a threat (to their own home idol).
'Either way, the voting system has certainly worked to Hady's advantage.'
Hady took the title on Sunday night when he defeated five other Idol winners from Indonesia (Mike Mohede), Malaysia (Jaclyn Victor), the Philippines (Mau Marcelo), Vietnam (Phuong Vy) and India (Abhijeet Sawant).
The regional singing competition was televised live from Jakarta.
Despite being considered one of the weaker singers and hardly the judges' favourite, Hady managed to garner the lion's share of the almost two million SMS votes cast.
And therein lies the ongoing debate about how he pipped outstanding powerhouse singers like Jaclyn, Mike and Mau.
Did he really have the most mass appeal? Or was it all a fluke?
Hady's supporters laud his charm, good looks, X-factor and marketability, insisting he possesses the 'total package' and is 'star material'.
On the other side of the spectrum, adjectives like 'unbelievable', 'disappointing', 'anti-climactic', 'weird' and even 'funny' cropped up to describe his win.
Disgruntled netizen look4realdeal suggested that if there's ever another Asian Idol, people should 'vote for talent and not out of fear your country will lose if you cast your second vote to (someone with) real talent'.
Others were more sarcastic, like Malaysian blogger KlubbKidd who claimed Asian Idol broke 'the Ten Commandments'.
He wrote: 'There goes the 'thou shalt not worship false idols' with the win (by Hady) and 'thou shalt not steal' with the robbing of the glory of three very much more worthy talents (in Mike, Jaclyn and Mau) who so deserved the title more than the pretty boy who tried to sing.'
But Mr Anthony Ong, president of Hady's fan club, prefers to believe his idol's triumph wasn't an accident.
Together with four other members, the 26-year-old multimedia producer flew to Jakarta to support Hady, casting 'a few hundred votes' each.
Mr Ong said: 'No one can be sure which theory is true or not. I'm sure some voted strategically, but I believe the rest voted on talent, appeal and likability.
'Anyway, Asians have already chosen Hady and they have to live with it. He shone the most, compared to the rest who may have amazing voices but can't sell.
'It's a big achievement for him and for all of us in Singapore. We are overjoyed.'
Asian Idol host Soo Kui Jien added: 'At the end of the day, whether he's deserving or not, he won fair and square. And nobody can take that away from him.'
When confronted with the theory, a fatigued Hady - who only got two hours of sleep early yesterday morning - shrugged the speculation off.
He told The New Paper over the phone from Jakarta: 'People can have their own opinions and theories.
'I was the underdog in the competition... I was prepared to hug whoever was going to win.
'But I still believe that in terms of sincerity and connecting with the audience, I did pretty well.'

Ken: Hady has Malay market advantage
KEN Lim, Singapore's rep on the Asian Idol judging panel, countered the controversial theory with his own.
Said the Hype Records director, who's also Hady Mirza's boss: 'You cannot 'get lucky' with six different territories.
'I don't think voters from the region think so much into it. They are the type who are not so concerned about strategy, but vote for whom they like enough to want to spend money on.'
He felt that strong vocalists like Jaclyn Victor, Mau Marcello, Mike Mohede and Phuong Vy ended up 'fighting among themselves', which paved the way for India's Abhijeet Sawant and Hady - who are 'a different sort of artiste' - to come from behind.
'Hady had the advantage of singing in Malay and reaching out to Indonesia and Malaysia, while Abhijeet was handicapped by language barrier and wrong choice of song,' he added.
Ken revealed that after watching the first round of performances - where Hady sang Taufik Batisah's Malay song Berserah - he sensed that 'this boy has a chance'.
He said: 'I realised that he had the best balance out of all of them. I'm a commercial person, and I was looking at how the Asian Idol must appeal to audiences across Asia, beyond a voice with power and range.'
So what does being the first-ever Asian Idol mean for Hady's hitherto tepid music career?
Ken, who is working on his protege's second album, said: 'It makes our work easier, now that he's more recognised.
'But competing in the commercial market against established acts is a different ball game altogether.'

Now, that made my day. Sarcastic eh? I'm try and work it up to something in the future... still it was worth a laugh to note my observations could have been so met with opposition. Whether it's a reality TV show, or even an inter nation competitions, there are always those who will never get criticism and will always mark it as opposition. Whatever. Ignorance is bliss - and stupidity is contagious.

Sigh... facts are facts, but I suppose you only see what you want to. Que sera sera.
It's a little funny people are still ferreting that entry of mine to b****h about my disagreement with the results... whatever...funny little people.

Turning in... goodnight guys...
