That new smell

So it's a Saturday and I wanted to laze at home. Tapi nak tanak, singgah ler opis baru usha how the work progress is on there.

Apparently, the contractors tengah kelam kabut bagai, semua tak siap lagi! Nangis! Esok pagi da bebudak lain nak keja, abih lom siap bagai. Kalao meka tak cepatkan, takde paper la esok.

Tengok pic atas tuh. Matilah salah pasang meja. Tetiba sebelah tu sparuh saiz! Camna tuh? Workspace bebudak news tetiba ala ala telemarketer gituh je.

But I guess they'll be ready in time kot. It's all a little bit empty now, but slowly in stages when everyone moves in, it's going to be a bustling hive of activity.

And that's who is going to be part of the family. Selain The Malay Mail, we have The Malaysian Reserve in, and the latest acquisition - Bernama TV akan pindah masuk gak bawah satu bumbung.

Ok la... nak melantak sat da kol brapa ni tak makan seharian agik.

Packing

You know it's a day that I have nothing much to blog about when I show you guys a picture of an overturned lorry with sacks of potatoes spilling out.

Saw this scene masa aku on the way to the office. Today is the last day of packing and moving! Esok pindah ke opis baru.

So what do we do with this zebra in the office? Do we set him free into the wild? Matilah! Heh! Aduh... seb baik la tak banyak barang packing. Tapi hectic dan memeningkan nak sort out things dalam transition process ni.

Work mode

Too tired to update much.

Spent the time finishing some paperwork, and continuing on my scripts (adalah tuh). Really rushing to finish all my proposals and stuff so leh present at the next couple of meetings.

It's been hectic, and I think memang akan lebih teruk dalam seminggu dua ni as we're getting closer to the end of the year.

I wish I could share more info on the projects I'm doing, but since I'm selling ideas, I've had too many stolen from me before that I know better than to just cakap je pasal apa aku nak wat.

Takpe. I have a lot more ideas, so hardly bitter. But I need to get so much done.

My promise to myself before my 35th birthday next July.

Rewind

Siang tadi ada projek yang tak melibatkan apa apa pasai dunia hiburan. Projek mengimbau kenangan silam katanya.

Semalam lepak ngan Helmy jap, merancang nak lawat balik sekolah rendah lama ku yang da tak jejak sejak aku tinggalkan pas abih darjah enam in 1988. The reason? Saja je. Plan nak wat reunion terbengkalai da setahun dua sebab memasing sibuk, and we thought after 23 years since all of us left this school (sekolah kami only primary) - it was time to get together.

So kami pon lawat la sekolah lama kami - SK Taman Klang Jaya. Dulu dikenali sebagai Sekolah Rendah Kebangsaan Taman Goodwood masa buka in 1982 (kami second batch masuk in 1983), and then tukar nama to Sekolah Rendah Kebangsaan Taman Klang Jaya and now just Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Klang Jaya.

Sekolah banyak berubah gila. Of course la kan. Da 22 tahun takkan tak berubah. But the whole school walaupun tambah beberapa blok baru, it feels so small.

Ni kelas aku dari darjah satu ke darjah tiga.

Zaman skang ada stesen pendidikan muzik katanya. Kalau zaman aku main recorder jek.

Dan ni port favourite masa waktu rehat. Main tiang!

Banyak sangat kenangan! Aku dan Helmy terduduk gak ler nak nostalgia. The reunion is so happening in 2011 - so pada semua yang batch 1983-1988 di SRK Taman Klang Jaya, contact me. Most of us da jumpa balik kembali kat Facebook, and you can search tuk group kami pon sana.

Banyak sangat kenangan... my happiest days for sure.

As you guys know, I'm waiting for the release of the Blackberry Playbook - RIM's answer to Apple's iPad.

And as RIM is slowly starting to tease with more and more details, came across info that the Black Eyed Peas new video The Time (Dirty Bit) features - the Blackberry Playbook!

will.i.am is apparently a BlackBerry fan too, so it's probably worked in for promo.

Sebenarnya, ni pon one more entry melantak. Hari Ahad biasalah tuk aku spend time ngan family.

Tapi hari ni belah malam lepak ngan abang Bad sebab teringin sangat nak pekena aromatic crispy duck. This is the signature dish of Social - kat Bangsar. Gi cari, depan Bangsar Village II. Give it a try. Sedap gila!

Da berapa lama (tahun da kot) tak pekena crispy duck ni, so finally pas cakap nak go have it, made plans and gi melantak.

Trust me, sedap gila. Amik crispy duck tuh ngan gravy dia dan balut cam popiah. Yum!

Heh... keja jalan-jalan cari makan je aku ni berapa hari ni. Pastu leh sambung Pelita. Merasalah.

Chill out

Went for the Malaysia-International Fashion Week (M-IFW) organised by MIFA at Pavilion. Sebenarnya tanak gi, tapi kena paksa kak Nasha, who asked me to meet up and lepak sana tengok show skali.

Dia ngan Iman ada sana. She wasn't walking, esok baru show dia, so dia saja nak tengok the show, so met them there and layan sambil catch up. I rarely meet Nasha because she's so busy, but bila jumpa seronok gila. She is one of my 'sisters', and I love her because she's real.

Pas abih show kita gi lepak La Bodega for another lepak session, serempak ngan Reza who joined us.

Had a good time, and ada business venture lain coming up. Yeay! Tak sabar.

It's a storm!

My days are getting busier. Like I said, preparing for a lot of projects coming up for 2011. Nak kata awal, lewat sebenarnya sebab kalao kebanyakan company da start wat budget tuk tahun depan. So I'm hitting the accelerator and speeding to get everything done.

Ni tadi sempat makan malam to pamper myself a little.

Pastu speed to a meeting.

By the way, why do people do this? Aku tak paham konsep orang nak letak bebenda cam soft toys and all hanging from the back of their cars, near the exhaust ke bawah bumper ke...

Anyway, had a good brainstorming and lepak session.

Me likey! I am extremely inspired, and ideas are gushing. 2011 is going to be big!

Indiepretasi

If you haven't heard, album tribute P. Ramlee terhebat da launch hari ni. Aku bangga gila ngan hasil bebudak dari komuniti indie tuk cover hasil kerja seniman agung dalam kompilasi P. Ramlee... Di Mana Kan Ku Cari Ganti - Satu Indiepretasi.

The amazing 18 tracks are awesome. I personally like at least 12 of the songs gila babiks nya.

Ni all the fabulous guys behind the effort, headed by pala XFM, Adly, dulu teman sekerja aku yang put together all this. I am so proud of you, Adly. Shout out to the community for proving the indie scene can kick ass pop-milkers anyday.

Of everyone in the album, I have to say, here are two amazing talents yang make me believe Malaysian music tak nazak dan masih ada masa depan yang cerah ngan bakat-bakat muda yang begitu hebat.

The two? Najwa Mahiaddin dan Yuna.

Aku memang terpegun the two of these singer-songwriters, and I think that they are going to make sure Malaysian music will be so much more pleasant.

Anyway, for all of you guys, layan XFM, Sinar FM or Era FM to hear any of the Indiepretasi songs. Memang puas gila!
